I chortled when she raised her eyebrows questioningly. I said the password and the door opened for us. We quickly shut it and I was relieved that no one was in here. At least, I didn’t think there was. A quick check around all corners did the trick. I think I would’ve died of shame if we’d been caught together. After all, what would happen to my reputation if I as seen with her?
Walking over to the elaborate bathtub, I began to switch on the water and play with the many handles to get bubbles going.
When I looked over, Hermione was still standing by the closed door, watching me adjust the knobs on the side of the enormous bathtub. “You want us to actually go in, don’t you?” she asked.
I nodded. “Come on, ‘Mione. Don’t disappoint me.” I hoped that she would give in to me; I knew how stubborn that girl could get. I loosened my tie a little for effect.
When she still didn’t make a move, I walked over to her, hands wet from the water. I placed my hands slightly under her shoulders, making her dark robes under my hands wet. “What do I have to do to get you in the water? Seduce you to the tub?”
Hermione closed her eyes and lifted her face to mine. “Yes,” she whispered with a hint of a smile on her lips.
I sighed, mocking exasperation. “Fine, then.”
“No, no, I was kidding,” Hermione informed me, pulling away, looking rather startled. She gave me a nervous giggle and wrapped her arms around her body as if to show that she intended for me not to lay a hand on her.
“Aw, come on, Hermione. Don’t be a poor sport,” I jibed, giving her a smirk. She couldn’t dishearten me now, after all I’d been through; I turned on the water just for her!
Stubborn, she shook her head. “I do not intend to go into that tub with you, Draco. It’s the wrong thing to do. Plus, it sets a horrible example for the little ones, as a prefect. We are prefects, don’t you remember?” There was a steely glint in her eye, which reminded me of Professor McGonagall; that thought disconcerted me.
Since her determination seemed set in stone, I decided not to push the matter, for now, at least. I went over to the tub to turn the knobs of water and bubbles off, letting everything drain into nothingness. “Alright, have it your way. But you know, maybe I’ll have to start calling you Granger again,” I whispered, sneering and stepping towards her.
“See if I care, Malfoy,” she murmured to me, smiling and reaching up to lay a soft kiss on my cheek.
