Later that week, I caught Hermione fretting away in the library, something that I’d become accustomed to seeing. I walked up to her, drawing my arms around her waist. “What is it now, ‘Mione?” I asked, an inch from her ear.
Her body relaxed slightly. “I…I’m trying to find the right career to pursue. Careers advice is coming up. I’d like to become an auror, that’d be cool, but I’m not sure if it’s the right one for me, you know?”
“I think you should just calm down. Maybe you’ll think better if you do,” I suggested, leading her to a soft armchair. I pulled up one beside her. She leaned against me, sighing heavily.
“You’re right,” she muttered, then sat up straight again. She began ruffling through the pamphlets before her, each featuring a different profession. “You yourself seem to be Mr. Cool. Do you have any ideas?”
I stared at her, eyebrow cocked suggestively. “You could be a mother.” It was the first thought that came into my head.
She stopped and turned. “A mother.” She glanced at me skeptically.
I nodded and drew her face closer to mine and kissed her forehead lightly. “You’d be good at it.” Trailing my fingers down her shoulder, I melted into the shadows, feeling quite pleased with myself. Hermione
I found myself in the library once again, studying with Draco on a couch. My mind was getting quite a bit of exercise from this. Draco seemed to think so too, because he slammed the book down on the table, scaring me half to death.
“I’m tired of studying,” he announced. “Let’s stop for now.”
“And do what, exactly?” I asked. I did welcome this break but knew we should be revising more.
He raised one eyebrow in that way I found very seductive and smirked. “A little snog seems good to me.” He really didn’t give me much of a choice; pushing me down onto the couch, he planted his lips on mine.
I didn’t—couldn’t—resist, of course. It seemed as though he held some kind of charm on me that didn’t want me to pull away. My fingers traced down his neck, down his chest. He mumbled and continued to kiss me, more avidly than he ever had before. I must admit it felt good—really good.
“Mione, what’s the Gryffindor common room password, anyways?” he asked between kisses.
I paused for a second. That was sure random. “Why do you ask?” I inquired, cocking my eyebrow.
He slightly shifted his position on top of me, grinding his knee into my lower thigh, which hurt but felt good at the same time. “Do I need a reason?” he murmured in my ear.
Chuckling, I shook my head. “Alright. It’s Baruffio. Happy?”
I could feel his head nodding slowly before we continued snogging.
We kissed for I don’t know how long; I didn’t want to stop, though. Half of his robes were already off when a sharp voice interrupted us. It belonged to Madam Pince. “Mr. Malfoy! Miss. Granger!”
Draco yelped, climbed off me, and slipped his shirt and outer robes back on.
“The library is only to be used for studying, working, and doing productive things in general, not…not for reckless physical acts. Good grief, control yourselves, or I will report you to the Headmaster!” Swatting Draco on the head with a claw-like hand, she practically chased us out of the library. As we sprinted out, we could hear her grumbling very loudly to herself.
“She’s just jealous,” Draco whispered in my ear, and kissed my neck in a fluid motion that made my nerves tingle as we slowed to a walk down the corridor. I found myself outside of the prefect bathroom.
