Hogwarts RPG Name: Janet Lynn Gordon Fifth Year | Werecats are people too! Reader of Fan Fictions Emily Black: Thanks Emily. I'm glad to have you reading my story. You're such a talented writer yourself. I really enjoy your, Meet You Under The Moon-Sa16+ in the High Security Vaults. Quote:
Awe, I can't wait to see their reunion! I know it's precious!
Hehehe, you have to wait a little while longer.
Thanks Emily
MissWeasley: Hey Katie Girl! Thanks for reading and commenting! Quote:
The fact that you openly discuss the idea that a pet, or any animal for that matter, most surely has feeling and a conscience is a stroke of pure genius. It is sad how some animals are treated today, as possessions, rather than living things. The fact that you have brought them to life and given them thoughts and feelings, adds great dimension to your story and allows people to wonder of its truths. Great job!
Here is a little clue, sense you mentioned this in particular. This that you have just mentioned, not the part about my stroke of genius, is a foundation for the Epilogue. Quote:
Connie! Are they finally going to get to meet? Like two star-crossed lovers in the night... seperated only by their different destinies, but ultimately meant to be together... sigh... I can't wait... *sniff.. sniff...* *wipes a way a tear of joy and hope...*
Okay so... next week, right... I'll be here... you'll be here... you bring the beverages... and I'll bring the snacks? Can't wait Connie! Exceptional chapter, as always!
Ummm, Sounds familiar, "Meet You in Seattle?" maybe? I don't know, sounded nice though. It goes really well with my story.
OK! I could go for some Banana Cream Pie, but that's not much for snacks, but come ahead, and we'll munch and crunch, and have some chocolate milk? Thanks sweetie.
TheChosenOne: Hello Kate! Thanks for joining us here. I love new readers, especially when they comment! Quote:
New reader!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!! I only just discovered your story because usually I stay in the HSV but Omg!!!!! AMAZING MUCH??????? I love the idea with the werecats and I love the way you write!!!!! It's so great, I'll keep an eye out for more!!!! PAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Kate*
Don't hurt yourself! Take a deep breath, and calm down. Thank you for all the nice things you've said, and I'm loving the excitement you bring, but, I'm not deserving all of it I'm sure. But thank you. If there's anything you don't understand please ask me, I'll be happy to help you understand.
Obi-Wan K'Lari: K'Lari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! Welcome back! Been missing you so much! Quote:
So, first off, wouldn't it be hilarious if Harry was super buff under Dudley's huge clothing?
That would be hilarious! But, wow, what if he had been?! Dudley would have been singing a different tune yes? Quote:
Although I'm not sure Hermione would know enough about Avada Kedavra until fake Moody's demo to guess it was Lily's death.
Actually I was careful to think of that when I wrote it. My thinking is that Hermione told Harry when she met him she knew all about him. He being in books and all. I'm sure it would have said in those books how his parents died. And in the books, she did know all about the curses when fake Moody taught. Quote:
I wonder, can young werekittens control their power? As in, couldn't Tom Jr. suddenly transform into werecat mode at random times?
For the most part, Crookshanks will be teaching him what his powers, are and how they are to be used. Yes, he does have the ability to transform fully. The thing is, he has no idea he can. It is born into them that they be able to protect themselves immediately after birth. It is very dangerous to be a werecat. It is only on instinct of harm coming to them that they can transform before they know about their magic. This chapter tonight will show more about werecats.
Tina6080: Hey there sweetie! Yes! How about that!?!?!?!?!!?! I know you'll bring him up well. Just like Lily did with our Tom. (Only, lucky you, you get yours when he is still a kitten. Watch out for his claws.)
Harita: Your Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed you so much! I'm so happy your free of your practicals and exams! I know you did very well on them. Thanks for reading and commenting, and I'm glad your enjoying the story still.
Derfel: Hey Owen, thanks for coming. I know you get awful busy. I'm glad you look forward to reading more. Quote:
"Dobby the midwife" and "Dobby the Guardian"?
Well, when you put it that way... Oh well, I wanted somebody reliable, and I wanted to have a foundation for later on so I can use Dobby without just throwing him into the story. I love Dobby! Quote:
Ooh, thanks for your kinds words about my ff.
You're very welcome. I'm happy to, because you have a most excellent story, and I can't wait to read your next chapter.
OK folks, thank you to everyone reading and staying with me, and thanks to all my new readers whether you comment or not. It makes my day when I check my view count and see I have readers.
Next Thursday, chapter 31, "What's Love Got to do With it?"
CHAPTER THIRTY
Sirius and a Fully Transformed Crookshanks
Crookshanks Apparated into the Shrieking Shack to find Sirius pacing the floor.
“You’re looking much better since you’ve the use of your wand.” Crookshanks transformed into Jim and smiled at Sirius. “You’ve been home then to get some clean clothes and bedding I see.”
“Yes, I took a chance of going and getting some clothes. My prison rags were worn bare through and filthy. When I took them off, they crawled off on their own. A hot bath and a shave did wonders for me. And Jim! Oh the wonders and bliss of a toothbrush and toothpaste! Toilet paper! You just can’t imagine how human and civilized I’m beginning to feel.”
“I’m happy for you, but were you very careful not to be seen? Isn’t there a house elf there to take care of the manor for the family?
Sirius looked angry only for an instant. “It’s been alone and senile for years more than likely, probably living in my mother’s bedroom crying in an old pair of her bloomers, oblivious to the world. Or maybe it’s dead somewhere if I’m lucky. Even if it was there, it is bound to the Black family and forbidden to leave there.”
“Jim, tell me about Harry. Dobby has been telling me some fantastic stories about him. Is he learning to be a great and powerful wizard?” A smile came across his handsome face, just as would be the case if Sirius had been the true proud father. “Does he play Quidditch? I’m sure he flies well. I still remember a picture and letter Lily sent me. He was so happy and proud of himself. She also said he nearly killed you one time.”
“Yeah, well, I taught him to fly you know, and that particular time she was speaking of, I had a ball in my mouth, and I was running around making him chase after it. I had told him that if he touched the ball, then he would be the best flyer in the world. I misjudged his abilities, and once as I was turning away from him, he anticipated my next move and as to make sure he touched the ball he rammed both of his little hands in my mouth wrapping his fingers not only around the ball, but my canine teeth also.”
Sirius was laughing so hard tears welled up in his eyes. “Surely,” Sirius said still chortling, “Lily exaggerated the whole thing. That wouldn’t have nearly killed you. But still, that must have been terrible!”
“Oh it was way more insidious than the letter tells. I couldn’t let loose of the ball because he had my teeth right?”
“Yeah, right,” said Sirius wanting more of the story and wiping his wet eyes. “What happened?”
“Well, he wouldn’t let loose either, and as I was mid jump when he “became the world’s best flyer,” he tried to shake me off. But he had my canines like I said, and he’s still flying. Here I am hanging by my teeth, flying into the lamp, the bookshelf, the magazine rack and the footstool, and I know he is about to fall off, and he did. One of his knees came down on my foot, and the other knee came down on my tail. The rest of his body fell onto the rest of me. I was completely under him.”
“Oh man, that had to have hurt!” said Sirius becoming grave.
“Do you know what instinctively happens when a cat is being hurt?” Jim asked Sirius quietly, and looking like the memory was causing great pain. As Sirius shook his head Jim continued.
“They bear their teeth with their mouth open, their claws extract, their hair stands on end, they scratch and bite whatever is harming them to defend themselves and run away. When a werecat is being hurt, we instinctively and instantly transform. Our canine teeth protrude into massive fang like teeth, and our claws extract like hooked blades of steel. Our hair stands on end like porcupine quills, and our tail elongates and can be used as a lethal whip. We grow to an enormous size and have the strength in our muscles to overwhelm any enemy that comes against us in mere seconds. And we don’t run away. We kill what is hurting us. As a matter of fact,” and at this point, Jim turned into a fully transformed werecat, “this is what the enemy sees a second before he dies.”
Sirius scrambled to his feet and backed away from Jim, very much shaken. He stared at Jim, and asked, “What are you called when you’re in this form?”
“Death.”
“But, have you been this way very much before? In this form?”
“I have.”
“And did you, I mean to say, umm…”
“I did.”
“Did you ever when you were with James and Lily?”
“Once on the day Harry accidentally caused it, and another time I was about to, but failed. It was the night Voldemort killed James and Lily. I was about to pounce on him, transforming in mid jump when he, in a split second, performed a spell that caved in my ribs. This kept me from getting the great amount of oxygen I needed to transform. It also caused internal bleeding.” Jim looked at Sirius with conviction, saying, “If it were not for Peter yelling out to warn his master, I would have killed Voldemort that night. But, he saw me coming at him from his side. You are the only person alive who has seen me in this form, and not been in danger of dying.”
“But Harry saw you this way…”
“GEROAR! And he very nearly died!” he snapped his tail with a report of a whip. “I told you when it is a matter of transforming from being hurt, the attacker always dies! Luckily, when my head enlarged to support my massive jaws and huge canine teeth, his hands slipped off of my teeth, (he kept a hold of the ball mind you). I did claw him that day. It was just one time, and I was pulling away from him because I recognized him almost too late, but I still hurt him, and he got very sick from it. And I nearly died because I transformed back to Tom too quickly so Lily wouldn’t see me. I dropped to the floor, passed out from too much blood pumping hard and fast to supply a much larger animal the adrenaline and blood it needed to kill. And if I hadn‘t been able to slow it down, I would have died. GEROAR!”
Sirius, very white in the face, looked at the beast in front of him. “Calm down, just calm down now, I’ve got the picture. Do you think you can turn back into Jim, or Crookshanks, Jim, actually is good?”
“Sorry,” he said, transforming back into Jim. “I know that I came within a fraction of a second from killing Harry that day. I still, to this day, have nightmares about it every time I sleep.”
Sirius saw the anguish on Jim’s face and felt empathy for him. He knew what it was like to live a nightmare for years. “Here now,” he said sympathetically, sitting down on the bed, and patting the mattress beside him. “Come here son and sit down.” Jim obeyed and Sirius put his arm around his small shoulders to comfort him. Tears flowed from Jim’s eyes falling to the floor. “Listen to me Jim, I know you came very close to killing Harry, and admittedly, I don’t know why he didn’t get scared to death when he saw you. But, the fact remains that you were able to keep from killing him, and you took the pain rather than killing him. He had his hands in your mouth, and you were able to keep from hurting him. Come on now son, it was a close call, but your love for him kept you from hurting him, and you sacrificed yourself to keep from killing him.” Sirius wiped Jim’s tears away and softly rubbed his back, then patted his shoulder. Still, tears fell, so Sirius just held and rocked him tight against him, silently comforting Jim ‘til his tears subsided.
“Everything better now?” he asked Jim as he smiled kindly upon him.
“Yes, thank you Sirius. You’re a good human. It’s no wonder why James loved you as a brother.”
“Umm, sure Jim, and when you start thinking about that, just think quickly about other flying lessons you had with Harry. Did you have any more lessons after that one?”
“Yeah we did, but never again did I put anything in my mouth for him to get. And there were many times he caught me. Sometimes it was by an ear or my tail, once even by my whiskers, and we both survived.”
“That’s great, those are fun memories.” Sirius was nodding his head and smiling, as he imagined the stories in his head. “And now, you get to see Harry as a lad growing into manhood. According to Dobby, he’s already done more than most grown men, and he’s a very great and powerful wizard!” Sirius laughed as he conveyed Dobby’s exaggerations to Jim.
Jim didn’t laugh, but said, “Harry is more powerful than he realizes. His magic is strong and he has yet tapped into that strength. He learns spells and charms quickly for the most part, but he has amazing reasoning skills. He is wonderful to be around, and I greatly resent the fact that James and Lily was deprived of being allowed to raise him in love the way they wanted to. His life with the Dursley’s was a horrible existence. I made it over there from time to time to check on him. I mixed in with Mrs. Fig’s cats on dates I knew Harry would have to be there.”
“Anyway, I need to fill you in on things at hand, and get back up to the castle. Hey, guess what! I just found out I’m to be a father, and my Love is here in the castle!” Jim said proudly, reaching up and ruffling his hair as he’d seen James do so many times.
Sirius’s eyes twinkled with the grin on his face. He remembered the last time he had seen James do this was just shortly before his death at an Order meeting, bragging on his little man’s flying abilities.
Jim told Sirius how he had been giving Scabbers a rough way to go, and he’s thinking that soon, Peter will lose his nerve, and try to make a run for it. Then they’ll have him.
“I still think we should tell Dumbledore of our plans Sirius. He could get him now, instead of us running the risk of losing him.”
“No, we can’t do that. We can’t involve Dumbledore at all. If it’s found out that he’s been willingly aiding and abetting a fugitive then it’ll be bad for him. He’ll lose all his accreditations, and his being Headmaster of Hogwarts. He’d also, I’m sure, be sent to Azkaban. No, we must not tell him. I know we are taking a risk of Peter getting away, but we’ll just catch him if he does.”
“I’ll have to be careful not to scare him when the kids are around anymore though. Tonight, Ron got really angry at me, for a little cat and mouse chase we had. I better just chase him when the kids are in their classes. It’s more fun that way anyway. They have both taken to shutting us in our cages for our own safety. I can get out of any locked place. I go to the boys’ dorm and torment Scabbers, something fierce! He begs and pleads for me to leave him be. He makes a real mess of himself.” Jim laughed hard. “It does my heart good to see him so terrified. I’m going to miss the fun after I kill him,” said Jim with an evil grin on his face.
“After I kill him!” interjected Sirius.
“Well, whatever. We just have to make sure we do it when the coast is clear… Wait a minute! What are we saying? We are letting our lust of killing him cloud our thinking. We can’t kill him. We must take him to Dumbledore like we planned.”
Sirius looked nettled. “Yeah, well, I’ve been thinking, and if I get a chance, I’m killing him.”
“Don’t be a fool! We need him alive to clear your name, so you and Harry can be together like James asked of you that day playing basket ball. Do you remember? He asked you to be his Godfather that day if anything happened to them. To raise and love Harry. You said you would. Things were taken out of your hands and now we have a chance to put them right again.” Jim scowled at Sirius. “And also, there’s the matter of you getting together with Lissydove. It’s arranged for tomorrow night.” Jim told Sirius about the arrangements he made with Dobby and Lissydove. This made Sirius calm down instantly.
“I’m so excited to see her, but I must say, I’m somewhat hesitant,” he said with a weary look on his face. “She had every right to forget I existed-”
“And yet she didn’t,” put in Jim. He told Sirius of the first day of term, the Dementor attack on Harry and the sickness his claws caused Ron to get. He told the anxious man in front of him, of his conversation with Lissy. How she had repeatedly tried to make herself go see him every day in Azkaban ‘til she had to stop going, because of the great depression she was getting herself into.”
Sirius listened intently as Jim told him everything. He was greatly disturbed when Jim finished. “She’s a wonderful woman, and it’s not fair she had to go through so much. When I see her, I’m going to see if she’ll marry me. We wanted to after James and Lilly did. Things were getting so bad; I told her we needed to wait so I could concentrate on helping James and the Order. I was wrong in doing that. We should have gotten married right then. James and Lily could have been there—”
“Sirius, there’s no point in this torture. Let’s just make the best of what’s at hand now. Marry her now if you want, just realize the life you’re subjecting her to. It would be risky to ask a minister to marry you, because you’re an escaped convict, and this isn’t exactly a Honeymoon Suite. Where do you plan on living? Just think on these things before tomorrow night.”
“You’re right again,” said Sirius in a defeated voice. He looked up with a smile on his face with renewed hope. “We’ll get everything worked out. For now, we’ll just get to know each other again. It’ll be great.”
Jim got up to leave and turned to him with a smile on his face. “Well, have fun planning your date for tomorrow night.”
“Jim! I’m sorry, but why wasn’t I told about Harry being attacked on the train by the Dementors?”
“Well, I just found you, and you were in awful shape. You needed to get yourself built back up. Dobby has said you are just now completely mended. It’s why we’ve waited ‘til now for you to see Lissy. Oh, and if you want, the kids will be going into Hogsmeade tomorrow. Harry is to be confined to the castle though, so you don’t break in and kill him.”
“Your point?” Sirius laughed
“If you change into the beast within you, you can sneak down to the Quidditch pitch and watch him fly. He’s pretty bummed out about not getting to go to Hogsmeade with his friends. I heard him telling Ron earlier today he was going to sneak out his broom and do some flying while they’re gone. He always feels better when he’s flying. You’ll really enjoy watching him, he really is a magnificent flyer, the best in the world,” he added with a grin.

Connie!
Excellent chapter, as always! Things are really starting to move forward now, and I can't wait! Okay so, I'll bring the pies: Banana Cream, Coconut, Chocolate and pizza, and you can bring the milk and... cough, cough, water!
Now, down to business... Quote:
“Yeah, well, I taught him to fly you know,"
So, Tom taught Harry to fly? I oftened wondered about that, since wizards aren't supposed to use magic outside of school... but I guess since Tom did it, there's kind of a grey area... right? Quote:
“Do you know what instinctively happens when a cat is being hurt?” Jim asked Sirius quietly.
Holy Smokes, Connie! I love your description of a werecat's transformation! I'm just glad that I've never come across one. So, why doesn't Harry remembeer it? Was he too young or tramatized maybe? Quote:
, “If it were not for Peter yelling out to warn his master, I would have killed Voldemort that night."
I wish Tom had killed Voldemort, but then, I guess Rowling wouldn't have had much of a story, right? But just think... if he had... sigh... Quote:
“Come here son and sit down.” Jim obeyed and Sirius put his arm around his small shoulders to comfort him. Tears flowed from Jim’s eyes falling to the floor.
This was just to precious Connie. Sirius, a man who is so broken and hurt inside, still has the ability to love and comfort a fellow hurting soul, even if it is the soul of a werecat. Sirius is a real man, a man of compassion and substance. Quote:
“And also, there’s the matter of you getting together with Lissydove. It’s arranged for tomorrow night.” Jim told Sirius
Connie!!!! Is it time? Is Sirius really and truly finally going to see his Lissydove? I can't wait! It seems like I've been waiting forever for this to happen. If Sirius is able to be so compassionate with Tom, a stranger, I can't begin to imagine his reaction when he finally sees his one true love!
Excellent work, Connie! I can't wait until next week! Don't forget the grub... I'll invite: Owen, Stephanie, Tina, Emily and the rest of the crew...

Hogwarts RPG Name: Janet Lynn Gordon Fifth Year | Werecats are people too! Reader of Fan Fictions Hello, and to all my readers, each and every one; Thank you so very much for your loyalty and devotion you show me by reading my story. I humbly thank you, and wish to thank the ones who nominated our story here. I do love my story, it is very precious to me, and I am honored for it's nominations. Thank you, even if this is as far as the nominations get. I'd like to extend a congratulations to each of SS's many talented writers who have tremendous stories, and of course to the ones who have been nominated. Good luck to each, and may the mightiest pen win.

Yea, A party and I'm invited! I'm drooling all over myself just thinking about all those pies. Blackberry and Peach pies are great too! Quote:

Yeah, I think umm, maybe in the second book, when the twins and Ron flew the car to get Harry, they told Harry flying isn't considered a magic rule, because so many family's depend on it. I think she (JK) had to put that in there cause clearly the rule would have been broken, by all the Quidditch playing so many of them do at home on the holidays. And all the kids toy brooms that fly like Harry's when he was little, and like we saw at the Quidditch World Cup. Quote:
So, why doesn't Harry remembeer it? Was he too young or tramatized maybe?
Yeah, remember when Ron got sick, and Crookshanks had to make a memory adjustment on Harry? Remember Crookshanks telling Lissydove that he's had to modify Harry's memory before? Well, that was the time when he had to modify it. Later, though we find it's been modified more than that. Quote:

I believe with all my heart every being has been empowered to be able to do this. It is only if we decide we want to if we do or not. Quote:

Now next week fasten the seatbelts on your brooms or enchanted cars, cause we fly right out of canon, except for a few landmark highlights to show where we are in the story. Hope you enjoy it, cause I had a blast writing it. Chapter 32, "Strawberry Fields Forever" See ya next Thursday evening!
CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
What’s Love Got to Do with It?
The next morning Ron, Harry, and Hermione met in the common room before going to breakfast. It was a very chilly greeting to each Ron and Hermione. Sarcastic pleasantries were made, not for the sake of conversation or friendliness, but to inflict hurtful stabs at one another with words.
“Good morning Ron, Harry, how are you two this lovely morning, and Ron, how is Scabbers?”
“Good, I’m good,” answered Ron, and before he could continue Hermione spoke again.
“Good!” Both of them were talking over Harry’s response, not even noticing he was there.
“Scabbers is on the mend from his fun and games last night with Crookshanks. He nearly died from all the fun he had.”
Hermione’s face reddened, but she answered shrewdly, “Oh good, I’m so glad. Maybe they can play more later today, after we return from Hogsmeade. Get him back in shape. It can’t be healthy for him always cowering, I mean sleeping all the time.”
Ron’s ears were getting close to the same shade of red as his unkempt hair. “Well, he wouldn’t need so much sleep if he didn’t constantly have to provide entertainment for your monster!”
“Great!” Harry said, glaring at his two warring friends, and a little louder than he needed to. Ron and Hermione looked at him startled. “You asked how I was. I’m great you’re both great and the pets are great! Could the two of you just kiss and make up so we can go have breakfast?”
Ginny walked across the room trying to get by Harry un-noticed. “’Lo Ginny, care to have breakfast with me? I could really use some good company. How ’bout it?” he said, glaring at Ron and Hermione. He took Ginny’s arm and escorted her to the Great Hall, without waiting for her response. He figured her stopping was just her waiting for Ron and Hermione to stop and join them. Actually she stopped because she was mortified that Harry noticed her and didn’t know what to do. When he took her arm she was flushed and all flustered, and were it not for the fact that Harry had her arm in the crook of his arm while he chatted pleasantly to her, she would still be frozen to the spot where he said, “’Lo Ginny.” Now with her heart throb escorting her, she felt like she was just floating beside him, as if she was one of the ghosts floating in the halls of Hogwarts.
“So, what are you going to do while everyone else is in Hogsmeade?” he asked pleasantly, and smiled at her as he turned to look at her.
“Um, I don’t know,” she managed to say, and was startled that he asked.
As he looked at her, his smile ebbed away. She was all white and looked quite terrified. He hadn’t noticed until just then how his conversation with her had been one sided. Then he remembered that Ginny was like a church mouse whenever he was around. That first year he met the Weasley family at their house, Ginny had run off when she had seen him. Ron had said she liked him. Then, last year, he had saved her in the secret chamber from Tom Riddle. She had bled her soul to that diary about her being so much in love with him, Harry Potter. He didn’t think she knew that Riddle had told her that he knew of her feelings for him. He always went out of his way to be kind to her, but was that it? Was she angry at him for knowing what the diary said? Or maybe she was just so uncomfortable around him because he is a constant reminder of that terrible memory.
The realization of this caused a brutal pain in his heart. “It hurts her to be around me; and here I am dragging her with me like there wasn‘t a thing in the world wrong,” he thought. He had really been enjoying being with her too. With extreme heartbreak, he released her arm.
“Here we are.” He smiled kindly at her and said, “Ginny, I’m sorry I hauled you off with me, without even waiting for you to answer me. Well, anyway,” he smiled another weak smile, “you don’t have to sit with me. You can sit with your friends.” And he gently squeezed her hand, which he had caught when he let go of her arm. He looked deep into her eyes and was thankful that they didn’t say, “I hate you, leave me alone,” but he couldn’t tell what they did say. He gave the top of her hand a little rub and pat with his other hand and let it go. She turned red in the face and started breathing hard. He was kicking himself for causing so much discomfort for her. She managed a quick nervous smile and turned quickly away causing her hair to fan his face. Exhilaration ran through his body as he watched her run off to her friends.
Suddenly Harry felt all alone and not at all in the mood for eating. He fell into a serious state of funk. “Odd, this,” he thought. He was thinking of how fresh and sweet she smelled. Her hair was thick and silky, and so pretty with the life it showed as she ran off. He saw her now laughing with her blonde Ravenclaw friend as he turned to leave. “Is this the way my life is to be? I grew up without love, and now I’m to be denied love again.” He didn’t know that it bothered him so much. But, just these couple of minutes he spent walking and talking with Ginny (he glanced back at her, then walked away), he knew it did in fact bother him very much.
Harry was about to reach the large wooden doors to go outside to find solitude and ponder his reason for existing. He felt Crookshanks weave his body against and around his legs. He stooped down and sat on one heel.
“’Lo Shanks. How is it you always know when I need a friend?” He smiled, pet the cat, and rubbed his face as he talked quietly to Crookshanks. He ran his hands over his back and carefully over his ribs, then gently over his hips and hind legs. “You don’t seem any worse for the wear from Ron kicking you and throwing you across the room last night. I’m glad he didn’t hurt you. I had a few words with him after Hermione left with you. He said he hoped he didn’t hurt you, and that it is natural for cats to chase mice. He still reckons that you have it in for Scabbers though. At any rate, you need to be careful of Ron. I reckon he would lose his head and kill you if you ever did kill Scabbers.”
“Oy! Harry!”
Harry stiffened. “He can’t have heard me,” he whispered to Crookshanks.
Harry turned, and Ron and Hermione, at the same time, called to him again and motioned him to come to them. At least they were smiling and looked normal.
He went back to them with a questioning look on his face. He smiled the only smile he could muster up at his friends. It was a very sad smile, but he tried to cover it up and sound cheerful when they told him he was going the wrong way.
“Breakfast is this way mate.” Ron motioned with his hand toward the Great Hall.
“Come on Harry, Ron and I promise to behave,” Hermione said cheerfully.
Harry laughed. “Ah, yeah, I’m skipping it this morning. I’m off for a walk, but hey, have a blast at Hogsmeade today, and bring me back some treats from that Honeydukes shop you told me about.” The smile he left them with was a genuine smile, and he thought to himself that he wasn’t without love all together. His best mate Ron, his family (with the exception of Ginny), and Hermione loved him, and he knew he loved them.

I loved this bit I love sarcasm, as I've said before, and I loved this sentence. Quote:
Hermione’s face reddened, but she answered shrewdly, “Oh good, I’m so glad. Maybe they can play more later today, after we return from Hogsmeade. Get him back in shape. It can’t be healthy for him always cowering, I mean sleeping all the time.”
Haha, Hermione's great! I loved this bit too, especially the cowering bit Quote:
Could the two of you just kiss and make up so we can go have breakfast?”
Haha, I Harry. He just makes me laugh, especially when you give him lines like this Quote:

No, no, Harry, you need to turn around and go after her! Quote:

I loved this line My best friends are everything to me, so I know how he feels. And he definitely shouldn't be ruling Ginny out just yet
Great post, Connie! I can't wait for more! PLEASE PAMS! |

Aw! hehe I've been waiting to read again Ah! I missed you too!!!!!!!!! Quote:
That would be hilarious! But, wow, what if he had been?! Dudley would have been singing a different tune yes?
ahaahahhaha yes, I'd imagine Life would have been so much better for Harry Quote:
Actually I was careful to think of that when I wrote it. My thinking is that Hermione told Harry when she met him she knew all about him. He being in books and all. I'm sure it would have said in those books how his parents died. And in the books, she did know all about the curses when fake Moody taught. lol, you're probably right, I'd have to dig up my GoF to be sure and I'm lazy but the green light? Would that be in books? Quote:
For the most part, Crookshanks will be teaching him what his powers, are and how they are to be used. Yes, he does have the ability to transform fully. The thing is, he has no idea he can. It is born into them that they be able to protect themselves immediately after birth. It is very dangerous to be a werecat. It is only on instinct of harm coming to them that they can transform before they know about their magic. This chapter tonight will show more about werecats.
eeeeeeeeeppppppppppppp werekittens are scary! but still oddly cute Quote:

Connie!
This was a great chapter, shorter than usual though... It was sort of like a little break in the story; a time for us to get to know the characters and their feelings a little better. I enjoyed it. Quote:

Ooooh, I loved Hermione's sarcasm; she even puts me to shame. Isn't it sinful how something that sounds so sweet and kind is actually meant to cut and hurt? The power of a word is somethig that people should really think about before speaking.... Quote:
When he took her arm she was flushed and all flustered, and were it not for the fact that Harry had her arm in the crook of his arm while he chatted pleasantly to her, she would still be frozen to the spot
I was truly mad at Ginny here. If she had only used this opportunity to speak-up... Quote:

Uuuugh!!!! You stupid, young, naive boy! Don't you see she loves you? Grrrr!!!! Comminication, people! A little communication is all that is needed here! Never, and I mean never, try to figure out what a girl is thinking... if you don't know, just ask! Enough said... Quote:
“Is this the way my life is to be? I grew up without love, and now I’m to be denied love again.”
Now, this is not the brave, confident Harry that we normally see, and I am a little taken aback. I guess everyone can have a moment of self-doubt... I just hope he snaps out of it quick! Quote:

Now, this is my Harry, of course people love him; he just has to find them! And Ginny??? Well, we all know how she really feels; so, nothing to worry about, right?
Excellent chapter Connie. Mind you, I'm a little sad that Sirius, Lissydove (and I) have to wait for the... reunion... sighs...

Great post, Connie! I can't wait for more! PLEASE PAMS!
Thanks Emily for all the sweet things you say. I'm glad you loved it. Harry doesn't get many one liners, cause Ron delivers them so well. But, here in this instance I thought I could afford Harry one. Thank you.
Obi-Wan K'Lari: Hey K'Lari! Love seeing you here. Thank you so much for reading! Quote:

Yes, I believe so. One of the ways to recognise it is the green light, and, well you know... the recipient dies. Quote:

Glad you enjoyed it. Tonights chapter isn't so short. You better break out the snacks for this one. Quote:

Ah, but Katie, you'll have to forgive her. She is only 12 years old here remember. Things are very scary and sometimes when a good thing comes along so unexpectantly, you are just so stunned that you don't know how to react. I remember the first time Steve, (hubby) kissed me. I wasn't expecting it. I wanted it, but thought it would never happen. And then all at once he put his arms around me and kissed me full on the lips! When I opened my eyes, I saw stars! Well, ok, I admitt it was mid-night and you would expect to see stars. But I remember noticing how beautiful and brilliant each one was, and I thought surely they were shining down on only me and Steve right then. I couldn't move, and when Steve moved away from me, I fell into him. He caught me gently and asked was I alright. I tell you, I was 19 years old at that time, and I felt just like Ginny did. I will never forget it. Oh dear! Pleaase forgive my ramblings, I was trying to make a point, but let's move on. Quote:
Now, this is not the brave, confident Harry that we normally see, and I am a little taken aback. I guess everyone can have a moment of self-doubt... I just hope he snaps out of it quick!
I think Harry knows he's treading in territory he knows nothing about. He as far as he knows has no knowledge of having any love in his life. He doesn't know how it feels. I'm sure he will come around. Quote:
Excellent chapter Connie. Mind you, I'm a little sad that Sirius, Lissydove (and I) have to wait for the... reunion... sighs...
Thank you sweetie. Shall I start a count down to the Reunion chapter? And by the way, "The Reunion" happens to be the name of that chapter. And it is chapter 40. So, after tonights chapter it is 7 more chapters.
Prongs.RJGirl: Hey Tina! So glad you're still here! Quote:
Awww, I just wish Ginny and Harry both knew what the other was thinking.
Yeah Tina, I think one of the most precious things about young love is finding out about each others feelings. Ginny is very sure about her feelings and has been for a while, right. And poor Harry does have these feelings, but he doesn't have a clue he does. I think he always just tries to make it easy on Ginny by staying away from her, cause she was always clumsy and embarrassed whenever he was around. Then thinking the Diary made it worse for her, he just didn't think about how he felt about her. Thanks for reading Tina.
Harita? Where are you? Hope everything is well, and I miss you. Congratulations on your nomination for the Goblin Award.
OK I hope I haven't missed anyone. To all my readers, thank you so much for staying with me. And I hope you're hanging on tight, cause we're going flying tonight. Next week is chapter 33, "Judgement Falls On The Innocent"
CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO
Strawberry Fields Forever
A/N * “Strawberry Fields Forever” is a Beetles song, and fits nicely with the next two chapters or so. “Strawberry Fields is a state of mind… a place that only the individual who is there can truly know. (No one I think is in my tree…) It is a statement of recognition of the fact that no one can truly know the conscious mind of another. And it is a surrender to, and acceptance of, that fact. At the same time it is an expression of longing to have the ability to truly share your conscious experience with another.” -Anonymous
Harry meandered around for awhile and was later seen walking to the Quidditch Pitch, his broom carried on his shoulder, and in his other hand he was juggling a lemon. He walked down with his head hanging as he was deep in thought. He didn’t notice a big black dog watching him from a stand of trees nearby. He also didn’t see a young red headed girl sneaking down behind him.
“That’s the young Weasley child I had seen in the picture with that article,” Sirius thought. “Brings back the days when James would -Now would you look at that!” Harry had dropped the lemon on the ground, jumped on his broom, and took off for the sky. “He can fly, he really is good.” Sirius changed into human form when he entered the pitch so he could better watch Harry.
“Just like a proud Papa you are,” said Crookshanks
“Oh, I didn’t know you were here.”
“Yes, I enjoy watching him whenever he sneaks out. I also wanted you to know that I just had a chat with Scabbers. He’s ’bout had it, scared out of his mind. I told him you are here on the grounds, and you are planning on killing him. You should have seen him. He said you wouldn’t kill him, that you need him alive to prove his innocence. He actually started crying when I told him you didn’t care about that, that you just want him dead. But, of course,” Crookshanks eyed Sirius carefully, “he doesn’t know that I made up that story to loosen him up for his downfall. You’re remembering that, right?”
Smack! Sirius slapped his neck. “The mosquitoes are bad today. Have you noticed?” he asked, not taking his eyes off of Harry.
Crookshanks was watching Sirius and waiting for some kind of response.
Sirius was still watching Harry then turned his face to Crookshanks. “If you catch him, do with him what you will, but, if I catch him, I’m killing him.”
“Why would you risk proving your innocence like that?” Crookshanks asked irritably.
“Because of him!” he said in anger, pointing at Harry. They both watched Harry as he was just coming out of a loop-de-loop going right into a high velocity corkscrew. When he was about two feet off the ground, he hooked his feet behind him and pulled down, simultaneously pulling up on his broom in front of him. He balanced his broom, and in one motion, rolled sideways and snatched up the lemon he had dropped on the field. Then he darted up and around the spectators’ bleachers, elated with his success. He raised his hand showing the nonexistent fans his prize.
Sirius had stopped talking when he pointed at Harry to make his point. “That was the most spectacular piece of skill I’ve seen in my life!” He started breathing again, not realizing he had been holding his breath.
“Yes, well, I have been telling you he was good,” he replied, amused at Sirius’s surprised reaction. “Duck back!” he told Sirius. Harry was coming their way. They stopped talking suddenly, because Harry asked a question. Crookshanks peeked around and saw that Harry was walking up to Ginny with a smile on his face as he asked her something. Crookshanks rejoined Sirius and whispered that he was talking to Ginny.
“What?” she said quietly and very much embarrassed.
“I wanted to know if you saw me catch the snitch?” he said with a winning smile.
“Oh, if you are referring to that lemon as a snitch, then, yeah I did,” she said returning his smile. “You fly really well.”
“Oddly enough, I don’t think it has much to do with me. I hope you don’t laugh at me when I tell you this, but, I don’t; it just seems like somehow, I feel like I’ve known how to fly all my life. I’m not bragging but, from the first day I gave the command, “up” to the broom, it responded instantly like that.” He snapped his fingers. “And when it came into my hand it was such a charge, like a bolt of lightning went through my whole body. And when that cur, Draco, took Neville’s Rememberall, remember that? Er, no you wouldn’t, you weren’t here then, sorry. Well, anyway, he took the Rememberall, and flew off with it. I, without even thinking about it, jumped on my broom and flew after it. How could I know what to do, if I didn’t already know how to fly? And so, that time and every time I’m on a broom, it just feels like something from my past is with me.”
He stopped talking and looked at Ginny. She was totally mesmerized and was just staring at him. “Umm, Ginny, were you going to say anything? Do you have an opinion on why—are you going to make me repeat all that?” he asked with an eyebrow arched, holding his breath.
Ginny recovered herself and quickly said, “No, I’m sorry. I was just wondering if maybe your dad taught you. Everyone says he was a really great flyer.”
Harry thought about that. “I guess that could be it, but how come I can’t remember anything at all with them? I’ve never even been able to imagine anything associating me with my parents. I mean, I’ve tried thinking of my dad reading to me, or my mom singing lullabies, and you know stuff that I think parents do, and I can’t imagine it. My earliest memories exist with the Dursley’s. But, ever since that Dementor attacked me, and when the carriage passed them entering Hogwarts, I hear and see things.” He paused for just a bit, and Ginny swallowed hard.
“What kind of things?” she asked in little more than a whisper.
“I mean, well, every night I have nightmares. I see brilliant green and red flashes of light, and I hear evil laughing, and someone screaming, screaming with everything that’s in her. More evil laughing and a green light again, and then nothing. It’s every time I shut my eyes, and it is so unnerving. I don’t know why I told you that Gin, I’ve never told anyone, not even Ron.”
Ginny spoke quietly and said, “I won’t tell anyone. Harry, your nightmares are awful. I notice you said that you exist at your Aunt and Uncle’s. Surely it can’t be that bad.”
“It is Gin. They don’t love me. They’re mean and hateful and care nothing about me. I’ve only heard them mention my given name one time in my life, and that was Aunt Petunia when she wanted me to take care of a rose bush. When I started school and people would ask me my name, I said, ‘Potter’. I thought my name was Potter Dursley. I didn’t know, because they only ever called me Potter when they called me anything. Kids laughed at me and had all kinds of fun at my expense. They never bought me clothes; I’ve always worn my cousin’s when they were too small for him. I didn’t know what it was like to see well ‘til I was in the third grade. The teacher kept sending notes home, saying I wouldn’t do the board work. Finally someone had me read an eye chart at school, and they saw I couldn’t see well enough. Then the Dursley’s took me to the Eye Clinic only out of embarrassment. When I put on my glasses, I just looked around at everything. I couldn’t believe how beautiful everything was. Then that first night Dudley snatched my glasses off of my face and broke them at the nose piece. He laughed at my screaming. I was heartbroken. Then he pushed me down the steps and threw my glasses on the stairs’ landing. He yelled out that I was mad at him, fell down the steps, and broke my glasses. That fall broke my arm, and Uncle Vernon said that I’d cost them enough money for a lifetime, and so he set my broken arm himself. It hurt so bad that I passed out. When I came to, my arm was in a very poorly made cast, and my glasses were taped together. I hurt all over, but my arm hurt so badly I wished I had died when Dudley pushed me. I started getting really sick. They said they had to go out that night and made me stay with Mrs. Figg, and I don’t know what happened, but, she called someone, and he came and did something to me and said my arm wasn’t broken. It sounds incredible, but he looked a lot like Dumbledore. I love Dumbledore, don’t you? I can’t remember much at all. Mrs. Figg made up some story how she was giving her cats a bath and she accidentally spilled the water all over my cast, and so she had a doctor put a new one on. All I remember is that when he fixed it, it didn’t hurt at all, and he said it was all mended, but he had to make another cast for the deception. I left the cast on until Uncle Vernon said it was time to take it off. He handed me a hammer and told me to take it off. Anyway,” he said shaking his head to clear it, “they let me know that I was nothing to them but a nuisance and a hardship. The minute I turn seventeen, I’m clearing out. The first thing I’m going to do is find out how I can kill Voldemort, and then do it. I’ll kill anyone else who had a hand in their murders too.” Ginny gasped and jumped backward.
“Gin, are you okay?” He took hold of her arm, thinking she was about to fall over or something. She gasped again at him grabbing her. He let her go quickly, and said he was sorry. “I keep messing up with you, don’t I? Hey, I have a great idea! Wanna go for a spin on my Nimbus?”
“Umm, are you sure you don’t mind?” she asked, her eyes wide with the thought.
“Yeah, sure.” He handed her his broom, and she got on. She was about to take off when Harry told her to “scoot back a smidgen.” As she moved back, Harry swung his leg over. Then he got her hands and put them on his waist and told her to “hang on tight!”
He took off, and she screamed and wrapped her arms around his waist tightly. He looked back over his shoulder at her with a wide smile and asked if she was okay.
She yelled, “Yes,” laughing hard. He took her for a wild ride, but never anything that would hurt her if she was hanging on tightly.
Sirius and Crookshanks looked at each other. Neither one could say anything for a while. Then Sirius pointed at Harry again. Ire showing on his face and in his voice, he said, “He is the reason I’m going to kill Peter if I get a chance. That boy hasn’t lived. He’s thirteen years old and he only exists. He doesn’t remember ever being loved.” Sirius was yelling. But the wrath that was in his voice was replaced with anguish. “Have you ever heard anything as what we just heard?”
Crookshanks turned to watch Harry and Ginny. He was doing some loop-de-loops and some tight turns. They were whooping and laughing, having a blast.
Sirius turned and watched them now also. “They make a cute little couple, don’t they?” Crookshanks asked.
“Yes, they do. They remind me of—”
“Yeah, me too,” finished Crookshanks.
“So, Harry didn’t remember the night his parents were murdered?” Sirius asked “But now, the Dementors activated some memories?”
“Yes, that’s right. I had to put a powerful mind control on him, much like the Memory Charm Dumbledore put on Neville, but without the same affect of uncertainty. The Dementors stirred up some of those memories, and the more he thinks on them, which he obviously does, the more he’ll be able to remember.”
He told Sirius of the night he put everything together, and he and Lissy had to modify his memory again. “The horror and anguish on his face was unbearable. He’ll remember one time, but hopefully when he’s not got so much on his plate, so he can deal with it properly.”
“Shhh! Here they come.”
They watched Harry come down at breakneck speed, level out, and then yell for Ginny to hang on tight. He came right to the spot they took off from, and then Harry whipped his broom into a 360 and slipped off so Ginny could get off also.
“Here we are, back safe and sound,” he said, laughing. “That was so much fun!”
Ginny, though, was trying to get her hair away from her face. Her hair had completely gone wild in the afternoon of flying. Then with the sudden turn around Harry had magnificently maneuvered, her hair had completely gone in her face.
He laughed when he saw her struggling. He kindly said, “Here Gin, let me help you.” He started picking lengths and putting them where they belonged. “I know there’s a pretty face in here somewhere,” he said as he continued straightening her hair. “This is a mess!” he said laughing as his fingers got tangled with Ginny’s. Ginny was beside herself with embarrassment. And finally she just gave up as Harry continued on. He worked his way clear around her, talking the whole time. She couldn’t believe this. First, he escorts her to breakfast, then he rides with her on his broom all afternoon, and now he’s actually talking to her and fixing her hair. She was afraid if she said something it would be something stupid, and he’d realize what an idiot she was and run off.
“You have really pretty hair, Gin. My mum had long, ginger hair. Did you know that? I bet it was beautiful like this.” He picked up the last strand that was hanging over her face. He ran his fingers through the length of it, smiled, and tucked it behind her ear, like she wears it. He picked a thick strand from the top of her head and ran his fingers under it slowly, until he was almost at the bottom. He held it in his hand, leaned in, and smelled it with his eyes closed. “It’s so pretty and soft, and it always smells so good. There, all fixed.” He laughed, “It looks like you just got up, but it is fine now.”
Ginny was looking at him the whole time and couldn’t get over how she always had to look at him from afar when he wasn’t aware of it. Now, though, he was right in front of her with his hands in her hair. “He has such a charming face,” she thought. She always thought he was cute. Now she decided that he was just downright handsome. She felt so nervous, and afraid of talking, afraid she’d say something stupid. She wished her heart would stop thumping so hard and loud in her chest. “Surely he’s going to see and hear it!”
“Gin, Gin,” he was saying “Gin are you alright?”
“What?” she gasped, catching her breath as she looked at him with wild eyes. “I was, I mean—” She was floundering and didn’t know what to do to save herself. “He’s going to think I’m such a child,” she thought, trying desperately to make her brain work. Her chin quivered about to betray her anxiety, and this made her more anxious. “NO! I can’t cry!”
Harry looked into her eyes. She wasn’t crying, but they were wet, and very bright. “Gin, are you okay?” he asked her gently. “Did I pull your hair or something? I’m really sorry if I did.”
“No, Harry, you didn’t, it’s just (she paused thinking quickly) the air in my eyes from flying so fast. The chill always makes my eyes do this.” She smiled at him hoping he bought her lame excuse.
“Oh Gin! I’m such an idiot.” He whipped off his robe and helped her into it attentively. “Here, wear this, it’ll warm you. It is getting cold, isn’t it? Are you okay? It’s getting late. I expect Ron and Hermione are going to be getting back. We’ve missed lunch too. Do you want to stop at Hagrid’s and warm up real quick, or do you just want to run up as fast as we can? Are you okay, Gin?”
She wished he’d quit asking her questions. She would love it if time could be frozen and she could just look at him. But since she couldn’t, she found her voice and said, “No, I’m—” she paused. She couldn’t say she wasn’t that cold, because then she’d have to give back his robe. “fine,” she finished. “This is nice, thank you. But now you’re going to get cold. You’re beautiful; I mean your beautiful T-shirt isn’t enough to keep you warm.” She swallowed hard. “What does it say?”
“Oh, it says, “Love Is the Music My Heart Dances To.” * I thought if I ever get to find out what love feels like then my soul will sing and my heart will dance.”
“Harry, that’s beautiful. I didn’t know that—”
“I’m such a romantic?” he finished with an easy smile on his face. “I don’t think I am, Gin. It’s just I never knew my parents. But, I know they loved me. But that’s the only experience I have about love. Well, I know my friends love me, and your family loves me. But as for loving a girl,” (Ginny’s heart started thumping very hard and loud in her chest and throat again. She felt week in the knees. “Ginny! Don’t ruin this beautiful moment!” she chided herself.) Harry continued, “I don’t have a clue what that‘ll feel like, you know.”
“Yes, I do,” she said throatily, “know. I know what you mean.” She recovered her blunder quickly.
“I’m sure I’ll have heartache, because it’s just natural that you don’t find true love ‘til the right girl, or boy, in your case, comes along, and you fall head over heels in love. When that happens to me, I’ll know what it feels like to live with love. Then my heart will be dancing. I want that Gin. I want that so bad. Don’t you?”
“Yes, I do,” she said knowing that she found true love, and it was standing here close enough to kiss. She smiled, her heart was dancing.
“Well, Gin, we better get up to the castle.” They started walking up, and Harry continued talking. “I guess we’ll need to wait ‘til the weather warms up before we can fly together again. Next time you better tie back your hair, huh!”
“Or cut it off short,” she said laughing.
Harry looked at her in a concerned way. “You wouldn’t cut it, would you? It’s so beautiful.”
“He‘s almost pleading,” she thought. “No, I’ll never cut it,” she said, smiling assuredly.
“Here,” he said, tossing her the lemon. “You can have this as a keepsake to remember the best day of my life.” He laughed at his joke. “Seriously, I’ve had a spectacular day, Gin, and I really enjoyed spending it with you. Thanks a lot.” He leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.
“You should seriously consider trying out for Quidditch next year. You have excellent balance.”
Ginny nodded her head slowly. Any quick movement might cause her to fall over; she was so beside herself with happiness.
“Harry has a handle on life, doesn’t he? He has a lot of good insight.” Sirius and Crookshanks watched the two kids walking up to the castle. They could hear Harry laugh now and then.

Connie,
As always another great chapter. You touched on many points and seem to leave quite a few little hints... I think. First and foremost, thank you for sharing your first kiss with us. You and Steve are both sweethearts, and I knew that he would only be a true gentleman when the time finally came.
I liked how you moved Harry and Ginny's relationship just that little bit along. I realize their ages are against them, but the thought and feelings they express, to the readers, are so true and realistic. Ginny's shyness and Harry'd concern are very endearing, and very age appropriate. The doubt, in each of their hearts, is heart wrenching though.
Now, a question... what is with the lemon? I mean lemons are sour and it's been included in a chapter full of young love. Is it symbolic? How is a sour, little yellow lemon symbolic though? I guess I will have to think more on it. To me, it's pure irony?
I like that Surius is willig to give-up his freedom, due to his love for Harry. Mind you, isn't it also stupid? I mean isn't Sirius the only love Harry will ever receive from a father-figure? Isn't Sirius biting his nose off to spite his face? I guess I will have to wait and see what anger-driven Sirius winds-up doing...
My final question, alas, will unfortunately involve a quote... Quote:
Smack! Sirius slapped his neck. “The mosquitoes are bad today. Have you noticed?” he asked, not taking his eyes off of Harry.
Okay Connie... what's up with the mosquitoes...? Am I reading too much into them? Why are they there...?!?!?! (I don't like 'squitoes!)
So, there you have it! My feelingss in a nutshell. Excellent chapter Connie... how many more until Sirius and Lissydove... Seven??? You know I'm not a patient person right? and I'm not getting any younger...
Keep up the great writing, and great work on your many Goblin nominations. You deserve them!

Hey Connie. You obviously have a good taste in music. I personally love the Beetles. If only they were around nowadays whle I'm growing up. That was a lovely quote too! Just thought I'd say... But sorry I'll get back to the comments... Quote:

“Why would you risk proving your innocence like that?” Crookshanks asked irritably.
“Because of him!” he said in anger, pointing at Harry. It's so sad that Harry doesn't remember Sirius. It would have been nice if Harry could have stayed with him and he didn't need to go to Askaban Quote:

Anyway,” Aww thats so sad! Poor Harry! Quote:

Thank you so much. I love Ginny. I've always thought her mysterious, and I think Bonnie plays her beautifully! We can't hold her liable though for the bad story writing in the movies. It seems she had this adorable crush on Harry all throught the books, then all at once she's this mature girl who's boy crazy, and knows how to be coy and so confident, then she wins over Harry. As my friend Senorita Maxie said to me once...It just seems so rushed, and ewww to me. (not a direct quote)and I agree whole heartily! Now, maybe if we'd been able to see more of Ginny during her period of maturing, it would have been ok. but, anyway thank you. And I do love Ginny and Harry. And is it wrong of me to say, I love them better in my story than the writing of the movies? I just do.
Miss Weasley: Hi there Katie Girl! I'm wondering what you do up there in the heat to keep cool. It's hotter up there than it is here in Florida! Quote:
First and foremost, thank you for sharing your first kiss with us.
I kinda got carried away there. I didn't plan on that at all, but you're welcome. Quote:

I guess I will have to think more on it. To me, it's pure irony? Gee Katie, maybe I should think of something real quick that would be real impressive, but, alas there isn't anything allusive here. I needed for Harry to be able to get something easily, and I needed it to be something small and kinda round with kinda pointed ends, to resemble a snitch, so it could be easily grabbed. It needed to be a bright yellow or gold, so he could see it from a distance on the Quidditch field. And so, I thought of a lemon. That's the truth of it. Quote:

Yes, yes, and yes. There has to be some reason to his maddness, yes? You'll have to see. : They are a bloody nuisance, aren't they. And they're in tonight's chapter as well! Quote:

Sooooo sorry about that! I fixed it, so there shouldn't be anymore problems.
Thank you for reading Sophie, and your comments are wonderful! Oh! And just so you don't get in trouble by the double posting police; Anytime you have anything else to say after you post, just edit it into your one post, then tell me, and I promise I'll read it right away. Plus, I always look through all the posts again just before posting the next chapter. I remember when I was new and I double posted, the moderator fixed it into one post and told me not to double post again. I was scared out of my mind I would get kicked off SS.
Harita:Hello! Hi there! I been missing you! Quote:

I'm so glad you're back! Thank you so much! I'm glad you loved my chapter!
Ok, so to all my readers, thank you for sharing your time with my story, and I'm thrilled each and everyone is reading. I'm so afraid you all are so excited to see Sirius and Lissydove get together, that it will be a letdown when you get to read it. But, for everyone who is curious, I said we'd have a countdown. Yes, after tonight there are six more posts till, "The Reunion" Next weeks chapter, 34 "On Pins and Needles" will be posted Thursday as always, if all goes well. Enjoy tonights chapter.
CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
Judgment Falls On the Innocent
Crookshanks ran till he caught up with Harry and Ginny. “I hope you don’t get sick with a cold or pneumonia or something. It’s so cold since the sun set. I’ve kept you in the cold too long. I can’t believe I did this to you, Gin. Can you forgive me? We still friends? Gin, please don’t leave me, I need you. I…I think I… I do, Ginny, I love you, Gin!”
She couldn‘t believe how upset he was. This was starting to concern her. He was acting very much out of character. She looked at him and smiled gently at his worried face.
“Harry, it’s okay. We just got caught unexpectedly. We let time get away from us. We were having such a good time, just the two of us. It was bound to happen, what with no one around to remind us of the time.”
“I hope nothing comes of this. It’s all my fault. I just climbed on and took off before you had a chance to change your mind. If anything comes of this and Ron finds out, it was me who did it to you, he’ll kill me.” He laughed, easing up on himself after what Ginny told him. “If he does kill me, it’ll have been worth it. The most fun I’ve ever had in my life! Did you enjoy the day?” he asked her.
“Are you kidding? I’ve only dreamed of days like this. It was wonderful!”
Harry and Ginny hadn’t been paying attention as they were caught up in their own little world. They rounded the corner of the castle talking and laughing, when Harry was fore armed in the chest by Ron. Harry caught his breath and had his hand on his chest.
“Ouch!”
“What did you do to Ginny?”
“Ron, what’s…Ron?” He was alarmed at the look on Ron’s face. Harry put up his other hand to show Ron he wasn’t retaliating. He glanced over at Hermione, and she had her hand over her mouth in shock. Harry’s hand being up didn’t stop Ron though. His blood was raging through his body, and he hit down Harry’s hand with his left hand, and threw a haymaker with all the power he had in him with his right. His fist caught Harry under his jaw and knocked him unconscious before he fell to the ground.
“Ron! You great oaf! Look what you’ve done!” Ginny screamed.
“Yeah, Weaslebee, if we’re lucky, maybe you’ve killed him.” Draco smirked and his body guards laughed with him.
Ron rounded on him with his fist rocking back for another haymaker and shouted, “Move on, or you’re next!” Draco didn’t take this as an idle threat and ran off quickly, tripping over Crabbe and Goyle.
Ron was livid. He turned back to Ginny. “What’s he done to you, Ginny? Look at the state of you. Your hair’s a mess, you’re wearing his robe, and you’ve been off by yourselves! Nobody’s been able to find you all day, and the things you were saying!”
Ginny dropped to her knees at Harry’s head. He was so still. “Harry,” she said her voice shaky. “Harry!” She lifted his head and rested it on her lap; his jaw fell unhinged to the side. “Ron!” she screamed and lifted her hand that was dripping with Harry’s blood. “Help him, he’s dying!”
Hagrid pushed his way through the crowd and said, “Who’s dy’n? What’s go’n on? Move aside. Harry! Wha’s hap’nd?”
“He…” Ron was looking at his best mate in the entire world, terrified at what he’d done. “I only meant to let him know he couldn’t dishonor Ginny and ever hope to get away with it. I didn’t mean to hurt him, just teach’m a lesson.”
“Dishonor Ginny, teach ’em a lesson, wha’ ye go’n on ’bout, Ron? They been fly’n, down te Quidditch Pitch all day. Spent me whole day watch’n em, ‘aven a blast, they were. Ginny ‘ere was get’n cold an Harry give er is robe to warm er up. They talked fer qui’ a long time. Not of’n enough Harry gets te do ‘at, then you go off an knock em inta te ‘ere after. Look at em, he’s near froze.”
Crookshanks went to him and nibbled Harry’s ear and tried to touch his mind. “Harry, can you hear me son?” All he could get was his mom screaming and Voldemort’s evil laugh. “Hagrid, he’s not going to waken. Get him to the Hospital Wing!” Hagrid looked at Crookshanks, and realization hit him. “Hurry!”
“Righ,’ ‘ere we go, le’s ge’m up te Ospi’al Wing. Move away.” He scooped Harry up effortlessly and cradled him to his chest.
Ginny, Hermione, and Ron followed Hagrid as he carried Harry, leaving a trail of blood all the way.
Fred and George ran to them, alarmed at seeing Harry lifeless and being carried away. “What’s up?” they asked.
Ginny glared at Ron and said with malice and contempt, “This despicable vermin decided he was God and passed a guilty judgment on Harry for him not doing a thing wrong, and his punishment nearly killed him when he handed out his wrath!”
“What?” they both, at the same time, enquired. “Say again,” started George, “without all the nice things you said about Ron,” finished Fred.
“I can’t,” she said squinting her eyes at Ron with the look that is usually accompanied by a Bat-Bogey curse.
“You’uns stay ou’ ‘ere now. I’ll be back in a bit. Ginny, err, maybe you better come in ‘ere… an’ umm wash your han’s, n get tha’ blood off ya.”
She looked down at her hands and Harry’s robe where his head had been on her lap and fainted.
Ron caught her, but the twins tried to take her from him. “I got her, this is my fault, and I’m taking her in.”
Hermione, the twins, and Crookshanks looked on as Harry and Ginny were both being laid carefully on beds. Madame Pomfrey came to Harry’s side immediately, and Miss Lissydove tended Ginny gently.
Hagrid and Ron came out and sat down in a very solemn mood, with Hermione and the twins.
“Could somebody please tell us what’s going on now?”
“A question I’d like answers to myself.” Everyone jumped up and turned around to see Professor Dumbledore standing quietly in their midst. He wasn’t yelling and was actually quite calm, but, everyone, especially Ron, felt the fire burning in his eyes.
So, Ron and Hermione told how they had gotten back from Hogsmeade and couldn’t find Harry or Ginny anywhere. “We brought stuff back for them since neither one could go. Nobody had seen them since way before lunch.” Hermione started the explanation.
“Then, Neville said he remembered seeing Harry going to the Quidditch Pitch with his broom and a lemon. A little bit later, some weird girl from Ravenclaw said Ginny told her she was going for a walk down to the Quidditch Pitch, that maybe she wanted to see the Blimpen…thingies or something she had told Ginny about.
We asked her when that was and she said just a short while after breakfast.” Put in Hermione.
“So, Hermione and I started down that way, thinking it’s so late, maybe they stopped off to see Hagrid and lost track of time. But just as we got to the corner of the castle, they came around the corner talking. Harry was saying he didn’t know how he could have done that to her and something about him just jumping on without giving her time to change her mind. And then he said something about how he’d just had the best day of his life. Then he asked her to please forgive him, and that if anything happened and I found out, it was his fault, and then I would kill him. Her hair was a mess and she’s wearing Harry’s robe.” he said defensively.
“So, I fore armed him in the chest to stop them from going any further. I asked him what he did to Ginny. Harry had his hand up and had a look on his face, and now that I think of it, it wasn’t a guilty look, he was confused. He said my name and asked, ‘What?’ then he looked over to Hermione to find out. Then, without thinking, I hit him with my fist as hard as I could. I asked Ginny again what he did to her. He didn’t even see that I was going to hit him. He wasn’t expecting me to. But, I did.”
The twins were sitting there listening without saying a word, but took a glance at Ginny. They didn’t know she had come back out and was listening to Ron. “Sounds like you did the right thing to us, Ron. You’ve got some explaining to do, little sister,” they said as she walked past them, still very white in the face, and sat down beside Hermione.
“When I hit him, I think I knocked him out. I heard a horrible sound, and he just dropped to the ground. His head hit the sidewalk so hard it bounced and made a thud sound, like when you drop a melon on the floor and it breaks open.” Ron dropped his head in his left hand and cried. “I’ve killed my best mate, and my little sister hates me.”
Hermione was in tears and tried to console him. She looked at Ginny with a pleading look on her face.
“It’s not your fault Ron,” said George.
“You did the right thing,” said Fred.
“I just can’t believe Potter would do that,” said both the twins at the same time.
Ginny scowled at them but spoke to Ron. “I don’t hate you, Ron. I thought I did, but, I don’t, because I can see how you came up with what you thought happened. I’m glad you love me enough to stand up for my honor. But, Ron, you know that we don’t believe in sex before marriage, and that I wouldn’t do it. Look at how old I am, I don’t even think about that stuff! Right now, I’m just thrilled when he looks at me! And you should have complete faith in your best friend. You didn’t show any loyalty by jumping the gun like you did.”
“I’m sorry, Ginny.” He continued to cry, “Please forgive me.”
“Okay, I forgive you, but I’m still really mad at you, so give me some space for awhile.”
Professor Dumbledore stood quietly. “Was there anything strange or abnormal happening?”
“No,” Ron said, but Hermione said there was one strange thing.
“And what was that Miss Granger?”
“Well, there were a bunch of mosquitoes, and some of them got on Ron. I started killing them, and they left.”
“Mosquitoes aren’t strange, just annoying,” Ron added impatiently.
“It just seemed strange this time of year,” Hermione offered.
“Now, Miss Weasley, while we all commend you for your virtues, would you care to please explain you and Harry’s side of what happened?”
“Well, if you please, sir, I’d rather not… but… yeah, okay,” she said as she saw his face darken.
George broke in glaring at Ginny. “I don’t think we need to hear anymore, sir. Everyone knows Ginny’s been madly in love with Potter ever since she saw him for the first time. Potter saw he was alone with her,”
“and took advantage of her vulnerability,” Fred finished with a dark look on his face, looking at them working on Harry.
“Urrg,” she squealed as she rounded on her twin brothers and reached for her wand. A Bat-Bogey curse was about to fly.

I'm sorry, but this entire thing is just hilarious to me because I know what happens. Haha Quote:
Ron rounded on him with his fist rocking back for another haymaker and shouted, “Move on, or you’re next!” Draco didn’t take this as an idle threat and ran off quickly, tripping over Crabbe and Goyle.
If only Draco had stayed... Quote:
Ginny glared at Ron and said with malice and contempt, “This despicable vermin decided he was God and passed a guilty judgment on Harry for him not doing a thing wrong, and his punishment nearly killed him when he handed out his wrath!”
Haha, I love Ginny And her reactions Brilliant, Connie Quote:
“What?” they both, at the same time, enquired. “Say again,” started George, “without all the nice things you said about Ron,” finished Fred.
And I love the twins' response to it. It's so them. Quote:
Harry was saying he didn’t know how he could have done that to her and something about him just jumping on without giving her time to change her mind. And then he said something about how he’d just had the best day of his life. Then he asked her to please forgive him, and that if anything happened and I found out, it was his fault, and then I would kill him. Her hair was a mess and she’s wearing Harry’s robe.” he said defensively.
Bahaha, this is so funnnyyyy! I love it! Quote:

Whoopsie, Looks like I'm a bit late!!!
I just LOVED those two posts of yours!!! <3 I hate Ron for hitting Harry, he almost DIED????? Awww, poor Ginny!!!!!
I hope Fred and George knock the sense out of Ron for doing that!!!!
Well, replyin' to your reply...
Yeah, you're right. At this age, it is important to know what the other person is thinking. I'm twelve years old, and I know exactly what it feels like. There's this guy... and I really can't understand him! not even a bit! I can't deal with his mood swings, and I just long to know what he thinks about me because it's really confusing. But anyway, great posts, PAMS! And BTW, my school's started so you can send me the rest of the posts by e-mail at this address- tinamodern@yahoo.com . I won't be around much now, so cya!!!

Connie!
Another great chapter as usual. But first things first... a lemon!!?!?!?!? A lemon does not look like a snitch! How about a kiwi with two feather sticking out of it? Give it a think! I feel awful that the lemon was just a lemon. I really thought I was onto something!
Now, the mosquitoes!!!! The What-cha-ma-call-ems! Excellent idea! I was freaking out when Ron went psychotic on Harry; mind you, I didn't mind too much when he turned on Malfoy... Couldn't have happened to a nicer person! Personally, I think he should've got one really good shot in before Malfoy scurried a way! Grrr...
I also like how you were able to get Harry's true feelings about Ginny out in the open without causing Harry and embarrassment. Very clever! It's just too bad he won't remember.
The twins were priceless! Right down to finishing each others thoughts! And of course, they had to stand-up for Ginny's virtue, they wouldn't be Weasleys if they didn't. And of course they don't back down, even once the truth about the insects is revealled... Weasleys are stubborn people! (unlike someone else we know!)
Lastly, I enjoyed the whole broom flying scenario. *sigh* Oh to be sitting on the back of a fast-flying broom, with only the man that you love to hold on to... one can only wish and pray for such an occasion...
So Connie... only how many chapters until Sirius and Lissylove? SIX??? My patience is wearing thin... I don't think I will make it... All kidding aside... I loved the chapter and look forward to the next one!
Katie

Emily Black: Hey Emily: Quote:

I thought this was the perfect opportunity for Ron to make good his threat of getting back at Draco. Although he didn't afflict any pain on Draco, Draco obviously knew Ron would be able to carry out his warning if he didn't move on. I didn't have Ron just haul off and whip up on Draco, because Ron knew this wasn't the time to make it all about doing what he wanted to do, but, to resolve the situation with his sister, and Harry. Tina, the best thing for you to do is just be yourself around him. Be patient and think about the way he is, and why he has the mood swings. I'm sure he is way more confused than you are. Give him a chance to find himself and let him sort out his problems. He'll come around. Pushing him will only ensure a bumpy relationship. Not much fun that way. So, like I said, just be your sweet self, and let him have his time and space. Thanks for reading, and loving my story.

Thank you sweetie! OK The lemon! I didn't use a kiwi with feathers because he just grabbed something quick that he knew he would be able to spot from high in the air. Kiwi's are greenish, brownish. It would blend in with the ground. But, ok....ummmm how about this? I used a lemon because thinking on the property values of a lemon, they are sour by thereself, but, added to say kool-aid, punch, fruit juice... they sharpen, and brings out the best taste and makes the combination a very satisfying beverage. If you add a few drops to fresh cut apples, it keeps them fresh longer, and keeps them from turning brown. A couple drops added to a bowl of fruit keeps them fresh tasting for a longer period of time. So, by being able to give Ginny a lemon to keep as a keepsake of the best day of his life, he actually gave her something that will brighten and bring out the best of the two of them for the future. Yeah, Katie you did stumble on the significance afterall. Feel better? Quote:

You're more than welcome. I try to watch out for my friends. Quote:
I loved this bit. You could tell that Ginny cares just as much for Harry as he care for her.
Yes, I could have had her get all dramatic and scream for help and exclude Ron from helping him, but, I don't think Ginny is that way. She doesn't loose her common sense. Deep down, she knows Ron to be her loving brother. It would be natural for her to in her moment of terror to reach out to him for help. Quote:
Oh I love Hagrid. Good Ol Hagrid to the rescue.
Hagrid is lovable isn't he. Quote:
Oh, they two better watch saying things like that. They could get Harry and Ginny into a lot of trouble
This is exactly how bad reputations get started. People hear things, and before they know the real story, they start telling their opinion of it, and there you go. At least one reputation tarnished and on the way to being ruined. Quote:
I agree with Ginny here. I do believe that a bat-bogey curse was acceptable.
I quite agree. And she shouldn't get in trouble for it either. We have only heard in the books rules saying there is to be no magic in the hallways of the castle. They are not in the hallways, they are in the ummm waiting room. Quote:

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
On Pins and Needles
“Excuse me,” Dumbledore put his hand on Ginny’s trembling shoulder. “Perhaps you should be a bit more considerate of your sister. She has been through a very traumatic experience.”
He turned back to Ginny and nodded his head for her to continue.
“I had seen Harry walking outside with his broom and a lemon. I told Luna Lovegood I was going to the Quidditch Pitch for some fresh air. She warned me of Blimppen Blobbers and told me to be careful.”
“Yes, of course,” interjected Dumbledore. “Did you detect any?” Everyone’s mouths dropped opened as they stared at the Professor.
Just then, Professor McGonagall came in and rushed over. Ron held up his hands to be hand cuffed and taken to Azkaban. He figured sense she is the Head of House that it was her responsibility to see that it was done. She just looked at him and rushed by saying, “Yes, have Madame Pomfrey fix that when she can.” without even slowing down. She went right up beside Harry’s bed and took his hand in hers.
Everyone was now watching her, wondering why Harry means so much to her. They turned back to Professor Dumbledore as he cleared his throat. “You were about to say whether or not you detected any Blimppen Blobbers,” Dumbledore reminded Ginny patiently.
“Umm, I don’t know what, err, I didn’t see anything unnatural sir,” she said slowly.
“Ah, well, you wouldn’t either more than likely. They’re very hard to spot. They enjoy playing havoc with our emotions. They make their victims act out their deepest emotions. Harmless really, unless something of this nature happens. Usually the most that happens is the victim gets very embarrassed before they move on to exploit someone else. It was worse for Harry, because they entered his blood stream when his head was busted open. When this happens, the victim usually bleeds to death.
“Oh,” Ginny said almost inaudibly. Then it was Blimppen Blobbers Harry had in him making him act that way?” she said, very disappointed.
“They weren’t in him at the time of your day of flying, only bitten. But yes, he had been infected by their bites before he entered the Quidditch Pith. Unless you think he was acting normally.”
She put her hand on her cheek, and shook her head no. “He kissed me, and he said this was the best day of his life, and that he’s never been so happy before. He told me things he said he’s never told anyone before. He was just so open and honest and unguarded about everything. He told me he needs me, and he loves me. He has nightmares, about his parents getting murdered, every time he closes his eyes.”
“Yes, poor Harry would be an easy target for them.”
Ginny wiped her eye with the back of her hand and looked at Dumbledore. “Sir, will he remember any of this?”
“I’m sorry, Miss Weasley, he won’t. If he had only been bitten, then yes, he would have remembered. But when they enter the blood stream, no, the victim never remembers.”
“At least that’s something good then,” said Ron sounding quite relieved.
“For you, yeah, not for me though. It’ll be back to him not knowing I exist,” Ginny said softly as she thought out loud.
“Well, anyway,” she continued in a very deflated way. “I followed Harry down to the pitch and was watching him fly without him knowing it. At least I thought he didn’t know I was there. He all of a sudden flew down to me and got off his broom. He talked for a bit. He told me such sad things about his childhood. Terrible wrong things happened to him, and there was never anyone to help him.” She stopped and couldn’t help but glare at Dumbledore, till she realized what she was doing. “He didn’t know what it felt like to be loved till he made friends with Ron, Hermione, and my family. He just kept telling me things that broke my heart so many times. Then he said the minute he turns seventeen he’s clearing out. That he’s going to figure out how to kill Voldemort, and anyone else who had a hand in his parents’ death. It startled me that he could be so blunt and casual about it. He thought he scared me and took my arm. I kind of stepped back away from him. He said he keeps making mistakes with me. Then suddenly he offered me a ride on his broom. I accepted his invitation and got on. All at once he told me to scrunch back a smidgen and he climbed on in front of me. He put my hands on his waist and told me to hang on. Well, I had to wrap my arms around him, and that’s where I was all the rest of the day. It was such a thrill being, er, riding with him. I just moved with his movements and we did spectacular things I’d never dreamed could be done. We laughed all day long, it was so much fun. My hair was a mess, even after he did what he could to straighten it. He thought I was cold and gave me his robe to get me warm. When we were near the corner of the castle, he was still talking how fun the day was for him, and he hoped I didn’t get sick from being cold. He laughed and said if I did and Ron found out it was his fault, that Ron would kill him. That’s when Ron went berserk, and—”
“probably killed him,” Ron finished her sentence. “Ginny, please, I don’t know why I lost my head and jumped to conclusions.”
“We did too, Ron, don’t beat yourself up about it,” said Fred.
“Sir,” Ron held his arms out to Dumbledore and said, “I know you have to expel me and send me to Azkaban. You can go ahead and cuff me, so I don’t lose my head again and hurt someone else. I’m a nutcase—it’s plain and simple. Just can I stay here till we find out if… if I’ve killed him?”
Hermione caught her breath and choked on her words, “Ron, no.” She put her hand on his arm to keep him from leaving her. Tears were streaming down her face. She felt like she just lost her two best friends all at once.
Dumbledore stepped over to Ron, who was gingerly holding his swollen and broken hand up for him to cuff. He took Ron’s hand and moved his wand over it, and the hand repaired itself.
“Thanks, thank you, sir. But I wasn’t worried about my hand. I’m worried about hurting anybody else I love.”
“Ron, obviously, you’ve been bitten with the same imps that infected Harry. This was not your doing, except for the fact that you need to learn to keep your temper in check. When Harry said you would kill him, that’s what the imps wanted to make you do. Yet, it wasn’t in your heart to kill him. You only struck him with the intention of teaching him a lesson. You are not going to be expelled or sent to Azkaban.”
“Now, I must go in and see to my young friend.” He smiled at them all gravely then went in the hospital wing where Harry was being tended.
He walked over to Harry’s bedside where Minerva was still holding Harry’s hand. He looked at Madame Pomfrey and asked if he would be in the way if he stood beside the bed.
“No, sir, you’re fine,” she said, and then she went on about her work on Harry.
Minerva sniffed and wiped a tear from her eye. She looked at Dumbledore and said sadly, “They can’t stop the bleeding, Albus. He’s bleeding from his brain, and they can’t stop it. His brain is swelling inside his skull, so they’re not going to fix that damage till they can stop the bleeding so too much pressure doesn’t build up. They said it’s already in the danger zone as it is.”
“I don’t understand,” said Madam Pomfrey, “I’ve mended his broken jaw, that wasn’t hard at all. His ribs are bruised, but will heal on their own. It’s the strangest thing; it’s as if he had a tourniquet on all day, from his sides on around to his front.”
Lissydove spoke then to tell them, “Ginny told me of a most wonderful day of flying she and Harry had. They were together on his broom. From the sound of what all they did, I think she had to hang on for dear life.”
“Okay, well then, that explains the bruises, but why can’t I stop this bleeding?”
“It’ll be the Imps, Poppy, Blimppen Blobbers to be exact.”
“But their only folklore,” Minerva and Poppy said at the same time.
“No, they’re quite real I assure you. I wish Miss Lovegood had come to me and told me she detected them here. All this could have been avoided. The Imps are in his head. They need to keep the damaged area open so they can survive. They work much the same way mosquitoes do. They are about the same size, and they bite any exposed area. They inject their venom, which causes an immediate reaction and causes the victim to start acting out the emotion that is most dominant at the time. If they can enter into the bloodstream, they can contaminate the body until it bleeds to death. Harry was probably bitten as he entered the Quidditch Pitch. Then when he met up with Ron and was hit, his skin was broken open at the back of his head where he hit the ground. They attacked Ron when they met at the corner of the castle. They could tell Ron was high on emotion as he was worried about Ginny being missing. They are having a feast with Harry.”
“But, he’s not having any emotion right now, how can they still be in him?”
“Miss Weasley said that whenever he closes his eyes he has nightmares. Those are what they are feasting on right now.” He drew his wand and put it to the temple of Harry’s head. “Poppy, a silver bowl, if you would be so kind.” Lissydove summoned one immediately for him. “Thank you dear,” he said.
Professor Dumbledore put the wisp of silvery smoke in the silver bowel. He tapped the side of the bowel, and Harry’s nightmare was brought into view. It was very mottled and hard to make out anything. “There, you see, it’s as I thought. They are contaminating his blood. If this memory becomes completely unable to be seen, then our Harry will die.” He let the memory fall back into the bowel. He pointed his wand at the doors and opened them.
“Please come in quickly” is all he said. Hagrid, Ron, Ginny, Hermione, and the twins ran in with a worried expression on their faces.
Dumbledore made a great circle like he was using a whip over his head and said, “Purge this image and room of all demon manifestation!” Then he snapped it suddenly and then again around the circumference of the room, and then straight at the silver bowl. A brilliant golden light emblazoned the room and everyone in it. A steady stream went into the silvery wisp of memories.
The bowl of Harry’s memories began to sizzle and pop, then all over the room the same could be heard and seen.
The golden glow finally ebbed till the room was normal once again. Once again, Dumbledore tapped the side of the silver bowel, and Harry’s memories came into perfect view.
“This is what the imps were feasting on,” he stated painfully. They all watched in horror as they watched what Harry lived through as a baby the night his parents were murdered. Harry was watching his daddy pushing his mommy, as she held him close to her in her arms, up the steps. Sheer terror was on his face and in his voice. He told her to get help, that it wasn’t Remus, it was Peter!
“Go! I’ll hold him off as long as I can!” Harry looked up at his mommy. She was crying and kissing him. “Daddy and Mommy love you, Harry.” They’re in his room, and he watched his mommy move her wand in an arc over him. A golden light shimmered over Harry as she quickly but steadily said:
From this evil about to spew;
Your Daddy’s blood will spill for you;
Our lives we so lovingly give;
So you can continue to live;
Mommy gives to you what is shared by another;
None other than the sister of your mother;
No death shall come to you, my son;
From the wand of this evil one;
Be protected from him in her home;
As long as you can call it your own;
In your heart beats as pure as a dove;
The greatest power of all is love.
Then she flipped her wand, and a bright white light shone and Lily’s Doe Patronus appeared. She sent it with the message to Sirius for help; that Voldemort was here and it wasn’t Remus, but Peter.
Harry looked to the door, where he saw red and green flashes of light, and heard his daddy screaming because somebody was hurting him very, very badly. More flashes of light and screaming, and a man was laughing very scarily. Harry started to cry. His mommy started to cry.
“James,” she said over and over. Then there was silence except for the sound of someone coming upstairs. Harry stopped crying. His mommy put him in his crib and dropped her wand beside him. He looked around her to see if it was his daddy coming. Harry and his mommy were both watching the door. It opened and a very ugly, scary looking man came in the room laughing. The man told his mommy to give him the boy; that she didn’t need to die. Something huge jumped at the scary man.
“Tom?” The ugly, scary man used his wand, as someone warned, “Master!” just inches before it got to him. “Sectumsempra!” and, (yes, it was Tom) fell to the floor with his side cut open.
Harry looked at his beloved friend, Tom. Then, the ugly, scary man kicked Tom away from him. Once again the man told her to give him the boy. She begged him for Harry’s life. He pointed his wand at her and said, “Avada Kedavra,” and Harry watched his mommy fall to the floor, not moving.
Harry picked up his mommy’s wand from where she put it in his crib. He cried out for his daddy, his mommy, and Tom. But he didn’t take his eyes off of the scary man that was just in front of him now. Harry pointed at Voldemort and said, “Bad man! No! No! You vey, vey bad man!”
Voldemort laughed heartlessly. “It’s a shame I have to kill you. You would make a great disciple for me.” He pointed his wand at Harry, and the same time he said, “Avada Kedavra,” Harry pointed his mommy’s wand, and said, “Bad Man Go!” A golden light came between Harry and Voldemort. Harry’s wand emitted a green flash of light the same instant Voldemort’s wand emitted a green flash of light. The streams of light collided and Harry’s went under Voldemort’s and hit him in the heart. Voldemort’s beam glanced over top of Harry’s and hit him on the forehead. Harry screamed as his head snapped backwards. Everything was blowing up around him as the forces of the wands blasted within the room. Voldemort also cried out in pain as Harry’s beam blasted him backwards and he crumpled to the floor. Then a big black wisp of smoke rose from where Voldemort was and vanished out the door.
Lissydove’s frantic voice broke the silence in the room, as all were watching Harry’s memory in utter repulsion.
“Madam Pomfrey! Harry is dying!”
