But now, he is in danger of his father, plus... what if his blood smells tasty to the Cullens? Will they be ok with her bringing Draco there? Great post Emily. SO, new post, anyone? “Are you okay?” she asked, breathing heavily. “Mmmm,” was all Draco could say. Emily crawled over to him. “Draco? What is it?” Emily searched him. His eyes were closed and he was turning pale. “Draco? Talk to me, Drake!” Emily said, panicked. Draco still wasn’t speaking. Emily fished her hand over his limp body until it reached his hand. He was holding his side pretty tightly, but Emily was able to get his hand away. Her eyes widened. “Carlisle! Emmett! Anybody! Help!” she screamed. “What’s going on, Emily?” Carlisle asked in a calm voice. “Attacked. Had to escape. Kissed. Saved me. Attacked,” Emily stuttered, completely incomprehensible. Edward appeared at Carlisle’s side, but Emily didn’t notice. Her eyes were on Draco and only Draco. She faintly heard Renesmee in Edward’s hands. She heard humming, but she knew that it was just Edward talking quietly to Carlisle, probably filling him in. Emily grabbed Draco’s hand, squeezing it. “Emmett, can you get Emily?” he asked barely above a whisper. The next thing Emily knew was that her hand was being ripped out of Draco’s as Emmett ran her to Carlisle’s office. The hospital bed was already up, but Emmett didn’t sit her on it. Carlisle was right behind them with Draco. He gently placed Draco on the bed and started hooking him up to an IV. Alice appeared in the doorway, looking anxious. Alice walked over to Emily and, without a word, ripped the sleeve off of Emily’s arm and started dabbing at her wounds. Emily couldn’t even look at her. The last time Emily talked to her was in a yelling match. Emily yelled at Alice and then went to the beach, where she ran into Draco. Emily continued looking at Draco. He moaned when Carlisle stripped off his shirt and started cleaning his wound. “Draco!” Emily said. She jumped up from her chair, causing Alice to click her tongue in annoyance. Emily ran to his side and reached for his hand. “Emily, we need to clean your wound. Draco will be fine,” said Carlisle soothingly. “You don’t understand, Carlisle; these aren’t stab wounds like last time. Nothing can heal him except more magic. I need my book.” Emily glanced behind her but Alice was already gone. She appeared not even a second later, extending Emily’s book to Emily. “Thanks, Al.” Emily took the book with her right hand, her left still clutching Draco’s hand. She flipped through the pages one handed. Draco moaned again. “This is no use! I can’t help you unless I know what you’ve been hit with,” Emily said, exasperated. “It was orange,” he whispered. She strained to hear him. “And it burns like fire.” Emily immediately went to the index and found which page the orange-colored curses started on. She flipped to page 72 and began to skim the bullets of each spell for something about burning side effects. She stopped on one spell. It said Dark Arts under the title of the curse and Emily knew that it was the right one. She quickly read how to get the curse to leave his body and then studied the wand movement from the pictures. She mumbled to herself about a jive and a jerk. Draco squeezed her fingers and she looked down at him. He nodded and she returned it. With a quick jive, jab, and jerk of her wand, Emily repeated the spell in her mind and focused on Draco’s side. An orange mist started to extract from his side and she knew it had worked. She had tears in her eyes when she looked back up at him. He intertwined their fingers as Carlisle stepped forward and resumed cleaning the blood off of his skin. “Accio dittany,” Emily said. Her wand fell onto the bed beside Draco’s legs as a small bottle zoomed into the room. Emily caught it and fumbled with the lid since she only had one hand. She was finally able to uncork it and let a drop fall onto Draco’s gash. It sizzled a little as his skin grew back quickly. He clenched his teeth together, his jaw dominant in his features. Emily ran her fingertips over the pink skin. “Thanks, Ems,” Draco whispered. He started to sit up. “Draco, you need to rest,” she said, trying to push him back down. “No, I need to apologize,” he persisted. He ignored her lousy pushing and threw his legs over the side of the bed. He stared up at her. “I’m so sorry, for tricking you, trapping you, betraying you. I don’t deserve any part of you. That’s why George won in the end. He deserves somebody like you, I don’t.” “Draco, you saved me. I wouldn’t have been able to do any of that without you,” Emily whispered. “Maybe, but you also wouldn’t have had to go through any of it if it weren’t for me. I’m the reason they found you. I tricked you and kissed you—” “You kissed her?” asked Alice and Edward at the same time, interrupting Draco. “What about George?” asked Alice. “I thought this guy was a douche or something,” commented Emmett. “I summoned them with the mark,” continued Draco, ignoring the Cullens. “I’m so sorry. He said if I didn’t do it, he’d kill me.” Draco started crying. “Don’t worry, I can protect you,” Emily said, wiping away his tears with her fingertips. “I don’t deserve your protection,” Draco declared. “You saved me, Draco, I owe you one,” Emily smiled at him. “I almost got you killed. I was the one who was supposed to kill you,” Draco said. He let go of her hand and buried his face in his hands. Emily tried prying them away but they wouldn’t budge. “Why can’t I kill him?” Emmett asked seriously. “Emmett!” Emily scolded. “He just admitted to trying to kill you. He can’t be trusted!” Emmett declared. He moved closer to Draco but Emily stood in front of him. “I’m with Emmett,” said Alice. “Even though I’m furious with you, I don’t want to see you hurt. Anyone who tries should be terminated.” “Alice, Emmett, I think you should get some air,” said Carlisle quietly. They grudgingly left the room with one last glare at Draco. “You’ll have to excuse my family. We are very protective over Emily,” Carlisle chuckled lightly, moving to Emily’s side. He started examining her shoulder, where she had been hit. She now felt the blood sticking to her and staining her shirt. She flinched when he applied pressure to it. He grabbed her bottle of dittany and let a drop out of the bottle to heal her. She flinched slightly, but smiled all the same. “Thanks, Carlisle,” Emily said. She hugged him loosely and then looked at Draco. “Draco, I need to speak to Edward for a moment, will you be all right?” she asked Draco. He nodded. Looking at Carlisle, she whispered, “Can you look after him?” Carlisle nodded, so Edward and she left the room. Edward led the way to the living room, which, to no one’s surprise, the rest of the Cullen family was waiting. “Emily,” sighed Esme as she glided across the room to give Emily a hug. “Hi, Esme,” said Emily. They embraced in a hug, and then Bella, with Renesmee in her arms, gave Emily a hug too. Emmett came next and picked Emily up, engulfing her into a bear hug. “I’m glad you didn’t die,” said Emmett. “Me too, Em,” laughed Emily. Rosalie and Jasper both gave her small hugs, and then it was just Alice. Alice looked at Emily and Emily looked at Alice. Neither said anything, and everyone in the room just stared between the two. “Come on, Alice. You know I have to,” Emily said in a pleading voice. “Why?” “There’s a war going on out there!” “Exactly! That’s why you should stay, where it's safe!” Alice yelled at her. “I can’t just sit back and watch everyone that I love die around me, Alice! My family is out there! My friends!” “It’s too dangerous!” “Oh please! If your family was out there fighting, would you sit back and do nothing? Would you let them risk their lives while you just sat here?” Alice looked down, knowing full well that Emily had a point. “Exactly,” said Emily a little more quietly. “You are one of my best friends. You are a part of this family now. We can’t lose you, Ems.” “Alice, I have to do what is right.” Alice crossed the room and hugged Emily until she couldn’t breathe. “Let me help with the fight,” Alice begged. “We’ve already had this conversation. You can’t. Wands can kill you. You’re not invincible. Besides, this is a wizard’s fight, not a vampire’s.” “But, Emily—” “No buts. End of conversation.” Alice didn’t fight it anymore and Emily assumed it was because she couldn’t see herself fighting with Emily in the future. Emily turned to Edward. “Well?” she asked him. “Emily, I don’t think you know what—” Edward started. “I have to know, Edward.” Edward nodded. “He truly is sorry for the danger he inflicted upon you. He kept thinking about wishing he could return to third year, whatever that means. He really does love you, and he regrets what he did,” Edward said quietly. Emily let a few tears escape before she found her voice. “Is he going to betray me again?” She looked at Edward first and then at Alice. “Well?” “No, but he will return to his home,” Alice stated “What? No, he can’t. They’ll kill him. He will kill Draco,” Emily panicked. “It’s the only way he can do good, Emily. Spying on the rest of them. He’ll go back, saying you were on to him the moment you guys took flight to the forest. He’ll tell them you put him under a spell. Don’t worry; he won’t be punished too much. They’ll believe his story as long as you make him forget everything that’s happened here,” Alice said. Her eyes were unfocused. She was speaking of the future. Emily let out a sob at the thought of letting Draco return to the bad side. She was terrified for him. “I, er, need a favor. Can someone get in contact with George? Let him know he’s needed here. I need his help. I need him,” Emily said. Alice nodded. Emily walked slowly back up the stairs to Draco. She needed to explain a few things to him. “Carlisle, can I speak to Draco alone for a minute? But let me know when he gets here please,” she added. He nodded, knowing exactly what she was talking about. “Is everything all right, Ems?” Draco asked as Carlisle left the room. Draco stood up and grabbed Emily into a hug. She hugged him back, and they stayed like that for a while. “I’m going to ask something of you, Draco.” Emily pulled back to look at him. She got out of his grip and leaned back against the wall. He sat back on the bed and looked up at her. “Anything,” Draco promised. “I need you to go back, behind enemy lines.” “What? Why?” “To spy, to help. It’s the only way, Draco. Harry, Hermione, and Ron are going to get caught sooner or later, whether it’s by saying his name or slipping. They’ll ask you to identify them. You have to lie. You have to help at all costs.” “Emily, they’ll kill me.” “No, they won’t.” “How do you know?” “Alice...Alice can see the future. She told me you’d be punished but not killed,” Emily looked deep into his gray eyes. She remembered a time when they were so dark she couldn’t even recognize them. “What about you?” “I haven’t figured it out yet. I’ll either carry on with what I was doing or I’ll go stay with Tonks or George.” Draco nodded, though she could tell he still wasn’t happy. Emily led him down the staircase to the living room. She looked up and immediately started running. This is one of my least favorite posts... The next one is one of my favorites though... What do you think? |

This is once again another great post Emily :) I'm glad she's finally contacting George to hopefully tell him EVERYTHING and that Lupin follows *hint hint* Oh and Lauren is standing over my shoulder reading this and is currently doing a sad, sad little dance and repeating "Georgie is back! Georgie is back!" lol I noticed that in your post Draco and Severus have many similarities: 1. They both love(d) someone that they couldn't have 2. They woman they loved were both in Gryffindor, as were their husbands 3. They both went against The Dark Lord to protect the woman they love(d) I don't know if you meant it to be like that or not, but I like it :) GREAT post Emily and Lauren and I both agree that you should PAMS :) !Jesse! And *lauren* |

Hello Emily. I don't understamd why this would be your least favorite chapter. It's very well written, and I don't see any reason at all for any chapter to be less favorable than any others. You've done a tremendous piece of work writing this ff so far, and I'm sure the rest is going to be just as great. Quote:
