*Looks at you innocently* What do you mean--evil?? :evillaugh I guess you'll have to wait a while to find out... And when I mean a while, I mean a long while. That part is near the end. |

The next few weeks were filled with studying and homework. George and Fred were busy at their shop and Emily was busy with her studies, so Emily usually only saw George at night, when he came home. Remus didn’t come back to surprise her anymore. He stayed with the other werewolves as a spy. The Apparition lessons came with February, but Emily had already passed her test, being a year older than her classmates. When March arrived, George started becoming more peculiar. Emily knew it had to do with her birthday on the fourth, but George wouldn’t say. On the first, Emily went to the shop with some bad news. To her surprise, the workers told her that the twins had gone to Hogsmeade. Emily quickly Apparated to the village and headed for Zonko’s. She knew they were going to try to buy it. She noticed their red hair and started flaying her arms in the air to get their attention. “George! Fred!” Emily said as she ran up to them. “Emily? Is everything okay?” Fred asked as George spun around. “It’s Ron! Ginny just mirrored me! He was poisoned!” she said through deep breaths. Fred and George just stared at her for a second longer. “Oy! Didn’t you hear her? My brother’s been poisoned! Get out of our way!” Fred yelled to the cluster of people that blocked their way to the gate. They all hurried to get out of their way. George held Emily’s hand as the trio ran to the gates of Hogsmeade. Tonks let them in and they hurried up the path to the Infirmary. Emily and the twins arrived during the evening. Harry, Ginny, and Hermione were all sitting around his bed. Ron’s bed was the only one in use. “So, all in all, not one of Ron’s better birthdays?” Fred said. “This isn’t how we imagined handing over our present,” George added as he put a large wrapped gift on Ron’s bedside cabinet. He sat in the chair beside Ginny as Emily perched on top of his lap. “Yeah, when we pictured the scene, he was conscious.” Fred stared at his brother. “There we were in Hogsmeade, waiting to surprise him,” George continued. “You were in Hogsmeade?” Ginny asked as she looked over at him. “We were thinking of buying Zonko’s. A Hogsmeade branch, you know, but a fat lot of good it’ll do us if you aren’t allowed out at weekends to buy stuff anymore… But never mind that now,” Fred said gloomily. Fred dragged over a chair and sat down. “How exactly did it happen, Harry?” Harry explained the story for the trio. Emily looked at him in horror. There was only one person she thought that would have poisoned that wine. But she didn’t voice her opinions. “Blimey, it was lucky you thought of a bezoar,” George said quietly. Emily grabbed his hand that was wound around her waist. She didn’t want to think about what ifs. “Lucky there was one in the room,” Harry said. Emily didn’t want to think about any of this. She didn’t want to think about who was supposed to get the wine or what would have happened if Harry couldn’t find a bezoar. And she definitely didn’t want to think about who had done it. She squeezed George’s hand once and then pried it away from her waist. She stood up slowly and muttered something about the library. George was too worried about Ron to question her, so he let her go. Emily made her way down to the Quidditch Pitch. She needed some air and that was a place that could help her with her needs. She went to the changing rooms first and found a spare broom. As she walked outside, a slight breeze passed by. Her hair twisted round her face as she stepped into the freshly cut grass. She swung her leg over the broom and lifted into the air. She took a deep breath as she flew higher and higher. She lay back on the bristles of the broom and rested her hands on her abdomen. She clutched tightly to her stomach, her hands over her belly button. Emily let a few tears release as the half moon shone brightly over head. “Wanna talk about it?” whispered somebody to Emily’s left. Emily lifted her head slowly to see Tonks on her own broom. Emily sat up on her borrowed broom, her hands still clutching her stomach. Tonks eyes followed down to Emily’s hands as Emily looked down too. Tonks’ eyes widened slightly. “Oh,” she said simply. Emily met her eyes. “I don’t know for certain,” Emily whispered. “Do you want to go find out?” Tonks asked softly. Emily nodded as they made their way to the ground. “Does George know?” “No, I haven’t told anyone. I don’t want to tell him and he be—” Emily began. “It’s okay, I understand.” Emily and Tonks made their way to the gate. Tonks opened it and then resealed it. Tonks took hold of Emily’s hands and Apparated her to St. Mungo’s. Tonks took her up to a blonde witch, who was behind a desk. The blonde glanced up at the pair. “We need to go to the maternity wing,” Tonks said calmly. “Fifth floor,” the woman said without looking up. Tonks took Emily’s hand and led her to the elevator. They had it to themselves and Tonks pushed the small five. “Breathe, Emily, everything is fine,” Tonks said quietly. Emily nodded, breathing slowly. After they got off the elevator, they made their way to the counter. The lady there told them a room number, where they went and waited. About an hour later, a young woman with light brown hair and a heart shaped face walked back into the room with a clipboard. “Well, Emily, your results came back,” the nurse said slowly. Emily clutched Tonks’ hand tighter and Tonks patted Emily on the back with her other hand. “The results were a negative. You’re not pregnant,” the witch said slowly. Emily’s grip on Tonks loosened and she let out a huge breath. “I know this may be hard for you. False alarms are quite common,” she said quietly. Emily nodded. “Yeah, I know. Er, thank you for everything,” Emily said quietly. “I’ll just leave this with you. I need you to sign the bottom and then you can leave it on the bed. You’re welcome to leave whenever you’re ready.” The witch left the clipboard on the bed and left the room. Emily grabbed the papers slowly and signed on the dotted line. “Are you okay?” Tonks asked quietly. “Mmmhmm,” Emily murmured. “Let’s just get out of here,” she said quietly. Tonks nodded as Emily hopped off the bed, leaving the clipboard. “I need to get back to the school. Will you be okay?” Tonks asked as they walked outside. Emily nodded and gave her hug. “Thanks for coming with me,” she whispered. “Anytime you need me, I’m here,” Tonks said before she Disapparated. Emily went back to Shell Cottage and made her way to the backyard of Remus’ house. She climbed the tree that she had climbed so many times before and sat there with her arms around her stomach. She spent a few hours in the tree, staring at the moon. Emily glanced at her watch and noticed the late hour. She jumped down from the tree and Apparated to her own house. “Hey, Ginny, are you sure you haven’t seen—Wait! Someone just walked in, it might be her,” George said. She heard him move towards the front door as it clicked closed behind her. She hung her coat in their side closet as he bounded around the corner. “Emily! Where have you been? I’ve been worried sick about you!” he exclaimed as he pulled her into a hug, the mirror still clutched in his hand. “Sorry, I…went out,” she said hesitantly as she hugged him back. Her arms wrapped around his waist. Still holding onto her, he lifted the mirror and spoke to Ginny. “She came back, Gin. I guess she was safe,” he said. Ginny nodded from the mirror as they both hung up. George led Emily over to the couch in the living room, pulling her down beside him. “I’m sorry I worried you,” she whispered into the crook of his neck. “It’s okay. Where did you go?” he asked quietly as he kissed her hair. Emily hesitated before answering. “I had a drink with Tonks,” Emily lied. “I’m glad you two made up,” he said simply. Emily nodded her agreement. |

But I have been coming back to check my inbox to see if there's been a new post. Then I got worried because I haven't gotten any mail from you. Lucky I checked the fic. =] I loved this post! It was kind of bittersweet, what with Ron getting poisoned and her not being pregnant and all. But I still love all the love that goes on between Emily and George! SO CUTE!!! =] I can't wait for more posts! I'm dying to know what happens next... so PAMS PAMS PAMS!!!! |

Emily’s birthday was spent with George when she got home from school. They lounged around, talking. He even made them dinner, in which they ate alone. George set up candles all around their bedroom, trying to make it as romantic as possible. He bought her a silver charm bracelet with a miniature tree and their initials on the trunk. It was a miniature version of their tree. They were both happy, extremely happy, but there was still a voice in the back of Emily’s head about her recent trip to the hospital. Ever since the trip, she wouldn’t get that close to George. She made up excuses, and he eventually bought them. When April arrived, Emily received a note from Professor Dumbledore, asking her to meet him after her classes that day. Confused, she waited through her classes with suspicions. After Transfiguration, she made her way up to his office and knocked lightly on the door. “Enter,” he said. Emily opened the door, peeking in before she walked fully in. He motioned for her to sit in the chair in front of his desk. She walked slowly to her chair and sat down as he observed her. They sat in silence, looking each other up and down before he broke the silence. “I’m going to ask something of you, Mrs. Weasley,” Dumbledore said quietly. Emily nodded, but didn’t say anything. “I’m not going to give you all the details, which is unfair to you, but it still stands. What I or…someone else tells you must be kept secret. You are to not tell a soul, which includes your husband.” He paused. “Does it have to do with the war that is brewing out there?” Emily asked quietly. Before answering, he studied her further. Nodding, he said, “Yes, it deals with the war.” “What exactly can I do that one of the more experienced members of the Order cannot, sir?” she asked as she narrowed her eyes. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Weasley, but I cannot give you any details until I know that you will take on this mission no matter what I tell you,” he said slowly. “Why me though?” she asked. “Because you’re intelligent, quick, trustworthy, and the perfect one for the job. If you ever needed, you could change into your Animagi form and blend in. You’re brilliant with a wand and I know you can keep a secret, because you did it your whole life with Remus.” Emily studied him for a second to see if he was being serious. “What am I to tell people?” “Tell them that you’re on your own mission and that I told you to tell nobody, even your husband and Godfather. You mustn’t tell anyone,” he said firmly. Emily nodded. “I’ll let you think about it for a while. I need to know by the end of next week.” Dumbledore sat back in his chair, and Emily took it as a dismissal. She stood up slowly and made her way to the door. It was next Thursday, and Emily found herself lounging by the lake with Hermione as they studied for a Transfiguration test. “Oh no, he’s coming over here,” Emily whispered as she glanced to her left. Cody was walking towards them. “I haven’t spoken to him in a while. I better meet him in the middle,” Emily whispered to Hermione. “Wait, what if you need a wingman?” Hermione asked quickly. “Er, if I need you, I’ll do this,” she said. Emily flicked her hair over her shoulder and scratched the side of her nose. “And if I don’t need you—I’ll do this,” Emily continued as she twirled a few strands of hair around in her fingers. Hermione nodded as Emily met Cody a little to the side. She turned them around so his back was towards Hermione and she could see Emily. “Long time no see,” she smiled at him. “Yeah, it’s almost as if you disappeared,” he laughed. She chuckled lightly at him. “I, er, never got the chance to say congratulations,” he said as he nodded toward her ring. She blushed slightly. “Yeah, sorry I didn’t invite you to the wedding. It was mainly family,” she said quietly. “It’s cool,” he shrugged. Emily nodded slightly. “So, er, how have you been?” she asked. “Not bad, though our hangout is pretty lonely without you,” he chuckled. “Ha, I haven’t been there in forever,” she said awkwardly. Emily flicked her hair over her shoulder and scratched her nose as subtly as possible. Hermione grinned and shut her book, coming to her rescue. “Ems, we’re going to be late,” she said in a chipper voice. “Oh, right, I almost forgot. I’ll see you around, Cody,” Emily said with a wave as she started backing up with Hermione. They turned round and made their way to class. “Thanks for the save, it was turning a bit awkward,” Emily whispered. “Anytime,” Hermione chuckled. :val5: |
Ha ha! I would never forget this fanfic! It's my absolute favorite! And I've been reading every chapter as you post them, I just never have the time to reply to them. =] So the PMs are greatly appreciated. Thank you! And this post was great! I actually completely forgot about Cody, ha ha! I've been so entranced with Emily and George, that I forgot about her other endeavors. LOL! But this post was great, I wonder what Dumbledore is making her do... and why she has to keep it from George... it's not like he would tell. And I think she definitely needs to tell George about the pregnancy thing... he's going to get suspicious eventually. And I just know that your evil little mind is planning a huge fight in which George yells at her for not telling him something. Ugh! Anyway... I can't wait for more, so PAMS PAMS PAMS!!! |
