And yes, I do have this other fic, I've got tons too in the finished section if anyone's interested. Might give you all an idea as to what to expect from my fics :mwaha: then again it might scare y'all's pants off ... but at least you know I can finish these things  Maxie, you PWN I'm sure you'll do good at physics, though that would explain your absences *marks you tardy instead* I'm a bad stalker too ... read when you can loves I know I post too much too fast  especially with Human Nature. Harmonizer, thank you and welcome ... so ... uhm, how do the characters taste? Not too much salt, eh? Undercooked, over done? Lemme know I love critiques  Y'all rocks so ... here's another post. I'm still wondering what to do with Freddie & Madison though ... to hook up or break up? That is the question. Luna Lovegood was a Ravenclaw, a quiet girl who hid mostly in the shadows, not because she was shy but rather she didn't see a desire for limelight when there was so much more to be garnered by being simply the quiet mouse in the room. Draco Malfoy on the other hand desired nothing more than to be the center of attention when he entered a room, to have his every wish catered to because everyone felt the need to trip over themselves at his wealth and power, a dream he'd seen undone by the arrival of Harry Potter. They could have been friends but the oaf had decided against it siding instead with the Weasleys the poorest of pureblood families in the wizarding world. For heaven's sake they raised chickens! Fate had conspired to bring them together, or maybe it was just bad luck that Draco had decided to walk into Madame Curie's Marvelous Magical Wonderment and Ornament Shoppe. "You're barkers, Loony," Draco replied. Luna for her part ignored him and walked around a giant fish tank that held grindylows as well as assorted magical fish. Draco thought to dismiss her and walked around in the other direction to see what else was in the shop. He walked around large shelves stocked with magical items, mobiles hanging from the ceiling, fancy jeweled items everywhere that seemed to be glittering in the bright lights of the establishment and everywhere a crow, or a cat, or a snake seemed to roam. The people at the counter didn't seem to mind them, drinking their coffee non-chalantly. The people at the tables either, some lost in magical books they had just purchased there or getting acquainted with their newest purchase, a bat or a toad or some other such creature. And yet again, turning a shelf he ran into her again. "Seriously daft, Lovegood." "If you don't like me at all then why do you keep following me?" Luna asked curiously. "Wait a minute. You think I'm following you? That's rich. You're the one that's ... I mean, you came over here I went in an entirely different direction Lovegood. You're mental." "I haven't moved since I saw you," the girl pointed to the fish tank where she was watching winged sea horses jump in and out of the water. And sure enough, just past her was the front entrance where Malfoy had come in. But, he had not gone around in a circle, or walked back past anything so how had he ended up next to the Ravenclaw again? "This is crazy," Malfoy remarked and pushed past the girl and walked out of the store back again into the drizzly evening of Paris. Meanwhile, Luna spotted something that caught her eye. It was a plain and simple locket but, very beautiful on the heart shaped face was a snake and a raven together and for some odd reason it seemed to tickle her fancy. "How much is that, there?" she asked a young boy working behind the counter. "This mademoiselle for you, is very cheap. Fifteen galleons." As Luna Lovegood purchased the locket she failed to see that next to it rested another, but this one had a snake and a lion on it and it was broken almost in two a lightning bolt tear running down the middle of it. It's not what y'all think ... :shifty: then again it might just be EXACTLY what y'all think  Seamus was riding his horse Money-in-your-pockets, out around the hills near his home. It was a bright and early morning and he loved waking up before the sun was over the hills and riding his horse to greet the new day as it began. By inversion, his best mate Dean Thomas loved sleeping in late, was none too fond of animals and wary of anything having to do with mornings or at least not until he'd had his first cup of coffee. So it came as a bit of a surprise to Seamus to find Dean standing outside his hair in a tizzy, his penguin pajama bottoms (Seamus always wore the tops), his blue bathrobe and a cup of coffee in his hand. "What are you doing out here? It's still morning," the boy declared as he reared Money-in-your-pockets in front of his friend. "I couldn't sleep," the boy yawned audibly. "I had this terrible nightmare ... then I woke up and you weren't there ..." "Well you couldn't have been very worried about me, mate," Seamus said nodding to Dean's cup of coffee. "Tea sucks and Edward told me you were alright." Dean smiled at that. The revelation that their friend Edward was visiting as well caught Seamus by surprise. "What? Where is he?" Dean smiled in his best, 'I'm not telling and you can't make me' kind of way. To which Seamus replied with a, 'I've got my wand out want to see me blow something up on purpose,' look. Dean smiled, "Stupefy!" Seamus deflected the spell as Money-in-your-pockets, reared back. The sandy haired boy was laughing. He loved dueling with Dean.* *Before anyone asks about the restriction against underage wizards law ... this is A.U., I'm cheating :P , and if you're really a stickler then they're in Ireland and the laws there are different so yay. |

Writing always takes it out of me ... *yawns* Love is funny. Sadly, loving someone did not mean that they loved you back, Laura thought to herself. The girl was lost in thoughts of romance and summer and how much she wanted to have her love returned. They were betrothed but that meant nothing to him. Boys were ever so fickle about everything, love included. Laura walked along the edge of the pond and watched the ducks swimming by. It was a lovely day and she was madly in love with a boy who didn't love her. Still, she sighed, one didn't give up so easily on love. Her mother, her grandmother, and her aunts had all warned her. "Men don't know what they want, and boys ... ha, they can't even shave. What would they know about what they want?" So Laura walked and held her arms in her hands. She would make him fall in love with her. Not with some silly little love potion, only certain kinds of girls reverted to those kinds of tactics. No. Laura had feminine wiles of her own to use, her natural born charms not magical charms. Somehow she would make him see her in a beautiful light and on a clear summer night while the moon shined down bright she would be holding him and not herself possibly here by the side of the lake under the willow tree and she would kiss Giovanni. At that instant, however, Giovanni wasn't thinking of kissing Laura but killing his cat Prince. So angry was he that he didn't think about what he was doing as he tripped stumbled and pushed Laura in front of him into the pond. They both landed making a big splash and scaring all the ducks away. "Oh, this is rich," the boy complained. "Gio," Laura remarked grabbing at her hair. Covered in mud and soaked to the bone, she wanted to scream but, mostly she wanted to beat Giovanni because he was not supposed to see her that way. "You idiot!" She screamed. "What did I do?" the boy complained. Crying Laura jumped out of the pond and ran home leaving the boy sitting in a pond without ducks or any clue as to what had just happened. "All I know is I woke up this morning trying to find a spell to summon a dragon and all I've managed to do is get everyone riled up at me." "Giovanni!" He could already hear the voice of his great uncle Mario screaming in Italian a bunch of curses about what a wastrel he was and how he had no business playing with a wand and calling himself wizard. The boy jumped out of the water and started running. He had only been trying to soup up the vespa, those things couldn't compete with a Ferrari so what if a few of the modifications didn't take or worked out wrong? Seamus and Dean were happy spending the summer trying not to worry about the world around them, the escaped prisoner Sirius Black still out at large, Harry Potter's constant ascertions that he was fighting the Dark Lord or that he was planning to return, or news that Ottery was once again teaming up with Professor Steamzen in a crazed attempt to create a powerful steam powered giant robot. The exact purpose or use of said Steam robot to be decided at a later date. The point was to get it built now. Not for Seamus and Dean these ridiculous problems, no. For them it was strictly a summer of fun and adventures that would take them traveling to a few places, mostly back and forth between Ireland and Dean's home in Scotland. Still, the days were going too fast for them what with so many things to enjoy. "I love it here," Dean said, as he ran to the river's edge and jumped into it. Seamus swimming a few feet away laughed as he got splashed by his friend. Seamus loved being with Dean but, he couldn't help wondering about the future. Where would it lead them? What lay ahead? An owl was making it's way to them even now on their sunny little lake, an owl with a curious message from an old friend, an owl who spelled trouble in his note though neither the owl or the boys would know it, until waaaaaaaay later. I'm sure by now some of you are thinking, "Why didn't someone shoot the owl?" The Replies: Tina, I'm reading your story ... it's pretty cool and I loved your sorting hat song  I can't wait to catch up more ... really nice work. Maxie, I'm borrowing some of your more creative vibes as you can see with the owl lines  hope you don't mind  Don't worry Maxie, that wasn't a poll question and I am totally planning to go with ... whatever the characters tell me neways ;) Kellybear, you're too cute and I'm not surprised you're in love with Madison. What does surprise me is that you're not in love with Draco :malfoy: he's so cute and cuddly *glomps him* Jess, you're too cute with the reactions and we do have a smillie for gasp btw :gasp:  I'm glad you liked it, ^^here's more. He clung tightly to his jacket and walked down the street quietly contemplating a quiet life. But what indeed was a quiet life when you were one of Ottery's boys? Still, when the call came, one merely answered. The boy walked to the familiar spot, a statue of what muggles believed was Joan of Arc (the plaque had gone missing ages ago and the city was too poor or perhaps too cheap to replace it, it depends on your political inclinations :P ) The statue was in fact Ottery posing in knightly drag as Don Quijote. But, most people were so mesmerized by the attention to detail in the mustache no one really ever got around to noticing the skirt under the chain mail. The boy stopped standing next to the large marble base on which the horse sat, Ottery was sitting on the horse, and on Ottery's statue pigeons were having a greet and meet. Seeing that no one was around he tapped the marble base with his wand and it revealed a secret door. He went into the darkness. She took off her long elbow length white gloves and deposited them on the chair by the entrance, dropped her cloak on marble the floor, walked past the mirror that took up the wall on her right side. The girl shook out her long dark hair, ebony black like the night. The silk pouch at her side she dropped into a box next to the long winding stairs that led up to the bedrooms on the upper levels of the mansion and just in time as another raven haired woman walked down the steps. "Where have you been Alexandra Madison--" She cut the woman off abruptly. "Please, I'm well aware of my whole name, you don't need to bandy it about like a flag the way you do father's." "Witch," her stepmother exclaimed making no attempt to disguise what she had said. "Well you'd know all about that wouldn't you, step?" the girl replied smirking. She sat on the box and started to take off her long white boots. "Don't do that here, this isn't your own personal bedroom!" the woman screamed. "And that isn't your real hair color so why don't we both just stop playing this stupid game of trying to be my new Mommie and we spare ourselves the troubles, no?" "You obnoxious little hussy," the woman exclaimed. "You witchy little basilisk, why don't you take your serpent's tongue and a few choice bits of jewelry and slither on out of my father's house?" "I love your father--" "My father's wealth and power perhaps." "Yes, because his fortune was honestly made unlike you and your mother's ..." "Shut up about my mother, you witch!" the girl exclaimed. Her wand was in her hand and the chandelier lay shattered from where it had slammed against the wall into a million pieces of broken glass. The woman on the stairwell stood staring at the mess in shock. Madison turned to look at the culprit. The house elf bent his head down bashfully and shrugged. "You filthy little ..." the woman began. "He saved your life, you cow," Madison replied. It was not until then that Veronica her stepmother noticed the wand in the girl's hand. The girl had been the one to blast the chandelier down. "Mistress Madison please. I ..." "Vile, little, atrocious animals ..." the woman exclaimed and turned the sound of her heels clicking against the marble steps echoing into silence. "You didn't do anything wrong Poe." The girl stood up and hugged the house elf. "Oh, Poe. If only mother were still here." Madison cried into the house elves shoulders, elsewhere a door slammed. The owl was flying over Ireland. "Bloody hell, this doesn't look like East India. Crikey, those blokes look like they might know who these Seamus and Dean chaps are. I'll ask them." The owl dived down at the boys who were still talking by the pastures. Meanwhile in East India, the proper Seamus and Dean, two diamond traders (read: secretly Ministry Spies) were standing around waiting for an owl that would never come. The boy walked down the busy Paris street. He didn't much care for mingling with muggles, some of them even touched him and bumped him but, Draco Malfoy knew when a friend called ... well, it always paid later to help out a chum, especially ones as powerful, influential, or downright stupid as Teddy and Ottery. "I hope this is good, Ottery," Draco Malfoy mumbled to himself. "Of course, it's good, Malfoy," a voice whispered in his ear. "You know it is if I'm involved." The blonde haired boy made to turn around but, a wand at his back stopped him. "What are you doing?" "Keep walking, Malfeasance," the brown haired boy remarked. "When you get to Madame Curie's, go in. You know the place." Draco didn't need to see the boy to know he was grinning. The scent of cigar wafted past him. Replies: Quote:
