“At least I proved you don’t have to be a really experience player to lead a team to victory,” Kashan said happily. It was fifteen minutes after the match had finished, but the Greensophs were so happy that Kashan could see no possible route of escape. They were all still on the pitch, chattering happily, as more and more students crowded around. Then, at long last, the pitch began to clear.

“Party, guys, come on,” Lily yelled, running off and beckoning Kashan to follow. However, as Kashan stepped inside the school building several minutes later, she realized that she did not have her broom with her. She must have left it on the pitch. Groaning, she turned back and made her way towards the stadium again.

It was empty now. As she peeked into her locker room, the light playing around was suddenly blocked as someone stepped smoothly in. A minute later, she found herself against the side wall as David wrapped his arms around her. “What do you say to a date now, Kash?” he asked.

It dawned on Kashan that David had had something to do with her broom. Possibly, he had hidden it somewhere, so that she would come back for it. Why had she not brought Lily with her! All Kashan wanted, then, was to hit him hard. He had frightened her to death, entering like that.

“Aren’t you rushing into this, David?” she asked, freeing herself from his grip. “And you just managed to scare me, too. No joke intended.”

“Me, scare you?” David asked, pretending to look astounded. He paused, before speaking again. “And rushing into things, Kash? I don’t see what you mean by that, when we both love each other. We’ve been on what some would call a ‘more than friends’ for a fortnight. Don’t you want to get together?”

Kashan nearly told him she did not love him in the least. Quite the contrary, actually. And get together? She had never planned on that. She opened her mouth to tell him she was not interested in him that way at all; and then, when she had least expected it, Tanzeel stepped inside the locker room.

“You done, Romeo?” he asked David, raising an eyebrow. “Because I have a dozen other things to do.”

It was as if she had lockjaw. Perhaps it was all the excitement from the game, perhaps it was all the butterbeer she had been made to drink by the team, as well as Lily; but Kashan could barely breathe, much less manage to say no. Without knowing what she was doing, Kashan glanced at David and nodded.

I think I will, right now. a) Because I'm bored and, b) To celebrate my End-of-Exams. Besides, my paper went AMAZING today [A + guaranteed], so I'm pretty happy about that, too.

Conclusion? I’ll post.

“Oh God, Kash, don’t tell me you said yes, please don’t,” Lily said pleadingly.

Kashan nodded. “I can’t believe it,” she said desperately. “It’s too late to back out now. And it was all because of that jerk, Tanzeel. I just got so … nervous. This is mental, mental, mental.”

Lily remained silent for several seconds, before exploding once more.

“That idiot. Not Tanzeel, I have nothing against him except that he’s too conceited and proud and arrogant and haughty, but David. I can’t believe he jumped on you like that; he knew he would take you by surprise, and he knew you would end up saying yes. He’s an absolute –”

But Kashan was not listening. Picking up her bag, she left the school without even saying goodbye.

It was windy the next morning. Very windy. Even though she did not want to go to school at all, Kashan did; after all, not going would not solve her troubles.

For the first time in her entire life, Kashan wished she had not fallen in love. And to add to her anxiety, the first person she rain into was Tanzeel; and she literally did run into him.

“Sorry,” she said as she bumped into him, not knowing who it was. It was only when she looked up that she realized it was Tanzeel.

“No problem,” Tanzeel replied shortly. He stopped, picked up her scattered books, and handed them over to her. Then he had walked away, before she could even say thanks. Kashan felt like hurling them back at him.

I know, I know, super short posts. But I'm just not in what you call "the mood," right now. Plus, my leg is aching. *sigh-sigh*

On the other [and brighter] hand, I have tomorrow off. And the day after tomorrow, too. So I can hopefully write a lot more in the coming two days. Cheers. ^^
