I love how it is so different compared to Ecstasy, I mean it. Refreshing in a way though I'm still cheering for a sappy-happy ending

Kash and Tanzeel are so adorable, btw. You have to admit there's something really inviting about haughty and oh-so-cool guys

Even with rival captains, handshakes were usually politer and less dry. As Tanzeel's hand touched her own, no matter for how briefly, Kashan could not help feeling as if the whole world was lying at her feet. Or that Christmas had come half a year earlier. Or that, despite everything that had happened only recently, all was peace within her. And then she was mounting her newly polished broomstick.

The commentary ringing in her ears, Kashan sped through the air on her Firebolt. She was glad to be airborne, where no one could see how gloomy she looked; Quidditch happened to be the only thing that could cheer her spirits up in such a situation. Even though she was feeling much, much better now that she was up in the air, she had still not managed to overcome the uncomfortable feeling in her stomach.

The trouble was that she could herself not believe what she had done in the past few weeks – Fallen in love, then gotten together with a boy she actually disliked and had turned down only recently, and then broken up with him when she realized that it was useless to be with him. She was feeling, to say the least, horribly guilty. And infuriated – This was almost as much Tanzeel’s fault, as hers. She felt so, anyway.

And then she was jerked back to earth, out of her thoughts. The snitch! A glint of gold flashed to her far right. Only a second later, each and every anxiety forgotten for several, blissful seconds, she was whizzing towards the snitch, the other team’s seeker hot on her trail. Somehow, she knew it would not be a difficult catch. The commentator’s words, the noise below, the colours all around; they were all suddenly meaningless.

All concerns flitting out of her mind with the speed of light, Kashan reached out her hand to grab the snitch, and –

– All was black.

I'm torn between posting and not posting . . . On one hand, I really want to post; on the other, I think this FF may end before the time I want it to if I do . . .

You guys get replies later, because I have to dash.

EDIT :: I give in. I'll post. Even if you guys have to wait a week before you get the last post.

The Flying Instructor’s shrill whistle sounded and Harry Bennett, the Goldam seeker, rushed back to the ground. Kashan had fallen some forty feet below. Eyes closed, a stream of blood running down her face, it was clear she was unconscious. Looking down at her, Tanzeel wondered if she was even alive.

A crowd of professors and students quickly gathered round, all Quidditch forgotten; there was an apparent note of panic, hysteria and anxiety in the air. Sheryl Jones, the seventh year Royal Blue Quidditch Captain, shook her head as if to say she had seen worse accidents. One of the Professors was bent over Kashan, trying to heal the nasty wounds running down her forehead and shoulders. A volcano of shouting seemed to have erupted on all four sides.

“Dave, why did you do that!” Tanzeel asked, grabbing his best friend by the collar. The sudden anger on his face surprised even David.

“Because she’s a –” he began.

“I don’t care what she is,” Tanzeel snapped, trying not to raise his voice. “I told you not to hurt her before the match began. That’s not how you play Quidditch, Dave. And she was some forty feet in the air, for Heaven’s sake! You might have done her some permanent damage. Even Professor Erickson can’t bring her to wake up, and he’s supposed to be the best healer around here.”

David was breathing very heavily now. Arms crossed against his chest, he made no response for several seconds. Then, finally, he spoke. “I honestly don’t care if I’ve done her some permanent damage, you know,” he said coldly. “And if Professor Erickson can’t get her back to her senses, then someone should take her to the Hospital Wing.”

Tanzeel turned around, still angry, and stormed off to where Kashan lay. Despite all his dislike for her, he could not help feeling guilty, now. David had shot a nastier spell at her than he should have, and Tanzeel knew David felt the same – David Raymond was just too proud to admit it.

“Professor, I’ll take her to the Hospital Wing,” he said gently, standing next to Professor Erickson who looked shocked to realize that one of his spells was not working, and was now muttering darkly.

The Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor nodded heavily. “Sure,” he said. “Hurry up. I’m going to clear out this crowd.”

The crowd really had gotten too wild now. As soon as Professor Erickson told the professors that Kashan Aleen was being taken to the hospital wing, all of them immediately turned their attention towards the task of clearing out the pitch. Moments later, the crowd had lessened considerably. Biting his lip, Tanzeel scooped up Kashan in his arms.

“She tried to come between us,” David hissed angrily at him, grabbing him by the arm as he took one step forward. “She tried to use me, for God-knows-what, and then she used you to break up with me.”

Tanzeel suddenly stopped short, comprehension dawning across his face.

“What?” David asked, seeing the look he wore.

“Oh, God, I’ve been so stupid,” Tanzeel said quietly. A second later, despite the torrent of curious question being rained down on him by his best friend, he had disappeared in the crowd, making his hasty way to the hospital wing.
