With piles of homework, Quidditch practice, detention(s), David and what not to tackle what not, Kashan was beginning to find life at Faztel too hard to be very pleasing, all of a sudden. And to top it all was Tanzeel’s attitude towards her.

He and David had gotten back together as best friend, of course; Tanzeel had told him he would not lecture him about Kashan anymore, and that was the end of that. But the way that Tanzeel did not even look, let alone talk, to her, was definitely making her feel more and more miserable by the day. And, with just one day left before the next Quidditch match, Kashan was finding it extremely difficult to deal with everything she had on her hands right now.

“It’s not working out,” she told Lily desperately. “That plan of yours and Sadi’s, I mean. I can be such an idiot, sometimes. I should have known it wouldn’t. And he suspects me, too, to top it all.”

Lily placed an arm around Kashan’s shoulder. “I know,” she began in a soothing tone. “Tell me, Kash, are you sure you don’t like David? Because I’ve decided he might not be such a jerk, after all – From the way he acts, I just know he couldn’t be more serious with a girl. He’ll stay committed to you; you won’t happen to have thought about that, will you?”

“No, I have thought about that,” Kashan said, much to Lily’s surprise. “Why shouldn’t I have, anyway, when I spend more time with him than the rest of my friends, you apart, put together? I can’tbring myself to love David, and I only realized last night how moronic it was of me to try and use that guy. He doesn’t deserve it, no matter what kind of a person he was – because, trust me, he’s changed, for now at least.”

“So you’re going to break up with him?” Lily asked quietly.

Kashan nodded. “Yes. And soon.”

*tear* Aw, Dave's a good guy he's going to be so sad...but in the grand scheme of things, its better for Kash. She won't feel uber bad about leaving him for his best mate if that ever comes around that is.

Same here love. What I mean is, he's turned out to be a good guy...he's not as bad of a guy as he seemed to act.

I know. He's being pretty good to Kash. It won't take long to wear off, though.

I know I'm a horrible person, and I haven't posted forever but, believe me, I've had had a lot on my mind. *sigh* Posting soon, I pwomise. =)

David – Now, where was he? Having decided that what she was doing was not right, Kashan had also decided to break up with David at once. With the upcoming Quidditch match between Greensoph and Goldam only an hour or two away, Kashan wanted to make sure she would not have to pair David in any after-match parties. But, just as things are never around when you need the most, David was not around, either.

She knew there was one person who could tell her where he was, but she was not going to stamp on her pride by asking him. No matter how much she loved Tanzeel, she was never going to let him know that, and yes, it would have wounded her pride to have to chase him for help.

As she pretended to stroll through the many corridors zigzagging throughout Faztel, her wandering eyes intently searching for David, she stopped short, almost having bumped into someone. Then, turning to look at whoever it was,
she realized with a jolt that it was Tanzeel.

She would be playing against him an hour and a half later, and it made her stomach flip just to think of it. For a moment, both were quite, the silence an unnerving, uncomfortable one. Then, as Tanzeel brushed roughly past her, Kashan just had to say it. “Tanzeel, wait up a moment, please,” she said.

Tanzeel stopped brusquely. “What now?” he asked.

“Do you know where David is?” she asked immediately.

Tanzeel nodded curtly. “What for? Shouldn’t you be practicing for the match rather than trying to turn him against his own house and then cheer for Greensoph?” he added dryly.

Kashan could feel her temper rising. She somehow managed to bit back the retort that she was bursting to utter – If practice was so important, what exactly was he doing there? Instead, she scowled heavily. “No,” she said shortly.

“I have something to tell him.”

For several seconds, Tanzeel did not reply. Then he actually sighed. “Look, Kashan, could you tell me one thing?” he asked. For some, unknown reason, Kashan nodded.

“Good,” Tanzeel said. “Because I would love to know what exactly do you want to get by dating David?”

Dating? Kashan flinched. Then she immediately forced herself to look fierce, rather than the way she was really feeling – miserably aggravated. “Nothing,” she said, her tone icy, and heavy with coldness. “What problem do you have with my relationship with your best friend, anyway? The way you act, I get the feeling you would rather not see me and David together.”

“Glad I’m finally getting my point across,” Tanzeel said sarcastically. “Yes, I despise seeing you and David together; because he’s my best friend, Kash, and I feel very strongly about the fact that he’s actually being used by a girl who does not even like, let alone love, him.”

His voice could not have been colder, and Kashan felt a blaze of anger tear at her body. “Shut up, El,” she snapped back evenly. Turning around in a whirl of green and crimson fabric, she stamped her foot on the ground and half an out of the corridor, leaving an impassive Tanzeel behind.

I think she's doing the thing that's best. ^^
