You know, i was just wondering. Does KasTan mean something specific in Urdu? or did you just make it up? Is it like a combination of Kashan and Tanzeel, cause that seems the most likely to me *nods* Just curious!

Just thought I'd let you guys know - KasTan will probably end sometime in June. I think there are only ten or eleven more posts left. Like I said earlier - It's pretty short.

^ But that's like next month! And Ecstasy's also ending tomorrow with only one more post to go!

Seeing Tanzeel striding across a rarely used corridor, Kashan grabbed her chance. “Hi,” she said politely, stepping up to him. Tanzeel didn’t reply; he merely pretended to be looking the other way.

“You okay?” she asked him, rather sarcastically. Without waiting for a response, she plunged on. “I haven’t seen David in a while,” she said, trying to sound concerned rather than put off; she could never bring herself to call him Dave, even though all his close friends called him that. “Have you?”

Tanzeel jerked his head to look up at her. “Sure,” he said coolly. “Just did.” He half wanted to tell her how they had fought, and over what, too, but he refrained himself from doing that. Instead, he added, “And if you’re so anxious about meeting your boyfriend, go find him.”

Kashan flinched as Tanzeel used the word ‘boyfriend.’ She wished she could have denied that statement but, fortunately or unfortunately, she could not. Tanzeel noticed her sudden reaction.

“What?” he asked, innocently. “Don’t you like being known as his girlfriend? Because, if you don’t, then that’s definitely something Dave should know.”

Kashan had half a mind to hex him. “What are you trying to get at?” she asked, very, very quietly.

Tanzeel raised an eyebrow. “He’s my best friend,” he replied coolly. “And I care for him more than you may think I do. If you’re not in love with him, don’t do this to him.”

And then, before his words could even sink properly in, Tanzeel was gone. He always was.

i feel like smashing the story tanzeel, no offence. i mean, he's a guy, he wouldnt even care if someone used him!... okay he would, he's human, blah blah blah. he doesnt act like a human! i am sure he has ROBOT and OBNOXIOUS and I-HATE-GIRLS-ALOT blood in him, i am absolutely sure. he's so obnoxious, and he is like those... "hey look at me im hot and cool" type! i want to crush his face, kick his ego and dunk his head in a slime barrier or something!

No, it's going to be the name of my new FF. Unless I take it into my not-so-sane head to change it. But, come to think of it, it does sort of describe what Tanzeel and Kashan's relationship will eventually come to, too.

It was seven o’ clock and, by Black Central Park, a multitude of lights and couples could easily be seen, some holding hands. The night sky glowed a bright azure, and it looked like rain. The moon had taken refuge behind a misty blanket of navy clouds.

“Kashan?” David asked.

“Yeah?” Kashan replied hastily, clearly shaken out of her thoughts.

“We’ve been here for over half an hour now, and the only things we’ve done so far is ask each other how we are.”

Kashan nodded. “I know,” was all she said.

David suddenly took both of her hands in his. “There’s something wrong,” he said quietly. “And I want you to tell me what it is. Right now. Are you getting bored or something? Because, if you are, I could always drop you home.”

Drop me home, Kashan thought gloomily. Like my parents wouldn’t kill both of us. Like they wouldn’t have killed me already if they knew where I really was. But that was not what had been disturbing her, all the time she had been with David that day. It was something else – What Tanzeel had said to her in school, earlier that day.

“I’m waiting,” David said, jolting her out of her thoughts for the umpteenth time that day. “I know something’s wrong, Kash. What is it?”

It was then that Kashan decided to speak. “Tanzeel,” she said shortly.

David halted in his tracks. “What did he say?” he demanded, an uncharacteristically angry touch to his tone.

“He told me I didn’t have to ‘do this’ if I didn’t love you,” Kashan replied. The words have kept her thinking all day long. Tanzeel did not know what the reason she was going this, but Kashan was certain that he suspected her to be using David – The guy just did not know what for; and Kashan could not say she was not thankful that he did not. If Tanzeel ever found out, she knew she would be in big trouble. Not only from Tanzeel’s side – from David’s too.

Right now, though, David looked so angry that she suspected he would end up exhibiting some muggle dueling skills next time he met Tanzeel. “I can’t believe he’s doing this,” he said heatedly. “He has been lecturing me about how you’re using me for the past, whole week. But to actually say that to you. This is the last straw. Forget he ever said it, Kash.”

Kashan spotted a comfortable-looking, cement bench and dropped into it. Then she looked up at David. “I’m not sure if can forget it in a hurry.”

Kash: What's your name, again?
