Scarlet tapped it with her wand and the sound stopped. She smiled as Jake’s face appeared, “Why didn’t you answer my last letter? And did you meet him?” Scarlet lost her smile then said quietly, “Father wouldn’t let me use our spell anymore and yes I met him…” “And? How was it?” A girls voice asked. “Annie! Go away!” Scarlet smirked as Jake left her sight and she heard Annie’s protests. “So, I see your uncle and cousin still live with you.” “Yeah, I don’t think they are ever going to leave…and I have another month until school starts. Where are you anyway?” Jake asked looking confused.

“On a train…I would rather be on those vile Cinderella carriages then this thing. You know, I like the robe color this school chose.” A smirk came across Scarlet’s face. “Let me guess…black?” Jake said chuckling, “I remember you trying to change the dress code by wearing nothing but black, you looked so redi-” Scarlet cut him off by glaring at him. “I think it’s time we said our goodbyes, dear friend.” And before Jake could protest Scarlet tossed the mirror into her trunk.

Scarlet jumped when she heard Hermione ask, “What was that all about?” Scarlet rolled her eyes, You’re full of questions, aren’t you? Scarlet stood up then walked out of the compartment before she did something stupid. I wish I was with Lucius and as she thought that she heard a voice that sounded like his but younger. “Budge out of the way.” Scarlet turned and looked into the face of a boy that reminded her of Lucius. “What a nice way to treat someone that could easily curse you to no return.” Scarlet smirked then looked into his eyes and got the same urge she had over the summer with Lucius.

Ok tonights post is a short one.

He couldn’t be the son he had wrote about…could he? Scarlet pushed the thought to the back of her mind. The boy pushed her out of his way then passed her with a smirk on his face. I’ll wipe that smirk of your face, boy, watch and see. Scarlet thought as she glared at the boy’s white blond head. Scarlet turned around then entered the compartment in a way that the trio got quiet and still.

Scarlet sat down then asked in a bored tone, “How do you know my father?” The trio glanced at one another then Hermione said hesitatively, “Err…well…he’s the Potions professor.” Scarlet stood up, “What? He had the decency to tell me a dark secret of his but he didn’t tell me this?!” Scarlet gave a half crazed, “What a father he is!”

Scarlet sat down then crossed her arms, glaring at the floor. “What dark secret?” Harry asked staring at Scarlet. “Do you know what a secret is?” Scarlet didn’t wait for him to reply. “A secret is something you keep. A secret is something you are not allowed to tell.” Scarlet had said the last bit in a dangerous whisper.

“She’s Snape’s daughter alright.” Ron muttered to Hermione. Scarlet glared at Ron for a few minutes then they sat in silence. After they changed they noticed I had a green and silver Slytherin badge and tie. “You’ve already been sorted?” Hermione asked looking at my Slythering badge. Ron noticed the Prefect pin. “You’re a Prefect? What happened to that Pansy girl? I thought she was prefect.” Scarlet smirked. “She was. But Father told Dumbledore that I might do the job better. From what I hear she wasn’t doing her job.”

When the train stopped Scarlet got off the train and ran right into; “Malfoy.” Harry muttered. The boy turned around and smirked when he saw Harry, “Well if it isn’t Potty and his little gang.” He spotted Scarlet, “And you have a new recruit?” Scarlet glared at him, “I wouldn’t be part of their Muggle loving group, and if you hadn’t noticed. I am in Slytherin…and a Prefect.” Malfoy looked at her pin, “Prefect?!” Scarlet rolled her eyes, “Unless the ‘P’ stands for ‘Perfect’ then yes Prefect. Are you that dense?” Scarlet smirked.

Malfoy Scowled then muttered something to his goons and they cracked their knuckles. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you. I am not your friend so I will give you two detentions.” Scarlet smirked as they dropped their hands. A girl walked over to them saw Scarlet then scowled, “So you’re the girl that took my pin from me.” Scarlet glared at the girl and she walked off. Scarlet smirked then looked at Malfoy, “You’re going to have to sit with me.” Malfoy scowled, “You can’t tell me what to do.” Scarlet smirked. “I’m not just stating the obvious. Seeing as we are the only ones standing here now.”

I know..it's short. But I have a good reason...I'm not feeling well.

Scarlet got Pansy's place as a prefect? cool! i don't like Pansy very much...

They walked in silence to the horseless carriages, when Scarlet saw them she smirked. “Now these I like. I might like this school after all.” Malfoy raised his eyebrow and shook his head. “What world are you from?” Scarlet rolled her eyes, “Earth and you?” Malfoy scowled then got in the carriage after Scarlet. “So, you got a first name, Malfoy?” Malfoy smirked, “It’s Draco. What’s yours?” “Scarlet Snape.” She said in a bored voice. “Did you say ‘Snape’?” Scarlet smirked and nodded, “My father is Severus Snape.”

“Well then I better warn you now…I am his favorite student.” Draco said smugly. “We’ll see.” Scarlet muttered with a smirk on her face. Draco gave her a look before getting out of the carriage. Scarlet got out of the carriage and rushed to keep up with Draco. “What was that look for?” Draco smirked, “What look?” Scarlet pinned him to the wall and whispered, “Don’t play games with me, Draco.” “Games? What games? You know, you kinda look good when your angry.” Draco smirked looking Scarlet up and down then stared into her eyes.

Scarlet shivered involuntary then backed away from Draco and ran into the place she saw everyone else going into. Her eyes scanned the room for her father but saw no sign of him. Where is he? Scarlet jumped slightly when she felt someone pull on her arm. She felt that person pull her out of the room then down some stairs. Getting tired of being pulled Scarlet pulled her arm out of the persons hand and turned to glare at the person. “What were you trying to do?” She asked glaring up at her father.

“Do not talk to me like that, Scarlet.” Severus said with clenched teeth. Scarlet looked away and crossed her arms and mumbled, “Sorry…I just…never mind.” She leaned against the wall and slid down it. Severus looked down at her a hint of sympathy in his voice as he said, “Scarlet, why don’t we talk in my office?” Scarlet looked up at him then nodded as she stood up. Severus lead the way to his office, once at the door Severus held the door open for Scarlet. “Go in and have a seat.” He said softly. Scarlet nodded then walked in and sat on a chair.

Scarlet heard the door shut then watched as her father sat in front of her. “What would you do if I told you I was thinking about joining The Dark Lord?” Scarlet asked quietly. “Well, I would say that I would not allow that, plus you are too young. I know that’s not what’s bothering you.” Severus said calmly. Scarlet looked away and whispered, “I just want to go home.” Severus sighed, “I know you do, but you need your education, and it’s not safe to be alone anymore.” He stood up then pulled Scarlet up, “I want you to stay away from Draco Malfoy as much as you can.” He pulled her to the door then they walked down the hall to a blank wall. “This is the way to the Slytherin common room. The password is ‘Salazar’.”

I dont think she can...

Scarlet nodded then after she said the password they entered the common room. “That way is the girls dorm, you look for the door that has sixth years on it.” Severus said pointing the way. Scarlet nodded once again, Severus dropped his arm and watched her, he could tell something was bothering her. Scarlet sat on the black leather couch thinking about what had happened earlier. Why did I do that in front of Draco? “Scarlet? Is there anything you want to talk about?” Severus asked sitting beside her.

Scarlet nodded her head but said, “No.” Severus tried not to smile as he asked, “Does that mean that there is something but you don’t want to say what it is?” Scarlet nodded again, “Yes, I think it’s something I need to figure out myself.” She stared into the fire as she felt her fathers weight leave the couch. She laid on the couch and closed her eyes thinking about Lucius.

“What are you going to do to her, Draco?” Scarlet heard someone ask.

“Shh! Just watch.” Draco’s voice whispered.

Scarlet then felt someone softly blow in her ear Scarlet once again involuntarily shivered. Scarlet kept her eyes closed until she heard her fathers voice, “Malfoy! Step away from my daughter!” Scarlet slowly sat up, she pushed Draco away from her then stood up and walked to her father. Severus glared at Draco as he said to Scarlet, “Go to bed, Scarlet. Now.” Scarlet didn’t move, Severus gave her a piercing look, “I said go to bed, Scarlet.” Scarlet backed away from him then looked back at Draco before running to the girls dorm.

Hey it's Draco! What else does he have to do?

Well....she cares...he is her father after all...but...no I wont say any more!

Scarlet tossed and turn that night muttering in her sleep as she dreamt of her mother.

“Why can’t I stay here?! My friends are here! Jake is here! I don’t even know him!” Scarlet yelled at her mother tossing her stuffed bear at her bedroom wall. Scarlet heard the baby start crying, “Tell me something, Mother. Why did you leave him for Davvy? Ignore the stupid baby and answer me!” Scarlet glared at her mother as she left the room. She sat on her bed and right as she had sat down Davvy came in her room and shut the door. He was making a fist as he walked to Scarlet. He pulled back his arm and fist when he got in front of her.

Scarlet sat up in bed tears streaming down her face. She quietly got out of bed and walked to the common room. She was on her way to the way out when she heard something or someone behind her. She jumped around and saw Draco staring at the fire. Scarlet slowly walked to him, she walked beside him. “Draco?” Scarlet watched him he seems upset about something. Draco shrugged then looked at her and asked in a whisper, “Have you ever liked someone that you couldn’t be with?”

Scarlet nodded, “Yes, I like someone but my father told me to stay away from him.” “Who’s this unlucky guy?” Draco smirked. Scarlet looked away from him but didn’t answer, but instead said, “You tell me yours and I’ll tell you mine.” Draco moved closer to Scarlet, “It’s me, isn’t it?” Again Scarlet only said, “You tell me yours and I’ll tell you mine.” Draco smirked, “Alright, it’s you I like.” Scarlet looked at him and smiled, “The feelings neutral.”

Draco ran his hand through her hair, “So, what are you doing up this late?” Scarlet lost her smile and looked away, “I had a nightmare…well it was a memory…of my stepfather and mother…” “What about them?” Draco asked leading her to the couch. “Well…the reason I am with my father now is because my mother and stepfather had a baby and he wouldn’t buy a new house to fit us all in. He’s a Muggle and a doctor…kinda like a Healer but without magic…anyway, he’s got the money to buy a new house…he just wont.”

“Was that what your nightmare about?” Draco asked as they sat on the couch. Scarlet shook her head, “No, it was about the day my mother told me about having to leave. I had yelled at my mother and the baby started crying…my mother left the room, she didn’t answer my questions, then Davvy, my stepfather, came into my room, I wasn’t expecting it…” Draco watched Scarlet, “What did he do?” Scarlet looked at him, “He hit me.” Draco narrowed his eyes looking into the fire, “And your mother let that happen?”

Scarlet nodded, “Yeah, but she was with the baby…I had told her what he did but she didn’t believe me. Some mother she is.” Draco put his arm around her and whispered, “I wont let anyone harm you.” Scarlet smiled and rested her head on his shoulder. “I’m glad I met you…but you know we have to act like we hate each other around everyone else, ok?” “Yes, I understand.” Draco said holding her close to him. Scarlet closed her eyes and yawned. “If your sleepy, why don’t you go back to bed?” Draco asked. “I’m fine right here in your arms.” Scarlet smiled then felt herself drift off to sleep.

Then next morning Scarlet was awoke by felling someone picking her up. She opened her eyes and saw Lucius, “Luci-” Lucius pointed his wand at her and muttered, “Silencio.” Lucius carried her into an empty room that was still in the dungeons. He sat her in a chair, “I am truly sorry for this but The Dark Lord heard of you and wants you to be apart of His followers, without question.” Scarlet looked at Lucius fear and hurt in her eyes, she stood up and started to the door. Lucius grabbed her arm then forced her to look at him. “Scarlet, you have to do this. If you don’t I will be tortured.”

Scarlet looked away angrily so he came for me just to save himself? Lucius took his free hand and made her look at him. “I will be tortured by having to kill you. I don’t want that, I came to save you. I know you probably think that being forced to join Him isn’t saving you but trust me, alright?” Scarlet nodded then thought of Draco, what will happen to him? Us? What am I to do? I have fallen for them both. Lucius leaned in and kissed her cheek then whispered, “We have to take this port-key.” He pointed to a broken teapot. Scarlet nodded then looked at him with so many questions.

Lucius took Scarlet’s wrist then pulled her to the port-key, he took it in his hand then made her touch it. Scarlet felt as if a hook pulled her and before she knew it she was in a dark room. She looked at Lucius but he ignored her, he pushed her down and said harshly, “Bow before your Master.” Scarlet felt tears sting her eyes she looked up at Lucius. He didn’t even glance at her, she stood up then heard a voice say, “Take the silencing charm off her, Malfoy.” Lucius waved his wand then she could speak again. Scarlet looked at the feared Dark Lord and backed up into Lucius. “No, child, come to me.” Scarlet didn’t move The Dark Lord waved His wand and Scarlet felt like she had no problems or worries.

“Come to me, my child. Come to me now.” Scarlet walked to Him then when she was right in front of Him He took His hold on her off. “Now, give me your left arm, and if you refuse you will die.” Scarlet rose her left arm then screamed in pain as He put the Dark Mark on her arm. She fell to the floor holding her arm. “Take her away, Malfoy.” Lucius took Scarlet by her shoulders and pulled her up. He took her out of the room then whispered, “I am sor-” Scarlet pulled away from him, “Why were you so mean? If that’s how your going to be to me around them then…” She fell to the floor tears streaming down her face.

Lucius went to pick Scarlet up but someone with a deep growl like said, “Leave her be, Malfoy.” “Go back to your pack, Greyback. This is my problem.” Lucius said picking Scarlet up so that she was standing. “What are you going to do? Take her back to school so she can tell Snape?” Lucius looked at Scarlet, “Will you tell him?” Scarlet looked into his eyes, “No, I don’t want to die.” Lucius’ eyes search her face as if he was looking for a hint of a lie, when he found none he leaned in inching his lips closer to hers. Scarlet was lost in his eyes that she had forgotten where they were. When their lips touched Scarlet felt herself drift off to sleep.

When she next awoke she was on the couch in the common room and her father was watching her. She slowly sat up and her father continued to watch her. “Fa-” “Why didn’t you go to class? Where you here all day?” He took her left are and Scarlet winced. “What did you do?” Severus asked in harsh tones, he pulled her up then out of the common room. Severus pulled her into his office then shut his door, “Sit.” Scarlet didn’t move, “I’m not a dog!” Severus clinched his teeth and said, “Sit down, now, Scarlet.” Scarlet sat down and held her arm.

Severus walked over to her and held out his hand, “Give me your left arm, Scarlet.” Scarlet held out her left arm and whispered, “I didn’t want to.” Severus took her wrist then pulled her sleeve up and saw the Dark Mark. “How?” He asked looking at her and dropping her arm. “I can not tell, I don’t want to die.” Severus nodded understanding how she felt. “I want you to get some rest tonight and I want you to go to your classes tomorrow.” Scarlet nodded then stood up when she reached the door she turned to her father. “I’m sorry.” She then placed her hand on the door knob but felt her fathers hand on her shoulder. “Scarlet, it wasn’t your fault.”

Scarlet turned to him once more, “Yes it is. If I hadn’t fallen for Lucius or Draco then this might not have happened.” Severus’ grip tightened, “What do you mean ‘fallen for’?” Scarlet smiled slightly then shook her head, “You know what I mean. I want to catch dinner before bed.” Severus let go of her shoulder then Scarlet left his office. She covered the Mark then walked to the Great Hall. She scanned the room and saw Draco, she ran to him then whispered in his ear, “I need to talk to you. Alone.” Draco looked in her eyes and saw confusion and pain, “Alright.” He stood up then followed Scarlet to an empty classroom. Scarlet closed and locked the door then made it sound proof. “Scarlet, what is it?”

Scarlet paced the room then got out her mirror, “No. I can’t tell him.” She sat her mirror on a desk then looked at Draco. “Are you a Death-Eater?” Draco held her gaze long enough for her to see that he was. “That’s why Father wanted me to stay away…it didn’t work though…but you didn’t do it.” Draco watched Scarlet confused at what she was saying. “Scarlet, what are you talking about?” Scarlet looked at Draco then took a deep breath, “I met your father over the summer, then the day after I arrived I met him around midnight. We kissed and I fell in love with him, but then I meet you, we didn’t even have to kiss for me to fall in love.”

“My father? You kissed my father?!” Draco glared at Scarlet while pulling out his wand. “I trusted you!” Scarlet stared at him shocked at how he was taking it. “Draco, please, try and understand.” Draco advanced toward her, “I was so close to kissing you.” He cornered her then put his wand tip on her throat. I’m a Death Eater now. I should be able to get out of this. But how? I never used any of the Unforgivibles. Guess I just have to rely on the Muggle way.

Scarlet pushed Draco then whipped out her wand, “Expelliarmus!” Draco’s wand flew out of his hand, he looked truly scared. Scarlet didn’t move she just watched him, “I tell you how I feel about you and this is how you react? I just told you that I love you, Draco, but I also love your father. My heart is torn in two and you wont even try to help me.” Scarlet walked towards him giving him the look of death. “I guess I know now who I can really trust.”

Scarlet kicked him then left the room, tears streaming down her face. She ran to the dungeon, when she passed her fathers office she heard, “Scarlet?” She stopped but didn’t turn around, “I should have listened to you.” She fell to her knees and covered her face with her hands. “Scarlet…please come into my office, some…someone is here to see you.” Severus said pulling her up then leading her into his office. “Scarlet? Why the tears?”

Scarlet looked up, she didn’t say anything she just stared at the man she first fell for. “Scarlet?” He took a step toward her and she looked away and whispered, “I don’t know what to do, Lucius. I assume Father has told you?” Scarlet looked back up at him with more tears falling. “That you have fallen for both my son and I? Yes, he has told me, and the only choice you have is to pick who you want the most, who makes you happy.” Scarlet looked at her father, he held her gaze for no more then a second before he looked away. “The choice is yours and yours alone, Scarlet, but tell me this, what do you know about Draco?” He walked behind his desk then sat down.

“Well, I know he either is and Death Eater or wants to be one, I also know that he sometimes frightens me.” Scarlet looked into her fathers eyes wanting him to see what had happened only moments ago. Severus stared deep into Scarlet’s eyes and memories and saw and heard what had happened and yet he saw that she was wanting him to kill or curse her. She’s in so much pain, pain from her heart, pain from her soul…maybe…yes it might work for her better then it did me. I shall speak with Albus concerning it, this will be a huge step for her, but it might help her know who to choose…

still, a great post! Who will she choose? PAMS!

Severus broke the eye contact, “I need to consult about something with Albus. I will be back soon, you two talk.” Severus turned on his heel then left his office leaving the two alone. Scarlet stared intently at the floor acting as if she found it interesting. “Scarlet? Please look at me.” Lucius whispered walking to her stopping in front of her then placing a hand on her shoulder.

Scarlet looked at him then whispered, “I’m sorry, Lucius, I didn’t mean to fall for him…I…I wasn’t even sure if he was your son…” Lucius narrowed his eyes at her, “Do you mean to tell me that you would have wanted to fall for him if you were sure that he was my son?” Scarlet’s eyes widened and her bottom lip quivered. “No! I would never want to fall for two men!”

Lucius pulled her close to him and held her tightly, “I know, I am truly sorry for doubting you, and I am also sorry for having to act as if you were nothing to me in front of The Dark Lord. If I had shown any emotion toward you that would have resulted in the use of the Cruciatus Curse on me…as well as you…and he would have made sure your pain would have been worse.” Lucius lead her to a chair, “Please, sit and let me see your arm.”

Scarlet sat down then pulled up her sleeve to reveal The Dark Mark. Lucius’ eyes narrowed in suspicion after a few moments his eyes widened in fear. He looked at her trying to hide his fear but she saw it, “What is it, Lucius? Is something wrong with it?” Lucius took a deep breath then let it out slowly, “Yes, love, there is…your…your Mark is different…in…in a major way. Here I’ll show you.” Lucius pulled his sleeve up and revealed his Mark. Scarlet looked at his Mark which was a skull with a snake coming out of it, she shifted her eyes to her Mark. She saw that hers was a snake rapped around a rose. She looked at Lucius fear in her eyes, “Why is mine so different then yours?”

Lucius shook his head, “I do not know, my love, but I fear the worse.” As tears formed in her eyes Lucius pulled her in a embrace. “The only thing I know for you to do is show your father, he may know. I have to leave please tell your father that there is a meeting next Saturday and that you have to attend as well.” Lucius pulled back then stood up pulling her with him. He kissed her forehead then her cheek, “Till then, my love.” He stepped into the fire then disappeared.

Scarlet plopped back into the chair staring at her Mark wondering why hers was so different. What does He have planned for me? She jumped as she heard two voices outside her father office door.

“Are you sure about this, Severus?”

“Yes, Albus, I know she is one. I saw The Dark Mark, she said she didn’t want to…but she wouldn’t tell me how…or why…or who did it. I’m worried about her safety, she’s a child. Why would He want her?”

“I don’t know. But lets see how Soulis Mateis affects her first.”

So, I can’t trust my own father? My own flesh and blood? Scarlet stared at her Mark wondering if the difference was even worth telling her father. Severus and Dumbledore walked into Severus’ office. “Scarlet? Is there something wrong with your Mark?” Severus asked concerned. Scarlet smirked but didn’t look at him, “You didn’t notice it the first time? Wow you must be dense.”

“Scarlet.” Severus said in a warning tone but never the less walked over to look at her Mark. “Damn Him.” He muttered. He looked at Dumbledore, “He has her Mark different from the others.” Dumbledore walked over and looked at her Mark as well, “Do you know what it means, Severus?” The way Severus turned white both Scarlet and Dumbledore knew he did. Scarlet covered her Mark with her sleeve then touched her father’s arm. “What does it mean, Daddy? Please tell me.”

Severus looked down at her; his heart had melted when he heard her call him ‘Daddy’. He conjured a chair and sat across from her; he took her hands in his. “It means that you will be having very private meetings with Him. But nothing bad will be happening, you will just be giving him what you know about your own quest he will instruct you to do.” He leaned in close to her then whispered so only she could hear, “Where is Lucius?” Scarlet glanced at Dumbledore and he acted as if he found something in a jar interesting. “He had to leave but he said that there is a meeting Saturday and I have to attend it as well.” Scarlet said barely above a whisper.

“Your Mark,” Severus continued, “will burn lightly when he is calling everyone, but it will burn much worse when he is calling you. Come to me or Albus when you feel the ‘big burn’ but come to me when you feel the light burn. If you don’t then I will find you.” Scarlet nodded then without warning she threw her arms around him, sobbing. Severus put his arms around him, “Shh…Scarlet, please, calm down, I need you to be calm I want you to try this charm that may help you with your decision.” Severus knew that it was no use in trying to calm her down or to use the charm today. He pulled her and held her at arms length, “I want you to go on to bed, Scarlet.” Scarlet nodded then stood up and left the office heading toward the common room.
