48 1/2 hours.

That is how long Maddie has gone without talking to her Tree Boy.

At the moment, she is sitting in the middle of her bed, her legs and arms crossed as she watched her little pygmy puff, wander around her bed.

She still couldn't decide what to name him. Every name she thought of just didn't fit right.

Maybe she should ask him, he would have a good idea. Tree Boy's ideas were always good to her, although sometimes they ended up not the way he planned, like when she fell out of that tree.

Oh well. That was it, she would talk to him about it later.

Maddie misses Tree Boy in case you haven't already realized this. She's been watching Titanic ever since she came home from Diagon Alley.

I'm starting to get bored with that movie.

I keep reminding her that she will see him soon, and with their new found status, she will be able to spend more time with him than before.

This term is sure to be the best one that Maddie's had at Hogwarts so far.

With only three days and counting until the Hogwarts Express takes her back to school, Maddie has decided to make the most of the rest of her summer.

So Maddie, Americkus, Natalia, Colby, and Natalia's new boyfriend Peter went to the new amusement park in the next city over.

It turns out that Peter is totally afraid of roller coasters, which Maddie couldnt blame him for.

She was not very fond of plummeting towards the cement thinking you are about to make a face plant.

But Colby talked her into trying it, he said that if she went on one coaster, he would buy her the biggest bar of chocolate she had ever seen.

Who could resist that?

Certainly not Maddie.

So she rode the stupid roller coaster. Screaming the whole time.

It wasn't even that exciting.

It was actually terrifying.

Colby has small moon shaped marks on his arm from where she dug her nails into him.

Serves him right.

So, after the ride, they went their separate ways, Nats, Americkus and Peter went to have lunch, and Maddie dragged Colby to the nearest shop, to get her chocolate.

Here we are. he said, handing her a bar of chocolate that was almost as big as Clifford's head.

Maddie couldn't help but stare at it a little.

That was THE biggest chocolate bar she had ever seen in her life!

"Maybe we should just sit and stare at it for a while." she suggested, placing the chocolate on a table as she sat down.

This was a hallowed moment.

The biggest chocolate bar alive was now hers!

This was monumental!

So why wasn't Colby letting her have her moment of awe?

Whhy was he speaking to her in that soft voice?

The one she had taught him.

The flirty voice that was supposed to make a girl fall for him.

The kind of voice Pierre had.

Anyway, he was using that voice.

On her.

Oh, this was not good.

You know I like you, right?

WHY?

Of course Maddie knew that Colby liked her, he had liked her ever since she moved in with Natalia last summer.

But she wasn't expecting him to do anything about it.

Tucking her bangs back she shrugged, I dunno. I thought maybe.

Then Colby kissed her.

What was up with guys thinking they could just kiss her whenever they wanted?

Did she have a "kiss me" sign on her back?

Well, at least he didn't kiss her lips, only her cheek. Which could be interpreted as a friendly gesture.

But she knew him well enough to know that it wasn't.

I have a boyfriend. she said quickly, before he gained more courage to try kissing her again.

Poor Colby looked sad, and Maddie felt really bad. She should have told him about Tree Boy.

Especially knowing how Colby felt about her.

She was never good with this admirer thing.

I'm sorry to hear that. He's one lucky guy. was his reply, and she nodded.

Poor Tree Boy. He was going to develop a complex.

Meeeeh.

Luckily Americkus hurried over to them then, begging Maddie to go on the water ride with her.

They didn't talk much the rest of the day, and when they got home, Colby gave her a goodnight hug.

Let that boyfriend of yours know that if he hurts you, he will have to answer to me.

Ugghh. Isn't that what they always say?

Well, it was nice to feel loved enough that Colby would want to protect her from Tree Boy.

When she got back to her room, the first thing she did was turn Titanic on.

The rest of the night was spent eating the entire bar of chocolate and thinking about Tree Boy.

The next morning, she threw up.

Too much chocolate.

How dare they take away our right to talk to someone other than a that-time-of-the-month-overly-emotional-girl? It's all in the realm of unfair that is named Belle's School of Magic for Young Witches.

But, fortunately for Maddie, she and Tree Boy have found a way around that rule, and if I do say so myself, it is quite inspired.

When Maddie writes to Natalia, she slips an extra note in, that is addressed to Tree Boy, and Nats sends it along to Tree Boy's mom, who in turn, sends it to Tree Boy Then Tree Boy sends his letters to his mom, and the process starts over again.

Crafty? Why yes, yes it is.

Hufflepuffs are weird.

Well, Maddie only really knows a handful of Hufflepuffs, but the one she met most recently was odd.

She had actually met this girl back in Diagon Alley, when she was aimlessly wandering and considering buying a Pygmy Puff. But then, by chance, she met up with her again in the hall, just outside the common rooms.

They were talking for a while, and then Hufflepuff girl invited her into the Hufflepuff common room.

Well, seeing as the Slytherins were getting better treatment than the Hufflepuffs, Maddie was sure that this girl wanted to kidnap her and hold her for ransom. That had to be the reason why she wanted her to visit, right?

Well, not exactly. The Hufflepuff girl assured her that she did not want to kidnap her and Maddie snorted, she had not really thought that. Er, um yeah.

In an attempt to cover up her insane moment, she held up her hands with a laugh, turning her palms up and smirking, saying "Bring on the handcuffs."

That's when it got really weird. The Hufflepuff girl was staring at her wrists.

Staring.

Staring made Maddie feel uncomfortable, like someone was appraising her, trying to decide how much she was worth.

And the way she was staring was another issue. Maddie was sure that not even her ex had stared at her wrists in that way, and he was a vampire.

Cedrella Coulter has always been insane, of that I am sure. You never know what she will say next. One moment she is praising you, and the next, she snaps and slaps you.

Living with her was never easy.

So when Maddie received a letter from her mother, she wasn't exactly thrilled. This would make letter number two since she left home.

Number one was last Christmas, when her mother tried to convince her into coming home for her annual Christmas Ball. Which as ALWAYS filled to the brim with beautiful pureblood boys who her mother could marry her off to in a split second. Needless to say, she didnt go home.

But this letter was slightly different than others. This time, she was being shifty and evasive. There was something that Cedrella was telling her, but not telling her. It was like she was warning her of something.

Riiiiight. That made a lot of sense. NOT.

HOGSMEADE!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Maddie didn't know what to do with herself. Literally, she just walked around, looking for any boy that she could find, but hoping to see a certain boy of the tree variety.

She did not, however, see Tree Boy. But she did see two other boys.

Boy number one: Felix.

Of course, Maddie was not paying attention in her search for boys. So she ran straight into one, smacking her forehead off of his collar bone. Ouch.

He was nice enough, asked her if she was okay, it seemed that he was worried he had hurt her, but she was fine.

There was something about that boy, something that made him slightly familiar, and then, she heard his name, and it all clicked.

This boy is the one everyone had been warning her about.

This boy was her brother.

Boy number two: Prince Charming.

He looked depressed, and she did not like that.

It was a good thing that he decided to open up to her and tell her what was wrong or she would have had to sit on his lap again.

Apparently, another girl had stolen Prince Charming's heart from her Potato.

He told her the story, and she couldnt help but compare it to her own.

You like someone, they like you, you think everything is good.

Then someone else comes along and makes you rethink everything. Every single feeling you have for that person comes into view, and now you cant stop thinking about them.

Potato was Prince Charming's Ex-Boyfriend, and Prefect Girl was his Tree Boy.

Maddie chanced upon Prefect Girl when she was out for a walk, and after getting over the initial worry that prefect girl was going to deduct her points for being a Slytherin, she realized that she could actually be friends with this girl.

They talked for only a bit, until they were inturrupted by two small Ravenclaw girls, both of which, Maddie knew.

One was chocolate hating girl, who she had met with Clifford.

The other, was Mr. I Steal Kisses To Make Other Girls Jealous's little friend, who never looked at her the same way after she broke up with Ex-Boyfriend. Which makes Maddie think, if she likes him so much, why doesnt she date him?

Anyway, they gave her stolen flowers from the common room and as soon as they left, she threw them, wanting desperately to aim at the one's head, but quickly decided against it.

It was a good thing that Prefect girl laughed and didn't scold her.
