Dear Diary,
OOOOOO! I am SO MAD AT RON!! He messed up everything! Why did he have to do that? Now Harry's never going to talk to me....EVER! Why can't Ron love someone else? Now Harry probably thinks we're in love....but I'm not with him! Pavarti says that she'll talk to Harry about it...after all, they did go to the Yule Ball together...Wish us luck!

Hermione and Lavender walked around the girl's dorm, waiting for Pavarti. Hermione felt terrible. She had thrown up several times, and Lavender was afraid to bring her anything to eat, she didn't want to leave Hermione.

"Lavender?"

"Yea Hermione?"

"I want something to eat. Can I go with you? Erm...can you come with me?"

"Sure 'Mione."

Pavarti, however, was having a bad time. She couldn't find Harry anywhere. However, she kept running into Malfoy...of all people! Pavarti tried not to notice, but after the 8th time, she got a little impatient.

"Malfoy?"

"Yea Patil?"

"Why are you following me?"

"I'm not following you." Malfoy leaned up against the corridor wall, his smirk apparent. Pavarti tried not to notice this.

"Yes you are. This is the seventh-"

"Eigth."

"-eight time you've- See! You're even keeping track! You are following me! Admit it!"

"No, I think you're following me."

"Good thing I'm not. I'm looking for Harry. Have you seen him?"

"You're always looking for Potter. Did you lose him? Why don't you keep a leash on your man." Malfoy spat bitterly. Pavarti glared.

"He's not my man. For your information, I'm trying to make him Hermione's man. Now, have-you-seen-him?"

"Yes-I-have. I might as well, since everyone's looking for him. He's with Dean at the library."

"Thank you Malfoy."

"You're welcome...Pavarti." Once again, struck by Malfoy's politeness towards her, she actually smiled at Malfoy. Malfoy's smirk disappeared into a smile. Then he walked away, hands in his pockets, whistling a tune.

Harry and Dean were flipping through books in the library. Harry was getting frustrated.

"Dean...I can't find it man."

"Harry, I've told you...there are no books written yet on the way a woman's mind works! Never has, and probably never will."

"Then how am I supposed to figure out why Hermione likes Ron and not me?!?"

"Harry," Dean turned to Harry, "Did it ever occur to you to....wait for it...talk to Hermione?" Harry gave him a funny look.

"Dean, Hermione and I don't talk about things like that."

"Well, it wouldn't hurt to try, or at least talk to one of Hermione's other friends." Harry stared at Dean, confused.

"Hermione has other friends? Who?" Dean rolled his eyes, and went back to the book he was reading. "Dean! WHO?"

"Lavender and Pavarti.They-"

"HARRY!" Harry turned to see Pavarti headed towards him. He jumped out of the way before she crashed into him. She came to a halt, panting. "H-h-harry..."

"Calm down Pavarti. What's wrong?"

"Hermione....wanted to....tell you that...she's sorry...about Ron. S-sh-she want's to ap-p-pologize...they're not together." Pavarti stood up straight and looked Harry dead in the eye. "She loves you Harry."

Dean looked at Harry, as if to say, 'I told you so.' Harry gave a glance to Dean, then Pavarti.

"You're serious?"

"Yea."

"Well, great...but....that's...I don't know Pavarti. It could get wierd."

"Yea, but that's what love's about. And don't worry about Ron. We'll find him a girl, believe me."

Whew, that was kinda long....OK enough for tonight!

Dear Diary,
Pavarti told Harry yesterday, and I haven't seen him since. Well, I've SEEN him, but...oh, you know. Not a word from him to me in hours. I wonder if he doesn't like me the way I love him. Oh my God, if he doesn't, I think I'll throw myself off the Astronomy Tower!

Hermione and Ron left History Of Magic after class was over and headed towards the Common Room. Ron had forgiven Hermione, and Hermione Ron. Which was a pretty good thing, because Harry was still ignoring her!

"Hermione?"

"What Ron?"

"Oh...I was just wondering if....never mind." Hermione stopped Ron.

"Ron...what is it?"

"When you hang out with Lavender...does she...i dunno....mention me at all?"

"Only that you're the worlds biggest prat." Hermione smiled. "No Ron, I don't hear you mentioned by her at all. Why?"

"Oh, nothing." Ron turned his customary shade of red, his ears turning pink.Hermione shrugged her shoulders.

"If you want Ron, I can talk to her for you..."

"HERMIONE! That would be so good of you! Please do? And if she sounds.....I dunno...if she sounds like..."

"Positive to hear your name? Hopeful? Remorseful about leaving you-"

"YEA! That's it! Remorseful! If she sounds like that, well, can you ask her if she'd be willing to give me another chance?" Hermione started walking again. Ron tagged along behind her.

"Sure Ron. Butterbiscuts." They had reached the portrait. The Fat Lady swung open, and Hermione stepped inside. Hermione put her books down on the table, and looked up. In one second, she wished she hadn't. Ron bumped into her still figure.

"OUCH! Hermione what-" Ron stared as well.

Harry and Lavender were locked in a tight embrace...and Hermione had a good guess they weren't practicing mouth-to-mouth resesitation. Ron and Hermione watched as the two grew even closer together, as if they were one person, then Hermione couldn't stand it anymore. She coughed....loudly.

Harry and Lavender jumped, as iff shocked. Lavender turned deathly pale at the sight of Hermione, while Harry just looked sheepish. Hermione felt herself grow angry...no, furious, at Lavender.

"....Lavender...."

"Hermione, let me explain-"

"TO HELL WITH YOUR EXPLAINATIONS! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU! I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND! WHAT HAPPENED TO HELPING HERMIONE, HUH? I'M DISGUSTED WITH YOU!"

Hermione burst into tears and ran out of the Common Room. Ron glared at Harry.

"Harry..why did you do it?"

"Ron...it was an accident. We were just...."

"Save it Potter. I don't want to sound harsh, but right now, I don't feel like talking to you right now. Hermione needs my help right now, so back off. Play with Lavender for awhile, ok?"

Ron could barely keep the tears down himself, but he managed to hold them until he left the Common Room. He searched for Hermione, and found her...at the Astronomy Tower. He approached her slowly.

"'Mione?" Hermione sniffed, and looked up at Ron. Her cheeks were stained with tears. The light make-up she was wearing was smeared. She patted the ground next to her, and Ron sat and put an arm around her.

"Ron...look what I've done for him. It takes me hours to make my hair look like this. I had to go to a muggle town to buy this make-up. I waited seven years for him to come around and notice me...and what do I get in return? He goes and snogs LAVENDER, of all people! Sorry Ron."

"Don't worry Hermione. There's a bunch of girls here. I can take my pick. I'm all set. We need to worry about-"

Suddenly, Pavarti burst in.

"Hermione! I heard what happened! I'm so sorry! I have no idea what Lavender was thinking! Are you ok?"

"Of course she's not ok. But she will be." Ron motioned for Pavarti, and she sat on Hermione's other side. Hermione glanced up, and chuckled.

"Ya know, I said that if Harry didn't like me, I would jump off the Astronomy Tower."

"Not today you're not!" Pavarti held onto Hermione. Ron did as well.

"Harry will come around. Lavender's not that good a kisser." Ron smiled at Hemione's laugh. Finally! She was smiling and laughing. Now they could do something. Maybe.

Dear Diary,
I can't believe Harry...or Lavender. Why did they do that to me? Pavarti and Ron said it will be ok, but....I just don't know...I just....don't know.

"Hermione, WAIT!"

Hermione turned around, and waited for Pavarti. She wouldn't let Hermione out of her sight, not since....well, Hermione hated talking about that. So Ron and Pavarti didn't talk about it in front of her. Ron didn't talk about it either. So Pavarti was going mad. She had to talk to someone!

"Hi Pavarti."

"What's up? Where are you headed?"

"The Astronomy Tower. I go there often. Why?" Pavarti looked troubled.

"Hermione, it's lunchtime. I'm not going to let you starve yourself. We're going to Lunch."

Pavarti gently took Hermione's arm. She led Hermione into the Great Hall. Hermione and Pavarti sat with Ron and Giiny, who was sitting with Dean. Ron gladly moved over for Hermione and Pavarti. Pavarti immediatly began loading Hermione's plate with food. Hermione gasped at the amount.

"Pavarti, I'm not going to be able to eat all that!"

"Yes you will, " Pavarti took on a tone and look that looked suspiciously like Professor McGonagall. Hermione sighed and began to eat. Ronlowered his voice and spoke to Ginny quietly. Dean tried to listen in, but Ginny waved him away. Her eyes filled up, and she excused herself. Hermione gave Ron a puzzled look, and Pavarti and Dean were also looking curious. Ron waved off their looks, and went back to eating. They exchanged looks.

"Ron?"

"Hm?" Ron looked up from his turkey.

"What was that all about?"

"Well, I told her about...you know....Harry. She got upset."

"I can see that." Pavarti humphed, and turned back to her pie. Hermione looked down the table, and saw Harry and Lavender, sitting with some Ravenclaw boys and their girls. She caught pieces of their conversation.

"....Sylvannas, please, have some more french fries. You're so thin."

"CJ, I'm not hungry. Might as well tell Lavender to jump on the table and start singing!!"

Lavender blushed, and Harry put an arm around her. Hermione's face boiled. She saw the other boy speak. He wasn't quite as flirty as CJ-Hermione had heard of his reputation-but he seemed devoted to the pretty girl sitting next to him.

"C'mon CJ. Leave Sylvannas alone. Do you want her to be fat?"

"No, but I don't think she's eating enough."

"Do you want her to eat like her horse Whisper?" The girl asked, and Sylvannas threw a spoon at her.

"No Pyralis, but-"

"It's stupid CJ, she's eating fine!" Harry cut in.

Hermione turned away at the sound of Harry's voice, and saw that Ron was watching her. Ron put an arm around her.

"It's ok 'Mione. He'll come around."

"I...I don't care!" Hermione stood up. "He can have all the Lavenders he wants! They'll never fill the amount of love I can give him! But if he doesn't want me, then....FINE!"

Hermione ran out the Great Hall, getting stares from everyone. Lavender was getting some too, since Hermione had shouted her name out loud. She started to blush. CJ laughed.

"Don't worry Lav. The stares usually go away. Well, not in my case anyway. Pass the soup Joe, my stomach's growling."
