Wow! I am finally back! Had to take my box out of town to my son-in-laws. He is a real computer geek amd was able to get me back up and running!!!! I came home, plugged in and came straight to Snitchseeker! Anyway, I am relieved my story is still here, and I will write more ASAP!!!!! Thaniks for staying patient and I hope you all had a great holiday!!!!!!

Glad to be back!!!!!! Here's another chapter.
The next week was filled with fun for the two couples. They explored parts of the castle that they had never seen before, they took long midnight swims in the Prefects Bath....had long chats with all of the ghosts, including the Bloody Baron, finding him to be not at all as bad as what they had been led to believe. In fact, they had a rousing and fun game of exploding snaps with him, and Ron played him two games of wizard's chess, with both of them winning one game each, which earned Ron the ghost's respect as he was considered the castle expert chessman.
They also had long talks with McGonagall, who was a popular headmistress.
But best of all, each took turns inside McGonagall's office talking to Dumbledore through his portrait. Harry stayed the longest in the office as he shared everything that had happened over the past several years with his former headmaster and friend.
Of course, they all spent time at Hagrid's hut too, as they petted Fang and Buckbeak as well as getting to know Grawp better...he had come a long way under Hagrid's tutilage. Both Ron and Harry taught him how to play chess, and he caught on fairly quickly.
Perhaps, though, the most fun they had together as a group had to be the times they mounted their brooms to play some quiddich. At times, some of the teachers would also join in. They were quite surprised to see how good McGonagall still was, despite her age!
But, like all good things, the school term was about to start, and it was time for them to again say goodbye to Hogwarts and get back to their jobs at the ministry.
On their last day, the teachers threw them a "GoodBye" dinner feast and later, many had tears in their eyes as the young couples entered the carraiges that would take them to the gates where, once outside the grounds, they would apperate to their homes. Each of them kept their heads turned as they watched theit teachers, then, finally the great castle, fade from site. It was a quiet ride for the rest of the way, each lost in their own thoughts.
Once through the gates, however, their darker moods lightened at the thought of going home. Harry and Ginny said their goodbyes to Ron and Hermione...knowing it would just be three days before they would meet again at work on Monday morning.
Hermione let out a big sigh as she flopped back onto their sofa. Ron kicked off his shoes then went and sat down next to his wife.
"I've been meaning to ask you," Ron said. "Besides Harry, you spent the longest time in talking to Dumbledore, and I was just wondering, if it isn't too private, could you tell me about it?"
Hermione took a hold of Ron's hand as she turned to look at him.
"Well," she said, smiling. "We talked a lot about my hopes and dreams for the future now that Voldemort and Snape are out of the picture. I told him about our wedding and our plans for our future and everything. He asked me how I liked being an Auror and if the job really satisfied me."
See paused and sighed again.
"Well, what did you tell him?" Ron asked gently, thinking he already knew the answer.
"I told him I liked being an Auror, and I really do," Hermione said seriously. "But it doesn't satisfy me as much as I thought it would."
Ron knew he had thought right.
"Did you talk about other possibilities?" he asked.
"Well, not exactly," Hermione answered. "You know how he is. He just advised me to keep at it but keep my eyes open for clues, that they would come. Then I should follow those clues and they would lead me in the right direction."
"Well," Ron said. "He has always been wise. Hermione, believe him, and keep your eyes open for those clues. I believe that you will find what you are looking for."
"I think so too," Hermione said, laying her head upon her husband's shoulder as he put his arms around her. They sat there like that for an hour or so, then headed off to bed, tired, but happy.

Thanks everyone! I am very happy to be back! I hated not being able to get on my computer, especially when I had 4 whole days off over Christmas and three off over New Years!
Here's more for ya!
Several months went by, and everyone had gotten back into the routine of their lives. Two potentially dark wizards had been caught and imprisoned by Aurors who included Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Harry and Neville, but most of the time, they were busy catching those who liked to Muggle bait, or those who had used their magic to cause great harm to someone through the three unforgivable curses.
What Hermione liked best was the travel required when checking into rumours of possible dark wizards that had fled to other countries. Ron liked it as well, and found that Romania was a popular spot for these evil types to try to hide. It gave him plenty of chances to visit his brother Charlie and the couple got to see many of the dragons he was working with. Hermione also loved traveling to France, especially when she and the rest of the group could stop to eat at one of the many great cafes in Paris. Once, a trip even took them to Bulgaria where she met Victor Krum and his wife, which made Ron feel a lot better about the idea.
It was soon after one of these trips that Hermione discovered something exciting, even if it was a bit scary!
She and Ron had been home only for about a week when she discovered this "something", but she waited another two weeks to tell Ron about her discovery.
That evening, Hermione waited until after they ate to talk to Ron, who was heading towards the couch. Hermione headed him off, and, with with a knowing smile on her face, said to Ron:
"Let's take a walk outside, it's a beautiful evening,"
Ron looked at Hermione's face as he took her hand.
"She's up to something," he thought, knowing how to read her expressions well. He let her lead him out the front door and down the path that led to a small creek that cut through the woods nearby. The evening was still warm, and the smells of the grasses and the greenery of the woods hung in the air, tickling the olfactory senses with their pleasant smell. The Sun was on its way down, but there was still plenty of light left as they sat down on the bank of the creek. Ron sighed and took his shoes and socks off so he could soak his feet in the cool water. Hermione followed suit. The two sat there, right on the edge of the woods on their one side, watching the Sun start to create those rich colors it makes as it decends into the horizon at the end of the great golden fields in front of them.
"What's up, Hermione?" Ron asked softly.
Hermione's eyes glittered as she gave him an impish smile.
"What makes you think somethings up?" she asked. "Can't a woman have some relaxing moments with her man?"
"I know this woman too well," Ron grinned. "I can recognize an alterior motive when I see one, my sweet!"
"Aha!" Hermione retorted. "I see that I have a mind reader on my hands. Alright, smart one, what am I thinking?"
Ron leaned back and closed his eyes, as if deep in concentration.
"I see that you are thinking that I had better not pick you up and throw you into the creek!" He laughed.
Hermione sat stunned for a second because that was precisely what she had been thinking, knowing Ron as well as she did. It would be just like him to pick her up and threaten to throw her into the water if she didn't tell him what she was holding back.
Ron, who was watching her expression closely, laughed.
"I was right! Wasn't I!" he exclaimed. "Does that mean I should do it?
He jumped up and made as if he was going to grab Hermione to do just that!
"No!" Hermione gasped. "I don't think I should risk that right now!"
Ron stopped in his tracks. He had heard desperation in her voice that hinted of something serious, not hidden fun.
"What IS it, Hermione, " her said gently as he faced her and put his hands on her cheeks and looked her deeply in the eyes.
"I don't want you to throw me into the creek because I'm going to have a baby!" she said, looking back into Ron's eyes to see his reaction.
Ron just stood there for a minute, but his hands never left her cheeks, although his eyes did take on a bit of a glazed look before his face split into a broad smile.
"I'm gonna be a father!" he said happily. His hands left Hermiones face to wrap around her body in a warm and loving embrace. She returned it, grateful that Ron's pleasure matched her own.
Ron sat his wife back down on the soft grass and then he took a seat next to her, but held her hand tightly.
"We have a lot to think about," Ron said. "I think you should tell Shacklebolt and Moody right away. They can have you take on the less dangerous cases for a while. What do you think?"
"Yeah, I probably should," Hermione said. "After all, I do have the baby to think about. But I hate to think about you all doing dangerous assignments without me. Not that you can't handle it, of course, but that I will feel guilty about not being there to help!"
"I understand," Hermione," Ron said. "But it would just be trading one guilt for another, really. You would feel guilty about risking our baby too!"
"That's for sure," Hermione said smiling at Ron. "I guess I had better prepare myself for a boring desk job for a while."
"When did you find out you were pregnant?" Ron asked.
"I have suspected it for about two weeks, but I wanted to be sure before I told you. I went to St. Mungos when you were off with Harry yesterday, and they confirmed it. We have eight months to wait before we meet our little one face to face."
"I can't wait!" Ron said. "Are you hoping for a boy or a girl?"
"It doesn't matter," Hermione smiled as she leaned against Ron in the now rapidly disappearing daylight. "All that matters is that it will be ours!"
"I agree 100 percent!" Ron said, as he kissed her then placed his arms over and under his wife and gently lifted her up and carried her back into the soft flickering light of their home.

Ron and Hermione and a relaxing weekend after Hermione had told Ron about the baby. She had difficulty restraining her giggles as Ron became ever more solicitus towards her, barely letting her get up for anything on her own. When she started to get up to go get a drink, or some fresh fruit, Ron would jump up and say: :"What do you need? I'll get it for you!"
Finally, Hermione had to sit him down and explain to him that exersise was a must for a woman in her position and that it was safer and more healthy for both her and the baby. Sheepishly, Ron backed off and let her see to her own needs and wants. But he found this not to be a bad thing. He and Hermione took long walks together and totally enjoyed each other's company. They were relaxed and at ease. But Ron sensed a change as Sunday evenig approached. Hermione had become a little tense and quiet.
"Is something wrong" Ron asked her.
"Well, no," Hermione said. "Not really. It's just that I don't really know how I am going to break the news to everyone tomorrow."
"Hermione!" Ron said "You know everyone is going to be very happy about it, don't you?"
"Of course," Hermione smiled. "It's just that they will be SO excited that I'm afraid we'll have very little peace! Especially when I get closer to delivery."
"I see what you mean," Ron said. "You don't want to feel smothered, am I right."
Hermione stared at Ron so hard that it made him nervous, as if he had done or said something wrong. But Hermione suddenly gave him a wide grin. "Excuse me," she said. "But I was just wondering when you got to be so smart!"
She laughed, and Ron, after getting over the shock of the statement, laughed with her. "I guess you taught me well," he answered, smiling broadly. "We'll work it out with our friends," he said. "I won't let them get too overbearing. Besides, Harry and Ginny aren't as pushy as Fleur can be with something like this, and even she is getting better about that. I think that if they see you need your space, they will gladly back off and give it to you. After all, you don't see Harry and Ginny at our door every day now, right? Sure, they'll be excited, but I don't think they will allow that to influence them that much."
"You're right," Hermione said. "I guess its just that it is going to change everything at work. I won't be able to make a move without someone being there to make sure I am safe. While I don't plan to put myself or our baby into harms way, I don't want to feel like Harry must have felt when he found out people had been asigned to watch him...follow him everywhere. I know he really resented it, although deep down he knew their hearts were in the right place. I don't want to get that feeling of resentment, know what I mean?"
"I think I do, Ron said, hugging her. "If you start feeling like that is what is happening, tell me, and you and I will go to Shacklebolt and arrange for you to have a leave of absense until the baby is born, okay?"
"Thank you!" Hermione said, looking into his eyes and thinking how much the years had changed him from an insecure little boy into a wise, thoughtful, and mature young man. "Did I ever tell you how much I love you?" she said, hugging him close.
Ron smiled as he held his wife in his arms.
All too soon it was time for bed for a good night's sleep before the alarm woke them up in the morning for work.

I loved the posts! Our little Hermy is pregnate how sweet! I am excited to see what it is. I hope though that everyone is not as over bearing as she fears.

Monday morning came and went, and although there was initial excitement at Hermione's announcement, especialy from Harry and Ginny, everyone sttled themselves into the normal working schedule, much to Hermione and Ron's relief.
Later, after a pleasent lunch with the group outside in the pleasently cool autumn sunlight, Hermione received a flying fax, requesting that she meet with Rufus Scrimgemour, the Minister of Magic, at 3 o'clock.
Hermione stared at the note, wondering what this could be about. Aurors were rarely asked to visit alone, because meetings often were about a group effort either in the works or in progress.
"Ron," she called over to him at his desk. "Take a look at this!"
Ron got up and moved over to stand at Hermione's side as she held up the note for him to read.
"That's unusual," Ron said. "None of the others got one, I'd know about it if they had."
"I know," Hermione said. "Curious, isn't it!"
"Well, just be sure you hurry back here afterward," Ron said. "I want to know what he wants to meet with you about. It had better not be a dangerous assignment!"
"I don't think so," Hermione said simply. "Even when there has been only one person sent on a mission, Scrimgemour always met with all of us together to let us know what was going on, right?"
"Yes, but...." Ron began.
"Don't worry, Ron," Hermione interrupted to put his mind at ease quickly. "If it is, I won't accept, so don't worry, alright?"
"Okay," Ron said. "Thanks, Hermione, you know I can't help being concerned about you, especially now."
"I know," Hermione said squeezing his hand. "It lets me know you love me and the baby, Ron, and I appreciate it."
They looked into each others eyes until they were startled by a deep roar nearby.
"Keep it confined to free hours, you two!" Moody growled, with the well-read scowl of a smile on his scared face. His eyes twinkled.
"So, what's so serious?" he asked.
"Hermione got a flying fax from Scrimgemour. He wants a private meeting with her this afternoon." Ron said.
"Private, huh?" Moody said. "That's a bit strange, but not totally unheard of. I wouldn't worry about it none. He probably just wants to ask Hermione something is all - nothing to do with Auror work. But, just the same, let me know what it is about, Hermione."
Moody gave them a wink with his good eye and headed to his office.
Three o'clock came quickly and Hermione made her way down the hall, into the elevator and down the great hallway that led to the Minister of Magic's office. Nervously, she knocked on the door.
"Enter!" a voice said.
Hermione opened the door and walked inside. Scrimgemour was alone in the office, shuffling through some papers on his desk. Hermione still couldn't get over the fact that, when he held his head a certain way, like he was know, head bent over his papers, how much he looked just like a lion with that thick long mane of his.
"Er...Hello, Sir" Hermione stammered nervously. "It's me, Hermione Granger, as you requested.
"Take a seat, Hermione," the man said as he gestured toward a chair. "Just about finished up here."
She moved to the chair and sat down as Scrimgemour put the papers into a drawer then turned to face her.
"How are you, Hermione?" he asked. "Relax, you're not in trouble or anything. I just want to ask you a few questions, then I might have a small reguest to make of you...nothing serious, alright?"
"Sure," Hermione said politely. "I am fine by the way, sir. Ronald and I are going to have a baby next spring."
Scrimgemour's face looked startled for a moment, but then a wide grin came over his face. "That's wonderful news!" he said. "I congratulate you both! Please pass that on to Ronald, will you?"
"Certainly, and thank you, sir," Hermione said.
"Now, I want to ask you, how do you like your job as an Auror?" he said.
It was Hermione's turn to be startled, especially after her conversation with Dumbledore's photo last month.
"It's fine sir," she answered truthfully. "I do enjoy it, but I have been thinking that something else might come up that I like more someday."
Scrimgemour smiled, studying her intensely, which made her feel a little more nervous.
"I see," he said, smiling, his elbows resting on the desk with his lower arms up and hands together with his fingers pointing straight up, as if in prayer. Hermione knew that the wheels in his head were spinning with thought, and remained silent, watching him as he fingers came to rest under his beared chin.
"Hermione," he said. "I have heard how smart you are, and I am going to be straight forward with you......"I am worried."
"Worried, sir?" Hermione asked, her voice soft with surprise.
"Yes," Scrimgmour replied. "Very worried."
"About what, sir, if i may ask?"
"Well, first of all, Hermione, Please call me Rufas...it will save time and effort, alright? Before I answer that I have a very important question for you. I have been watching you for quite some time...there is something about you...Muggleborn, but truely a gifted, powerful witch. I have done some things wrong since I was appointed as Minister, and my biggest regret was the way I tried to use your friend, Harry Potter. He didn't deserve that patronization at all. That is a mistake I will never repeat, with Potter or anyone else. But, Hermione I do need your help! I sincerely do if I hope to prevent myself from making the mistakes my predicessors did. Those mistakes led to the creation of dark lords such as Voldemort. Sure, things are peaceful now, but there well could be another dark lord waiting to rise and shatter that peace at any time. There always has been. How do we stop them before they can create damage and havoc among us again? - I'm sorry, Hermione, I was ranting! But, I want to ask you, as a respected Auror and witch, would you be willing to take a new job as my personal undersecretary? You will always be an Auror, Hermione, even of your desk no longer lies within the Auror office, but here, helping me, you could even do more. This ministry needs some straightening out, and I need to know, will you help me to do it?"
Hermione sat stunned. ("Just watch out for the clues," Dumbldore had said! This was definately one of the clues he was talking about!)
"Would you take my advice seriously?" she asked, surprisised by her our braiseness and courage in asking this very important question.
"Definately!" Rufas said, respectfully, looking her in the eye. He knew how astute that question had really been and how much courage it took to ask it.
"I think I would like to give it a try," She said. "But first, I must have time to discuss this with my husband. May I give you my answer in the morning?"
"That is good enough, Hermione," Rufas said. "And tomorrow, if the answer is yes, I will give you a full job description. I think you'll like the variety here. And, Hermione," hge added with a wry smile, " I would appreciate it if you kept the main points of this coversation just between you, me and your husband, alright. It wouldn't be good for it to get out that I confessed I was scared - it would smear my lionly image."
Hermione laughed softly. "Don't worry, sir," she said.
"Rufas!" he said, cocking his head at her.
"Okay, RRufas!" Hermione said as she made her way to the door.
"I'll see you first thing in the morning," she said.

Interesting twist... I do have a bit of apprehension at his motives. However this is coming at a good time for Hermione, it will be good for her to be out of the field what with her expecting and all. In my jaded experience, it seems that even the most innocent and thoughtful of request often supports some hidden agenda when it comes to public officials and politician. Maybe I am just being overly cynical, but I will keep my eye on that one

Hermione headed back to the Auror's office filled with a mix of emotions! She knew that after what the Ministry had done to Harry when he tried to tell them all that Voldemort was back was terrible, and some of those people behind the attacks on those that had agreed with Harry were still in various positions of power, including that hag Delores Umbridge, although she had lost a lot of her influence after her Hogwart's fiasco and lost her job as Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic....Scrimgemour, at least, wanted nothing to do with her. That was a plus! But, knowing he had also tried using Harry, she definately didn't trust him, although he had seemed sincere! 'But here is a chance to learn more about how things are really run in the wizarding world!; said an inner voice in Hermione's head. "I guess it would be opening doors that I might not otherwise get a chance to notice," she said to herself. But before she made any decision, she knew that she must talk to several people....Ron, of course, Harry, Lupin, and perhaps Shacklebolt and Moody as well.
"There are some good people who work for the ministry," she thought. "There's Mr. Weasley, of course, and there needs to be more!"
Hermione finally looked up from her musings and realized she had passed the elevators that would take her back down to her office. Shaking her head, she turned around to head back, then heard a voice calling out to her. She stopped and turned back around.
It was Arthur Weasley! He waved at her and hurried to catch up to her.
"Hermione!" he said, putting his hand on her shoulder. "I just heard the wonderful news! you and my son are going to make me a grandfather! I am so happy for both of you!"
"Thank you, Mr. Weasley," Hermione said, smiling. "Has Mrs. Weasley heard yet?
"I just told her a little bit ago," he answered. "And i must say she is just as thrilled as I am! We thought Fleur and Bill would be first, but I think Bill's job keeps them apart for days and sometimes weeks. That could have something to do with it! Say, how about the two of you coming for dinner with us next weekend! Molly would love to see you both! But, Hermione, there's just one thing you must do for us, alright?"
Hermione looked at Mr. Weasley quizically, wondering what he might be about to ask. "Sure, Mr. Weasley," she said. 'I'll try!"
"Oh, don't worry," Arthur said. "My request is very simple. You see, Hermione, I find you using our last names to be just a bit too formal, and although I realize old habits are hard to break, I am asking you to try to call me Arthur and my wife Molly! Could you do that for us, please?"
Hermione smiled. "Oh course! It is an old habit, but I will do my best to break that habit, AAArthur!"
Arthur laughed!
"There! It wasn't that hard now, was it!" He said.
"It'll take some getting used to, though," Hermione said, chuckling herself.
Arthur put his hand on Hermione's shoulder.
"So, where are you headed?" Arthur said. "When I first saw you, you looked lost in your own thoughts!"
"I was!" Hermione said. "AArthur, I need to talk to you, privately. Is there somewhere we could go and talk?"
"So, this is serious, is it?" Arthur asked, looking at Hermione closely. "It's not trouble is it?"
"Oh no!" Hermione answered shaking her head. "I just need your advice about a possible career change."
"Oh!" Arthur said, looking half relieved and half surprised. "Alright. Why don't we take a walk down to my office. We can have some privacy there, and yoiu can send a quick memo to your office regarding your whereabouts so they don't worry. Just tell them I ran into you and invited you down for a quick lunch. Are you hungry?"
"I guess I am!" Hermione said, smiling.
The two walked to one of the lifts and headed down to Arthurs office.

Awesome post! Hermione is wise to be a bit apprehensive about the Minister's request. I think it would be a good opportunity for her, but she would need to keep her gaurd up of course. That was cute the way Arthur posed to her to stop calling Mr. Weasley! That is a bit silly, since she is having his son's baby! So excited about your story!

This is my first time ever posting at a story. This story is great. I wonder what will happen to Hermione and Ron's baby! Girl or boy? Should be like those two. PAMS!!
