The classes became even tougher as they went along. They not only needed to learn stealth, powers of observation, and defense - but new classes were added, such as the Art of Diplomacy and Understanding Wizard Law. Hermione and Ron saw their words to Molly come true as they spent more and more nights at the Burror to save them time getting to classes and study opportunities with Harry and Ginny. One of the toughest lessons to learn, they found, was the waiting....waiting to observe someone they were watching, waiting for the right time to act, waiting in the rain, the snow....the cold! They learned the tricks to keeping dry and warm despite the elements and tricks to occupying the mind without dulling the senses while on the job. None of them would have ever believed how much there really was to learn. The time passed quickly, and before they knew it, they were in their final year of study.
The class load had dropped tremendously, but now they were busy learning the finer points in dark detection, such as the knowledge of detecting old magic, or the magic that had been performed months or years before.
"This was the same method Dumbledore used when we went after that horcrux inside the cave that night," Harry said to Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Neville. "I always wondered how he did that!"
They also learned how to disarm dark objects, ranging from cursed objects to horcruxes. They also learned that this was never to be taken lightly. Especially with horcruxes that were protected fiercely by spells to prevent their destruction. Those spells could be deadly and needed to be handled with special care that demanded quick reactions and defense. The trick was to unravel the spells, one by one, that wound around the object. These "threads" were invisible to the naked eye and only a very specific spell could render them visible enough so that they could be slowly and painstakenly removed, but even then, mistakes were easy to make and one had to be well prepared and constantly on guard against attack. The students remembered Dumbledore's blackened hand, but admired his ability at his age of 150 to even have a chance to succeed! They each knew what could happen if one's reflexes were not quick enough.
They practiced disarming cursed object and even fake Horcruxes that had been "loaded" by their instructors. Although none of these spells were deadly, they were definately painful enough reminders that they had to be extremely careful and keep their attention solely on the object they were working with. Not one of them walked away without some painful reminder during the first dozen or so classes.
Finally, the day came that their studying was through. Without even knowing it, they came to class one day almost three years after classes began, only to be told to meet inside the Great Hall of the Ministry in one hour.
"What do you think is going on? Ron said to the other four. "Do you think this will be some kind of test or something?"
"You mean they might take us somewhere to test us?" Neville asked.
Harry, Ginny and Hermione just shook their heads. They had no idea. They decided to go on up to the Great Hall and wait.
Up at the Great Hall, Harry noticed that the fountain that had been destroyed during his encounter with Voldemort and bellatrix all those years ago had been repared just the way it had been before. Hermione frowned. She still did not like what the fountain symbolized. It stood there, golden images sparkling in the appearancxe of harmony between wizards and magic creatures, but, not much had changed from the old reality, even after Voldemort's defeat when the discontent of some of those creatures led them to the Dark Wizard's side with the promise of better treatment. She sighed and tried to push her dark thoughts aside. The hour, when it was almost up, found Ginny and Hermione sitting close together in conversation in the hallway outside the Great Hall, while Neville, Ron and Harry leaned up against a nearby wall locked in their own conversation.
] Suddenly the doors to several elevators sprung open at once and Lupin, Mad Eye, Tonks, Durlish, Shacklebolt, and many others, along with the Minister of Magic exited and came walking toward them with serious looks on their faces.
"Oh, oh!" Ron whispered. "This looks very serious!"
The boys had made their way over to the girls as the others approached.
"Come on, you lot," Moody growled, motioning them to come over to them.
The five of them stood motionless in front of the group, waiting to hear what was happening, or going to happen by the look on their faces.
"Alright," Lupin said. "It is time to get busy! We have a lot of highly dangerous work to do!
"Now, listen close!" Shacklebolt hissed. "There are a bunch of armed witches and wizards we have to face. You lot will be in definate danger of........"
Then, suddenly, his face broke into a huge grin, which spread to each of the Aurors faces as Shacklebolt said.
"Being poked by the pins of the people behind you!"
The five spun around quickly, startled, only to find their families waiting there for them, smiling and holding out their new Auror's robes. Each had a box of pins to hem the robes to fit. Laughter suddenly echoed through the Great Hall.
"Congradulations, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny and Neville! You now are officially Aurors. You each passed your classes with distinction!" Shacklebolt announced. "Welcome to the group!"
The Weasley's were all there as was Neville's Grnadmother and Uncles. They were all beeming proudly as they placed the new robes over their shoulders and each of them saw the special patch on their right chests that designated them the honor to be called "Auror".
It took only minutes for the robes to be pinned then magically "sown" to each new Auror's specifications.
With the snape of his fingers, the Minister conjured up tables laden with a feast for the newly installed and their families. Hungrily, they all sat down and ate.

Almost three whole years after Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Harry and Neville started classes to become Aurors, they were given a surprise graduation party at the Ministry. It had not only been three years of classes, but three years of marraige for Ron and Hermione, and the two of them looked forward to having more time to themselves now. Harry and Ginny felt the same way. Their relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend had not changed, except that they had been forced to concentrate more on their studies than each other. Neville also had spent much more time away from his wife than with her for the past three years and was anxious to get home and make up for some of that lost time.
The new inductees were told to go take a month-long vacation before coming in to report to work, and each of them planned to make the most of their time.
"Before you two apperate on home," Ginny said to Hewrmione and Ron, "Mum, dad, Harry and I want you to stop by the Burrow for special dinner. It won't be as heavy a meal as we just had, but mum is cooking something special for all of us."
Ron and Hermione looked at each other and laughed.
"Postponed again," Ron giggled. "I guess we had better do what mum wants or we'll never hear the end of it!"
"Well, I guess we can wait a few more hours," Hermione said, her eyes sparkling with humor.
Neville had already said his goodbyes and apperated home with Luna. It had been nice to see her again at the graduation ceremony, but it was rather odd how she had changed. She still retained that brutal sense of honesty, but she no longer made those rediculas claims of seeing or knowing impossible creatures.
"How's everything at the Quibbler?" Ginny had asked her. "I hear you have practically taken over for your dad."
"Yes," she answered. "Dad hasn't been the same since we came back from that hunt for Crumpled-Horn Snorkacks. Finding out they did not exist was quite a blow for him. But the Quibbler is doing very well now, thank you. We have as much readership as the Daily Prophet now, and I have been able to give my father a badly needed rest and buy him a cottage near the sea. He loves it there and Neville and I visit as often as we can."
"That's wonderful news about the Quibbler," Hermione said. "It's great to know your doing well enough to help your father now."
"Yes, " Ginny agreed. "But it looks as if your father was not the only one affected by that failed hunt. You have changed too, Luna. I am proud of you! We all are!"
Luna looked down at the floor.
"You all tried to tell me, but I wouldn't listen because of dad. It's like I HAD to believe....for him." Luna said softly. "Everyone, including you lot, thought I was somewhat crazy...... but you didn't hold it against me like others did. I want you to know, I really appreciated that!"
"We always liked you, Luna" Harry said. "You ARE our friend and always have been."
"Thank you, Harry." She looked up and saw tears in her friend's eyes, but they were not sad. Those were glad tears she saw and her heart filled with joy.
"You all will have to come visit Neviile and I sometime," she said. "But now it is time to go home.....take care of yourselves everyone!"
She and Neville apperated home, leaving her friends feeling happy for her and her husband, Neville.
"Well, what should we do while we're waiting to go to the Burrow?" Ron said, breaking the other's silent thoughts about what had just happened.
"Lets go the Diagon Alley!" Hermione said excitedly. "There are some new books I've been wanting to check out!"
"You and your books!" Ron said with a teasing smirk. "We just got done with three years of books, but now you want more!!!!!!! I'm gonna have to break you of that habit when we get home!"
"Oh yeah?" Hermione said, returning the tease. "I suppose YOU'RE going to come up with something better for me to do, are you?"
Ron just looked at her and smiled.
"Come on Harry!" Ginny said playfully, grabbing Harry's arm. "I think these two are gonna need to get a room!"
The four of them began laughing so hard that they couldn't go anywhere until they had pulled themselves together.
It took them longer top get to Diagon Alley than they thought it would after that, but they did make it to the Leaky Cauldron finally and, still laughing lightly, opened the door and entered the old tavern/Inn.
"Hey Tom!" Harry called over to the old man behind the bar. "You doing alright?"
"Yup!" the old man answered. "Glad to see you lot! Been a couple years since you last visited."
Harry looked around to see who was in the bar. There were just a few customers at this hour, and, to his pleasure, he saw that he knew them all. He would be safe telling Tom.
"Tom," Harry said quietly. "Sorry it has been so long, but the four of us, plus Neville Longbottom have just graduated classes. You are looking at four offical Aurors!"
"Well, that's great news!" Tom said, smiling."
One of the patrons, Doris Crockford came up quickly to shake their hands.
"Tom," she said. "Get these young ones a mead on me, alright?"
"Thanks, Mrs. Crockford." Harry said. "We have time for just one. We have to be somewhere else soon and still have to pick up a few things in Diagon Alley."
"Just call me Doris," the woman said, smiling. "Its my pleasure, and congratulations to all of you!"

Thank you again for all your comments and support! I wish I could write during the weeknights, but I am usually SO tired after work especially on Tuesday and Wednesday nights after we have put out the paper for the week! I want to be at my best when I write, so bear with me, alright! I will definately post this weekend!!!!

After spending the afternoon at Diagon Alley, the four new Aurors apperated back to the Burrow for Molly's special dinner.
"Ummmm!" Ron said as they approached the kitchen, "I smell onion soup cooking!"
"Smells delicious!" Hermione agreed looking over towards Harry and Ginny and noticing they were walking very close together and whispering consiratorily.
"So!" Hermione said. "What's up with you two?"
Ginny blushed as she turned to look at Harry.
"What makes you think something is up?" Harry said, innocently.
"Come on, Harry!" Ron said. "We know you too well! Somethings up, so...Out with it!"
"Sorry Ron," Harry laughed as he and Ginny headed quickly toward the door "Nothing to tell right now! I'm starving and I am going in to eat, are you?"
Ron and Hermione stood for a moment and looked at each other questioningly before they followed their two friends inside.
As usual, pandemonium reigned inside as the rest of the Weasley family surrounded them, firing questions left and right. The mystery with Harry and Ginny was quickly forgotten. Soon, the family was sitting down at the table enjoying their hot soup and freshly baked bread.
A little later, bowls were empty and they guys were leaning back in their chairs patting their rounded bellys in satisfaction.
"You outdid yourself this time, Molly!" Arthur said, smiling. "That was wonderful."
Everyone else agreed.
Molly, who was in the process of clearing the table, blushed a little. "Thank you!" she said.
Suddenly, Harry stood up and cleared his throat. Hermione and Ron quickly recalled the way Harry and Ginny were acting earlier and looked at each other. Hermione's face was lit with a huge smile as if she knew what Harry was going to say, leaving Ron stymied for a moment. But then it hit him....right before Harry made his announcement, Ron also knew what he was going to tell them and smiled widely back at his wife.
Harry cleared his throat nervously, then said. "Ginny and I have decided that we have waited long enough," Harry said. "We are going to be married."
Molly absolutely squeeled in delight.
"YOU have waited long enough!" Fred began.
"We have been waiting and wondering when you two were finally going to do what has been obvious for years!" George added.
"It's about time!" They said together.
Harry and Ginny both blushed.
"We decided to wait until we graduated," Harry said with a grin. "After all, Ron and Hermione didn't leave us much choice getting married right before we started school, did they?"
"Uh, sorry about that, mate," Ron said, in mock seriousness. "If we had known the two of you wanted to go first...well..."
"That's just too bad!" Hermione burst in, laughing as she went to give Ginny a big hug of congratulations.
Everyone was now laughing and hugging Harry and Ginny.
"Looks like we have another ceremony to prepare for," Arthur said. "Should we send an owl to Bill and Fluer so she can come help you plan, Ginny?"
Ginny shot her father a "Don't you dare!" look as she wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes.
"Let's put off telling them for a little while yet," she said with a grin. "I would like to make my own plans, thank you!"
"Have you set a date yet?" Molly asked.
Harry and Ginny looked at each other then to Ron and Hermione and smiled.
"We didn't want to rush into anything," Harry said, looking pointedly at Ron and Hermione. "We thought we'd give you longer than three days to prepare,"
He then broke down laughing so hard he had to wait several minutes before he could continue. Ron's attempt at shooting him a dark evil look had failed so miserably, everyone had burst into laughter, causing Ron to blush darkly, but he also couldn't hold back the laughter as Harry clung on to him to keep from falling to the floor.
"Hem, Hem....." Ginny made her excellent imitation of the sound of their old nemisis, Delores Umbridge.
Everyone pulled themselves together and looked at her.
"If this keeps up, we'll never make it to the alter!" she said, smiling. "No one will be able to walk down the aisle through all this laughter! Harry and I have decided to get married in two weeks at the gazebo on the Hogwart's grounds by the lake. It is there that we finally realized how much we really loved each other. We have already spoken to Minerva McGonagall, and she has kindly granted us permission."
The room filled with cheers. It had been almost four years since the four friends had been back to the castle that had meant so much to them.

After celebrating with the Weasley's and Harry for a while, Ron and Hermione finally found the opportunity to excuse themselves and get home. Finishing with their goodbyes, they apperated back to their house and settled in.
"I am SO glad to finally be home," Hermione said. "We have an entire month to rest and relax and enjoy each other's company!"
"An enjoy it I will," Ron said as her wrapped his arms around his wife. "It almost has seemed as if we were back to just being friends again with all the work we have been doing these past three years. Now, I want you all to myself for a while!"
Hermione smiled, her heart light for the first time since their honeymoon.
"No stress," she said, smiling. "Unless you count helping Ginny and Harry get ready for their big day."
"I have a feeling that they won't need too much help," Ron said. "I feel sorry for Harry though! He won't have a lot of time to be with Ginny until after the wedding. Remember how hard it was for us to find an excuse to get away?"
"Harry?" said Hermione, raising her eyebrow and cocking her head at Ron. "What about Ginny! She'll have a lot more to do to get ready that Harry will!"
"Are you trying to start a fight over who will have it worse?" Ron said with a sneer as he picked up his wife and carried her toward the bedroom. "We can wrestle it out in here!"
Hermione laughed, pushing her hair from her eyes as she hung over Ron's shoulder. "Alright," she said. "You win, for now anyway!"
The next two weeks went by quickly as the couple, like the newlyweds they really were, considering everything that had passed over the last three years. They gardened, decorated the yard and house to completely make it their own. Every now and then they went shopping, and Hermione showed Ron how to exchange Galleons, Silver Sickles and Knuts into Muggle money at Gringotts so they could shop in London for items not available in Diagon Alley. Ron found this education in muggle ways quite fascinating and often sent "Pig" over to the Burrow carrying letters to his father about the new and interesting things he was seeing. Pig occasionally got wore out, and finally refused to fly at all until he was given a small vacation due to the questions Arthur Weasley would send back for his son to answer.
Visiters also came over occasionally, including Minerva McGonagall, Remus Lupin, Tonks, Neville and Luna, not to mention the family visits from Harry, Ginny, Molly, Fred, George, Bill and Arthur.
But everyone made sure that the couple had plenty of time for each other.
The wedding of Harry and Ginny was now just days away, and the two dropped over to give Ron and Hermione an update on the plans.
"Ginny and I will go to the castle the night before the wedding to make sure everything is set up in the morning," Harry explained. "Everyone else will come at 1 p.m. We will all meet down by the lake at the gazedo near Dumbledore's tomb."
"Ron, you and Hermione won't have to do anything other than get yourselves dressed and get there," Ginny said. "I made sure that my maid of honor and Harry's best man would have little to do. I put Fred and George to work, after all, they are still bachelors and can take the time away from their shop as it is doing so well."
"Ginny," Hermione asked. "Is there anything we can do to help you get ready between now and then?"
"Oh no," Ginny smiled. "I've had all the help I've needed. You know, as soon as the message was sent to Bill, Fluer was right there, and believe it or not, she was really a great help! I think the experience she had with you two taught her a lot! She wasn't even pushy!"
"I'll bet she was warned about your Bat-Bogie Hex!" Ron said, making everyone laugh.
"Maybe," Ginny said. "But she really did help a lot!"
"I'm so glad," Hermione said. "I felt bad because I thought you might have really needed help, but knew that Ron and I wanted some time alone, so you wouldn't ask."
Ginny laughed, hugging her friend. "Believe me Hermione, if I had needed help that badly, I would have come knocking!"
"Well," Harry said. "I guess you are as ready as we are. We'll see you both at the wedding, huh?"
"Wouldn't miss it for the world, Mate," Ron said as he and Hermione walked them to the door.
