The next chapter is as follows:
The shifting staircase brought me to the portrait of the Fat Lady, which led into the Gryffindor house. A multitude of Gryffindor students were surrounding it, whispering fearfully and shooting glances around.
Oliver, who was walking beside me, craned his neck over the many heads and gasped. His eyes widened.
“What’s happening?” I asked quietly, adding to the noise of murmurs. Then I saw it. The portrait had been slashed multiple times and the Fat Lady was nowhere to be seen. Like Oliver, my eyes grew larger and I took a sharp intake of air. “Who did this?” I was still confused.
“Sirius Black.” Oliver’s voice was low and serious. “He’s been after Harry ever since the school year started.”
Professor Dumbledore pushed through the swarm of students. Behind him trailed a few other teachers. Soon orders were issued to find the Fat Lady.
“What’s going to happen to us?” I heard Parvati whisper fearfully. And I found myself wondering the same thing.

All houses were rushed to the Great Hall to spend the night. More fear was stirred up with the knowledge of Sirius Black on the loose in our school.
Sleeping bags were placed in a disorganized fashion, scattered around the Hall. The prefects were monitoring us, trying to appear calm. Inside, I could tell that they were full of jittery nerves, just like the rest of us. My stomach wouldn’t stop churning.
I dragged my own sleeping bag to the side once I spotted Leanne setting up hers with Pansy and a few other Slytherins. Jealousy and anger burned inside me. Don’t keep dwelling on your anger, my conscience told me softly.
Once I had laid out my makeshift bed, I crawled in and closed my eyes, wanting to turn away from the harsh world. A shuffling noise beside me made me re-open my eyelids. Oliver was pulling his hefty sleeping bag towards mine.
“Can I sleep here tonight?” He asked politely.
I nodded happily, watching his every move. He placed his sleeping bag alongside mine and burrowed under the folds in a gopher-like manner, which made me laugh. When he poked his head out of the opening, his sparkling grin captured my attention.
“Goodnight,” He murmured.
“Goodnight.” I could feel his gaze on me as my eyelids closed. Contentment filled me as I attempted to fall asleep. However, after ten minutes, I oddly didn’t feel tired.

More in the night... Opening my eyes, I was startled by Oliver’s face inches away from my own. His eyes were smiling at me. “Can’t sleep?” He asked quietly, trying not to draw attention from the prowling prefects.
Shaking my head, I allowed myself to get lost within his eyes. They were so beautiful, so full. I absorbed all of his facial features, savoring the moment. Our sleeping bags were so close that I could feel the warmth of his body and every time he shifted.
“Grace?” Oliver whispered. When I acknowledged him, he continued, “Tell me more about yourself.”
I quietly told him about my Muggle mother, my dad who was a wizard, my sister, and my brother who had died. I let him know about my other hobby of playing the flute. I confessed my fears about life and described the troubles between Leanne and me. So many words poured out of me and I found myself becoming more comfortable with sharing my thoughts with Oliver. He just listened to me, blocking out all else. When I was finally done, I asked, “What about you?”
Oliver thought for a moment. “Well, my mom and dad are both wizards. I have an older brother and sister who both love to play Quidditch. That’s probably where I got my interest in the sport…” He told me about his house in London and his pet dog. He admitted that the thing he feared most was failure. “I have a hard time dealing with it,” he acknowledged.
“Shh!” Percy Weasley warned as he tiptoed towards us, putting a finger to his lips. “It’s already two o’clock in the morning.” He lurked away, searching for more socializing people.
I yawned, which gave Oliver the signal that it was time to sleep.
“Goodnight again,” I mumbled, half awake.
“Goodnight. Sleep well.” Oliver reached over and entwined his fingers with mine.
Smiling, I squeezed his hand gently, feeling the heat. Despite everything else, I felt happy for once. My eyelids felt heavy and I was glad to finally be sucked into the world of dreams.

Yes, I totally agree with you! Poo on finals and midterms. But alas, (ha ha so poetic), here's another chapter for you! The rain fell from the sky in large drops. A mighty wind nipped at my ears, making them numb. Squeezing my umbrella tighter, I made my way to the Quidditch stadium slowly.
This weather matched my spirits; Leanne was ignoring me, just as she had for the last few weeks. She and her Slytherin friends were laughing and smiling in the rain under a large green umbrella. Our eyes met for a moment, but she quickly looked away as if I weren’t there.
For once, I was happy for the rain; it hid my few silent tears that slipped down my cheeks. Calming myself down, I pressed on briskly until I found a wet seat to watch the Quidditch match.
“Can we sit here?” I heard a high, piping voice beside me. Glancing up, I saw Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, third years. I nodded, trying to smile.
“Terrible weather, isn’t it?” Hermione said lightheartedly. She craned her neck to see the Quidditch pitch, where the teams were staggering out. Cedric Diggory, the captain of the Hufflepuff team, and Oliver shook hands.
As the players mounted their brooms, I had a feeling of apprehension. Harry was light and small compared to Cedric; he looked like he could be blown away in this weather. For once, Hermione looked worried.
Five minutes passed with Gryffindor leading by fifty points. Harry looked extremely disorientated as he cut through the rain. Oliver finally called a time out over the downpour. Hermione whispered something to Ron and dashed away.
Squinting, I spotted her running across the field. She took Harry’s glasses, did something to them, and sprinted back to us.
“What did you do?” I asked loudly, trying to make myself heard once she plopped down beside me.
“I put a charm on his glasses so he could see well out of them,” she explained proudly.
What a smarty pants, I jokingly thought to myself. When I was a third year I didn’t do stuff like that. I wasn’t the academic sort at all.
My thoughts were interrupted by a yell. Some people were pointing frantically to Harry. My eyes focused to try to find him among the rain. Finally, I spotted him. He was barely holding onto his broom. I could see him struggling to get on in vain. An instant later, he fell abruptly downwards! Staring down to the field, I could see several dementors gathering on the side of the Quidditch pitch.
“Oh my gosh!” Hermione screamed. “What happened to Harry?” Her voice got higher and squeakier.
I sat there, gaping at what just happened. Everyone was talking quickly to each other. Suddenly, a cheer erupted from the other side of the stadium. Cedric had caught the snitch; Hufflepuff had won.
Groaning audibly, I leaned back in my chair. Harry had never lost a Quidditch game for us. It must have been those dementors watching the game. A feeling of dread overcame me.
Soon the crowds of students scattered into their different ways. I raced down towards the change rooms, where I waited outside. As the girls immerged, they barely looked at me; they were racing to the hospital wing to see Harry. Fred and George came out quickly.
“Fred! George! Do you know where Oliver is?” I asked quickly.
“He’s in the shower still,” George answered. “I think he’ll be in there for a while.” They dashed away, saying that they had to visit Harry.
I found myself taking the long way back to the school. Suddenly, a humungous gust of wind picked up my umbrella and carried it away. “Arrgh!” I growled. “Accio umbrella! Accio umbrella!” The wind was too strong. I could only watch as the red umbrella disappeared from view.
Glimpsing around tiredly, I spotted movement. I crept around the corner, peeking my head out. My mouth fell open, and I quickly withdrew my head, breathing hard.
