Anyways, here's the rest of the chapter It's short cause well, ya, the other parts are longer, this is way shorter basically... ok, way shorter! It's like, barely a page on MS Word put together...
I'll post chapter 10 in a few days, still gotta get past this part I'm stuck on in chapter 19... 0_o (added an hour later: Yay, I got past it! Part of my creative writing block wall thing was torn down and I got an idea, so ya... I'll post chapter 10 tomorrow most likely, that is unless I don't see a comment and I have to postpone posting my post. Wow, that's a tongue-twister, ain't it? )

Chapter 9
Draco's Detour (Part 3)

“Then no help.” Hermione started to turn back to her work again.
“You know as well as I about reputations. It’s within mine to be going after you, so I can’t just go away,” Draco responded pointedly.
“And it’s within my reputation to hex off people like you; you’re in the same hole as I am here.”
“Look Granger, it’s just the first two tasks I need help with, I remember the third clearly.”
“Apparently,” she spat.
“So it’s not even going to be the whole year...”
Hermione turned around to face him again, having to look up at his six foot figure looming over her chair.
“If I help you, would you quit bugging me right now?”
“Yes.”
“Fine, but there’s one condition.”
“What’s that?”
“Anytime I say to meet me anywhere I say, you have to be here then. Only excuse being detention, other than that, if you miss a time, I’m not helping you. Do you agree?”
“Yeah,” Draco responded, rolling his eyes.
“I’ll tell where and when we meet, and you better be there.”
“Where else are you talking about?” he asked.
“More quiet areas, where no one would think to check.”
“Places like...?”
“The Astronomy Tower will be most common. And don’t question me either.”
“Because you don’t want to be asked a question without knowing the answer?” he couldn’t help but crack. Hermione scowled.
“Are you busy tonight?” she asked.
“What time and where? Wait, I questioned you there...”
Hermione gave him a dirty look.
“Do you know how to get back to your common room without getting caught?”
“Obviously.”
“Good. Astronomy Tower at nine.”
“So late?”
“You said you’re available. Be there tonight or your free help will vanish. Now leave me alone, and I’ll see you later.” Hermione left him with a surprised, yet superior expression.
Before Draco could even respond, she had turned around and continued on homework. Draco walked away, completely stunned at what he had done and how Hermione actually accepted. The words of his mother’s favourite song he had heard constantly rang in his head.
Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...

Chapter 10
Harry’s Letter

Hermione stunned herself by agreeing to help Malfoy. Honestly, Draco Malfoy, who would expect a muggle-born Gryffindor to be helping the pure-blood Slytherin prat Draco Malfoy. She finished all her homework and went back to the Gryffindor common room. Running upstairs to her dormitory to drop her books inside, she saw Parvati, her room mate, opening the window to let an owl in. The owl looked strangely familiar...
“Who’s it for?” Hermione asked as she dropped onto her bed. Parvati looked at the cover of the envelope.
“You,” she said. She tossed the letter over to Hermione and she ripped it open.
Hermione,
I've really enjoyed your letters lately, couldn't get enough of them!
Well it’s not like I’d know how busy it is in 7th year, if it is at all yet. Since I have time, I thought I may as well hear how you're doing, considering you haven't done so yourself.
Anyways, I heard the Triwizard Tournament is back at Hogwarts, is it true? Why ever the ministry decided to start it back up again is out of my frame of thought.
Anyways, I’ve already located another ‘you-know-what’, Helga Hufflepuff’s goblet. Apparently it is one of the four left, soon to be three. I was just going to go out when I realized ‘I may as well remind Hermione about friends being outside the castle’.
So how has the year been so far? Have many students returned? Any new professors? Tell me everything.

P.S: If I destroy the goblet in time, I might just be able to visit Hogwarts before Christmas.
Hermione grinned and folded the letter.
“Who was it? If you don’t mind me asking...”
“Harry,” Hermione responded.
“Really? So why’s he not here this year?” Parvati questioned.
Hermione wasn’t sure if she should tell Parvati everything. “Finishing the work Dumbledore started for him.”
“What would that be?”
“Something I don’t think I can say.”
Parvati sniffed and walked out of the dormitory. Hermione folded the letter and put it in a drawer beside her bed and checked her watch. Noticing it was eight-fourty in the evening already, she sighed. She wanted to respond to Harry’s letter but didn’t have time.
The owl hooted. Looking at Harry’s snowy owl, Hedwig, Hermione chuckled.
“Sorry Hedwig, I can’t respond right this moment.” Hedwig nibbled her finger. “Can you wait a few hours? I’ll be back in about two hours or so.”
Hedwig bobbed her head in an understanding way and started searching the room; she had never been in the girls’ dormitories before, let alone Hermione’s. Grabbing a bottle of ink, a quill and parchment, Hermione rushed out of her room.
“Where’re you going?”
Hermione stopped, halfway through the Gryffindor common room. Turning around, she saw Ginny’s curious expression.
“Just going to find a quiet place to write,” Hermione responded, shrugging.
“Didn’t you finish your homework?” Ginny asked with an amused edge.
“Yeah, but who says I can’t write a letter?”
“Whom to?”
“Does it matter?” Hermione responded. Ginny looked at her suspiciously, but dropped the subject, walking away. She walked down the corridors and up some stairs. Managing to finally make it to the top of the Astronomy Tower, Hermione sat down and started writing, thankful the light still shone in the room.
Dear Harry,
It’s barely been three weeks and you’re complaining about no letters from me, eh? Well has Ron been sending letters? I wouldn’t know; I don’t really talk to him as much anymore, I just got him to submit his name into the Goblet.
So yes, obviously there is another Triwizard Tournament. But as Professor McGonagall put it, who’s now Headmistress if you didn’t know, the tournament now is more so a ‘test tournament’. Apparently the Ministry has put more security measures and wants to try the tournament out again. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students are here also, so it’s still a real tournament, just more securities.
That’s great to here about you finding the goblet though! Very quick, considering you left nearly a month ago now. I’m proud of you, can’t wait to here how that feat goes.
Not much has happened so far, since it has been nearly a month now. Obviously we do have yet another Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, her name is Professor Silvernagle, apparently worked with Moody for awhile, so she’s very talented, too bad she won’t be around after this year. Professor Kruliki (out of story, yeah couldn’t resist, since most of ya know Secret Love, same teacher, new Transfiguration teacher, same guy, yeah... ), he’s really strict and can be really mean, he’s like Snape when he has he doesn’t like me because I’m ‘a friend of Harry Potter’, well as they put it clearly enough. With students though, a fair amount didn’t come this year.
And oh Lord, Lavender came back! Thank goodness Ron has been staying out of her way. Parvati and Padma, who did come back after a big fight with her mother. Dean and Seamus did come back though. Ginny’s getting riled up because of that. Speaking of Ginny, I think she’s still in denial about how she feels. I just suggested she’s been acting a bit off since the funeral and she started screaming at me, saying how she can live without ‘having someone push her the bloody portrait hole’. Overall, a fair amount has happened and it has even been a month yet.
So how have you been lately? Staying at the Headquarters or are you too busy to stay there? Where’ve you gone? Tell all about what’s going on lately with you.

“Weaslette getting riled up? Doesn’t surprise me.”
Hermione jumped, nearly crumpling the letter she just wrote. Looking up, she saw Malfoy smirking down at her.
“You could say something when you come in a room!” she exclaimed as she folded the letter quickly. “And respect other people’s space, but I don’t expect you to know that.”
Malfoy smiled in mock innocence.
“Do I have to ask permission to sit down?”
Hermione looked at him contemptuously.
“Go ahead,” she responded, rolling her eyes as she scooted over, not wanting to get all that close to Malfoy.
“So what do you need help with specifically in the tournament?” she asked once a silence hovered between them.
“The first hint.”
“What it is?”
“Beast of the air, a flaming creature that lights the sky...”
“Is that it?” Hermione asked after a moment.
“What more do you expect, an essay?” Draco snapped.
Hermione started laughing.
“What?” Draco asked.
“It’s... so... obvious...” Hermione managed to get out through a fit of giggles.
“Then what is it?”
Hermione’s laughing slowly subsided. When she was fine, she started talking again.
“What is large, has scales, and breathes fire?” she asked him. “That’s basically what they’re saying... They fly, they have shining scales, they ‘light up the sky’ with their fire...”
“Dragons?”
“Exactly! They guard the egg that contains the clue for the 2nd task, you need it to continue on.”
“What’s the egg for?” Draco asked curiously. Hermione looked to be in thought for a moment.
“You know what, I’m not going to tell you yet. When you get the egg, I’ll tell you what to do with it. What really matters is how you’re going to get the egg...”
“Didn’t Potter fly?”
“Yes, he did,” Hermione responded through gritted teeth. Draco raised an eyebrow momentarily, and then blinked.

yay, meh siggy twas updated I think red and green work better with the fallen banner I'm usin right now, cause the other pwnful one is like, a sepia colour and ya... I debated with myself for 20 minutes over that and when I went to hit 'Preview Post' for the millionth time, I accidentally hit 'Submit Post' and that's how I decided

Ya, I'll update when I next see a comment other than my own... I've come to realize I enjoy playing with the chapter and possibilities than letting it actually work out the way I (and like, everyone else), wants it too You'll see what I mean... oh you'll see. And this IS GOING TO BE A LONG F.F, I can say that right now
Anyways ya, next post is when I see the next comment (If I see one in about... oh twelve hours cause that's when I'll be checking next, most likely then. If not, it'll be later tomorrow, cause it'll be about 7:00am my time next time I check most likely, if not it'd be another eightish hour wait until I check and POSSIBLY update depending on responses).

Chapter 11
Ginny’s Epiphany

“Boy, where’s Harry when you need him...?” Ron mumbled to himself as he paced in his dormitory at midnight.
“We can hear you, Ron!” Seamus said loudly from his bed, which Ron was pacing at the end of.
“Where’s help when you need it?” Ron rephrased, still pacing.
“We can still hear you Ron!” Dean added, who was talking with Seamus on his bed. Ron turned to them.
“Well you aren’t being a help, so why should I acknowledge you two?” he snapped.
“What d’ya need help with? Finding Roonil Wazlib’s book?” Dean asked. He and Seamus snickered. Ron glared, which made them stop after a moment.
“Really, what’s the matter?” Seamus asked.
“Roonil Wazlib,” Dean mumbled. Seamus snorted.
“Forget it, where’s... no, Neville won’t be a help...”
“Hey!”
Neville just walked through the dormitory door and heard Ron’s comment. Neville sat on his bed.
“What’s got robes up in a knot?” Neville asked.
“Hermione!” Ron exclaimed. The three guys raised an eyebrow and exchanged glances. “Ever since the train ride, I can’t stop thinking about her! She’s changed, mate...”

Hermione just barely managed to slip past Filtch when she got to the Fat Lady. She checked her watch and saw it was midnight.
“Kippers,” she told the Fat Lady. Groaning and grumbling, the Fat Lady awoke.
“What’re you doing out of bed?” she snapped.
“Kippers,” Hermione repeated.
“Sorry to inform you, but the password changed at midnight.”
“It is exactly midnight!”
There was a few moments of silence.
“Well it changed a minute ago. Anyways, the password isn’t kippers anymore,” the Fat Lady informed her (exactly) minute later.
“Ugh!” Hermione brought a fist back, ready to point on the wall beside the Fat Lady so someone could open then door.
“Don’t!” the Fat Lady exclaimed. She opened the door for Hermione before she brought down her fist.
Smiling, Hermione made her way through the portrait hole. She nearly had a close call with Malfoy before, she’d never been so close to him before (sitting-wise), and he had an odd look in his eyes, like he wanted something more. Of course, before he could try, Hermione checked her watch and said it was midnight and that they should go, since Draco’s common room was in the dungeons, and it would take a long while considering they were in the highest tower of Hogwarts, the tower Dumbledore had been murdered at for that matter.
“Where’ve you been?”
Hermione jumped and saw Ginny looking over the sofa by the fire.
“Around,” she responded simply as she passed through the common room.
“Meeting someone?
How the hell does she know these things? Hermione wondered.
“What makes you say that?” Hermione asked cautiously.
“I was in the library, Mione.”
Hermione bit her tongue to hold back the swear that nearly came out.
“I can’t believe you’re honestly helping the ferret!” Ginny snapped.
“I want Hogwarts to win this time, fairly. The only way I can do that is if I assist Malfoy, even if I truly don’t want to all that much. He asked me, if you weren’t listening to that part in the library.”
Ginny glared.
“Since when did you care so much about who won the Triwizard Tournament? You said yourself its all for ‘international cooperation’.”
“What makes you say that?”
“I heard Harry complaining about it here in the common room after the Yule Ball.”
“Have you gotten any letters from him lately?” Hermione asked curiously, attempting to change the subject slightly.
“No... why? Did you get one?”
“Yeah...”
“Why does he hate me? What did I do to him that made so mad he’s not mailing?! I sent him at least two letters and got no response, while you mail him nothing and he sends you a letter! He hates me!!” Ginny cried. Before Hermione could say he claims to be really busy, Ginny ran up the stairs leading to the girls’ dormitories, sobbing.
“What’d you do?”
Hermione scowled when she saw Ron looking down from the boys’ dormitories.
“She apparently hasn’t gotten any letters from Harry after sending him two, and I got a letter after not mailing him at all yet.”
“She’s crying over that?”
“Ronald!” Hermione snapped.
“Wha?”
Hermione glared at him, shook her head and went up the stairs leading to her dormitory, leaving Ron baffled.

So Ron is starting to feel something for Hermione...He and Draco are gonna have to fight for her PAMSOID!!!

I gues you'll have to find out what happens with Ron and Draco... I'm actually worked on a part with them and am gonna have another few
gah, i just got my new glasses and after taking them off it's like I can still see the form of the lenses in front of me (they're metal on top only, with lenses duh, but no metal underneath, so they're fragile but lighter), and I when I keep looking up or down and my eyes are down, it's like there's an outline. It's frickin annoying! (least I don't need to wear them all the time Mainly reading... never thought it'd be possible to get a sharper image of words b4 puting the glasses on, let alone around the world but apparently it's normal to become used to it but when you put 'em on you get a sharper image )

Anyways, ya, I'll post tomorrow most likely, if I feel like it maybe later today...

(don't feel like moving this to the top of my post, to lazy... And ya, to lazy to look up the eat slugs thingy so ya, may as well take it out since it don't work when I try)

and I'm still stuck on that one *lol* On chapter 8 and like, ya... one chapter is super long tho (chapter 7, finshed recently actualy, my favourite really).

But anyways, ya, I'm gonna post the next chapter now, I managed to YET AGAIN get myself stuck so I thought I could post and that way I can work on meh problem on chapter 26 (yes, it is gonna be a long story)

this is like, my shortest chapter next to like, chapter 6 or sumthin. If I get a comment today, I'll post the next chapter, cause I love it so much! The next chapter (after this one), is the First Task! (just so you all know ).

Chapter 12
Hermione’s Watcher

“Your classes have been cancelled due to the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament taking place!” Professor McGonagall announced at breakfast. The Great Hall echoed in cheers, every student rooting for their school’s champion. Hermione sighed slightly, but couldn’t wait to see how Malfoy would manage to do.
What the heck was she thinking? Why did she care how Malfoy did?
Going back to her breakfast, Hermione felt like someone was watching her. Shivering at the feeling, she looked up and around the Great Hall, but saw no one looking at her. She went back to her eggs and sausages, but had the feeling again. She snapped her head up again, but didn’t see anyone. Going back to her food, she got the feeling again.
“Parvati?” Hermione whispered to her friend beside her.
“Yeah?” she asked.
“Look up and across the Great Hall. Is anyone looking at me?” Hermione asked, staring down at her plate and eating. When Hermione saw a surprised expression on Parvati’s face, she just had to look up.
“What?” Hermione asked. She saw a head go down out of the corner of her eye, but she didn’t see who it was.
“Ma... Ma... Malfoy,” Parvati sputtered.
“What?” Hermione whispered in an exclaiming way (yes, it’s contradictory but she didn’t want to draw attention yet she couldn’t keep the surprise out of her voice).
“He was watching you, not eating anything himself, he was just... watching.”
Hermione was stunned. She ate more alertly now for the next few minutes
“Would all students please file out of the Hall and out to the stadium the Ministry has set up!” Professor McGonagall announced after she seemed to notice students were finished.
Chatting eagerly, first to seventh years started milling out of the Hall.
“Champions stay behind!” McGonagall added. Hermione walked out with Parvati, since Ginny was mad that Hermione was helping Malfoy and wasn’t speaking with her.

I just wrote the cutest poem (and it's actually my best poem) for chapter 26 Can't wait to get to it... -loves poem a lot-
-never been to anxious to post before- I love the next chapter! The first task is a heck of a lot better than the 2nd task I think... Can't wait to get to it!

Chapter 13
The First Task

Draco stopped where he was and turned around. He followed the Durmstrang champion and went up to the staff table where the Beauxbatons champion, Avril, stood. Professor McGonagall and the Head of the International Games Department explained the rules of the task, and once finished, they went around the coliseum and into a tent. They changed and waited for the Head of the International Game Department, Clyde Lagerstorm.
“Is everyone ready?” Mr. Lagerstorm asked as he came into the champion’s tent. Draco, Durmstrang Champion Nate and Avril shrugged and grouped around the Head. He held a hat.
“Inside this hat is a miniature version of the dragons you will fight; the Welsh Green, the Swedish Snort-Snout, and the Hungarian Horntail.”
It started to come back to Draco, how Potter had summoned his broom and fought the Hungarian Horntail by disappearing from the coliseum for a long while and suddenly zooming back and getting the egg.
“Ladies first,” Mr. Lagerstorm said as he held the hat out to Avril. She carefully stuck her hand inside, winced momentarily, and then pulled out a small, yellow dragon; the Swedish Short-Snout.
Mr. Lagerstorm held the hat out to Nate, who pulled out a green dragon.
“It looks like you are left with the Hungarian Horntail,” Clyde concluded. “Now, we have put the Welsh Green outside first, so Beauxbatons goes first.
Draco and Nate sat on the chairs in the tent, listening to the battle raging on outside. Cheering erupted after a long while, indicating Avril had finished.
“Nate Olivarez!”
The Durmstrang champion left Draco alone in the tent. During which time, he thought about what he was going to do on his try, how he would get the egg. He figured he could try summoning the egg itself first, and if that fails, do what Potter did and summon a broom, out-fly the dragon and get the egg.
“Draco Malfoy!”
Sighing, Draco got up. He rubbed his eyes and then walked out into the rocky core of the coliseum. It was bare, nothing but hard ground underneath his feet. Looking across the field, he saw the egg, but no dragon. He tip-toed down the crags of the coliseum centre, closer to the egg. With his attention on the egg, he didn’t see nor hear anything.
A piercing roar reached Draco’s ears and he was nearly set on fire. Diving behind a rock just in time, he had nearly been killed by the Hungarian Horntail.

Hermione got a good view Malfoy diving behind the rock. She jumped, which surprised her. She thought she’d be laughing by now, because the way he dived was rather amusing, but instead of laughing, she was... worried.
She saw Malfoy pull out his wand, and the egg started moving. The Hungarian Horntail grabbed the egg and roared. It looked around the coliseum hungrily for its opponent, the one trying to steal its egg. Hermione’s eyes were glued on Malfoy as he mumbled something. He jumped out from behind the rock and went behind another, narrowly missing the tail of the Hungarian Horntail swinging at him.
There was a whizzing sound. Hermione couldn’t believe it, Malfoy was actually doing the exact same thing Harry had, trying to summon the egg, and when that didn’t work, summon a broomstick and fly. Of course, he did just that.
Malfoy jumped onto the Firebolt he had summoned and flew around the dragon, barely missing its claws, teeth and tail. He did a series of complicated moves that confused the audience as much as the dragon, and managed to dive under the Horntail while in its confused state.
The Horntail looked around for Malfoy’s blonde head, but little did it know Malfoy was trying to avoid its feet underneath as he tried reaching for the egg. Hermione was scared he would be crushed.
Wait, why am I scared about Malfoy’s wellbeing? Hermione realized.
She saw it coming. As Malfoy recoiled his hand to avoid the Hungarian Horntail’s foot, he got dragged down and landed roughly on the rock, left arm bent awkwardly under him. He didn’t move for several minutes, and neither did the dragon.
To the crowd’s amazement, he started to crawl and managed grab the egg.

That was a great post! short. But Great!! Hermione should had stayed behind and wished Draco good luck or something!! But anywhos... PAMS!!!

WOW! That is really weird! I went to reply to "Hermione's watcher" and then when I came back, "The First Task" was already up! That's weird! But anywho, great Post!!! Poor Draco got hurt *crying for Draco* but PAMS!!!!!

Gonna post like, I dunno, tomorrow maybe, I'm not doing ANYTHING tomorrow or the day after.
Monday I got a dermatologist appointment in a town like, 1-2hrs away (been waiting six months man!), and then I gotta ride the horse I"m leasing, so I MIGHT NOT post on Monday... kinda far ahead to say, but most likely not... possibly yes, you never know
