Dreaming of You - Sa13+ Oh...my...GOSH! It's Katie again! Yes, I'm come out of the restricted section to write a little D/Hr in everybody's comfort zone! OK, this one takes place after school. Hermione's living with Ginny in a flat above Ginny's store, called Magic and More. Hermione, after weeks of trying to forget her boyfriend, Draco, tries to get back on her feet and set out for a career. And that's where the story begins! Hope y'all enjoy it! "OK Gin, I'm leaving!" Hermione called back to the firey red-head. "Good luck with your interview!" Ginny called after her. "When are you coming back?" "I'm not sure. You want me to pick up dinner?" "Sure. Go for chinese!" Hermione groaned. "Third time this WEEK, Ginny! Can't we-" "NO!" Ginny called cheerfully back, and Hermione rolled her eyes. She left through the little door above the fire escape, and went down the stairs that led down the side of the building. Hermione casually walked though the streets of Borei, the quaint little wizarding village outside of Toreno, Italy. Few people knew about its existence, which is why Hermione loved it. Quiet, peaceful, out-of-the-way... it was everything she wanted. Especially after the messy break-up with Draco. Hermione sighed. Draco had wanted to stay together, but Hermione knew it wouldn't be good for them. Ginny didn't like Draco at all, and they would be living together. So Hermione did what was best for everyone except her and Draco: they separated. Hermione walked up the cafe steps and stepped into the cool little shop. A plump little woman came bustling out, wiping a mug. "Come in, come in! You must be Nancy!" "Erm... Hermione, ma'am." Where do you get Nancy from Hermione? "Oh yes... Nancy's the name of the girl who left... never mind that, sit down, sit down! That's what chairs are for!" Hermione sat down nervously. She sat down in front of her, and set down the glass. "Now, how long do you plan on working here?" "As long as I can. I haven't settled on a career yet." Hermione began. "Ah... a career woman. So you're a student?" "Was. Graduated last summer." "How coincidental! So is the nice young man I hired recently! Come on out and meet our new employee!" "I got the job?" Hermione asked in disbelief. The woman nodded. "Yes dear... oh, I'm Mrs. Larken. Oh, there you are dearie!" Hermione gasped when Draco Malfoy came into the room, an apron around his waist and a broom in his hand! Ta-da! Hope this get's put up! Katie |

Chapter 2 Hermione gaped at Draco in the apron. Draco, in turn, looked amazed and stunned at Mrs. Larkens choice of employee. Mrs. Larken, oblivious to the tension, giggled and got up. "Hermione dear, be here early tomorrow morning. We open at ten, so be here at nine, ok?" "Y-yes ma'am. Goog-bye Mrs. Larken." Hermione stumbled over her words, and raced out the door, her heart pounding. Mrs. Larken looked at Draco. "Alright Draco dear....who is she?" "She's my ex-girlfriend. I never thought I'd see her here." Draco sopke softly. "Never...." "Draco, would you like to go and talk to her?" Mrs. Larken asked. Draco nodded, then shook his head. "No. I don't think-" "Draco, go make nice. Take the rest of the day off. I'll finish here. It's near closing time anyway." Mrs. Larken took the broom from him. Draco took the apron off and hung it on the wall. "Have a good time dear." "Thanks Mrs. Larken." Draco rushed off after Hermione. ***** Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and seeing Draco would have been just a dream... Hermione brushed tears out of her eyes as she reached the shop. Ginny was bustling everywhere, happy as a clam. "Hermione! Wait!" Hermione turned and saw Draco running towards her. "Draco...go away."Hermione said to the ground. Draco panted. "Hermione....can we just talk?" Hermione shook her head. "Why not?" Hermione tried to walk away, but Draco had her pinned to the wall. "Let me go!" Hermione tried to duck past him. "Only if you have dinner with me." Draco remained firm. Hermione sighed. "Well, it looks like I don't have a choice now, do I?" Draco shook his head. "Then fine. Draco Malfoy, you may take me to dinner." Draco tried to do a backflip and fell on his head. Hermione supressed a giggle. Draco watched her choke it down and laughed. "Sorry Hermione...I know you think I'm funny." Draco tried to coax another one out of her, but Hermione was firm. She left Draco and went into the shop. ***** Ginny watched her happy customers leave with a satisfied expression on her face. She watched Hermione come in. "So? Did you get the job?" Hermione assured her that she did. "Oh great! Next month's electricity bill is yours!" Hermione smiled. "Not at the rate you're using electricity!" Ginny grinned. "Fine! Be that way!" "Maybe I will!" Hermione laughed and climbed the stairs. She had some time before her dinner with Draco. She suddenly remembered she didn't have a time! Just then, a tiny owl zoomed into the room. It landed on Hermione's head, dropped it's letter, then flew off. Hermione opened it slowly. Hermione, I know you don't want Ginny to see us. Meet me at the center of the town square at 6:30 tonight. Don't bring any money. I'm buying. Draco "He's mad if he thinks that I'm going to let him spend all his money!" Hermione grumbled to heraelf, then began to pick out outfits for that evening. Katie |

Hey there Katie! I wanted you to hear the song Dreaming of You by Selena. She sang the song but since she died at a young age she never got to make a video for it. The video was put together as a rememberance for her later on after her death... but she sings the song...here is the link... YouTube - Selena -Dreaming of you I love the song. Chapter 3 Ginny came up the stairs, tired after a long day in the shop. She opened Hermione's door and narrowly avoided a sock. "Hermione, what-" "No time! Gotta look nice!" Hermione was running frantically around her room, looking for a shirt. "Quick Gin, help me! I can't find my blue satin shirt!" Hermione tossed more clothes out of the closet. "Hermione..." "Ginny, stop talking and help me! Gaa! I need more mascera!" Hermione had taken a look in the mirror. "Hermione...." Ginny tried again. "Ginny! Stop dawdling and help me find my purse! The blue sparkly one! I NEED IT!" Hermione was in full panic mode. "[I]YOU'RE SHIRT IS ON YOUR BODY!" Ginny yelled at Hermione. Hermione paused. "Oh." "And your purse is hanging on the chair." Ginny picked it up and handed it to Hermione. "Now...where are you going?" "Umm....nowhere." Hermione flopped down on the bed, and tried to look bored. "No where at all." She jumped up and looked out the window. "No where, huh?" Ginny raised her eyebrow. "Ok Hermione, spill." "Well...Draco was in town, and..." Hermione couldn't finish. The death stare was glaring out of Ginny's eyes. "Draco Malfoy? I can't believe he's taking you somewhere. Why are you doing this to yourself?" Ginny drew in a breath. Hermione took it as the beginning of a very Mrs. Weasley-ish rant about what was good for you. "Ginny...I think I hear Draco coming!" Hermione raced out the door, tossing on some blue high-heeled sandels. Ginny let the breath out, disappointed. She was looking foward to it. ***** Draco must have changed his shirt ten times. He paced around his bedroom. His girlfriend, Pansy Parkinson, glared at him. "Draco baby...why aren't you talking to me? You always talk to me!" "Pansy...I have to leave soon." Draco regretted he ever got back together with her. "You're going on a date, aren't you?" Pansy accused. "You're cheating on me, aren't you!" Draco whirled around, fists clenched. "Yes, you nasty old b*tch! I'm cheating on you with the most beautiful girl in the entire village, perhaps even the world!" Draco yelled at her. Pansy cowered on the bed in fear. "But baby...you told me I was the most beautiful-" "Whoever told you that was blind!" Draco slammed the door shut and stomped out of the apartment, Pansy's wails echoing through his ears. Chapter 4 Draco led the way through the little italian street until they came to a small resturant. Draco held the door open for Hermione, and he seemed a little troubled. Hermione noticed, but didn't breach the subject until the wine had been served. "Cameriere!" Draco called, and a waiter appeared at their table. "Buona sera Signorina...Signore. May I serve you something from the sbarra?" "Oh, no, nothing from the bar, thanks. Unless Hermione, do you want anything?" Draco asked. "No, that's alright. I'll just go straight to dinner, if you don't mind." Hermione requested. The waiter bowed. "Va bene. I'll be back soon. Gratzie." The waiter left. Hermione sighed. "I love Italy. Their so.....quaint. I wish I was Italian, instead of English." "Wanna learn Italian?" Draco asked. Hermione nodded eagerly. "Ok, repeat after me. Gratzie." Hermione repeated it. "What does that mean?" "It means thank you. Now, I say Prego. That means your welcome." Hermione smiled. "This is fun. Do you know any more?" "Any more? Watch!" Draco summoned a waiter. "Me scusa, ma possiamo avere del più vino, per favore?" "Si, Signore. Uno momento, per favore." The waiter walked away. Hermione looked at Draco questioningly. The waiter came back with another bottle of red wine. "You're wine, sir." "Thank you." Draco poured Hermione another glass. "Would you like to order?" The waiter pulled out a writing pad. Draco nodded, looked at the menu once more, then closed it. "I shall have La bistecca con la salsa, l'insalata, e ha pestato le patate. Oh, e posso avere un lato speciale di granoturco arrostito per favore?" "Very good sir. It shall be here in 15 minutes. And you, madame?" The waiter stood, poised, waiting for Hermione. She looked at the menu nervously. "Um...what do I say when I want chicken?" "Chicken with what Hermione?" Draco asked. "Um...chicken with peas, gravy, and mashed potatoes. Oh, can I get a chicken caesar salad with that?" Draco turned to the waiter. "Avrà il pollo con i piselli, la salsa, e ha pestato le patate. Ed amerebbe un'insalata di cesare, bene?" The waiter nodded and whisked himself away. Hermione stared in wonder at Draco. "I wish I knew how to do that." ***** Draco never thought he had such a wonderful time. He showed Hermione the Italian language, the food was terrific, and she was beautiful. Thoughts of Pansy drifted farther and farther from his mind. He paid the bill and gave their waiter a rather handsome tip. Hermione smirked at the bills. "I see you're still flaunting your money around." "Yea well...there's no place I can hide it, so why not spend it? At least, as long as I have a certain lady friend that needs tending too. Hermione, why don't you have a boyfriend?" "Well....I just moved here with Ginny. She had been living here for awhile, and when Ron and I....fell apart, she was here to help me get back on my feet." "I see...." Draco put his arm around her and walked her home. Hermione was glad for his arms weight around her shoulders. It made her feel....more secure. "Yea....but now that I have a job, I'm willing to support myself, and not rely on Gin so much. I'm even starting to help pay the bills!" Hermione said proudly. "Va bene!" Draco said, and kissed her on the nose. Hermione looked suprised, then laughed. "What does that mean?" She asked, giggling. "It means it goes well. I can teach you more, if you like." Draco offered. Hermione smiled. "Why go through all that trouble to teach a bumbling beginner like me?" "First...so I can spend more time with you, I'm not gonna lie. Second...well, it seems rather silly to live in Italy and speak not one word of their language, doesn't it?" "I suppose it does." They had reached Hermione and Ginny's door. Draco kissed her hand. "Buona Sera, mi amore." Draco said. Hermione gave a puzzled glance. "Um....Gratzie?" "Good! You're picking it up already!" Draco laughed. "See you tomorrow at work!" "Bye!" Hermione called, then sighed. This had been a most memorable evening. Katie |
