Hermione rushed into Transfiguration, and sat next to Harry and Ron at the front of the class.

"Miss Granger, why were you late?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"Sorry, professor, I forgot my books and quill." Hermione lied.

"Very well. Don't let it happen again. You'll see detention." she smiled warmly at Hermione.

"Yes ma'am." Hermione whispered.

"How is it that you can get out of things by saying that and I can't?" Neville asked, who was sitting across from the trio.

Lunch came rolling by slowly for Cedric. During Divination, the strong perfumed room of Professor Trelawney's made Cedric's friend Pete pass out.Michael took him to the Hospital Wing, though Cedric was worried about his friend.

He rushed to the Great Hall, hoping to catch Hermione waiting for him.

He scoured the Hall for her, she was nowhere in sight.

"Are you looking for Hermione?" Neville asked.

Cedric nodded.

"You just missed her." he said.

"Where is she?" Ced asked.

"The Hospital Wing. She choked on her food when Ron said something disgusting out loud in Lavendar's ear. Harry gave her a bit of water to wahs it down and she just keeled over unconscious. Tried everything to wake her up. Someone must've put something into her drink."

Cedric took off in the direction of the Hospital, Cho looked on, with a triumphant look on her face.

"What did you do Cho?" Marietta asked.

"You know when I went up to Harry to talk to him?" Mariette nodded. "I Slipped Dragon Blood and Sleeping Draught in her goblet."

Both girls giggled.

Cho's so evil, but good plan. She's not really getting Ced back though is she..?? PAMS!!

Chapter 15: She may not wake.

"What happened?" Cedric asked Harry when he walked in.

"Someone slipped her a large dose of Dragon Blood and Sleeping Draught." Harry said.

"How do you know?" Cedric asked again, sitting next to Hermione and holding her hand.

"Pomfrey said there's a 30 % chance she'll pull through." Harry said, looking at Hermione with sad eyes.

"What about the remaining 70 %?" Cedric asked, already fearing the answer.

"She'll wake up a couple of seconds, give a long, terrible, blood-curling scream then die." Pomfrey said as she came from checking a second teay student who accidemtally squirted Bubotuber pus in his eye.

Cedric and Harry paled.

"Why Hermione?" Cedric whispered.

'Ced.' Hermione said in his mind.

'Hermione. Please don't die. I love you.' Cedric pleaded to her.

'Pomfrey can be a bit dense sometimes. Anyone knows that if you swallow Dragon Blood and Sleeping Draught together, you need a simple Energy replenish potion.' Hermione told him in a matter-of-factly voice.

'You only do that for a small amount. You had a large amount.' Cedric said.

'You don't die from it though.' she told him, knowing full well she was lying.

'You do. She told us.'

"How long do we have to wait for her?" Harry asked.

"A week. If she wakes and she's ok, she'll cough something terrible a lot. If she's in her dying moment, she'll scream." Pomfrey said.

'I'm sorry Cedric.' Hermione said.

'What for?" Cedric asked.

'I came between you and Cho.' she said.

'No you didn't. If anything you stopped me making the biggest mistake of my life.' He told her.

hey guys I've just finished writing up the last chapter (chapter 18) then there's gonna be a sequel. Things aren't looking up for Hermione though. I'll post the next chapter soon.

Chapter 16: Waiting.

That night, Cedric couldn't be moved from Hermione'ss side.

Pomfrey called Professor Dumbledore into the Hospital Wing.

"Albus, I have tried to move this boy but he won't go."

Albus looked upon Cedric and Hermione. He could tell they loved each other and Cedric wasn't going to move until she had awoken and he knew she was ok.

"Could you please move him professor? I have to give Miss Granger a potion to help her survive! And it's past curfew." The matron said. My head will be FULL of grey hairs at this rate with the stress and all the students to care for! she thought.

"Let him stay." he said firmly. "It's obvious he won't leave Miss Granger's side until she is well. Not even for lunch."

The nurse looked as tough she had been slapped by a Pixie. She glowered at Cedric and took a vial of Energy replenish from her potion medication cupboard and advanced to Hermione.

"Excuse me Mr Diggory. I need to give Miss Granger this poton to help stop her dying. Could you please move a little." she said.

Cedric didn't move.

"Now, please, Mr Diggory." she said again sternly.

"Bite me. You can give her the potion while I'm here." Cedric sneered.

Madame Pomfrey grew red in anger.

"I've had enought of your attiude, Diggory. As of tomorrow NO-ONE may visit Miss Granger whilst she is in here!" she yelled.

"That's not fair!" he shouted, standing up. He was a little bit taller than she was. He felt like hitting the older Matron, but decided for his better judgement and turned and hit a stone pillar near Hermione's bed.

The sudden impact caused his hand to break.

"I don't hit any of the female kind no matter how much i feel like it or hate them." he winced as Pomfrey cleaned and bandaged his hand.

"I've got no more skele-gro left so it'll have to heal naturally." she said once she had done. "You made the right chioce in hitting that pillar but a foolish choice too. You're a good man, Diggory. Keep your right hand out of physical distance for a week."

"That's my writing hand though."

"Well, you'll have to stay here, because knowing your temper you're going to hit another pillar or a wall." she told him.

"That's a bit daft. I could just work with my head of House." Cedric said, though instantly regretting what he had said and hoped Pomfrey would say no.

"Diggory, you're staying. No ifs. No buts" Pomfrey said, and forced Cedric to lie on the bed to Hermione's left.

He lay back into the paper-white sheets of the hospital bed as the nurse fussed over he and Hermione.

She ran spells on him, seeing a slight change in his health and put protection charms on him to stop him getting ill from whatever it was that was in him.

The week seemed to go on for ever. Cedric & Hermione still stuck in the Hospital Wing.

Harry and Ron came to see them in their spare time.

"Nurse, can I go yet?" Cedric asked.

"No. We'll wait till Miss Granger wakes up. IF she does." Pomfrey told him.

He looked over to Hermione. He reached over and took her small hand in his slightly bigger one.
