Chapter 8: Back at Hogwarts with changes.

Hermione awoke at the Burrow early on September 1st. Looking over to her left, she saw through the darkened room she saw Ginny asleep. Sitting up in bed, she looked at her watch. She pressed a button to make the screen light up.

“7:30 a.m. Hm. I think I have enough time for a shower before breakfast.” She muttered and lifted herself from her bed, and walked out the room. She heard fitful breathing coming from Ron’s room as she walked past to the bathroom. Slowly opening the door, she saw the darkened figure of Harry thrashing around in his bed.

Rushing to his side, she shook him awake, worriedly.

“Harry!” she called in his ear.

He awoke abruptly, drenched in sweat and his scar burning as though someone had pressed a white-hot wire to it and left it there. Holding on to Hermione, he whispered, “I-it w-was just a bad dream, right? Voldemort or Wormtail aren’t outside are they?”

“No Harry, it’s ok. No-one’s here that shouldn’t be. Tell me, what was the nightmare about?” she asked.


“Voldemort and Wormtail were here … They killed Ron, Fred George & Mr Weasley, and left me to watch you, Ginny and Mrs Weasley to be tortured. They killed Ginny and her mother in some dark room, tortured you until you were almost dead, the killed you…” Harry said, trembling and with tears in his eyes.

Hermione hugged him. “How badly is your scar hurting?”

“Really bad.” He whispered, rubbing it.


She moved his hand and gently pressed her lips to it. “Is that better?” she asked.

“Yeah.” He said.


“Listen, maybe Dumbledore should know about this. And Sirius will want to know too. Try and get in contact with them both. I don’t want to seem like I don’t give a stuff right now, but I haven’t showered in two days and Ron spends half the morning in the bathroom.” She grinned.

Grinning back, he hugged her. He watched her leave the room for the bathroom and fell back to sleep.

Later that morning, Mrs Weasley stormed into Ron’s room, threw open the curtains to let the blinding sunshine through and shook both boys out of their sleep.



“Mum, it’s 6 in the morning. Lemme sleep.” Ron grumbled and within seconds he was back snoring his head off.



After several attempts to wake Ron up, Mrs Weasley turned to Harry. “Harry dear, make sure you have everything you need and when you’re done, get Ginny in here, She’ll get him awake.” She said. Harry nodded as she walked out the room.



After 5 minutes of being awake and searching for things he may have left, finding nothing left over, he changed into a pair of baggy, deep blue jeans and a three sizes too big orange t-shirt.



Leaving the room, he walked to Ginny’s room. There, she was brushing her hair into plaited pigtails, with her pink bath robe falling from her snow-white shoulders.



Knocking on the door, he walked in and sat on the bed Hermione had been sleeping in.



“Hi Harry,” Ginny said, looking at him and then turning back to the mirror.



Not looking at her, he said, “Your mum told me to get you to wake Ron up if he didn’t get up so …”



A further 5 minutes later, Ginny sat on the bed and tapped Harry on the shoulder. “You can look now.” She said, grinning.
