Hey guys, sorry this took so long but I was having a bit of writer's block. Hello new readers! I hope you are all still with me. This is a bit of a slow chapter but I thought it was sweet so I kept it. Hope you all enjoy!

Two weeks after the birth:
“Harry! COME ON!” Ginny said impatiently from the front door of their home.

“Gin, it will be just one more minute. I have to send this owl to the ministry or they’ll have my job.”

“Harry James Potter! I am leaving in two minutes for our niece’s welcome home party. If you are not with me I am running off with the paperboy!” Ginny shouted at her husband.

“bloody hormones…” Harry murmured to himself as he finished off his letter and attached it to his owl.

“Take this to the minister of magic please.” he said as he fed the owl a treat and sent her out the window.

Straightening his tie as he walked down the front hall chuckling to himself lightly. “Why Mrs. Potter! You look absolutely delicious this afternoon. The paper boy would find you hard to resist, but you wouldn’t really break my heart like that would you?” He said with a crooked smile.

“Oh Harry, you’re lucky I love you.” Ginny said as she tried to tidy Harry’s messy black hair. “You are hopeless Potter. Good thing our God-daughter has no idea how proper hair on a man should look.” Giving Harry a small kiss on the cheek she smiled. “Can we please leave now?”

“Of course my love, I was just waiting for you.” He said grabbing her hand and apparating the two of them before she could protest or smack him for what he said.

They had only been home for one day and Ron already felt like he had always been a father. Setting a plate of finger sandwiches on the coffee table Ron looked at Hermione dozing with Minnerva on her chest, slowly rocking in the chair. He sat across from them and just stared. It was the most beautiful thing in the world to him. His wife and daughter had almost been lost to him, and there they were sitting in front of him with the afternoon sun glinting off of their porcelain skin. A single tear slid down Ron’s cheek as he got up to finish getting ready for the party.

A gentle knock on the back door got Ron’s attention. Abandoning the punch bowl he opened the door to find his mother carrying a huge platter of food.
“Don’t just stand there gawking boy! Take the platter before I drop it!”
“Mum! We’ve got food.” He said a bit taken aback that Molly thought they were so ill prepared.
“I know Ronald, but this is to be frozen. Trust me, neither you nor Hermione will be up for cooking for at least a few weeks! Now where is my granddaughter?” Molly asked loudly pushing past Ron.
“Mum! They are sleeping! Let them rest!” Ron whispered angrily at his mother.

“It’s alright Ron, I’m awake.” Hermione said rubbing her eyes sleepily. “Hello Molly. Minnie is in her crib upstairs.” She said giving her mother-in-law a hug.

“You sit down right now young lady! Giving birth so early is not easy on the body!” Molly said fussing briefly over Hermione before running up to cover her new granddaughter in kisses.

Ron sat down next to his wife and looked at her lovingly. “Have I told you how much I love you Mione?”
Hermione just smiled and nodded.
“Good, because when I thought I might lose you… I thought my world was going to end. If it weren’t for Harry…” Just then Harry and Ginny came in through the front door .
“talking about me again mate?” Harry said with a crooked grin.
“Yes, just telling Mione I think you’re a bloody Prat.” Ron said laughing. Turning to his sister he said, “So Oven, how’s the bun?”
Ginny gave Ron a look that could melt a boulder.
“Bloody hormones…” Ron whispered as he led Harry out of the kitchen by the elbow.

After much food was eaten, and the bottles of fire whiskey were nearly empty the entire Weasley family sat in the living room looking upon the newest member of their clan.
“She’s so tiny…” Whispered Fred’s wife.
“Well she was very early.” Hermione responded indignantly.
“I don’t think she meant it as an insult love.” Ron chuckled.
Picking Minnerva up from her Bassinet Ginny smiled at her new niece. Looking at Harry she said, “It’s time.”

Harry came up next to her and spoke softly to the baby, but loud enough for the family to hear.

“Minnerva Molly Weasley, today is the first proper day you have spent in your home. It is only proper for you to be surrounded by the ones who love you most in this world. I am your uncle by marriage, but your god father by choice, and by fate. You are this family’s newest blessing and I promise to care for and love you as you were my own.” Taking Minnerva from Ginny’s arms he kissed the baby lightly on the forehead.

Ginny looked upon her niece with tears glistening in her eyes. “Minnie, my little love, I am so glad you made it to us. You are such a blessing . You’re going to have a difficult life growing up with that one as your father, so always know that you have a place to run.” Pulling out her wand Ginny waved it once over the baby’s head showering silver glitter over Minnie’s face. “ You will always be surrounded by magic in this family, but more importantly you’ll be showered with love. I am proud to be your god mother and so happy you will be there to show your future cousins their way through life. I love you Minnie Weasley, and I pledge that I will be there for your always.” Ginny said lightly kissing the baby’s cheek.

Minnerva slept soundly that night surrounded by the sound of her family talking and laughing late into the night.

HA! "So Oven, how’s the bun"? I was totally expecting "Is it soup yet?" That was really sweet and I loved the impromptu baby blessing. They will be cleaning glitter off of her for years. Keep up the good work, G.

“Yes, I know I need to rest! But I also need to work!” Harry was pacing the living room angrily. He and Ginny were arguing again.
“Potter sit down, you’re making me ill.” Ginny said quietly. She knew she was going to lose this argument, but she wasn’t going out without a fight.

Harry waved his wand and said “Accio chair” just to prove to his wife that he had gotten control over his wand again. Turning to Ginny he sighed. “Gin, I know you’re worried, but I have to be able to provide for our family.”
“Harry, you haven’t even gone through what your parents left you let alone what you make for endorsing Fred and George’s broom wax! Plus we have my wages! We are never going to starve.” standing up she walked behind Harry’s seat where he crossed his arms pouting. She stroked his hair gently. “I just want to make sure you’re here to see our baby grow up. I was so scared when I almost lost you. I can’t go through that again.” Ginny’s eyes welled up but she fought it.
Standing up Harry wrapped his arms around his wife. “Gin, I will be fine, Ron has been working and he was hurt badly as well. I’m fairly sure I’ll be behind a desk most of the time for the first few weeks. Please don’t worry love. This is what I do. What I have done since I was just a child. Don’t you want Ron and I to find whoever cursed me in the first place?”
Ginny looked up at her husband and nodded. Loving someone so completely was hard.

Ron was sitting at his desk looking over a file when Harry walked into their shared office the next morning.
“You’re here mighty early mate? Did you need to escape the wife and baby already?” Harry said dropping his sack lunch on the desk and walking over to the window.
Ron chuckled softly, “Are you kidding? Mione basically threw me out this morning. Told me to stop hogging the baby. It’s not fair, she got to grow her inside her belly and then complains when I want to kiss and snuggle my own daughter!”
Harry choked on his coffee. “Snuggle? What a big bad Auror you’ve become!” he said laughing.
“Oh sod off Harry.”
Walking to his own desk Harry took a seat. “So where are we with finding those dark wizards that cursed me?” Ron tossed Harry the file. “ You can see we’re a lot closer. One of their own is a turn coat. Looks as though they haven’t been getting their fair cut so they are reporting to us now. You see the name?”
Harry skimmed over the file until he saw a familiar name. “Gregory Goyle?! Bloody Hell! We can’t count on him to tie his own shoes let alone give us a good tip.”
“I think you’re wrong mate. They are supposed to be meeting up today so they can discuss their next attempt at taking out the minister of magic.” Ron said as he walked over to the coffee machine to pour himself another cup. “Guess who’s going to be there to catch them before they can even discuss their plan?” Ron said with a gleam in his eye. He was eager to get back into the action with his best friend.

Harry looked up at that. “Wait, what? I thought we were on desk duty for the next few weeks?” He said alarmed.
“Looks like they are moving sooner rather than later on this mate, The minister want’s his best man on the job.” Ron said with a shrug as he stuffed half of a pumpkin pasty in his mouth.

“Oh hell your sister is going to kill me.” Harry said putting his head in his hands.

Hermione was rocking the baby gently listening to the scratching of Ginny’s quill on her parchment.
“What else do you want to include in your lesson plan Hermione?”
“Oh just put a note for Madame Maxime to tell the class I’ll be returning in two weeks and that they had all better be ready for an exam on everything they have learned in the past three months.” Hermione said smiling as she placed Minnerva in her bassinet finally asleep.

“I’m so glad you weren’t my charms teacher!” Ginny said as she added the last note to Hermione’s lesson plan. Handing it to Hermione to check over she sighed.
“What do you think the boys are up to?” She said gently rubbing her tiny baby bump.

“Probably just goofing off. You know how they get when they are away from us.” Hermione chuckled thinking of the pillow fight Ron and Harry had just before Harry’s wedding.

“I hope you’re right…” Ginny said uneasily. She had a bad feeling.

“Stupify!” Harry yelled out pointing his wand at an unknown dark wizard. Striking him down Harry dodged a stray curse aimed directly at him. Ron had gone off fighting two of the dark wizards at once and Harry could barely hear him yelling out defensive spells.
Laying at his feet was Goyle, his eyes staring blankly at the sky. He had been hit by a full body bind curse and dropped like a ton of bricks. Harry kicked at Goyle’s robes. “I’m glad you’re on the up and up, but you’re safer in this state at the moment.” Running quickly to find Ron, Harry left Goyle there unable to move, but completely aware of everything going on.
Sneaking up quietly Harry found Ron on his knees surrounded by three dark wizards all of their wands pointing directly at his heart. His wand had been broken into tiny pieces and he was near tears. “Please… I have a daughter.” He was pleading for his life.
Harry sat there his mind spinning. Without a wand Ron was helpless, and if he made a single move both of them would end up dead.

The man who seemed to be their leader removed his cloak’s hood revealing a greasy face surrounded by matted blond hair. Ron looked up into Lucius Malfoy’s face. No longer the strong handsome features of a wealthy man, he was a shadow of a human being. “Malfoy…” Ron whispered.
“Ah Weasley, I see you and that Mudblood wife of yours have been doing what your kind do best. Breed like pigs.” Lucius spat out in disgust. “time to prevent that from ever happening again.” pointing his wand at Ron’s head he whispered coldly. “Where is your hero Potter now? Avada Keda…”
A loud pop sounded.
