"Zat iz a yez,"Derek said wiht a mouth full of food.

"East with you mouth closed,boy,"Reese said.She looked at Sabrina."Are you ready for your second year?"

"Overly excited,"Sabrina said.She took a piece of chicken and put it on her plate."Hey,Res,Is what you whispered to me on the carriage true?"

"Umm..."Reese said.She looked at Derek and Alex."I don't know.I took a guess."

Sabrina shook her head."They would make a cute couple.If only I could find someone."

"You'll find someone,Sabrina.Trust me,"Reese said.

"I trust you,"Sabrina said.

Alex sat down next to Reese and looked at her."Why didn't you wait for me?"

"Because Derek was going to have a heart attack if he didn't get anything to eat,"Reese said."And anyways,you're too slow."

Alex smiled."You've been slower."

"Ya right,"Reese said.SHe put some corn in her mouth and started to chew.

"Guys,"Dustin said."Aren't the first years so little?They look like midgets."He laughed.

"HEY!! I use to be a first year,"Reese said.

"True,but you never were that short,"Dustin said.

Reese smiled."Amen to that.I'm glad I was tall."

"Not as tall as me,though,"Jeremy said.

"Nobody can be as tall as you,"Reese said.

"Is that a complement?"Jeremy asked.

"It can be,"Reese said.

"I would take it as a complement,Jeremy,"Dustin said.

Jeremy smiled."I think I will."

"Okay,I'm full,"Derek said.

"Good,"Reese muttered.She finishe dher last piece of cake and stood up."Ready to go to the common room,guys?"

Dustin stood up."I guess this is where I go to te Huffie common room."He smiled and walked off.

"I'll see you around,"Sabrina said."Gotta go to the seventh floor."She hugged Reese and left.

Reese looked at Jeremy,Derek,and Alex."Let's go to the dugeons."

The Slytherin Common Room was crowed with first year.

"Move,"Reese said.She pushed her way throught the crowd and finally made it to an empty area in the corner of the room.

"Derek,"Reese said.Derek was talking to a first year and it was pretty funny.She laughed.

Jeremy grabbed Derek and pulled him over to Reese.

"Do you like to torment firsties?"Reese said.

"I've been known to do that,"Derek said.

Reese shook her head."Well,do it later.Okay?"

"Okay,"Derek said."Where's Alex?"He turned around and spotted Alex sitting on the sofa writing in a book.He walked over to her and sat down next to her."Whatcha doing?"

"Writing,"Alex said.

"Writing what?"Derek said.

"It's called a diary,"Alex said.

"Really?"Derek said.He yanked th book from Alex and began to read it."This is funny."

"Derek give that back!!!"Alex said.

Derek shook his head.He threw the book to Reese,but Reese wasn't paying attention.

"AHHHH!!!"Reese said when she saw the book coming her way.She ducked down and the book went into the fire.Reese turned to the fire.

"DEREK!!!!"Alex yelled.

"I-I'm sorry,"Derek said."Reese was suppose to catch it."He eyes Reese.

"It's not my fault,"Reese said."I didn't know you were going to throw a book at me head."

"That book had years and years of writing in it,Derek,"Alex said.Tears started running down her cheek."How could you?"

"Don't cry,"Derek said.

Alex shook her head and got up and ran up to the girls dorm.

"Smooth,"Jeremy said.

"Shut up,"Derek said.He went to the boys dorm and never came back out.

"I'll go check on Alex,you check on Derek,"Reese said.SHe kissed JEremy and headed tot he girls dorm.

Alex looked up at Reese."I know.It's just that book was my mom's.She gave it to me a few days before she died.She wrote in it when she was little.It meant so much to me."

Reese hugged Alex."Want me to kick Derek's butt?"

Alex laughed."If you want to?"

"You know I will,"Reese said."I'm not afraid to do it."

Alex nodded."Go ahead kick his butt,I don't care."

"I'll do it tomorrow,"Reese said."I'm ready to go to bed now."She gave Alex one more hug then walked over to her bed and fell asleep.

Reese woke up the next morning to notice Alex wasn't in her bed.She strectched and got up.She put her robes on and walked down to the Great Hall.

"Hey guys,"Reese said as she sat down at her table."What's up?"

Derek looked up at Reese."Not much.Except Ale,here,hit me so hard this morning,I think I lost 20 IQ points."

Reese laughed and looked at Alex."I thought I was going to hit him."

Alex looked up at Reese."I felt like doing it."

Dustin came up to the Slytherin table and sat down."What's up my fellow Slytherins?"

"Not much,"Derek said.

"What's witht he bruise on you arm?"Derek asked.

"Alex hit me,"Derek said.

"You got beat up by a girl?"Dustin said.He laughed."That's bad,mate."

"Your making it sound worse than it is,"Derek said.

"Okay,"Dustin said."Let me try better.Umm...Derek you got beat up by a..."He stopped and laughed."I can't say it sound better.It's just pretyt funny tht you of all people got beat up by a girl."

Derek looked at Dustin."Can you please leave?"

"Make me,"Dustin said.

"Drop it guys,"Reese said.She looked at Dustin."Well make fun of him later,"She whispered.

"Sounds good to me,"Dustin said.He stood up and walked back to his table.
