Chapter 11
Ron woke up the next morning exceedingly warm, even though he didn’t have a single blanket on him. Hermione was curled up next to him, her head on his shoulder. Her breathing was light and her hair was in her face. She looked so innocent when she was sleeping and she was even more beautiful. Realizing he had his arm wrapped tightly around her, he gently moved his arm from away from her. With his free hand he touched her cheek smoothly. She moved in her sleep; then slowly opened her sleepy brown eyes. Looking into her gorgeous eyes, a smile broke out over Ron’s face. He got a smile back, before she suddenly jumped off the bed with wide eyes.
“Oh no! What time is it?! What is everybody going to think when they find out you slept in here?! What is your mother going to say?! She’s going to think I’m a little scarlet or something.” Hermione said pacing back and forth.
Ron chuckled and sat up. “Hermione, chill out. It’s going to be all right. Mum doesn’t know that I slept in here.”
“What about Harry and Ginny?” she said, stopping to look at him.
Slipping off the bed, he walked over to her. “We’ll deal with them later. Get dressed. You slept in the clothes you had on yesterday.”
“So do you.” She said, giving him a weak smile. She then walked over to her trunk to get some fresh clothes. Ron opened the door slowly and tiptoed up the stairs to his room. When he opened his door, Harry’s bed was empty. “Dang.” He thought. He was hoping Harry would still be in bed. Changing quickly and throwing his clothes that he was wearing yesterday onto the floor, he walked back down the stairs. He stopped at Ginny’s door and knocked quietly. Hermione opened it and they walked down the stairs together.
“Why is it so quiet?” Hermione whispered.
“I don’t know.” He replied, wondering the same thing. They walked into the kitchen and found Harry and Ginny holding hands across the table.
“Whats going on in here?” Ron asked with a smirk as he sat down at the end of the table. Harry and Ginny let go of each other’s hand and both began to blush.
“Nothing.” Ginny said and looked away from everybody.
“Where’s mum at?” he asked.
Ginny said nothing, but handed him a letter. Hermione walked over and read over his shoulder. He heard her take in a sharp intake of breath behind him. His brother Charlie was at St. Mungo’s. Hermione went and sat down next to Ginny.
Ron set the letter back onto the table. “She said he was going to be all right.”
“Yeah. So where were you two last night?” Harry asked.
It was Hermione’s turn to blush. Her cheeks grew a deep pink and she wouldn’t make eye contact with anybody.
“So are you two back together then?” Ron asked, rounding on him.
“Your such a jerk Ron!” Ginny shouted and stormed out the kitchen door. Hermione sighed at Ron and followed her.
“So I’m guessing that’s a no.” Ron said quietly after a moment of complete silence.
“Yeah were not.” Harry said looking down at the table.
“I’m sorry Harry. I didn’t mean-“
“It’s ok mate. So are you and Hermione together then?” Harry asked looking back up at him.
“Um…I don’t know.”
“How do you not know?
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know nothing.” Harry chuckled.
“Yeah well.” The two boys laughed at this.
