What you do is a person who wants to write a fanfic, submits the first chapter and as you go along you write more chapters. The finished fan fics is a section where all the fanfics that people finished writing go there so they can still be read but they are closed for comments. In the Romance section you will find active fanfics that people are still writing. You don't have to submit the whole story all at once, you can write more chapters as you go a long.

Chapter 15: ~ Confusion in the Dark ~

The next few days Hermione spent mostly with Harry and Ron. They let her return to them with open hands, like the argument they had had after potions, never happened.

It seemed she was making up for the past few months when she wasn’t with them because she was hanging out with Malfoy. Although it wasn’t like she never thought or cared about him anymore, he was always on her mind. The last few nights she spent crying into her pillow. Ginny tried to sooth her and try to make her forget about it.

“Hermione, just forget about him!” Ginny said for what seemed like the hundredth time that day. They were in the great Hall enjoying a great lunch and all Hermione did was stare at her food. Malfoy was over at the Slytherin table, holding hands with Pansy Parkinson. They looked like such a sweet couple; she thought then slapped herself on the head. She felt so jealous of them and couldn’t help looking after them as they left the Great hall while Draco’s hand was around Parkinson’s waist. It seemed that Draco had asked Pansy out the day after Hermione had returned to Gryffindor tower and Malfoy to the dungeons. She couldn’t help feeling lonely.

“I know, I know,” Hermione told Ginny. “I’m trying.” Hermione took a sip of her pumpkin juice and said she had to go finish some homework as an excuse to get away from eating.

She passed the stone gargoyle and climbed the moving staircase. When Hermione walked across the second floor towards the library, she slipped on some green liquid and stumbled and fell. She slipped all the way across the floor and bumped into Malfoy and Parkinson who were kissing. Parkinson let out a shriek as both of them toppled on top of her. Hermione let out a howl of pain as their feet kicked into her. She pushed them off of her and made to get up when Malfoy said, “Watch where you’re going, Mudblood! Can’t you see I’m making out with my girlfriend?” And Pansy Parkinson smiled admiringly up at Malfoy and said, “Yeah Mudblood!”

Hermione ignored them and raised herself up. Without even thinking, she walked back towards the stair case and forgot about the green liquid. She slipped on the liquid and before she could stop herself, went screaming strait down the stairs. She tumbled down the first flight of stairs and bumped into the stone railing with a crash. She howled in pain as she lay there panting. Malfoy’s face looked worried and he made to go run and see if she was alright but Pansy grabbed him by the elbow and dragged him to the library.

Hermione lay there several minutes then raised herself with great difficulty. Her body let out protests of pain and Hermione fell back against the railing. She limped down the many flights of stairs to the seventh floor. She didn’t even have to give the Fat Lady the password; the Fat Lady just looked down at Hermione and said, “Who did this to you, dear?” and opened up for her. She climbed through the portrait hole and made her way to where Harry and Ron were sitting.

“Hey,” she said, falling into an armchair and closing her eyes. Ron and Harry turned towards her and eyed her questioningly.

“What happened to you?” they asked in unison.

Hermione opened her eyes and curled up in the armchair.

“Why don’t you guess?” she said stubbornly.

“It’s Malfoy, right?” Harry said, sitting up straighter in his seat.

Hermione didn’t answer. She was thinking of Malfoy and Parkinson. Since when did he like her? Didn’t he keep on telling her she a suck up little Pratt and he would never date her if he had to.

“What did that piece of scum do to you this time?” Ron asked angrily.

“He’s going out with Pansy Parkinson!” Hermione said and felt a sting of jealousy as she said this. Harry and Ron burst out laughing.

“M-Malfoy and Parkinson?” said Ron, in between fits of laughter, but Hermione didn’t find it funny at all. She pursed her lips and said nothing.

“Who would have thought that the two most stupid people on earth would finally realize they were meant for each other!” Harry exclaimed grinning.

“Well, let’s see,” said Ron. “They are both Slytherin’s, they both love Snape, they can’t-”

“-Would you to just stop it already?” she yelled, springing up from her seat.

“Whoa, what’s wrong with making fun of Malfoy?” Ron asked Hermione, his smile disappearing from his face.

“You’re a prefect Ron!” she pointed at his Prefect’s badge. “You can’t go making fun of people like that, even if its Malfoy were talking about!”

“Since when, am I not aloud to make fun of Malfoy?” Ron asked, his ears slowly turning red. “You complain about him all the time! He never says thank you when I do something nice for him or why won’t he ever stop picking on me?” he said, trying to mimic her in a very bad girlish voice.

Hermione opened her mouth to retort but Harry cut in.

“OK, will you two just stop it already?” he said, cutting in between them.

Hermione and Ron glared at each other.

“Are you in love with him, or something?” Ron asked, and Harry put down his arm and took a step back. He looked at Hermione, and waited for her to answer instead.

Her mouth fell open in shock. She, Hermione Granger, in love with Malfoy, a Slytherin and her enemy? No, that couldn’t be. She was not in love with him. But did she have feelings for him? Even just a little? No, she told herself. She hated him just as much as Harry and Ron hated him.

“M-me?” she stuttered. “Love D-Draco Malfoy?” she asked to make sure she heard him correctly.

“Yes,” said Ron as if he kept it in him for a really long time and he was finally letting it all out. “Do you love him?” he asked again.

“What-? How-? Why would you ever think that I would love someone like Malfoy?” she asked and it looked like it was taking her every ounce of strength to keep her standing with those bruised knees that were hurting her like fire. She crossed her fingers behind her back in the hope that he didn’t know about their few kissed and moments together when they still shared a dorm.

“Well, you look pretty sad about not sharing a dorm with him anymore!” said Ron, his face now bright red. “Ginny told me you’ve been bawling your eyes out over him!”

“I’m going to have to have a few words with her because I am really glad to be back!” she said her face turning red now to. “You try living with that guy for two whole months!” she yelled at him and stormed out of the common room, trying hard not to lose balance and give away.

She needed some time alone to think. Ron really knows how to get on her nerves. She limped into an empty classroom and didn’t even bother to close the door behind her. The room was all dark and she knew no one would find her there, not even Mrs. Norris…

She sank onto the cold stone floor and buried her head in her lap. She felt hopeless and confused. She didn’t even know what she wanted anymore and she’s been doing really badly in classes lately. Suddenly she heard a voice whisper somewhere in the dark room.

“Hermione…”

She jumped and let out a shriek. She looked around frantically for the source of the voice and felt shivers go through her cold body.

Left you a cliffie there. Well sort of unless... well I won't give it away!
