Shane stood up straight on her heels, making herself look impressive and just a little scary. Well, quite a bit scary. Hopefully it wouldn't be necessary at the moment until she was in the courtroom. She didn't even think she could do scary. Oh well. "Right, Mr. Wordsmith," she replied with a quick wink. |
Syd chuckled a bit and put his hands in his pockets. Apparently Ms. Dalton was showing off too. Well he'd judge their character in court soon enough since he planned on prosecuting cases despite his new job. "So are you excited to start tryin' cases?" he asked, voice low and drawl a little more apparent because of it. |
"Excited?" Shane asked, a puzzled look on her face that quickly turned into a bright and cheerful one. "I've pretty much been born ready for them cases. I mean, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't ready now would I, Mr. Wordsmith? I didn't go through years of schooling and preparation for nothing, you know." |
Syd smirked and nodded to the girl. She was good. He pulled one hand out of his pocket to run it through his hair, chuckling a bit. "Yes, I suppose you're right, Miss Dalton," he said, nodding. "Well I hope to be in your courtroom one day, trying a case. That way I get to truly see you in action." |
"I'm sure that you'll see me in the courtroom someday soon, Mr. Wordsmith," Shane replied, clicking her purple heels together gently. "Hopefully sooner than later." "I suppose that we both have other work to get to than just chit chat," she continued with a slight shrug of her shoulders, holding out her hand and reaching for Syd's. "It was a pleasure talking with you, Mr. Wordsmith. I hope we'll meet again sometime soon." |
Syd gripped Shane's hand, giving it a good shake. He looked into her eyes as he did so, smirk still on his face as he shook. Yes, he'd be seeing her soon. He was already a great prosecutor and he was going to make that known to these new judges. "I'll just be getting back to my office na'," he said, heading for the door again. |
Shane lt go of his hand and her smile grew even wider. "See you around, Mr. Wordsmith," she said, as he walked out the door. "Don't work to hard." She giggled and turned around, facing her fellow co-workers. It was time to get to know some of them. From the looks of it, she didn't even know half of them. Lots a new guys this time around, she thought as she walked away from the door and toward her co-workers. She smiled at each of them and said, "Hello! I'm Shane Dalton, in case you didn't know that." She quickly looked down and straightened her purple robes, she smiled as she looked down at her shiny purple boots. |
Egypt got off the lifts and stared down the long halfway. She was nervous, and she smoothed the wrinkles out of her simple black robes. She had changed on the lifts, she didn't know if the bright yellow ones she had worn would be appropriate for a Judge to be wearing. She had worn conservative heels that day and she was glad for it, it was a long walk down to the office. She threw her shoulders back and pushed open the door. It was beautiful, big beautiful desks. She peeked around looking for hers. It was in the back near a wall magicked to look like a window, and it was showing a lightening storm, but Egypt didn't care, she quickly sat down in her chair and swiveled it around. This was her first real job and she was excited to get started on it. |
Zoey walked in and looked around. She saw a desk and walked over to it. She summened a piece of paper and a pen. She scribbled down To any Judges: Mr. Wordsmith would like to know if any of you are ready and would like a court room prepped because he has a case ready for trial. Thank you Zoey Cambridge |
Egypt looked at the note that was posted. She was excited about the prospect of a actually case. She had been itching to get into the courtroom and work on a actual case |
Nathan wandered sheepishly into the Wizengamot. He felt rather uncomfortable in here – the atmosphere was rather intimidating. He scratched his head uncomfortably and brushed his hair out his eyes as he looked around. He felt (and looked) very out of place, but had heard rumour that a Miss Egypt Riddle had started work here; as a judge no less! He had come here to check to see if that the rumour was indeed true. If so, she had done far better with her application than she anticipated - but this was not unexpected to Nathan. On their meeting the other day, it was clear to him that she was a woman of ambition and stature – not one to be chasing around after petty criminals - that was a job to be left up to the Nathaniel Greenwoods of this world. He wandered to the centre of the room and looked around, taking everything in… So this is where it all happened – where countless peoples fates were decided… for better or for worse. Scary stuff indeed. The last time he had seen Egypt, the conversation had flowed freely and easily. He had been completely relaxed in her company… so why was he so nervous about seeing her again? - he was feeling tense just being in this room and it wasn’t helping matters. He willed himself to appear relaxed on the outside as he looked around. And then, he saw her. Sitting by the window, wearing plain black robes. For a moment, he thought about turning and walking away before she saw him – would she really want to see him again? He cleared his throat nervously and sauntered as casually as possible in her direction. “Miss Riddle” He said quietly as he came to a halt in front of her desk. “Just thought I’d drop by and wish you congratulations on the new job.” He gave her a warm smile, but unsure whether she would actually welcome his presence in her place of work. |

She looked up when she heard her name, expecting a fellow judge to ask her something. It was Nathan. She didn't think she would see him again, she had made such a fool or herself, she just knew that she had made a bad impression. "Nathan." she said her manuscripts forgotten. She stood up quickly and knocked over all her papers. "Oh no," she bent to pick them up, forgetting that using her wand would have been a much faster way to collect her papers. He made her nervous. "Thank you." She said loving the sheepish smile that he gave her. "I just started yesterday." She told him. She looked around there was no place to talk in private. "Do you want to grab a gilly water in the break room?" she asked, hoping he wanted to spend time with her as badly as she did him. |

She quickly set the note down on the desk. She turned on her heel and ran right out the door. This sure is professional, she thought sarcasticly. Oh well. |

“Alright.” he replied, relieved when she suggested going to the break room - it was so quiet in here that your voice echoed even if you talked in a whisper. “A judge, Miss Riddle. I’m truly impressed.” he said brightly. He hoped to hell that the other Wizengamot judges would make her feel welcome. It was always hard being the new person. Nathan had had the advantage of starting at the same time as his colleagues, so they had all been pretty much in the same boat on their first day. “How are you finding it so far?” he asked as they began walking towards the door. |

"Thank you Nathan, I am impressed myself." She told him, she reached over for her change purse that was sitting behind her desk on the shelf, as she extended her leg the back of her skirt hiked up to reveal a scorpion tattoo blazoned up her thigh. "Oh, its going great. We are getting ready for a case in a couple of days." She stood up straight and turned and walked over to the door with Nathan. ooc: next post in the breakroom |
Egypt walked into the office. Her head hurt a little, she let Nathan take her out drinking and it wasn't going so well with her being awake at 7am. She was wearing a deep orange robe with red heels. Her hair was pulled into a tight bun. She had some more paperwork to go over. She wondered when the trials would be starting. She walked over to her desk and prepared for another day at the office. |
Shane walked back into the office and sat down at her desk. She had just finished her lunch and had decided to go and sit at her desk. Maybe she would write a letter to home if she didn't have a huge pile of work to do that had been waiting for her to finish a while ago. She waved at Egypt when she walked past her desk. "Hello, Egypt," Shane said quickly, stopping by her desk before heading back to her own. |
Steven pressed te wrong button on the lift and had found his self here in this room. He exaimed it and saw that it looked a lot like a court room. Pehaps, their was a case on today. Steven pushed the button so that the elevator would come back down. This room gave him the creeps so he wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. |

ooc: sorry i just saw ur post :( |
Shane smiled at Egypt. "Oh yes. I did have a good lunch. ... So, how was your night? Looks to me like you had a little party or something." Shane giggled to herself. Parties were fun. "I totally love those deep orange robes," she continued. "And those heels! So adorable." OOC: It's alright, love. :) |
Egypt gave her a small smile, "Me and my boyfriend Nathan Greenwood had a little too much ale last night." That was the first time she had drunk ale and it was not agreeing with her. "Well thank you, my sisters Ireland and Irish make all my robes for me. I can send you a couple of you want." |
"Ah. I see," Shane said with a smile. "At least you had fun. That's all that really matters, I guess. As well as being safe too. Glad you had fun." Her eyes widened. She would die to have some properly made robes, not that anything was wrong with her set of them. "That would be quite lovely, actually. I've had these things," she said, pointing at her purple robes that seemed brand new, "for quite a while. Don't look a thing like they used to. Think you could get them in purple?" She rolled her eyes at herself. Everything has to be purple with you, Shane. Sheesh! |
"Well thank you, if you ever see us in the Raven's Claw pull up a chair and have a drink." she said with a smile Shane did really seem like a nice woman to get to know after work. "Oh my sisters can give you any color to match anything. They even make mood robes. They change color to match your mood. I can bring some in for you tomorrow." She told her brightly |
"Hmm. Sounds like fun. I'll have to head over there sometime when work is over or something," Shane smiled brightly. "Having a nice break from work wouldn't give me to much pain, so I'll totally head over one day." "Mood robes?" she asked. "Interesting. I guess a pair of mood robes would be neat as well. It'll be interesting to see how quickly my mood changes each day." She made a little giggle. A little too interesting, actually. |
"Oh its a nice little pub, lots of muggles though, but they are nice chaps mostly." she told her. "I'll bring you some purple sets of robes too. I have boxes and boxes of robes they send me to try out." She shrugged. |
