"Cristoph Witte. British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters. I'm with the ladies," he said casually, coupled with a slight arching of his eyebrow. |

She couldn't help muse over the sight in front of her, a sea of people in purple and black. It was so weird. 'When i get married,' she thought, 'none of this.' |

Jacob strode up to the security gate. He could see he was on the late side; very few people were trickling in. Waiting his turn in line to be checked in, he tugged his dark plum suit smooth and removed his wand from the inner left breast pocket. The present, small and neatly wrapped, was tucked under his arm. There hadn't been too much he could afford (until recently) due to his lack of a job, and Jacob hoped the gift would pass inspection - both by security and by the soon to be newlyweds. |
Lola slowly walked in wearing her dress plum robes. She wasn't fond of wedding ceremonies, so she decided to arrive later to avoid it. She joined the queue of latecomers, running her fingers through her done up hair. Her normally mousy brown mop was shiny and vivid, perhaps she should do this more often. Her deep blue eyes were accented by her eyeliner and brown eye shadow. She had left her red-rimmed glasses at home, opting to use the muggle eye correction known as "contacts". Her eyes were uncomfortable, but she knew she looked better for it. How muggles wore these blasted things she had no idea. Tapping her foot, she carefully remained balanced, she was not used to wearing high heels, but for a wedding she went all out. In her left hand was a small wrapped parcel, a gift for the happy couple, even if she didn't personally know them. She reached into her handbag and felt around for her wand. Thank goodness for magically enlarged bags she thought to herself as she felt everything from tissues to novels. Finally she happened upon her wand, which she wanted ready for the security check. |
Some time later, Nathan arrived back at the main security checkpoint. There was a small queue growing again - those sensible ones who chose to skip the boring bit and come to the reception only – how very wise of them. Quote:

“Can I just have your wand a sec, love?” He asked holding out his hand. |

Lola opened her bag and rummaged around. "My wand, sure just... I had it a moment ago..." She continue to fumble around her small purse until she found it. "Ah! Here it is," she announced, pulling out the wand from a bag that appeared too small to hold such a large object. "I forget how big that little purse is on the inside." She handed over her wand to Nathan. "So working security? How's that going?" she asked. "You'd think they'd have something more important for you lot to work on," she chuckled. Important law enforcement working simple security, it was comical. |
“Oh me neither.” He replied. “But it’s always worth it for the party in the evening.” Wedding parties were like no other for a good old knees up. He took a quick glance round and leaned forward a little, speaking in a hushed voice “I thought we didn’t have a choice in attending this thing. It’s ridiculous, half of the guests in the ceremony looked like they had much better places to be.” He took her wand and gave it a really quick look over before handing it back. “Have you recovered from your ordeal with the house elves?” he asked her concerned. Lola had been through a lot worse than Nathan had that day. “You never did tell me what happened with that awful muggle boy. …maybe another time, over a coffee in the cafeteria.” He suggested. “I’m afraid so.” he said with a smirk. “I think the Minister and his new wife have visions of grandeur.” He chuckled. “They even have all the Aurors working. It all seems a little OTT to me.” He gave her a smile, “Not that I want to put you off attending – the reception will be fun, I think.” Oh, and now the formal part. “Gift table’s over there.” He pointed. “If you’ve brought anything, and there’s a guestbook to sign if you feel like it.” |
Lola chuckled. "Well it's a good thing I showed up fashionably late, then," she said, relieved she hadn't missed anything. Carefully shifting her weight, she was still getting used to her fancy shoes. "You blokes are so lucky, you don't have to wear these," she sighed, pointing to the silver high heels. "They are bloody painful," she moaned. "But at least they look good." Taking her wand back, she went to put it back in her purse. "I trust there'll be no need for that," Lola noted, dropping it into the cavernous bag. Looking around, she took in how beautiful the ceremony was. "It might be over the top, but this is quite some set up," she marvelled, eyeing every little detail. All the guests were like a sea of purple and black, it was really well done. Walking away from the check-in into the wedding, she said to Nathan, "I'm sure the reception will be fun, I need a bit of a relaxing evening." She continued to fool around with her hair, which never quite seemed to fall properly. "Thanks. I'll see you around!" she added, thankful security didn't take ages. Finally done with that, she walked over to drop off her gift. |

As he observed the people still in line and the security who regulated it, a thought occurred to him. "Wait a minute...do you have to spend the entire time out here? I'm not sure I'd have the patience for that." |

Back to boring old work then. He wished Egypt would tear herself away from the reception and come and keep him company. Where in Merlin’s pants had all his colleagues got to now? Quote:
“There’s plenty of security on, we’re supposed to be rotating and patrolling the whole area. But… ” He squinted and glanced around. “…my colleagues have all mysteriously disappeared.” “All seems to be in order. You’re free to enter. Gift table’s there.” He pointed. "Guestbook - there.” Yada, yada, yada. This was getting extremely tedious now. |

"I've been to a few weddings," Jacob said. "And they all have a tendency to be similar. Receptions though...those are different, each and every time." Jacob frowned a little as he looked about him and noticed that what the man had said was true - there were hardly any security personal around. "Maybe you should Summon them back," he joked. "Thank you, and don't let yourself get too bored out here." Jacob nodded goodbye to the man and migrated over towards the gift table and guestbook. |
“You’re right there.” Nathan replied. Long and boring and often very drawn out and tedious. “The reception? Depends who you get stuck sitting next to. But the free food and drink makes up for any bad company.” In Nathan's experience, receptions were always a good place to meet lots of interesting people from all walks of life. He chuckled lightly. “I have a feeling they’ve all snuck off to the reception.” And who could blame them? Maybe when the queues filtered out Nate would go and join them. “Thanks, mate. Enjoy the reception.” He said with a smile and a nod as the man left for the gift table. |
Hayley arrived by portkey. She was wearing a black and purple dress and had her hair coloured in a light purple colour. "I swear, portkeys are bad for your hair. There, it's fixed. So, where's the security??" |

Oh, such joy. At least he didn't have to see the wedding. That was the one thing he'd be dreading. |

"Here's my wand, and this is the gift for the couple. Invisibility cloaks." Hayley said, after she saw his reaction the the cloaks. "Plus, they're custom made, and the secrets about cloaks are in the cloaks and can only be pulled out by the owners." She looked like she forgot something. "Oh yeah, my invitation. Here you go |
The guests were still trickling in despite the fact that the ceremony was welll and truly over. Nathan was pleased when Jake eventually decided to show up and do some work... about bloody time! Now, where the bloody hell was Elwood!? He decided, and because he seemed to have done most of the work so far, to use this opportunity to creep away for a bit and have a look in on the reception. Maybe have a sneaky firewhiskey or two when his bosses’ backs were turned. Why should the Law Department miss out on all the fun, eh? Especially as their presence here thus far, been completely unnecessary. As Jake was attending to the people in line, Nathan seized his chance and headed off towards the reception. He was pretty sure the man wouldn't want his company anyway. |

He waited patiently while she looked like she forgot something, before remembering she still had to give him her invitation. Taking it quickly, he scanned the information. 'Thank you. If you'd like to proceed to the gift table and the guest book and memory pensieve.' He gestured in their direction. 'Have fun.' Quote:

Then Hayley walked over towards the gift table. |
She was late as always, she realized the ceremony was most likely over. But she still need to drop off her gift, that she had spent a week searching for. Parker still couldn't believe she was wearing a dress, she couldn't really remember the last time. But there she stood in a very expensive little black lace-trimmed dress with black ballet slippers. She glanced down at her present that was neatly and perfectly wrapped. Her espresso brown hair covered her face as she made sure the card was still perfectly in place. She really hoped the Minster and he's bride would enjoy the expressive crystal vase. That rested carefully in the very neat black box with silver ribbon around it. She walked up to the security check point and smile "Parker Grey and I work in the Department of Mysteries." she said with a yawn, she really need to start sleeping more. |

'I'm just going to check you, your wand and your gift, Miss Grey,' he told her, running his wand down her person quickly. Finding nothing wrong, he waited for her to let him examine her wand and her gift. |
Parker nodded as she handed over her wand and gift. She only hoped he would be careful. That present had cost her more then she would have liked to admit. She yawned softly as she looked down at her very nice black satin ballet slippers. She was utterly exuasted and the thought of sleeping for days sounded like a wonderful idea. Maybe she could drop of her present and sign the guest book and things, and then go home and sleep. |
Forrester moved towards the security check point to verify that everything was alright. "very good!!" He said as he saw everything was in order. "Keep the good job!" he added as he turned around and moved towards the reception. |

'Thank you, Miss Grey. If you could sign the guest book and leave a memory, and leave your present at the gift table, you may proceed to the reception.' He gestured in the direction she needed to go. |
