| | The Time Room This room is, by far, the brightest one in the Department of Mysteries. Clocks can be found anywhere there's a stable spot. A huge crystal bell jar stands at the far end of the room, and it is from this that the sparkling light comes. The bell jar stands on a desk and appears to be full of a billowing, glittering wind. Inside the jar, rising and falling on the glittering current, a tiny object moves through an endless loop. The object is a small humingbird, but it doesn't always stay so; at the bottom of its circuit, the bird is within its egg. As it rises, it hatches and grows into a mature bird by the time it reaches the apex of its path. On the way back down, it becomes a fledgling bird and then reenters its egg, which reforms around it. This progression of time repeats over and over within the jar. Also, a large glass-fronted case stands against a wall within which many Time-Turners of various sizes rest on shelves. To the very left as you walk in, a dark oak desk sits in front of the whiteboard with a few, thin file folders on it. The nameplate is hard to read, but as you walk closer the name reflects off of the golden background as 'RaeAnn Asteria'. The desk was so neat on it that it was hard to tell if anything had ever been touched. There were few pictures on the desk, if any at all. The drawers were locked, full of personal and departmental items that need not be disturbed. It was so perfect, it was hard to imagine what could be in there.
So step on in, and don't be afraid. The ticking will fade after a while. |

"You too." she smiled again and then walked out with a small nod to Kris. Now to go see the other five divisions!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Cecilia Sarynwar Graduated | Another first day. Cecilia had arrived to the Ministry at least 45 minutes ahead of schedule (after all, while she could appreciate the irony in being late to the Time Room, it was really rather undisciplined to show up late for anything, especially a first day on the job, in a department associated with time.)
She casually strode to the lift, isolating herself in the corner, and indicating her need to reach floor nine, just as she casually took her time to vacate the lift, and walk down the corridor to the door that led into her new place of employ: the Department of Mystery's Time Room.
She really wasn't sure what to expect; there were many rumors of the condition of the Department of Mysteries, as well as of it's employees, the Unspeakables. Perhaps she would be condemned to working in a dim, dusty room, full of cobwebs and downtrodden, oddly ticking clocks with a lot of old fogeys who could creep out even the likes of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. While she hoped it was otherwise, she steeled herself for the possibilities anyhow, and pushed through the entrance.
The first thing she noticed, of course, was the brightness; a stark contrast to the dark hall she had been standing in but a scant moment ago... Once her eyes adjusted, and she was able to see more than just spotty white light, her senses picked up on the next blatantly obvious thing in the room: the sound of countless clocks ticking. It was bearable, though, since she noticed that they all ticked and tocked at regular intervals, rather then erratically and brokenly; it probably would have become a problem, if this weren't true.
Smoothing her hands over the non-existent wrinkles in her intentionally asymmetrical black and red robes, she began to silently traverse the room (which was easily accomplished with the sounds of clocks to drown out her footfalls) en route to the Division Head's desk to report in for her first day of work. Passing by a group of her fellow employees, she nodded to them, before continuing to the empty desk, standing rigidly with her hands stiffly laying at her sides, waiting for instruction ...
She wondered momentarily what kind of work she would be doing here in the Time Room ... no matter; she still felt the swell of anticipation, and was eager to showcase her intellectual prowess to whomever it was she was working for. |

Jade glanced up from her work, she heard something different in the room. The ticking of the clocks, she was well accustom to, but she would hear a faint sound against the floor. Yes, footsteps. Someone new was there. In her time in the Time Room, she had noticed the difference in footsteps. The faint sound was very new to her and that only meant one think, someone new was joining them.
Smiling to herself, she looked to the approaching woman. She remembered her first day like it was yesterday. She had actually never officially reported to Kris that day and had jumped right into work. She had been so eager to start she forgot about it all together. But all that work did prove to be rewarding in the end. "Welcome to the Time Room, I'm Jade Smith." she smiled to the woman, noticing she had taken a desk not far from her.

Melina smiled. Another new comer, very good! The girl had definetly noticed the light difference in this room compared to in the hall, to which was was previously an occupant of. Everyone did, but after a few weeks of working there, it was an easy adjustment. Then, Melina took it as her que after Jade introduced herself, to do the same, so she put on a light smile and said, "Hello, I'm Melina Papadakis, and as Jade said; welcome."

Jade looked about the room. It was eerily quiet once again. The ticking of the clocks and the faintest sound of chairs against the floors were the only noises present. It was a bit calm, but those of them there didn't seem to mind. Looking back down at her work, she did find it rather odd that no one ever really said much whilst they were here. A complete difference feel than what she experienced in her time interning in America.
Shaking her head a bit, she returned her attention to the books before her. Perhaps soon they would have a new exciting project. The time-turners had been a real treat for her at least. She did enjoy tinkering around with them.

| HeadGirlMC | Treddie & Trixiver <3 | Copy Girl | Katie's Ickle Minion | I love YOU more Charlotta walked into the eerily quiet time room. Early, as per usual, but she wanted to make a good impression for her first day. Noticing the desk as she entered, Charlotta walked over but found that no body was there. Nervously, she sat down in a chair in the far corner of the bright room. No body seemed to be here yet. How early was she? Picking up a large book by her side, Charlotta began to read by herself, waiting for another employee to arrive that might show her the ropes.
Time was always an interesting subject. But Charlotta didn't know what to expect in her new job. If only someone came to join her.

Melina walked into the Time Room early one morning. Her eyes adjusted very quickly to the lighting difference, and she realized thatshe wasn't alone almost immediatly. There was a girl sitting down at one of the desks reading a fairly large book. She was new. Plopping her stuff down at her usual desk, Melina turned to the girl, taking her coat off and putting it up on the back of the chair and said "Hi, Melina Papadakis. You're new down here right?"

Melina watched the girl as she put down the book she was previously reading and met her for a hand shake. "Welcome to down under.", she said with a smile. The girl seemed friendly, but somewhat reserved. She'd been like that too when she first started. "Oh? Recent Hogwarts graduate by any chance? Well, you'll definetly enjoy yourself here. Never a dull day, that's for sure." Melina said as she watched the hummingbird in the glass bell jar reform and listened to the rythmic beat of the clocks as they ticked. There was a familiarity about it all, and Melina loved it.

| HeadGirlMC | Treddie & Trixiver <3 | Copy Girl | Katie's Ickle Minion | I love YOU more Charlotta had worked at Flourish and Blotts before her new Ministry job. It as a good experience but Charlotta wanted to stretch her talents out into a more difficult job and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
"What type of work does everyone do here then?" Charlotta thought. She was generally intrigued with the time room. As she looked around she noticed the many clocks framing the room. Her eyeline was drawn to a small hummingbird in a glass bell jar was flittering about, it's colours reflected off the light flooding the clock filled room. The atmosphere was relaxing, with the clocks droning on creating a steady beat.
As the woman left after telling her that she had changed divisions, Charlotta picked up her large book and started to read once more. Maybe if she continued to read then she might be prepared for the job ahead. All she had to do now was wait for another employee to arrive.
