"Right here!", said Melina, joyously, as she walked back into the room. The meeting had gone well, she was thankful for that. "We're working on the Time Turners for the Cup, as you'd mentioned before, right Kris?", Melina asked glancing around the room at the other employees. Two new ones, that was a good start.

Kris frowned slightly at Lucein's reaction. Someone definitely didn't seem to be having a good day today. Besides Kris, anyway.

He turned to look at Melina as she entered the Room once more. She was late for once, but it wasn't a big deal. He sat down on his desk and folded his arms as he looked at his employees. Sighing slightly, he thought he should address something that was brought up in the meeting.

"Before we begin," he said, pausing slightly. "We need to address a few issues. The first one is being on time to your job. I am here early every morning. I do not expect to see you here before I am, and if you are I will question your sanity. I understand you have those mornings where you run late, and that is fine. But if you are more than an hour late, we'll start to have problems." He looked towards the file cabinet, and looked at the three employees in front of him out of his original seven. "Showing up period is important. If you cannot make it a day, please owl me. I have seven employees registered here. Only three of you are here. Coming to the job is crucial."

He looked towards the back of the room where there were all of the old pieces of Time Turners, clocks, and other magical equipment he had no idea about yet. This subject hadn't been covered in the meeting, but needed to be addressed just in case something of this nature would come up.

"We are all adults here. Stealing should be below us, correct? There have been instances where previous employees have taken things from this room. Newly constructed Time Turners for personal use are extremely hot from this room. If anything is taken from here, there will be severe repercussions. Do you understand?"

Last but not least, he turned away from his employees and towards the Muggle white board he preferred to use. He flicked his wand and one of the markers began to write on the board.

"As you all should know," he said, facing them once more. "The Quidditch World Cup is coming here. Every department and division in the Ministry has an assignment. Ours, for the Time Room, is to create a specific Time Turner. It's a short period one to review plays and to ensure no cheating occurred." He flicked his wand again and a box came floating up to where they all were seated and hovered in front of Kris. He pulled out five time turners and held them up. "These were used previously in other World Cups. They are old now, and we have to fine tune them."

He walked up to his employees and handed one to each of them, with Kris holding two left. "We have to make sure that each rotation is only a five minute interval. If they really need to go back further, they'll do more rotations. We actually will have to test them out to make sure we've gotten it right. It will take a little while to do, because you can either set it back too far or not far enough. It also involves removing sand or adding more to get the correct balance."

He paused to look around at his employees. "I know it's a lot to take in today. There are books at the tables for each of you. Read over them, and if you have any questions I will be right here."

Walking back to his desk, the box followed. He flicked his wand so books appeared at the big group table underneath the clock that illuminated the room. Once he was done, the box put itself on the ground next to the desk as he looked at the Time Turners he had in his hand, always aware of what was going on in the room.

Melina was very unsatisfied with herself for being late but it did not seem to be of concern to Kris so she decided she needn't chastise herself if it wasn't an issue.
Melina nodded and made other appropriate gestures at times when they were needed. She was listening and taking it all in, but her mind was set on the task at hand, the Time Turners.
Zonning back in, she listened to the last of Kris' speech, took the Time Turner she would be working on from him, and then nodded once more, before walking over to one of the books on the table and setting down the Time Turner. Pulling up a chair and opening the book, Melina sat down and began to read.

Torquil had been silently listening to Kris as he spoke, Good thing he had been here early! He looked down at the time turner in his hand and smiled a little. Instant replay huh? How so very cool..

Well, he needed to get to work, with a nod at Kris, he walked to his table, carefully set the time turner down on the desk, and opened the book, he hated reading, he much preferred doing.. But....

He sighed a bit as he settled back into his chair.. This was going to be a lonnngg day!

Ten minutes had passed and Melina was finally sure she had gotten a gist for what needed to be done. Melina had found a piece of paper and a pen and began to jot down ideas as they came to her, crossing some out as she realized the variables were all wrong. Looking around, she saw that Kris was still gone. Wonder where he is, She thought to herself. Shaking her head, she focused on the task at hand.

Now, let's experiment., She thought. Well, I used Permovio for moving the sand in that other assignment, wouldn't hurt to try it now. Raising her wand and concentrating hard on the sand, she muttered "Permovio!" and the sand moved onto a tray on top of the work table. Okay, now, turn it back 3 times and forward 2. She did so and then time was flying backwards and all of a sudden, she found herself reading the manual which she had finished 15 minutes ago, except it wasn't her,per say. She was reading the manual, but she was watching herself read it from a crouching position behind a desk.Hm... what could I have done wrong? No time to find out here, gotta go before I see myself., Melina said herself with an expression of awe at what she had just seen, as she quickly reversed the process in which she had used to get herself there in the first place.

Flying back into "real time", she frowned, a little dissapointedly. "Well, that was an epic failure.", she said aloud, before realizing that she was not alone. Blushing, she said, "Sorry, I tend to do that sometimes, for future refrence." Then,she turned on her heel and returned to the list of things that she could try "back on the drawing board."

Xerxes was very excited about his first day at the Time Room, on his way in all he had seen were clocks of different sizes and shapes, even different colours too. Finally he entered the main working area, and saw that almost everybody was busy at their own table doing some work. Pouring sand and making things tick. He finally found his own table and sat down. He glanced up to see that the girl opposite him was very pretty but his glance also fell on the 6 books piled neatly on his desk. Inside the first one, there was a note. He read it and started flipping through the pages of the books trying to learn as much as he could in a small interval of time.

Melina crossed out yet another idea, and squinted hard to see the parchment because all that she could see was black and white. A little while had past since her failed attempt at traveling backward and Kris still had not returned. Though as she glanced around the room, she noticed a new face sitting at one of the tables. More employees, she thought to herself, while smiling at the new guy, he was Greek, she had realized, being one herself, it was not hard to miss, Kris will enjoy that.
Then she shook her head and looked up at the clock as she had originally intended on doing. The time had flown by and she needed to get back to work. How about turning it forward 5 times and then backward 3? she thought. That could work!
Completing the action, she watched as time flew backward into the previous day, or so she supposed. Definetly not right. Melina held in the urge to sigh overdramatically, for fear that she would be discovered, which all in all, would not have been good. She quickly scampered to an area behind one of the multiple shelves and reversed what she had just done, bringing her back into the cool, autumn day that was the present.

Ari was late. Late, late, late. She showed up just in time for work, but wasn't counting on the mob of people crowding her way in the Atrium. When she finally got in an elevator, something malfunctioned and it took thirty minutes for maintenence to repair the problem. She ran into the Time Room, frustrated at having such a bad start to her first day.

Jade walked into The Time Room and shielded her eyes slightly. Yes, must add brightness to list of things I must get over. Turning her eyes to the source of the brightness, she smiled. The ever present cycle of life. The sight of it always did manage to put a smile on her face. Her eyes moved around the room quickly as she noticed all the others were busy working. Well, everyone but one person. Perhaps it was their first day as well. HR was a mess and it would be understandable the confuse. She had a hard time getting an answer from them earlier, but at least she was where she was supposed to be now.

Nodding her head at no one in particilar, she found an empety workstation and sat down. Hopefully she wasn't invading on another person's space, but she did need to get started on her work. Noticing the books on the table, she opened one and began to read. It didn't take long for her to firgure out what they were doing. Time Turners for the Cup. Now that's cool. It wasn't the first time she'd work with Time Turners and she did have some experience, even though she wasn't supposed to have known about them. Oh the things I learned while overseas.

Seeing a time turner on 'her' workstation, she reached for it and started to work on it. She would just have to find one Kristofer Atkins later. The work was to come first and being that she was added to the department so late, she had a lot of work to make up for.

Melina looked up as she heard the door open and smield at the new comers, both of whom looked atleast four years younger than herself, if not more. One looked rather disdained with herself for being late. She also appeared to be a bit flustered. The other looked totally confident and set straight to work. She smiled warmly at the two of them before saying, "Hello, I'm Melina Moretti-Papadakis. Welcome to the Time Room!" Then she nodded in the direction of an empty desk and motioned for the one girl, who had not, to sit down. "We're working on preparing Time Turners for the world cup, so the officials can be sure that no cheating or foul play has occured. We're really just experimenting, so read the books you've got at those tables and then get started. Kris, our Department head can explain further, if necessary.", Melina said, taking it upon herself to explain the task at hand. Then, she set back to work. Could it be it was 4 turns backward and one forward?

Jade looked up from her work, turning toward the source of the voice. "Hello, I'm Jade Aimee Smith," she smiled as she continued to work. "You can call me either, it's up to you and thank you for the welcome." She had a feeling about this place, she might actually like it here. It didn't look like their department had many people, but she figured perhaps the small group would actually work better. She was a bit independent and did tend to work extremely well in small groups or alone. Smiling to herself, she returned to the task at hand.

Flipping a page in one of the huge books in front of her, she set the time turner down and reached for her wand. If she remembered correctly, making a time turner began with the wood first, followed by the sand, and finishing with the glass. So she would have to move backwards. Remove the glass and then the sand. There would be no need to removed the wood. Ensuring the time turner was securely placed on her workstation, she pointed her wand and went to work. Concentration she pointed her wand. "Redintegro Vas" Watching the glass shard float in front of her, she smirked to herself. That wasn't as hard as he made it out to be. Wait, I shouldn't be thinking about him. BACK TO WORK. Shaking her thoughts free of her wandering memories of best forgotten times, she pointed her wand again. Concentration on just the sand and with a firm hand, she casted the needed spell. "Permoveo" She watched as the sand began to move about, keeping in mind she only wanted to remove just a bit, as to finely tune the turner; she moved just a tiny bit to a container on her work station and stopped the spell, moving on to return the glass to the turner. "Redintegro Vas" The glass shards slowly began to form around the sand again, taking on its rightful hourglass shape.

She picked up the time turner and smiled. Looks good, not it's time to test it. Cautiously, she took it in her hands and turned it four times backward and two times forwards. Let's hope this works.

Walking into the room and looking around with a smile, Becca took in the number of people in the room. Well, there was enough to do the job they needed to do for now. Walking over to the table where people were working, she watched them interestedly "So how is it going?" she asked, looking at everyone, waiting for someone to speak up.

Ah, the stupid Time Turner was not cooperating with him tonight. Kris couldn't help but get slightly upset, and barely noticed the entrance of two more employees. Since when was he and this division so popular?

Shrugging his shoulders, he walked to the front of the room and placed his glasses on his desk.

"As Melina said, welcome to the Time Room," he said, smiling slightly. "Are there any questions you may have for me?"

Kris' next thought was interrupted by the door opening behind him. He really needed to get a lock for that door, or some way to monitor it without him being surprised each time.

"Mrs. Lee," he said, nodding his head. "To what do we owe your presence for?"

A nice looking woman greeted her and explained what she should be doing. Ari gave a sigh of relief, smiled back, and replied "Thank you very much, I'll get started on that now." She walked over to an empty desk and began reading.

"Just thought I'd have a wander, see what's going on" Becca smiled, looking at Kris "You know, seeing how things are coming along since we don't have long left.." she looked down at the Time Turners "Having trouble?" she asked.

"Ah, I've forgotten about that," Kris said. "How much longer until the World Cup? I'm rather excited."

Hopefully Karma would be home for it. He needed someone to go, since he hadn't seen Addie in a while.

"Not long, not long at all.." Becca sighed. This really needed to be finished "Well, just try and get it done as soon as possible, we need to be ready a bit earlier than everyone else in the Minstry because what we do here will contribute to what they do to finish up.." she nodded at Kris with a smile.

Tanja walked into the room. 'Wow!' She thought. Everything was just so amazing. Clocks, time-turners, and even a crystal ball. She had such a hard time resisting going to see if she could see anything. Plus it was so bright. "Now this is my kind of place." She said to herself.

Smiling at the woman who'd just walked in, Becca shifted her position so she was more as she stood there "Kris?" she looked up at the man curiously, wondering why he'd not said anything yet. Putting a hand on her lower back and looking at Kris searchingly, she waited patiently for a reply.

She'd only come out for a walk and to check on things because sitting in her chair constantly wasn't good for her and the baby, now she was wishing she hadn't left her chair.

"No problem!", Melina said to the younger woman and then got back to her work. The door opened once more revealing Mrs. Lee their department head. Melina smiled at her before returning to what she was doing.

As it turns out, 4 turns backward and one forward hadn't been the magic combination. Hm... 2 forward and one backward? Melina did so and crouched down behind one of the many shelves and watching a scene play out in front of her;

That had been just five minutes ago. She had it! Melina was practically jumping up and down from her hiding spot. Quickly, she reversed the order and went back to her original time. "Kris, I've got it, finally.", Melina said excitedly, "It's 2 turns forward and one turn backwards!"

Aargh, distractions of shiny objects in the room. Darn his fascination with things that made him block out his boss and now a new entrance.

Wait a second - he had ANOTHER new employee. It just had to be his lucky day then, honestly.

"Well hello there," he said. "It is quite a place, actually. I'm Kristofer Atkins, miss. Call me Kris if you'd prefer it. I'm your division head here."

Kris eyed Melina's progress curiously as she suddenly turned her Time Turner and then disappeared for a moment in front of his eyes.

Drat. Oh well, he couldn't be the best at everything.

"Very good," he said as she reappeared and announced her achievement to him. "Now what all did you do to tweak the rest of it?"

He leaned against his desk for a moment before he remembered his pregnant boss was still inside the room. Quickly, he conjured a comfy chair that scooted itself underneath her, complete with footrest and massage options if needed. Who said chivalry was dead, eh?

"I'd like to see what you did, and I'm sure everyone else in here would like to see as well. If you don't mind, that is."

Watching what was happening in the room with a smile, Becca saw Melina appear and then tell Kris she'd got it. Smiling, she nodded "Yes, well done" she added onto to Kris' praise. Feeling something scoot underneath her which made her sit down as a reflex, Becca looked down curiously and confusedly until she realised it was a comfy chair. Smiling, she shook her head "Thanks Kris, but it's fine." she nodded to him, stood up and looked around at what was going on. Wanting to know what Melina had done exactly, too, Becca looked at her with an encouraging smile.

Melina smiled at her bosses before retracing her steps, "Okay, the first thing I did was shed the wood, using Aufero, then Permovio to move the sand, and completed the Time Turner with Redintegro Vas, which gave me the glass." She paused for a moment to regain her footing, she didn't want to sound like an idiot in front of her bosses, so she collected her thoughts and moved on. "And then I experimented. First, I tried 3 times backward and 2 forward, but that took me back fifteen minutes from the time that I had attempted that. Then, after a few more attempts like those, I thought or another tunr that I could try;2 turns forward and one backwards. and it worked." She summed it all up, hoping that would be an acceptable answer, to tell the truth, she still had so much to learn.

Listening interestedly, Becca found herself feeling impressed "Good work!" she smiled at Melina. "That sounds great to me!" Obviously she wasn't an expert but she did know a little about this stuff!! Looking at Kris, Becca smiled "Well, I'll leave you to it!" she decided to leave them to their work and move on "I have other divisions to go and visit, but good work here." she repeated herself. Turning to the door, she put a hand on her lower back and sighed softly before heading to the door.

"Thanks!" Melina said as Becca smiled at her. Time turner still in hand, she smiled triumphantly. This was good, very good. Setting the time turner down, gently on the wooden table behind her, she said "Have a nice day!", before realising maybe she was being a bit of a kiss up. Oh well, what was said and done was said and done, and she always was a little teachers pet.
