Candra Aylin would hate to admit it out loud, but she was... Nervous.

As she stepped into the Time Room, her first reaction to the seemingly blinding light was to pull out a pair of Wizarding sunglasses from the shoulder bag that was slung over her shoulder. As she perched them on her nose, she found that the light had reduced substantially, and, instead of doing what she'd heard countless times from her Pureblood relatives about Muggle sunglasses, she could still see everything perfectly.

The sunglasses are violet and match the ring Candra wears on her right index finger. The Wizarding watch on her left wrist seems ironic compared to what's in the room--but it's like Jet Lag, you need to sometimes keep to your own body clock.

Candra's clothes are not very imaginative today. A red, form fitting vest which was the first thing Candra could grab on her haste to get here and some slightly baggy, but nevertheless new jeans and some smart Muggle trainers are what adorn her.

She supposes she should be wearing robes, but she didn't have time to remove the incriminating stain that she'd made on them that breakfast, so she'd folded them up neatly and took them to work with her in a shoulder bag, in case she got a spare minute...

The room didn't appear that much duller, or dimmer due to the sunglasses, but the light emanating from the large bell jar that rests on a desk at the far side of the room seems less likely to give Candra a headache now.

As Candra moves slowly towards the bell jar, she notices what's around her in more detail, clocks on any sturdy place, Time-Turners in a large, glass case... But what really draws her attention is the small bird inside the bell jar, repeating it's life cycle over and over again with the shimmering light that swirls around with it.

Entranced, Candra blew a strand of shimmering hair out of her eyes, and knelt down by the bell jar, adjusting her shoulder bag as she did so.

I hope I'm not supposed to be doing something already... It's just so... Wonderful.

Cassandra Ford silently opened the door into the Time Room, slightly nervous as to meeting her Division Head. Flinching, she reached her hand up to her face, shadowing her eyes so she could somewhat see. Eyes blinking rapidly, trying to get the spots gone, the woman looked aorund the room.

Clocks. That was basically most of what she saw on any spots that were stable enough for support.

Looking around the room, Cassandra didn't see anyone, so she assumed she was early. That was, until she saw a young woman towards the end of the room, looking at what seemed to be some sort of jar. But what was strange, was that her hair looked multi-colored.

'That's odd.' Cassandra thought, her brown eyes sliwly adjusting to the various lights in the room. She looked around again, seeing a glass-fronted case against a wall. She slowly walked towards it, and under further inspection, found that there were various Time-Turners resting on the shelves.

Deciding to see what the jar at the end of the room was, the woman approached the the jar. Nearing it, Cassandra saw the Humming Bird in it. But what was strange, was that the bird looked as if it was repeating it's life cycle over and over.

Fascinated, Cassandra stood a few feet behind the woman that was already looking at the Bell Jar.

'I wonder when the Division Head will get here, unless he or she is already here, hiding, or working...

Meredith opened the door to the Time Room and stepped in. She couldn't wait to meet her new employees.

Standing just inside the door, Meredith didn't move for a moment, closing her eyes and letting the steady ticking of the clocks relax her. Opening her eyes, Meredith noticed two women standing by the giant hourglass. Her employees couldn't be here already, could they? It wasn't time yet.

Meredith looked at one of the many clocks on the wall. Oh. She was late. 'Nice way to make a good impression on your employees, Meredith,' she thought to herself. 'Be late on the first day.'

Meredith put a smile on her face and walked over to her two employees. "Hello," she greeted. "I'm your Division Head, Meredith Watson."

Still watching the bird in the bell jar, Cassandra didn't notice someone enter the room. But when she heard a new voice, she slightly jumped.

She turned around, seeing another woman walking up to her and the multi-haired one. "Oh! Hello." She said. "I'm Cassandra, Cassandra Ford. I'm sure it'll be a pleasure working with you in this division, Miss Watson." She slightly smiled back, her nervousness coming back.

"This room is simply... stunning. I've never seen so many clocks in my life." She exclaimed, looking around. "And the bird in the bell jar. Wow."

"Hello, Cassandra" Meredith said warmly. "Call me Meredith. I'm not much for formalities."

Meredith followed Cassandra's gaze around the room. "It is amazing in here," Meredith agreed, a look of pure bliss spreading across her face. Anyone looking at her at that moment could tell that Meredith loved her job. "I could stay in this room for hours, just listening to the clocks tick and watching the hummingbird."

Parker pushed the door open to the Time Room, and was instantly greeted by blinding brightness. Closing her eye, she listened to the steady rhythm of the clocks. Opening her eyes, she could see tiny multicolor dots surrounding her sight. 'Could this room be any brighter?' she asked silent to herself as she glance around at the many clocks.

Her eyes landed on a small group of women standing around a strange bell jar. Letting her head fall, since she felt embarrassed since she was possible the last to arrive to work. 'Great I'm late and the last to arrive.' she thought hopelessly to herself as she walked over to the others.

"I'm so very sorry I'm late and I'm Parker Grey." She introduced herself with her American accent peeking though her worlds.

"Hello, Parker," Meredith greeted, immediately picking up on the American accent. She made a mental note to herself to ask Parker where she was from later. "I'm Meredith Watson, your Division Head. Don't worry about being late," Meredith reassured Parker. "I was actually a few minutes late myself." Meredith's own American accent showed when she spoke.

"Well," Meredith began, looking around at her three employees. "Since everyone is here now, we can start. We have some Time-Turners that are broken," Meredith gestured towards a box of tiny hourglasses, "and we need to fix them. Since they're made of very strong magic, we have to wear special suits to make sure none of the sand inside touches our skin." Meredith went over to the only corner of the room that was not covered with a clock and opened the cupboard that was there. She pulled out the suits and began handing them to her employees.

"Good morning Meredith." Parker greeted happily since her boss already seemed pretty awesome. She was still too shocked at how cool the room was and how amazingly beautiful the clocks were. She noticed her boss also had an American accent as well. She was utterly take a back by the hummingbird in the bell jar. "I promise I won't be late again. I just miss calculated my timing." she explained since she knew better then to be late.

Saying a quick "Thanks." to her boss for handing out the protective suits. Resting the suit in her left arm, she pulled out a hair-tie from her bag, she quickly pulled her curls into a messy ponytail. Leaving her bangs falling in her left eye. 'This is a very intresting first day.' she thought to herself.

Cassandra smiled, she could tell Meredith really loved her job. "Yes, it is amazing..."

The dark haired woman looked to where another woman entered. She introduced herself as Parker. "Hello, Parker." She said. "I'm Cassandra."

Turning back to Meredith, Cassandra noticed the box of broken Time-Turners. "Thank you." She said, taking the protective suit from the head. Following Parker's example, Cassandra also took a hairtie out from her pocket, and tied her own hair into a low side-ish ponytail, leaving only her fringe.

Parker turned to the woman who had introduced herself as Cassandra. "Oh, hello Cassandra." she greeted cheerfully with a hint of tiredness. "I'm Parker." she introduced herself with politeness. She was rather happy since her fellow coworker seemed really nice and to Parker that was a bonus. Since she wasn't sure how well she could get along with someone who was either mean or rude for that matter.

Her eye traveled to the box filled with the broken Time-Turners. She had read about them but never once in her life saw them as in for real only pictures from the books she read. Sighing, she pulled the suit over her small shoulders and quickly pulled up the zipper. The suits remind her ever much of muggle hazmat suits. This job was certainly amazing as she was sure she was slowly falling in love with the rhythmic sound that filled the room.

Meredith finished handing out the suits and pulled her own suit on. Although the suits did look much like muggle hazmat suits, they were magically enhanced to be lighter and much more comfortable.

Meredith walked over to where the box was on the floor and carefully picked it up. She brought it over to a table and set the box down. Meredith turned to her employees and began to explain what they were doing. "These particular Time Turners are just cracked," she said. "We need to transfer the sand to new hourglasses." Meredith waved her wand and another box, this one full of new hourglasses, appeared on the table. "You need to be very careful, though. If any of the sand from different Time Turners gets mixed or spills, the consequences can be disastrous to the space-time continuum."

Meredith looked at her employees through the protective face shield of the suit. "Any questions?" she asked.

Parker listened carefully to Meredith's instructions and made a mental note to be extra cautious not to make any mistake. Since she was sure no good would come from accidentally destroying the thin line that was the space-time continuum. She looked down at the box filled with new hourglasses and hoped she wouldn't drop on, since she wasn't the most coordinated person in the world.

"Nope." she said calmly as she gentle grabbed one of the broken hourglass. She couldn't help but smile since she was actually holding a Time-Turner, even though it was broken it was still pretty amazing. She hated the word slow, since she liked doing everything but she could understand why this job had to be done slowly.

Pulling on the protective suit, Cassandra listened to the instructions from Meredith. She put the 'extra cautious' note in her brain. Figuratively, of course. 'No mixed, nor spilled sand, would cause damage to space-time continuum.' She put that in her brain, too.

Pulling down the face mask of her suit, she said, "No." Gently taking one of the Time-Turners out of the box, Cassandra studied it. Her's looked pretty much the same to all the others in the boxes. Yet, it still looked different from the others. It wasn't the crack, either.

'Time-Turners truly are amazing...'

"Great!" Meredith said, grinning at Parker, Cassandra, and Candra. "Let's get started, then. Remember, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. I'd much rather spend all my time answering questions than have one of you make a mistake because you didn't understand something."

Waving her wand, Meredith produced another box, this one empty and marked, 'fixed Time Turners'. "Once you're done, put the Time Turners in here," she said. Later, Meredith would put the final spell on them to make the Time Turners usable again.

Meredith selected a Time Turner whose wood was beginning to rot. Taking a new hourglass from one of the boxes, she began to work, keeping an eye on the new employees.

Looking up from her Time-Turner, she listened to Meredith. "Yes ma'am. I'll be sure to." Cassandra said, giving a sharp nod.

She saw a box appeared, with a sign on it labeled 'Fixed Time-Turners'. The Ford woman watched as her department head sat down at her own desk, with her own broken Time-Turner from the box.

Turning back to her own, Cassandra started to study it again. "What needs fixing?" She asked herself, under her breath. Soon she found it, a small crack in the top part of the hourglass.

And so she began to work.

ooc: Hey Boss, how do you want the employess to fix them? (Meaning, how do want us to explain how we fix them?) And how would we fix them? Sorry for the questions!

ooc: Don't worry about it. I understand that life gets busy sometimes. As for how to fix the Time-Turners, get creative about it. There really is no right or wrong way to do it. You can RP yourself having some type of problem, or anything. Just have fun. And I don't mind questions!

Meredith observed her employees as they began to work on the Time Turners. They seemed to be doing a good job, especially for their first day. She just hoped nothing went wrong . . . there were so many different problems that could come from fixing Time Turners.

Finishing up her first repair, Meredith placed the Time Turner in the box labled, 'Fixed Time Turners'. She grabbed another one and began working on it, while still attentive to her employees in case they needed any help.

Candra had to admit--she'd been taken by surprise.

She hadn't heard anyone entering behind her, but before she knew it the room had been filled by two other employees, and the Department Head. They'd all introduced themselves to each other as she'd stood there, dumbstruck at how they'd managed to get into the room without her realising...

And then, suddenly, she was being handed a protective suit, and told what she was to do first.

Well, the first thing Candra did was to push her shoulder bag safely under a table that wasn't in use by anything other than a clock. The second thing was tying her hair up in a bun, and it's multicoloured shine shimmered slightly as she did so.

By the time the 'Fixed Time Turners' box had appeared, Candra had pulled on her protective suit, and was wondering absently if everyone else thought she was tremendously rude or something, as she hadn't uttered a single word aloud since she'd walked through that door...

She carefully picked up a broken Time Turner, and began to examine it slowly. At last, she found a long, hairline crack that ran down the length of the hourglass. "Aha!" Candra breathed, excitement and anxiety building up within her as she lifted her wand to the crack, muttering words under her breath in a nervous habit, and watching intently as the crack grew bigger without shattering the glass.

When the crack was big enough, Candra began to un-verbally speak another spell, and the sand slowly rose out of the crack, moving with her hand as she drew it to a new Time Turner she'd set next to her, letting the sand settle in it's new home, and, sealing the Time Turner with a flick of her wand, Candra set the Fixed Time Turner in it's appropriate box and heaved a huge sigh of relief.

Even if the rest are that easy, it's sure going to be stressful...

I'm really really really really super uber sorry !!

Parker nodded, before getting to work at a slugs pace. She wants used to do thing so slow, she was sure time was no longer moving. But then again she was sure she could live with going slow, rather then making a mistake that could ruin time itself.

The nineteen year old was beginning to realize that for this job, she was going to have to gain some how to take things slower then she would like. Her mind started to wandered to other things as she did her work, even though she still managed to keep an eye on what she was doing.

Looking over at the fixed Time-Turner box, she couldn't help but notice how full it was becoming. Which meant the job was almost done and that meant hopefully there would be another thing for them to do after this.

Pausing in her work, Cassandra thought back to her sixth year in Hogwarts. The year when her father gave the big news. That he and his pureblood of a girlfriend were getting married. Thirteen years later, and she still doesn't understand why her father married that woman. She shook her head. 'I shouldn't still be thinking about this. I need to get back to work...'

Resuming her task given to her, Cassandra soon fixed her first Time-Turner. She got up from her workspace, and walked over to the 'Fixed' box. Gently putting hers in the box, she picked up another hourglass from the other box, and walked back to her workspace. She then started working on her new one.

ooc: Seriously, everyone, don't worry about it. I'm just glad you're here now.

Finishing her second Time Turner, Meredith began to walk around the room, checking on her employees.

As she walked around the desk and checked everyone's work, she again asked, "Is everyone doing okay? Anyone have any questions?" She knew she was sounding like a broken record, but it was imperative that no mistakes be made. Meredith was actually surprised at how little had gone wrong so far. Usually there were more problems than this on the employees' first day . . .

ooc: Are you just asking for trouble to happen? x) Don't worry, Cassandra's too old (29) to make mistakes...

Cassandra worked silently to the steady ticking of the abundant amount of clocks throughout the room. Her current Turner's wood was rotting. She paused in her work when Meredith spoke.

"I'm doing fine, Meredith. I'm quite sure I don't have any questions. But when I do, I'll ask." The dark haired woman responded. Actually, she did have one question...

'Why has only so little has gone wrong so far?'

"Great," Meredith replied, giving a warm smile to Cassandra. Meredith paused for a moment, watching Cassandra work.

As she moved on to the next employee, Meredith heard what sounded like a small explosion behind her. Startled, she whirled around, looking for the source of the noise. It could have been anything, from someone making a mistake or simply something in the room malfunctioning. "What happened?" she demanded, a suddenly serious look on her face. Whatever had gone wrong, it hadn't sounded good.

Cassandra nodded to Meredith's comment, and resmumed working. She could feel her boss watch her for a moment, before moving on. She was almost done with her current Turner, before she heard a small explosion. She flinched, almost dropping her Time-Turner, but she didn't, she catched it. She didn't want to see the consequences if she did.

Setting the hourglass down, Cassandra turned around in her seat. She looked toward her boss, who had a serious look on her face. "I don't know, Meredith." She said. 'But it sounded bad...'

Meredith nodded, still scanning the room to find the source of the problem. "If anyone sees anything that could have caused that, let me know," she said calmly, her voice not portraying the panic she felt. Meredith walked around the room, checking and double checking everything in her attempts to find out what had happened.
