"Nice to meet you Jack!" she said chuckling, he looked a little taken back to be in a girl with so many girls, but it was true, this department was ruled by the girls " So for who are you here Jack? Me or Abigail? And with that I mean, Experimental Charms or Invisibility Task Force? I can never tell, since the two offices joined it's hard sometimes to figure out who is in which" she let out a short laugh.

Her or Abigale? hmmm well.....

OH!

"I'm invisitably task force...well I think...." he thought about the owl he'd gotten, "Yeah, I'm in that one. I'm sure." The two offices had like submerged? Ace!

Calla stepped forward to shake Jack's hand, "Nice to met you."

Calla returned to her desk and began digging throug the stack of files again. She wasn't in a chatty mood. The conversation in the cafeteria with Ryan had not gone well. She burried her nose in the files, hoping no one would bother her.

Dora smiled at the boy...man and said, "Well Welcome to the office, Jack" She blew a stray bit of hair from her face and smiled at him.


Then Mel asked him which office he was to report to... for all intents and purposes they were one in the same, but right now they were working on different things. She smiled when he said ITF. SHe clapped her hands together and said, "Welcome to the team then. I am another of the ITF employees."

"Oh bugger " Melanie said, her smile dropping " I was hopping you would be on my team!" she said and shrugged ...

... poking Dora on the shoulder " Lucky you, more people to share the work here, I've been totally overloading Calla with this QC matter!" she said with a pleasant laugh.

Dora giggled and playfully pushed Mel saying, "What and I haven't been overloaded?" She then stuck her tongue out at her friend and laughed.

Hearing her name she looked up blankly, "Huh?" She looked from Mel to Jack to Dora. She hadn't heard anything anyone had said. Seeing that whatever said more than likely really had nothing to do with her she looked back down.

It appeared to anyone else that she was very intently studying the files for charms that could possibly be used for protection at the World Cup, when in reality she was playing the conversation with Ryan over and over in her head. Ugg, and that Birce... Calla wished she hadn't stormed away.

"Oh good, I'll know someone then! So...what are we supposed to be doing?" Jake asked, looking around...

Jake smiled, "But we'll still see eachother around, I mean, we're in the same office!"

Dora chewed on her lip for a moment and then said, "How are you at Disillusioning large fixed objects?"

Melanie smiled pleasantly at him "Well, that's true, I keep bumping into everyone in here" she said, bumping on purpose with Dora on her way to her desk, where she sat looking through some papers.

"Hmmm Dora, I could help if you want, since Calla and I are pretty much finished..."

Dora smiled at Mel and bumped her back. She perked up a bit when Mel offered to help her. She clapped her hands together and said, "Well, I have been practicing Disillusioning the carnival tent in my backyard. I haven't perfected the spell on large object so I thought we could try it out since it is one of our biggest tasks at the QWC." She thought for a second then pulled out her wand and flicked it toward a few desks in the back of the room. They transfigured into a tall totem pole and Dora smiled and turned back to the rest of them. "See, it will take several of us casting at the same time to Disillusion the whole stadium, so I thought we'd try that now." she said with a grin.

Jake thought for a moment. "Goodish, I've tried it a couple of times, but I'm not perfectionist!" He smiled as the two girls joked and bumped into eachother, and took another sip of his coffee.

Melanie got up, and took her wand from her sleeve, shaking it a little " I could try it, I'm sure" she said getting ready, as she inspected the totem pole...

... she looked over at Jake and asked him " So, where are you from Jack?"

"Well, the point of the exercise is to get us better prepared, so hop up and give it a go with us. I know it's nowhere near the size of a stadium but, it's a start." Dora said as she got into place on one side of the totem pole.

"Yep, for a start this does the trick perfectly." she said looking around for Calla, maybe she could come and join them.

Dora smiled at Mel and then called out, "Hey Cal..." but she turned and noticed she wasn't in the room. "Hmmm... guess she slipped out without me noticing. Oh well, on the count of three we will cast together and see if we can make the totem go bye bye." Dora giggled and held her wand at the ready. "On three, One, two, three, cast!" she called out as she cast the Disillusionment charm.

Melanie joined Dora on the casting and as she saw the totem being hit by the flashes of light coming out from her wand and Dora's she, for a minute, thought it had worked. It flickered, becoming invisible and visible, but then stayed visible. " Oh bugger!" she exclaimed pouting , arms folded over her chest.

Calla slunk back into the office, hoping no one had noticed her absence. She walked past her desk, slipping the red marker into her bag. Walking up behind Jack, Dora and Mel she whispered, "Maybe we weren't concertating enough." She was trying to make it sound like she had been there the entire time. She shot an evil sort of grin Dora's way.

Jack looked down at his feet. He was always uncomftable with talking about himself.

"You know...here andd there..." he looked around the room, not wanting to meet their eyes. He watched as they performed the spell, not wanting to do anything yet. He wa still...unexperienced.

Dora stamped her foot when the charm didn't work and then she smacked herself in the forehead. "What is the one thing you have to do when casting a Disillusionment Charm? I'll tell you... you have to tap the object with the wand. We all need to gather around the totem and actually have our wands touch the it." she said with a bit of annoyance in her voice. She did not like that she was not getting this spell worked out. It was very important to the QWC and she felt less than confident.

Looking at Calla she returned her sly smile and then turned her attention to Jack. "Step up here with us, Jack and give us a hand. You too Calla." she insisted. Dora was eager to perfect the charm on larger objects. She was more than capable of Disillusioning people and she had even managed to do cars a few times, but the QWC stadium was big and they all needed practice.

Jack smiled, Glad they weren't talking about himself anymore.

"Coming!" He called, and put his cup of coffee down and came to join them around the totem. He took out his wand and looked at the others, "Ready?"

A memo flies into the office and lands on Melanie's desk before making a copy of itself and flying over to Abby's desk. It unfolds slowly and the memo begins to read itself outloud.

Tallin wondered into this new section of his work.He looked around for a moment.He huffed.Well this was going to be interesting.He didnt know anyone.Well he might have seen a few people,but still he didnt know these people.He had left his old job in the Department of Education as he felt like he wanted to experience a new challenge.He looked around and walked up to the nearest person.Running a hand through his hair he said cooly,"Excuse me.. could you help me .. Im Tallin Burke .. Im starting new today"he said,politely

Calla looked up from her files when she heard the door open. She smiled at the man as he spoke, "Hi Tallin, I'm Calla." She got up, walked over to him and stuck her hand out. "What department are you assigned to, Experimental Charms, or Invisibility Task Force?"

Dora was alternating between thumbing through bridal magazines and work files... it was starting to make her head hurt a bit. When a new face entered the office and announced his name and that he was new Dora welcomed the distraction.

Rising from her desk she walked to the man, stuck her hand out and said, "Welcome to team, I'm Dora Lovegood. I am with the Invisibility Task Force, which are you with." Hum... maybe Calla could talk to him instead of Ryan. He was handsome and young... Dora, stop it! she told herself.
