Melanie was right, a Galleon would easliy get lost. Calla thought something that could be attached to their clothing (by a charm) and not removable (except by counter charm) would be best. Melanie dismissed herself and Calla called to her, "I hope you have a fabulous weekend!" Calla thought Melanie was really sweet, and she'd make a good mother.

Calla looked at her files a bit longer, but decided she would head out as well. She placed a number of files in her bag for further review over the weekend, said her good byes to Dora and Abigail and slipped out the door.

A piece of parchment appeared out of thin air, it was as big as cloak and it floated above the ground a few inches, there it could be read:

Dora's mouth dropped open for a moment and then she started to clap. Turning to Abby she said, "Mel's had the baby! Thank Merlin!" She was so excited for her friend that she jumped up from her seat and said to Abby, "Is it okay with you if I take off? I'd like to find Silas and tell him the good news and go visit."

Abigail laughed. She could just image a few crazy witches running around London casting disillusionment charms on random building. "Oh, I haven't talked to Ben about that idea just yet," she answered. "I'm going to be turning in our ideas and what we agreed on with what spell we should use and all that jazz." She glanced down at her notebook and added, "I agree on turning the stadium into a forest, so that's what I'm going to put down." Looking back at Dora, she smiled.

Just then a parchment flew into the office...

She stood up from her desk as she read every word carefully. Mel had her baby? MEL HAD HER BABY! Eeeep! "I should go visit her," she stated. "I think I'll do it later, though. I'll give her and Craig some time alone with the baby before I come." She looked right back down at her papers. "I'm going to go get a cup of coffee in the breakroom, then I'll write all these ideas down on a clean sheet of paper," she continued. "Then, before I leave for today, I'll drop them in Ben's inbox." Yep, that sounded like a good idea.

"So, I'll see you later then, Dora. But, if you need me for anything, you can visit me in the breakroom. Or, if I've already left for day, you can owl me," she told her employee as she began to pick all her stuff up from her desk. Placing everything back inside her bag, she waved at everyone in the room as she left the office.

Calla walked into the office, and found the parchment that announced the birth! With a huge grin, and a pop she apprated out and to Mel's apartment.

Dora strolled into the office looking for Abby. She had left so abruptly yesterday after the news of Mel's baby...

Seeing that no one was in the office yet she took a seat at her desk and pulled out some parchment and a quill and began to doodle.

After a while of sitting in the office being distracted Dora got up and left.

Melanie entered the room after 3 weeks after giving birth. She was again her old self, completely in shape. Little Selene was in the Ministry day care center, with all the other employees children.

She strolled inside in tight dark jeans and a red sweater. She looked around with a smile on her lips " Good Morning to all!" she said happily, clicking with her heels. Which was something she had missed very much.

“Good morning Mel! Wow you look fabulous!” Calla got up to great her. “Who’s looking after little Selene?” Mel had lost all her baby weight in record time.

“Oh and I came up with something more detailed on keeping track of the 12-16 year olds. This little button,” Calla walked back over to her desk reached in her bag and pulled out a plain white plastic looking button that was 1 ½ inches in diameter and handed it to Melanie, “Can be attached to the clothing, by the parents of course, and can convey messages. It can only be removed by the parent, of course.” Calla brushed her long hair behind her ear. “We can charm the buttons to relay the messages; all the parents will have to do is apply the button. The charm to attach it is Applico Boton. Extractum Boton removes it.” Leaning back and resting her hind end on edge of Mel’s desk she continued, “I’m still working on the collection of protection charms the attendees can use on their tents.”

"Good morning sweetie!" she said with a dazzling smile. She had missed the office very much! " Little Selene is downstairs on the day-care center she's so big and smart, I swear she looks 6 month old rather than 3 weeks" she said with a chuckle.

She listened to Calla's explanation and in the end she clapped her hands a few times " That's awesome! You did a splendid job! I think that will work perfectly! Ben will be so happy!" she said analysing the button on her hand. " The parent's would have one too right? In order to communicate with this one? I'll help you on the other protection charms now I'm back!" She said taking out a little notebook, on the first page there was a picture of her, Craig and Selene, taken shortly after her birth. She looked at it with an adoring gaze for a moment and then opened the next page where she had scribbled down a few spells.

Calla beamed! She couldn't help but be proud of herself. "Yes of course, the parents will have a button that attaches to their clothing, and it'll be the reciever for how ever many 'kid' buttons they have. I suppose if we wanted to get really fancy we can charm them to change colors to whatever team they're supporting" Calla said this while she was still thinking it over, so her voice trailed at the end of the statement. "Hmm"

Calla walked back over to her desk, sat down softly, retrieved the file of the crazy woman she had been researching before and started dug further into it. "So, Melanie, got any new pictures of the little one?"

"Woa, that would totally please the audience.." she said with a giggle. She ran her finger through her list and started saying some of the spells out loud " I found these on some of our files, from those protective freaks: an impervious spell for houses, which can be adapted to materials such as tents, a warming spell, to heat the tent so they don't have any ideas of starting a fire inside of it, a localization spell, so people can always be able to find their tents.." she trailed of at Calla's question of her daughter. She was such a proud mother that she beamed with pleasure " I have! " she turned the pages until she found the one were she and Craig were together holding little S. She smiled and Melanie in the picture did the same waving. She touched it with her wand and made it float to Calla's desk. " I have a ton more at home,but that one is my favourite!"

Dora loped into the office and noted that Calla and Mel were already there and getting down to work. "Morning ladies! How goes it?" she excalimed as she took a seat at her desk. She was wearing a soft pink sweater and faded jeans, her hair was the matching shade of pink as well.

With a quick grin she said, "Mel, you look great!"

“Those sound wonderful, especially the warming one!” Calla thought about a camping trip her father dragged her on, he was a muggle and so had no means of making fire magically. She offered, but he refused; well until 3 hours later when there was still no fire. Calla smiled at the memory. Leaning back slightly in her chair she rolled the spells Melanie was describing over in her head. They all sounded perfect for the manual the girls were constructing for the World Cup. Simple, concise.

“Speaking of protection freaks, you should take a look at this file. I’ve been reviewing it for weeks. This woman, Grogila Maystomp, was terribly paranoid. And she made up hundreds – if not thousands- of protection spells for her house, and family. Well apparently, something went wrong. It seems some of the spells didn’t work well together. It was a nasty situation as she lived in a muggle town.” Calla raised her brow, shook her head and continued, “Anyways, I found this one that doesn’t seem to have caused any problems. Contego Maleficus. Supposedly, when cast around a shelter (house, tent) it makes it impossible for anyone with malice intent to penetrate and gain access. It’ll obviously need testing before the Ministry can endorse it.”

Calla wasn’t a paranoid person, so all this protection was new to her. Her thoughts drifted to Dora’s house, was Dora really just using those charms for privacy, or was she one of those freaks? She became transfixed wondering what Dora needed all that protection from. Taking a deep inhale she sat back up in her chair, at that very moment Dora popped in the office – looking very cheerful. “Well good morning sunshine!” Calla beamed back at her. Calla tilted her head and took a good look at Dora, she seemed normal… I’m sure those spells are just for privacy she shut the thoughts up.

Mel glided a picture of the sweetie over to Calla, and instantly Calla went all gooshie, “Oh she’s absolutely precious!” And as if little Selene was right there she started talking to the picture, “oh chess da little girl is so cutie-wootie!” Calla smiled broadly at the picture, and could tell Mel was one proud momma. She sent the picture back Mel’s way.

Dora smiled at her and said, "Goodmorning to you too! Aren't we mighty chipper this morn?" She began pulling junk out of her bag. First her parchment and quills then a bottle of water and some chocolate frogs. "I am usually not one for sweets, but I just flt like some chocolate today, anyone care for one?" she asked as she ripped one open and caught the little bugger as it tried to hop away. She bit a chuck from its belly and scarfed it down. "Anyone seen Abby?" she asked around her mouthful of food.

"Another great idea!! I have to go ask Ben if we'll have a testing spot before it actually happens!" Melanie exclaimed excitedly. This is going to be a blast, she couldn't wait to get the hole thing together. Melanie laughed at Calla's word to the photo " Haven't even thought about having one of your own Calla sweetie?" she asked innocently. Dora popped in Melanie waved at her while she placed the on it's page. " You look cheerful, I suppose.. Silas has something to do with that?" she guessed with a giggle.

"No sweets for me" she said with a laugh " I'm trying to get my figure back, so I have to cut on somethings" she said flattening her stomach with her hand. She didn't look pregnant any more, but she still hadn't reached her old figure.

Dora blushed a bit and said, "Uh... I suppose,..yes... Silas is a wonderful man." She was a bit embarassed to speak about her personal life with Silas. "Oh! I want a baby so badly! I...uh... yeah. Babies are great." she let her self stop talking then. Too much!

She was suddenly very preoccupied with the work on her desk. She went over the same piece of parchment several times trying to look busy.

“No thanks on the candy." Calla turned to face Dora, "I haven’t seen Abby in some time, sorry.”

Looking back towards Mel Calla thought it would be fun if Ben found a place for them to practice the protection charms. And then Mel turned the conversation to Calla, oh yes she’d love to have one. Of course she’d love to have a boyfriend… ppfft! I’m 27 and never even had so much as a boyfriend. Collecting thoughts she answered back, “Oh well maybe, some day I suppose” She said it as coolly as she could.

Calla turned to face Dora when she heard her vocalize what seemed to be her most inner desire. As quickly as she said it Dora acted like nothing was even said, this topic obviously made her feel uncomfortable. Trying to overt attention away from what Dora said Calla said, “So, now that the baby is here, what about those wedding plans?” As Calla asked she flipped another page in the paranoid lady’s file.

"I ...erm... got to go! Forgot... very important... yeah. See you guys later. Give Selene a big kiss for me Mel!" Dora stuttered as she got up to leave. Dropping parchment and quills as she went Dora flicked her wand and they zoomed into her open bag as she scurried out the door to the breakroom.

"Well, that as abrupt," turning to Mel, "does she look alright to you?"

Melanie felt sad, she had clearly made Dora feel uncomfortable, and that had not been her idea, at all. She smiled, and tried to change subject, luckly...

... Calla seemed to notice it too and spared her of that job. Melanie grabbed Calla's words as life boats " Well, someday seems fine, better sooner than later. I confess I hadn't been thinking of babies at all, but now S is all I can see!" she admitted blushing a little.

"Wedding plans.." she said touching her nose with her index " I haven't really thought about those.." she admitted with a shrug " Neither Craig refereed them! I guess we're overwhelmed with the baby and all..." plus my parent's wouldn't show up, and that might be awkward. Or maybe not since they haven't even met their granddaughter yet. Melanie bit her lip and looked away, trying to disguise her thoughts.

Melanie was startled by Dora abrupt departure " Yep, abrupt, but that's just her, she's been doing that a lot lately" she said with a little wrinkle between her eyes. She had no idea what was going on on Dora's life. What a friend she was. " I have no idea, she looked fine when she entered, I didn't even understand what made her leave.. she was fine right? Apart from that slightly awkward moment I made her go through.. babies .." she coughed.

"Yea," Calla said distantly, "she seems jumpy at the topic doesn't she? Poor thing." Calla was worried about her, but thought it best not to follow her. They had only just become friends, and wasn't sure it was her place.

"Anyways, about the wedding, you should definatley wait until spring! It's much too cold right now. And you couldn't wear anything really cute!" Calla winked at Melanie.

Calla turned back down to her file. This woman was a lunatic Calla thought. Mrs. Maystomp had created a charm for her children's shoes. Before the children were able to leave the house she would tell the shoes where the child was going, and wouldn't allow the young one's to stray... I suppose it was everyone she didn't trust, although for really rotten kiddos that charm would come in handy. Calla continued to read and wrapped her fingers slightly on the desk.

Melanie nodded " She does.. I hope she didn't leave because of me!" she said with a sigh followed by a big smile " Yes a Spring wedding would be so lovely!"

She watched Calla concentrate on her file and she pulled out one of her own to do the same.

Calla wasn't looking at Mel when she had started to talk, "Oh you really don't think she'd," catching a glimse of Melanie's smile and realizing she was kidding, "Oh!" and then giggled at herself.

Using her finger to follow her reading she came across another insane charm Mrs. Maystomp conjured up. "Get this, Mrs. Maystomp had a garden full of flowers and they were jinxed to spit a green binding agent on anyone who approached the house and wasn't invited... sheesh I guess that gets rid of door-to-door salesmen!" Calla was very surprised at this woman's lengths.

"some people get carried away with control issues, my flat has a few simple ones but other than that.."she shrugged " I'm sure I can deal with a common burgled on my own, after all, enchantments are my thing" she said with a giggle. " But Mrs. Maystomp wasn't the only one. Mrs. Vimiral, from this file" she said waving it shortly " created a spell that works almost like a trampoline, sending uninvited visitors fly away miles.. of course it wasn't approved by us on her attempt of registering it, way to dangerous"

She laughed hearty.

"The lengths people go to" Calla shook her head and laughed.

Calla was running all the ideas through senarios in her head, trying to make sure there wasn't a sitaution they haven't covered. "You know Mel, we should really find some good defense spells," Calla hated to think about this, "But you know, just incase" Calla shrugged at the thought, I hope no one will need them...
