The Office of the Invisiblity Task Force and Experimental Charms Committee
 

Dora was walking toward the office when she saw the new sign "Wow the two departments have joined... that's awesome!!" Her mouth dropped into a little O when she walked inside and saw that Melanie was going to be in the office now!!

Piper sighed and looked around as she entered the new office. They had joined forces? Why? She quietly entered the office and sat down at a desk, she now deemed as hers. It was in the back, so she wouldn't be noticed much. She looked around, hoping Miss Hale would get here soon to tell her what to do.

Melanie walked into the new office. It looked very good, and there were enough tables for everyone which made her very happy, since her previous office didn't. She was pleased to see that Dora and Piper were already there. She strolled to her desk, the one with her name on a little sign.

She put her bag down, and walked back at Dora, and signed Piper with her hand " Good morning girls" she said smiling waiting for Piper to come closer. " So, for now we don't have much to do, since the explosion things have been a little messy with all the paper work, as I have told Piper before " she looked at her nodding as she spoke " we're going to do a little mock work, I'll give you some situations, things that might happen, and you'll give me ideas how to solve them, and this way we'll train our problem solving skills together..." she smiled at the end " do you think? Can we start now? "

She sat on the edge of a table and pushed her sleeves up. She closed her eyes for a moment concentrating on an idea, then she opened them, her blue eyes sparkling " We receive a box, a climate experimental box, tap it with your wand to make it cold, tap it again to make it hot, you open the box and the hole room atmosphere changes to whatever you chose" she waited a moment then proceeded " BUT " she says leaning forward getting enthusiastic about her little mock mission " when you open it, something comes out, and it doesn't resemble anything you've ever seen, then you " she points to Piper " or you " she points to Dora " start feeling strange, like fainting, eventually one of you does faint.... what do you do?" she finished looking from one to the other.

Piper looked at Melanie as she came in and sat on her desk. She listened quietly to her little "mock exercise." And she thought for a bit about what to do.
"Well..." Piper said in her soft voice that was almost to soft to hear. "First you attempt to get that thing... whatever it is, back into the box. By any means necessary I would think, whether charming it, or just attempting to catch it in the box.. Then once you have it, shut the box, and move the person who fainted out of the room, I would think a little fresh air would help. If not, you could use enerverate??" This entire speech was said in a soft and hesitating voice, as if she was waiting for Melanie to approve of it..

Melanie heard Piper's answer with attention, a lot of it, since her voice was slightly above a whisper " Ok, those are good solutions, but, you can't put that thing back in the box, you can't catch it, what can you do to prevent it to escape out of the door and invade other departments? what can you do to prevent yourself to faint as well? " she said, spicing the plot a bit.

Piper tilted her head to the side a bit as she heard Melanie speak, she thought for a moment before answering, just as softly as before. "Well, I would put a bubble head charm on myself, seeing as that thing seems to be affecting the air. " She answered the last question first, before moving on to the others. "You use a spell to seal off the room, effectively keeping it in the room." She added softly. thinking more. Once she had gotten the other employee's out of the room, or if she couldn't do that, she would probably put bubble head charms on them, and fill them with fresh air. "Then, perhaps you could try different spells on the thing to see they affect it at all.." She added almost as an afterthought. "Everyone's safety is the most important.."

Melanie clapped her hands " Great, those were very good measures, now that you have fresh air, sealed room, lets say you do manage to make the toxic thing to vanish, what about the box? Put it in the bin? Burn in? Study it? What do we do after a thing like this happen?" she said, thinking about the answer as well, she would probably keep the box to study it, dismantle it and find out what kind of spell was cast on it, if it was just an experiment gone wild, of an attempt against the ministry workers..

Dora had listened to Piper and Melanie's discussion and finally chimed in on the last little bit, "I definitely say that it be studied because we need to know exactly what that thing was and what charms or charms were cast upon the box. Then we should decide on how best to dispose of it after we know exactly what we are dealing with." Dora hadn't realized how long she had actually gone without thinking about charms, unless they were defensive, she had her work cut out for her now!!

Melanie nodded at Dora's answer " Exactly, and I'm sure we can say that this specific item is not Ministry approved " she chuckled a little at her joke " So, what do you think about this mock mission? Getting the grip of it? Want to try and think of something more, maybe another one?" she wanted to know her employee's feelings about this exercise, so she could make it more interesting to them.

"I think it was a grand mock mission," said Dora," another one would be great. I would like to get back into the swing of things." Melanie was doing a great job, Dora thought.

"Great!" Melanie said, clapping her hands on her stomach this time and quickly retracting them. She still couldn't believe she was... she wrinkled her nose a little at the word in her head. " Well... our office partners as our help for a mission on the field. Someone has been bewitching muggle cosmetic products, what do we do first?" she decided to do things a little different this time, she'll add more details as Dora and Piper answered.

"Well, I think it is important to find out whether the products are being bewitched before or after they leave the factory.... I also think that we need to find out where all of these products were sold so we can get an idea of how big an area we are dealing with.. I think it would then be possible to find out whether their were certain witches or wizards within that area that could be responsible" Dora pondered for a moment more... " What exactly are these cosmetics doing to the consumer?" asked Dora. She just noticed that she was concentrating so hard that she was changing her eye and hair color at random, a frequent happening if she was engulfed in work or daydreaming either one. She stopped herself and turned back to it's usual shades of blonde and pink for her hair and sky blue eyes.

Melanie nodded as Dora spoke and chuckled a little when her hair started changing color, she stretched a hand in her direction and messed up her hair, playfully " These cosmetics have labels such as "Hair growing solution" and, what we - the experimental charms office - think that what happen is that they were charmed by a wizard that decided to enhance it's power by using a little made up spell of it's own, that supposedly would really make your hair grow, since all this muggle rubbish doesn't do anything else other than take your money away. Now.. it does work, but the hair doesn't stop growing making everyone that uses it, which are mainly man, look like Rapunzel from muggle tales." she laughed a little at the end, she had just made that one up. " Ah, and the products are bewitched on their ways to the stores, it's a big international one, and there are no wizards around it's area. What should we do, who should we call to help us?"

Piper was quiet as the two girls spoke, she didn't like to interrupt or even be noticed, and as she watched Melanie ruffle the other girls hair, she shrank back a little, almost until she was curled up in a little ball away from the two.
"Well, first we should tell the International board, to let them know what is going on. Then we should attempt to seek out where the trucks are coming from, if they are being bewitched on their way to the store, there must be a witch or wizard, either working for the trucking company, or even driving the trucks..We need to find out who first.. before the why.." She said softly..

Dora noticed the girl shrink back and she seemed rather shy so as she was talking Dora gave her an encouraging smile and nodded," I think you're right, if they are being bewitched on the way to the store we could possibly figure out the who, as you said. I also think that we should get some of the product for inspecting ourselves and figure out what the charm, or possible potion is."

Piper nodded as Dora spoke and she noticed the smile she had given her. She shyly returned one back, though.. it could barely be called a smile. It was more a twist of her upper lip.. but still.. it was more than any stranger had gotten for over two years.. Ever since.. Piper's eyes grew bright with tears, and she looked upwards for a minute.. trying to regain control.. Would she ever get over this?

"Yes, that is a good idea, try to get a product, see what is going on, and perhaps try to get a product that hasn't been enhanced, perhaps see if we can spot a difference, maybe with the bare eye.." She shrugged a bit.

"Very well the both of you" she said smiling happily at both of her employees. She was very happy to see that this little activity was working nicely. " Now maybe we can have a little break and maybe one of you can think of a situation for us to try and figure out how to solve? We can even make it a little game, everyone adds new facts to the plot?" she needed a little break for water, and eating something since now she had to take extra care with her health. She sighed again, that morning she had experienced her first morning sickness and it wasn't funny. She went straight to the Healer and once she told her that the father was halfwerewolf, she said that early morning sickness was due to that, she would experience earlier and more intense pregnancy symptoms.

Dora got up and followed Melanioe out into the corridor, she hoped for a chance to ask her how she was doing. She was a bit concerned after the party had ended so abruptly the other night. was it her imagination or did Melanie look a bit troubled??

Katy walked down from the 1st floor and made her way to the Invisibility Task force and the Commitee on Experimental Charms. Being the new liason, she was still trying to get to know the new division heads. She was already familiar with Melanie Hale, just being invited to her promotion party and all, so she knocked on her door and awaited an answer.

Just returning from the debacle in the corridor Dora was a bit winded and her hair was all over the place. She looked up just as she approached the door into the office and noticed Katy standing there. " 'Lo Katy. Whatcha doin' in our neck of the woods?" Dora said while trying to straighten herself out.

Katy turned from the door to find her friend Dora standing there, "Hey! I didn't know you worked in this division! I'm here just to introduce myself to people, the minister told me to get familiar with each division! I visited here before Melanie became division head, so I had to make another visit! I also wanted to make sure everything was okay after the party. I don't know if it was just me or if there's something going on with Melanie. I don't want to pry though....anyway, how's it all going in this department?"

Katy turned from Dora for a moment, and saw the other division head, "Hey! I'm the new liason for this department, and I wanted to introduce myself! I'm glad we bumped into each other! Good luck with the move in!"

Abigail looked up when she heard the word Liason and THIS department. "Oh, hello," she greeted. Quickly standing up from her desk, she headed back over to the lady that she walked by not even 5 minutes ago. "I'm Abigail Weather. It's a pleasure to meet you," she said with a smile. "Oh, thanks for the good luck. It shouldn't be too hard for me to move in to this new office." She glanced over at her desk for a few moments.

" I just started here this month and I was on the Invisibility Task Force, but as you well know we have joined with Experimetal Charms now, so Melanie is here with me also. Speaking of Melanie....Ummm.... I sort of got the impression that something was wrong as well, but i haven't really had a spare moment to inquire." To smiled warmly at Abigail and said hello to her after she and Katy finished talking.
