Calla returned to the office feeling refreshed. As she pushed open the doors she saw that Abigail was the only one in. Calla walked passed Mel’s desk and the pumpkin let out a very hardy “HAPPY HALLOWEEN”. She wondered how long the enchantment lasts on it, surely until Halloween at least she conlcuded. Calla smiled at Abigail as she sat her things down on her desk, “Hi! How are you doing?”

Melanie re-entered the room. This had been a very busy weekend, her plans with Dora had been suddenly cancelled, and the baby made her feel sick over he weekend.. again, something to do with the full moon.

She looked over and found Calla there " Hello, how are you?" she asked with a smile as she took her seat.

Dora entered the office at a brisk walk. She was still quite sore and her mood hadn't lightened much either. "Hey Mel, sorry about cancelling on you... uh... something came up that I needed to deal with immediately." |She smirked to herself and carefully sat down at her desk. She didn't want to jostle herself too much. She pulled out her notes and began to brood over the fact that she felt as though she had been useless all weekend.

The door creaked open, Calla looked up and saw Melanie. She didn't look like she had slept or felt very well. "I'm doing pretty good. You feeling alright?" Calla tilted her head with a concerned look.

About that time Dora walked in, was she limping? "Hi Dora, you doing alright?"

Dora scowled at her parchment and tried to paste on the best smile she could manage and said to Calla, " I am fine, thanks. And yourself?" It still came out a bit curtly and she cringed internally. For the love of Merlin... when was this foul mood going to pass?

Calla could tell Dora wasn't in the mood for small talk, or any talk. Calla considered not answering Dora back. With Melanie seemingly not feeling well and Dora not in the best mood Calla felt guilty for being good mood. Tone down the peppy she told herself as she had finally decided to answer Dora in a near whisper, "I'm well." She gave Dora a polite, but concerned smile and turned her face back down to her desk.

Calla had found some ads in the Daily Prophet describing some flats in the magical communities that were available for rent. With her father's death in the near future, she thought she'd be able to handle it best if she had her own place. Her mom didn't like the idea, but Calla thought it was about time she moved out. She mindlessly circled a couple flats that looked promising.

Dora sighed and berated herself. Calla is a very sweet girl and Dora felt ashamed for being so snippy with her. Besides, it wasn't her fault that Dora had recently had a horrific experience.

"I am so sorry Calla. I was rude before. I am having a tough time lately. Please forgive me" she mumbled. She kept her eyes on her work as she spoke, too ashamed to meet the sweet girl's eyes.

Calla heard Dora apologize, and could hear something in her voice that almost wanted to make Calla cry. Not because of anything Dora said, but what she didn't say. She could tell something was bothering Dora, something huge but had no idea what. Casually wiping her teary eyes to make sure none were streaking down her face before turning toward Dora she couldn't help but search Dora face with her eyes - looking for something, although she wasn't sure what. Calla replied very softly,"Its ok Dora, no need to apologize. I understand it happens to the best of us. If you need anything..." Calla paused to hopefully imply the seriousness of the gesture, “anything at all let me know. I'll do my very best to help." Calla finished with a very squished sad face. And then, forced a smile and turned back to her flat listings.

Dora met Calla's eyes and said, sincerely, "Thanks, that means a lot." She then lowered her head and shut her eyes. Her body was being torn in two by the turmoil. She needed to get away for a second. Slowly getting up from the desk she said, "I am going to go get s drink of water really quickly, I'll be back." snd she smiled genuinely at Calla and winced as she walked out of the room.

Melanie watched the exchange of words between the two woman blinking absently. When she realised that they had both talked to her as well, she smiled and answered " I'm fine, ruff weekend, full moon you know, the baby doesn't like it, it's always complicated" she pulled her hair back and gazed at Dora. What was happening with her these past days?!

There was no need to respond verbally to Dora, Calla softly smiled back and watched her leave the office. She slowly shook her head and muttered, “Poor girl.”


“Full-moon… baby?” Calla said out loud very confused with a screwed up face. “You’re pregnant with a werewolf?” She paused, “that means Craig is a werewolf – or are you?” Calla had never met anyone pregnant with a werewolf baby!

Ooc: I know Craig is part ww, but Calla doesn’t! LOL!

"Oh!" Melanie exclaimed covering her mouth. Calla didn't know what she was talking about right? " I'm sorry, I forgot, you have no idea what I'm talking about" she said with a crooked smile, reaching down to her bag to grab more papers " I'm pregnant with a ... quarter-werewolf, you could say, Craig's half-werewolf, and apparently the baby has some of his lycaon genetics as well" she smiled reassuringly, she didn't want Calla to be startled by it, or afraid " but it's totally safe, the baby and Craig.. and I've been taking potions, but the baby always seems to heat up during full moon" she caressed her tummy.

Calla was intrigued to say the least. “Wow, I had no idea it was possible to be half werewolf, let alone quarter! I thought it was all or nothing. So, with less of a percentage of werewolf in the blood are the symptoms usually lighter?” Calla couldn’t help but show a serious amount of intrigue, she was leaning so far toward Melanie that her desk was cutting in to her abdomen. Once she realized the pain she corrected her posture and rubbed on the spot.

Mel let out a soft chuckle " Well yes, you could descend from werewolfs too!" she said with a smile " Yes, for example Craig " she said, deciding to calm down Calla's evident curiosity " he's just half, so he doesn't usually transform completely, most of the times he just gets moody, and his eyes change colour.. nothing much really" she said gesturing it away, because it was no big of a deal. She chuckled a little " I couldn't wrap my head around it too at the begining, but ... well, I love them, both!" she added with a smile.

“ahhh” Calla said as she nodded her head unknowingly. “Very interesting!” Calla said as Melanie finished her explanation. Looking down at her ads she asked Melanie, “Do you think that $60 Galleons is too much for a flat that is situated off Diagon Alley? I know my father is going to pass on soon, and I think I would be able to deal with it better if I had a distraction, like moving… Sounds horrible doesn’t it?” Calla sighed, and looked up again at Melanie, and then shifted her eyes towards the door, hoping that Dora was ok.

Dora had calmed herself significantly on the way back up from the cafeteri but her eyes and hair were still flaming red. She stomped into the office and slumped down in her desk still brooding a bit. She had lost her temper with Silas, again and hadn't meant to. It felt as though she had busted open the wound on her arm but she couldn't very well look right now in front of Mel and Calla. Turning to them she said, "Sorry I was gone so long. I ran into Silas in the corridor and we had lunch." HA! Lunch! She had an outburst nearly hexed him and probably caused a scene.

Calla looked up when she heard the door open. Dora had ruby red hair and eyes and although it appeared she was trying to stomp over to her desk it was more like a hobble because of her limp. Why was she limping, and what in the world was upsetting her. Dora's looked very intimidating with her red eyes and hair, Calla thought she must be a Metamorphmagus... Calla smiled politely as Dora explained her long absence. Thought about asking how it was, but then thought better of it and looked down to the paper on her desk. She was not going to engage Dora in any kind of conversation when she had that red hair!

"Well..." Mel said scratching her belly " 60 galleons sounds ok, Diagon Alley makes the price rise a lot, you should be careful with that, why not something further away? Nowadays you can floo and apparate so easily that living far away doesn't really make a difference.. " she was interrupted by Dora's entrance, her head an eyes flaming red, she flinched a little in her chair " or at least to normal people, pregnant ones can find it bothering.. I mean, the baby loathes apparating.. and I can't really blame him, it's not pleasant even for us.." she shrugged and rose from her chair " I'm going off for a minute.." she smiled a crooked smile " pregnancy calls.. or nature, whatever" and left for the ladies room.

“Yea, I could. I’m not a fan of apparating, but floo isn’t too bad. Mmm maybe I’ll look further out. 60 galleons while it isn’t bad, it a little rich for my blood.” Calla sighed and turned the page. She waved Melanie off to the bathroom. As she walked out of the room Calla for the 1st time in days or weeks noticed that Melanie’s tummy, it seemed to have grown over night. She didn’t remember it being that big.

She scanned the ads for something further out. And she realized that if she were going to travel by floo every day she could live anywhere. Her mind went wild with possibilities. As she was thinking about all the options an owl flew in, she recognized it immediately. Dread took over her entire body. The owl belonged to her mom. She took the note, slowly opened it and read it. She didn’t need to though, she knew what it said. She turned the parchment over, wrote her mom back and attached it to Rufus and he took flight.

She moved quickly to gather her things, but it felt like she was in slow motion. “Dora, will you please let Melanie know I’ll be back tomorrow late.” She choked back tears, “My father has passed away. We were expecting it so the funeral arrangements have already been made.” She felt the tears burning down her face. She considered apparating to her mom’s house, but decided her mind wasn’t clear enough to do it.

Calla turned and bolted out the door toward the lifts.

Dora didn't respond to or even acknowledge either woman as they exited the room. She took the moment of privacy to lift the sleeve of her blouse and see the blood running out of her wound. She winced and got up and bolted out of the room.

When Melanie entered the room her face fell. It was empty, she looked around the desks, and noticed something on Dora's. She got closer and saw it was blood. Melanie's stomach flinched, and she walked away with a sigh. Her employee had too much on her mind right now, and spent half the time bolting out for personal matters, and Dora, her friend had some major incidents happening in her life which she was completely oblivious to.

She sighed, and started preparing the report to deliver to Ben with their proposition for the field safety.

After spending a considerable amount of time on that, she gathered her things and went to St. Mungus to another healer consult. She had been having those pretty often lately. She would not return that day.

Dora came into the office feeling much better than she had in weeks. She was still wearing her long and it was tousled and fell down her back. She was rocking out her favorite shades of blond and pink and she was humming a little tune. (Funhouse)

Seeing Mel she said, "Morning boss!" She grinned sheepishly and followed up by saying, "I am really sorry I have been so flaky lately, but I am really working on getting better. I know that we have tons to do."

Calla opened the door and walked directly to her desk. Consumed in her thoughts she was unaware of anyone else being in the room. She looked completely disheveled. Her hair was twisted into a messy bun on the back of her head, her eyes showed she had been crying most of the past 24 hours.

Her father's funeral went very well, it was a beautiful service. Her mum and brother, Merritt, had completely fallen apart during the service which left Calla to take care of the guests. She was finally able to let her self succumb to the grief late into the night after everyone had finally left. She didn’t get much sleep, and when she woke she went into another crying spell. Over breakfast Merritt announced that he was quitting school to get a job and would help mum pay the bills. This lead to a very large and heated discussion between them and it was not helping Calla’s mood. She decided she needed to get out of the house. She got dressed and used the Floo network to come into the office.

She slumped into her desk. Her bag clanked down beside her on the floor, and she bend over to retrieve the Daily Prophet out of it. Calla scanned the paper, but wasn’t actually reading anything.

"' Lo Calla. How are you holding up?" Dora asked with an apologetic smile on her face. She had heard about Calla's dad and was genuinely worried for the girl.

Melanie simple nodded at Dora and turned away finishing her report to Ben. She had left a note on Calla's desk saying simply "I'm sorry for your loss" she got up and went to Ben's office.
