Warren looked at Becca and frowned, "If that were the case I wouldn't be here talking to you. I would be on some decidedly and purposely dangerous mission," his dull blue eyes met Becca's not even flinching at what was implied in his words. Shaking his head he stood up, "Is this what you wanted to talk to me about? My social life or lack thereof? I don't want to meet new people. I happen to like being by myself. I was by myself before she came back and I can do it again." |

Warren watched as Becca crossed her arms and hearing her request looked down at the chair warily before sitting down again. "Forrester is just an idiot who relies one everyone else to save him in a fight," he muttered. He looked back up at her as she spoke and clenched his jaw not answering her question. Even he didn't know what he was doing really. "And your advice is I should go out and meet people..." he scoffed slightly and shook his head, "If you haven't noticed people tend to stay away from me," he ran his finger down the large scar by his temple running down his cheek. |

Warren leaned back in the chair and raised his eyebrow, "Funny...guess you didn't try hard enough," Reaching onto the desk he picked up an oddly shaped item on the desk and fiddled with it, "Forrester is a good Auror but I don't trust him and he's too arrogant." He pulled a loose thread and nearly dropped it in surprise as the thing came to life and tried to bite his hand. Waving his hand over the thing it stilled and he set it carefully back on her desk. "I think you're confusing me with Nathan. I don't meet people. I never have unless I worked with them. I inherently don't like people. They annoy me. And yes...if I could find Alexa I would go get her back. But I can't..." He clenched his fists and looked up at Becca, "I can't find her anywhere. I've looked. She's not using her real name for anything and I have no idea what alias she would be using." |

A small smile appeared on Warren's face at Becca's words and he laughed, "I'll give you that." Setting down the object he sighed and looked at Becca, "It's very hard to be nice to someone you think is a complete idiot. Or who summons you here urgently just to send you home." Hearing her words he shook his head and didn't respond. He didn't want to meet anyone. No one here could help him any so why should he bother. At her words about Alexa he looked up, "I've never been not able to find her....ever." He met her eyes carefully and unclenched his fists. Looking down at his hands he whispered almost inaudibly, "Do you think she's coming back?" |

Warren sighed and looked at Becca, "You know...I don't do anything to make him mad...well with the exception of today I'm sure. I do my job. But I'm not about to bend to his every whim just to please him. I've never done that. He even tried to get her not to go...." he trailed off and sighed. As he heard her words he looked at her again and shook his head, "No..she hasn't...she left me remember. I proposed and she left. Simple and painful. This wasn't how this was supposed to go..." He trailed off and looked at his hands again no he didn't want to talk...talking let to memories...memories led to..well his depleted stock of firewhiskey. |

Warren raised his eyebrow and smirked, "I don't think it was me to be honest. But I'm sure I didn't help any. I need something to do." As she started talking about Alexa his smile left. He knew she was right. That's exactly what he had done though not completely. The proposal was heart felt and not for the exact reason Becca said. "I didn't do it to get her to stay...I did it so I knew she would come back...." he stared at the desk not really seeing it. "I've left her three times...did you know that?" he asked as he met her eyes. "The first was after I found my father's killer...someone I had cared for. The second was from Russia when I had people chasing me, that went on for years. The third was here..." He clenched his jaw and fiddled with his wand in his pocket. "I just wish she would come back. If this is how it feels I'll never do it again, I swear." Feeling suddenly overwhelmed he stood and muttered, "I think I need some air." Looking at Becca he ducked his head in a nod before heading out the door. He said too much. Gah why did Becca always get him to say stuff. Even Egypt couldn't do that. Groaning and running a hand over the back of his neck he headed down toward the cafeteria. |

About twenty minutes later, she appeared in the room again with a box and left it on the table in the middle of the room. Placing a piece of parchment by the box, she read it. Quote:
|
The pair of shoes rattled a little in the box. A lace snaked it's way out of it's confines under a few of the other objects and peeked out the top of the box. It looked around for a bit..." A perfectly folded paper airplane lay on it's side at the bottom of the box. It fluttered a little, but couldn't shake off more than a couple of Legos. The remote was still on top of it and didn't seem to want to budge. |
As the paper airplane moved underneath it, the remote control stretched its legs, preparing to stand up. Slowly, the remote maneuvered its feet until they lay flat on top of the paper airplane. It stood up sharply, leaving tiny creases in the paper airplane and jumped out of the box. It was free! The remote looked around the room. Too bad, there wasn't anyone here. At the bottom of the box, a small, round, four-legged coffee table shifted uncomfortably. All the other objects were placed on top of it and it wanted to get out of the box. Unfortunately, the spade had been lain point down on the table's surface. It was annoying. |
The spade that was laid point down on the small ornamental table and leant against the side of the box flexed it's legs and then realised the table must be uncomfortable. Moving quickly, it then joined the lace in peering over the sides of the box. Twitching uncomfortably, the cushion tried to push the spade off it and failed miserably. Still trying to push the spade off, it nudged the coffee table accidentally. |
Some lego pieces fell into a corner of the box due to the airplane shaking. Another piece of lego starting shaking and moved to join the two other pieces, whiched mounted each other. Other pieces of lego came joining and assembled themself to form a small man sturture which began to run all around the box, knocking the spade and stepping on the airplane. It was time to escape! So the lego pieces formed a staircase for the stuff to climb out free from the box. |
The shoes hopped out of the box with a good jump and started to wander around the table they were on. Deciding the joint was a bore, they promptly hopped off of the table and started for the door. This place had to have somewhere interesting to go, right? It was free! The plane was now free to zip out of the box! It stretched it's wings and noticed they were a little crinkled. It flapped it's wings angrily and caught the gust of the shoes hopping out so that it could get up into the air. |
The lego puzzle assembled again, this time talking the form of two airplane. If they needed to get down from the table they were at they needed to at least get some wings. The lego airplanes rolled down the table and as soon as they were out of the edge, the airplanes fell and broke on the ground. The pieces assembled again this time in the form of boot and starting hopping up and down till they were out of the office. |
Falling as the lego man knocked it over, the spade landed on the coffee table again. It scrambled to it's feet again and used the cushion to get out of the box. It looked around and then hid behind the box before waiting to see if anyone was around. Now the cushion was stuck. The sides of the box were a little too high for it to get out of easily. As it tried to think of a way to get out of the box, it laid on the coffee table. |
The remote control watched as the plane, legos and shoes left the empty room. It followed them readily, landing on its spindly legs after jumping off the table. Time to find some humans! Oh this was going to be fun! The table felt the spade get up and immediately felt better. The cushion was still on top of it, but it didn't mind. As most of the other objects jumped out of the box, the table moved one of its legs and nudged the side of the box. The box fell onto its side and the table slid out onto the table. It hooked its foot on the edge of the table top and pulled itself upright before jumping off the table to the floor. |
The plane started zipping around the room, pecking at anything that looked unstable. Jars, mugs, papers. Anything was fair game for this devilish little plane. It caught the air currents in the room as it flew around, dipping down and zooming up all over the room. It was as if it wanted to be caught. |
Stephan stuck his head inside the office, and ducked immediately as a paper plane darted towards his head. "Urgh...WAAH!...anyone...uh m-misp-place there sh-shoes?" Stephan asked as he darted around the room, running from the plane and holding the shoes up high. He got to an area where he could stand still. "Apha's immobilised them for now. They were running around the Law Enforcement offices. Thought i'd bring them back." |
The shoes dangled in Stephan's hands. Inside they were thinking about how rude it was to stop them like that! Now they were but a simple pair of sneakers. So sad, so sad. The plane saw Stephan walk in and zipped right for him. It flew around him, up and down, round and round, trying to get him to drop the shoes. It even started to peck at him with it's pointed front! This airplane was one persistent bugger. |
Seeing the shoes got caught, the spade jumped off the table and started to tap at the guys feet. Poking him with the point of the spade head, it hoped the guy would drop the shoes. As the table got out of the box, the cushion managed to stay on top of it. But when the table jumped to the floor, the cushion slipped off and landed on the floor. Standing up unsteadily, it moved a little and started to walk slowly. This room was totally boring. Now starting to move faster, it slipped past the guy who was being 'attacked' and started to wander down the corridor. |
