Siobhan, against her will, of course, was actually quite impressed by Chris's last statement. Had she been a normal person, she would have smiled at him and complimented him, especially considering the comment she had just made. However, since she was Siobhan and not a normal person, she simply nodded briefly in acknowledgment before speaking again. "Chris brings up a good point." It looked as though it pained her to admit this. "We should consider someone with knowledge of law enforcement. Maybe someone who used to work in the Ministry, perhaps even former law enforcement. Do you have a list?"

Chris had to admit he was very Taken back as she had said he brung up a good point. He had to tear his eyes away from her so that he wouldn't look rude just staring at her stupidly. It was his turn to wear the smirk now. He now felt confident that this women's hard shell could at least be cracked. He didn't want her to go back into her mood so he quickly made his face expressionless and looked back to Nicoli waiting for his answer.

If he’s this good about not leaving tracks, he most likely hasn’t been caught before.” She knew she was being presumptuous and pretty much taking over, but that’s how she worked and if Nicoli couldn’t or refused to handle that, that was just too bad for him.

Good. At least this was working. Woman-management at it's best. Nicoli nodded to her, letting her take control-if only for a brief moment. He would let her have her moment, and no doubt her opinion would be valuable. Nicoli nodded, "It is a bit late to trace them with leaves the gossiping as a last resort. The thief was extremely good at his or her job."

Nicoli then looked at the both of them, "The most important people to talk to would be the shop keepers themselves, but of course, if you can talk to a witch with a running mouth...it'll be even better." He did not reply to her last statement, he'd thought that much was obvious.

To his surprise, Chris answered for him at Siobhan's last statement. What a beautiful partnership. Nicoli resisted the urge to smirk, it was difficult to say the least. "True," Nicoli replied, scratching his chin, "it is possible that that would be the case. I hadn't thought of that. This means that we'll have to work in unusual ways to deal with him or her. It's also possible that we're dealing with a group of highly skilled thieves."

"Mmm. That's yet another lead. Though, since this is my first term of post, I don't. However, we could get a list from Syd..." Now, who is going to go get it? If he gave the job to Siobhan, she'd take too much authority and Chris needed some more grounding. He was somewhat unwilling to leave them alone, as he had done with the MLES so he decided to leave it in the balance. First come, first serve. He had to admit, the two of them made a strong team, but when Aaron comes back, that might be compromised. He'd have to work on that.

Siobhan glanced at Chris as she spoke. She raised an eyebrow. Is he smirking, she thought to herself. He’d better not be smirking at me. She decided to let it pass for the time being as she wanted to get started.

As Nicoli started speaking, Siobhan belatedly realized she wasn’t even taking notes. Quietly and cautiously, so she didn’t interrupt Nicoli, she dug into her bag and pulled out a piece of parchment and a quick notes quill. Fortunately, they had become far more reliable since the days of Rita Skeeter. The quill started writing immediately, and Siobhan was once again at ease. “Can you give us a list of the specific shops that have been targeted? That way, we’ll know who to talk to. That and it may bring up a pattern of sorts.” Yes, Siobhan loved her lists.

Siobhan nodded at the possibility of a group of thieves. “Quite possible, Sir, but I was thinking, wouldn’t that be a bit harder to conceal. I mean, true, we have disillusionment charms, but mostly they shield us from muggles. I would think, hope actually, that anyone who’s graduated from some institute of magic would have the ability to at least see sharp movements, if they weren’t able to see through it. That, and, well, more people equals a greater probability of someone bumping into the unwittingly.” She paused, quite pleased with herself. She was trying to think this through as much as possible.

“I’ll go get it”, she said, practically jumping out of her seat in the process. She had to be the one to get it as she wanted it a certain way or else she’d go nuts. Besides, she hadn’t met this Syd yet. She looked at Chris. “As long as you don’t mind”, finally showing at least a semblance of humanity. This illusion was quickly shattered though as she didn’t even wait for his answer before briskly walking out the door.

I'd ..." he began to answer to Nicoli but was cut off by siobhan. "Umm I..." he began but was again cut off by her. Whether he would have liked to go retrieve the list or not she was already headed out the door. He looked a little stunned for a moment but quickly recovered.

"So umm..." he began clearing his throat he began turning toward Nicoli. "Very nice women." He said sarcastically. "No but really, she is sort of right. It would really be hard working in groups of people with out us knowing who they are. But it doesn't mean there aren't more than one/ It could be a person working for or with another person. Each taking on different tasks at different times so tht they couldn't get caught so easily." He replied trying to help get some good information in. He sat quietly waiting for Nicoli answer but also fo Siobhan to get back with the list because then there might not be a chance to voice his opinion.

Nicoli forced his eyebrows to remain in place and Siobhan pulled out a quick-notes quill. He hated those things, even at the best of times they tended to be a little bit bias. "Well really, all we know of is the shops in this file," he said tapping the blue folder in front of him. "The reports are..'trash' but at least we can tell which shops were hit-and noticed. If you want to make a list of them you can." This one and her lists.

"Hmm. Good point, but there's also the possibly of an invisibility cloak, they are extremely rare, but it's a option. As well as pure luck. It does not necessarily mean they all went in, maybe someone acted as a customer to distract the shop keeper, and protect the invisible person in question. And then they would need some form of getaway...even if it is apparation."

Nicoli sighed. That girl was bound to end up in some conflict or another yet again. Hopefully she wouldn't rub the Head the wrong way, but of course, that would be unlikely. Nicoli burst into a fit of good hearted laughter. He needed that. "Quite," he said grinning from ear to ear at Chris. That was perfectly timed.

"True, true," he needed to swivel around he his chair, it would help him think better, but he decided instead to rise and walk towards a window, his eyes towards the ground, almost closed and head bowed. After a long moment, "So Chris, what do you think? Was it a professional thief, a talented, hard working wizard who can't make ends meet, a group of people?" At the moment, it could be any of them. They would have to investigate. Or better, catch the culprit.

Chris took in a deep breath and thought about the question. He sat there for moment concentrating hard befor starting. "Honestly I think it's more than one person..." He began "But." He said sitting up Straighter. "I think it's a few little people working for a more powerful one so to speak." It was all to organized someone had to be the brains of the operations and with more than one opionins firing all over the place it would be hard to keep it together.

Chris leaned back in his chair while thinking about the situation. He had forgotten about Siobah leaving for a moment. "Hmm I wonders what's taking so long... You think she rubbed him the wrong way?" He said with a sly grin on his face. Maybe he should had gone to get the list instead of her

Nicoli stared out of the window, absorbing Chris' words. They made sense. Of course they did. He was glad Chris was here, he made it a lot easier for him. Especially with his brain as frozen as it was. This would be the most likey case wouldn't it? "I think you're right..." he said turning around slowly to face him, "A sort of master-mind character that almost all of the profits will go to."

Nicoli leaned against the window sill, the magical sky outside bright and shinning through. "But then...what would his-or her-motives be? And for that matter, what about the master-mind's...uh...cronies?" Was there an explanation beyond the basic feelings of greed, desperation, craving? Nicoli picked up a piece of parchment, and jotted down those words, then faltering, "Did they have something against the shopkeepers themselves?" Hidden Agenda. Hmm.

"What's that?" Nicoli had been lost in his thoughts once again, but now that Chris mentioned it...Siobhan had been gone a long time. "Almost definitely," he said sighing slightly. Would he now have to go looking for her?

Aaron walked back into the Hit Wizard station and sat down at his desk, the mission had been successful but he didn't feel that he had helped out enough.

Siobhan walked back in, muttering to herself. She looked up then, and started walking over to Nicoli. "This Syd person is not helpful at all", she said disgustedly. Of all the nerve... "He says he does not have this information and that we should go to each Department Head to get a list of disgruntled employees. Either the man is quite stupid or lazy, either of which I do not approve of." A quick glance around told her Aaron had returned. "Oh, you're back", she snapped at him, for no other reason that she was generally irritated.

Aaron looked up as Siobhan walked into the office and started ranting to Nicoli, Aaron wondered if this women had any friends at all, it would probably be safer to befriend a blast ended skrewt, just then Siobhan talked to him, Aaron had to bite back his first thought and ended up saying 'yes I'm back'.

Siobhan was quite surprised when Aaron didn't retort with sharp words the way she expected him to. She ran her hand through her hair and sighed. Perhaps she should try this "small talk" thing. She wasn't going to get much done until they could figure out a way to get that list anyways and she didn't feel like sitting there uselessly doing nothing until then. "How was it then", she asked aaron evenly.

Nicoli frowned deeply. "You have a problem with authority, you know that?" and he'd been feeling good about things. "He is your department head. If you didn't realize, that's a hard job. He probably didn't have the list, so we'll have to do without it. Honestly, it doesn't matter if we have the list, in any case it'll take longer to track down each of the so called 'disgruntled' employees than it would to just go after the hard facts."

That was a little out of character, but this woman was getting on his nerves. Where did she get off acting all high and mighty? What? Nicoli spun around, a rather difficult feat while one is leaning against a window sill, and smiled at Aaron. So they're all back then? Including Forrester?

Aaron smiled at Nicoli before answering "No he didn't work me to hard at all, I'm very grateful for the experience it has given me, i only hope next time i can be more involved." Aaron yawned before going on "did i miss anything while i was gone?"

"That's fantastic!" Forrester's going well with his missions. And here Nicoli was, not even one case wrapped up. Brilliant. But mopping about it wasn't going to get him anywhere. He had to stick his face in the sand. Nicoli nodded understandingly, one would hope to have an intense experience on an Auror mission. He was almost disappointed that he hadn't gone too.

"Well," he said glancing down at the parchment he'd been scribbling on earlier. "We're looking for a sort of master criminal, which could well be a group of thieves stealing gold from shops in Hogsmeade," he said putting it simply. "We were trying to get the facts worked out...but at this time nothing's certain. I think we may need to go out collecting information in Hogsmeade."

Nicoli looked at the Hit Wizards that surrounded him. "We'll split the shops in Hogsmeade into four, and...ah...mingle. Get some information on how the robberies work, and perhaps we'll be lucky to get a clear picture." Nicoli smiled at Aaron, only too aware at how tired he'll be at the moment. It couldn't be helped. "We'll join up at Honeydukes around dusk and see what we've come up with."

It wasn't Nicoli's style to issue orders without having everyone's take on things, but he needed to do it to get things moving. "Here's the list of shops you'll be doing rounds on." With that, he handed out three pieces of parchment and kept his for himself. "Let's go, then shall we?"

Aaron listened to Nicoli talk about the new mission and wondered why people had to steal, they were always caught in the end. before leaving Aaron popped two muggle caffeine pills and swallowed them down with his coke, he then stood up and apparated to hogsmeade.

Eric took the list Determined. This was his first mission in this department and he wanted to make a good impression. He nooded towards everyone "Until dawn" He said to everone before apparating to the crime scenes.

Nicoli strode into the HW office waiting for the others to get back. He needed to keep them busy. Ironic he had no problems of that sort with the MLES. At least he could use them on this case, even though it wasn't really their job description, the more chances you get...

Siobhan walked in, refreshed. She had gotten some real coffee and taken a shower. She walked over to Nicoli and leaned against a desk next to him. "So, did he confess", she asked, speaking about the robbery guy of course. She was sort of out of the loop on that one ever since she left the scene. She stretched out briefly and stared at her fingernails. Yes, it was definitely time for a touch-up on that manicure.

Nicoli smirked slightly. Who would have thought Siobhan would have been the first one back? "Not yet," Nicoli replied somewhat shamefaced, "He's maintaining his innocence. He's under the impression that we aren't completely sure it was him that we saw." It was sad really, how some people reacted to the circumstances..."He doesn't understand that the minute he came into view...it was obvious. He had the look of a guilty man in his eyes..." Nicoli finished.

This may have been a little too much information to be sure. "But for now, we have to deal with a case that may be a little harder to crack..." Nicoli slipped into his seat behind his slightly smaller desk to that in the MLES office and leaned backwards in his chair preparing to collect his thoughts. This case was a strange one. The kind of case no one wishes for on their first day.

Shrugging out of his tan jacket, Jake walked into the Hit Wizard station, his dark green eyes scanning his surroundings inquisitively. Holding his recently removed jacket tightly in his left hand, he spotted two people already here.

Nodding at them, he approached them cautiously, and slightly nervously. 'Sorry to interrupt,' he apologised before he started. 'But . . . I've just started here and was wondering what I should be doing.' He shoved his free hand into his jeans pocket nervously.

Nicoli smiled warmly as yet another hit wizard joined the club. "Hey there, mate. I'm Nicoli, your division head. You're just in time for our next mission. Don't worry about a thing. I'll brief you all as soon as there are more people in here," Nicoli said in one go. Hardly stopped all day, so why should his speech be any different? His azure eyes glittered slightly, as did his smile.

Nodding at Nicoli, Jake couldn't help but think, Lucky me! at the mention of being in time for their next mission. Pushing the thoughts aside, he swallowed. 'Nice to meet you, Nicoli. I'm Jake Samuels,' he introduced himself, before glancing around the office, the fingers around his jacket tightening slightly.

Forcing himself to relax his hand, he waited for the others Nicoli obviously expected to arrive.

Siobhan gave a huff of annoyance as the new guy walked in. She wasn't really sure why she was annoyed all of a sudden, but she was. She rolled her eyes as they spoke noticing the nervousness of the new guy. Oh great, not another one, she thought to herself. "So, what is this mission", she asked firmly. She didn't feel like waiting for the others. After all, it wasn't her fault they were taking their sweet time.

"Same to you," Nicoli replied to Jake. There's a name he'd forgotten. At least he got here in time. Nicoli frowned slightly at Siobhan's tone, but obliged. "First things first. The Minister's wedding is coming up soon and we'll be security for it," Nicoli said glancing at Siobhan. She'd have something to say about that. "You're going to be working with the MLES and Aurors to keep everything running smoothly. It's taking place at the ministry and we all have to wear uniforms of black and purple. I'll have a selection ready before we head out that you can pick from. Attendance, is mandatory," Nicoli glanced at Siobhan again.

He walked to a wall and conjured up a blown up picture of a witch and a wizard standing hand in hand and mumbling to each other. "This, is Headmistress Cassandra Rae and her husband Doyle Braxton. They are to be kept as far from the wedding as possible, and cannot be let in under any circumstances as the Minister would not like to see them. Rae, was once a Auror." That should get some juices flowing.
