| | Reagan Taylor Campaign Headquarters Just outside of Diagon Alley, a few empty, yet well kept shops sit all in a row along the street. The very last shop in the row has recently been rented out, and a sign now hangs above the door that reads: Quote: REAGAN FOR MINISTER!
OFFICIAL REAGAN TAYLOR CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS
Inside, you find a number of desks and filing cabinets, with a number of potted plants thrown in here and there to make the place seem a little more calm and tranquil. There is a huge bulletin board right next to the door, with notices on who is helping to plan the campaign, important dates, and plenty of other information. There are memos flying overhead all over the place--this is clearly a very busy office!
Come on in and show your support for Miss Taylor in her campaign to overthrow Cooper! There's a small plaque sitting on each of the first three desks nearest to the doors--if you need help, I'd suggest asking one of these three Ministry employees first: Quote: Benjamin Peter Cobblesten
CAMPAIGN MANAGER Quote: Samantha Rose
RESEARCH AND SPEECH WRITING CHAIR Quote: Brian Lee
ADVERTISING CHAIR OOC note: You should NOT be posting in this thread unless you're a member of the Taylor Campaign! If you'd like to sign up, go here or here. If you're a Diagon Alley or Daily Prophet employee, please sign up here.
Other rules when RPing in this thread:
1. NO CHATTING. This thread is for the RPing of planning and plotting for Reagan's campaign, not a place for employees to just chill on their break and chit chat about the weather. There are plenty of other places in the Ministry for you to go RP your leisure time, but this is not one of them.
2. Myself (Miss Lissy Lou), mathi, and Slytherin Fox will be leading the discussions in this thread. Feel free to contribute any ideas you have, large or small, to our planning and if you have any questions, please PM one of us and we'll be able to help you out! :]
3. OOC notes are the bane of my existance. They're supposed to be used for clarifying the meaning of someone's post, not for saying "Ok, going to bed! Nightttt!" or anything of that matter. If you have to leave in the middle of an RP and you think you need to tell us, just drop us a PM or poke us on MSN Obviously if you feel an OOC note is really necessary go for it, I just hate seeing goodbye messages every five posts xD
4. Obviously, follow all SS rules when posting in here and keep things appropriate, yo NO REAL LIFE POLITICS ARE TO BE DISCUSSED AT ANY TIME. And, since I know you obviously must not like Cooper very much you can trash talk but let's keep it nice, k? Cause a real person DOES RP him you know ;P |

Egypt had been looked after very well by her fellow ministry workers. He knew Samantha had helped but was unsure who else had been present. He just wished he could have been with her during that time. He had been with her at the hospital but she needed him then.
He nodded. “Yeah. I'm a little nervous I must admit. I've never done anything like this before. What are you working on?” He asked conversationally. Quote:

Shuffling closer to Brian's table, Rico looked up to check out what advertisements he had already been working on. Of course the word 'Daily Prophet' caught his attention and he nodded in appreciation at the ads.
"Those look pretty nice, really," he muttered as he admired the second ad in particular. "Hwhat? Yeah, I work at the Prophet with Nathan," Rico nodded toward his coworker and then blinked at the Brian's suggestion.
"You want me to take these to my editors and ask them to put it in the Prophet? Hehehhh." He chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck with one hand. Enrico was certainly enthusiastic about Taylor's campaign but he was also very aware of the fact that one of his bosses was married to the current minister, the man they were trying to un-elect, and he had a bad feeling the other two wouldn't be very supportive of such a suggestion.
Especially not Spidergetti - Rico was just shuddering on the inside at the thought. "Tell ya what, Brian - can I call you Brian? How about Bri? Does anyone call you Bri?" Rico's brown eyes twinkled as he was just joking but he managed to keep a straight face. "I really think you should have a little sit-down with the ladies at the Daily Prophet - you said you were ready for that, right? I mean, they might need a little persuading and since you're in charge of all of us," Rico gestured toward the like two other ad people there, "I think you are the best man for the job. Really." Nathan chuckled. “Too bad that, mate.” Poor old Rico had got a right old verbal spanking for napping at his desk. You couldn't even escape to the breakroom in that place if you were struggling to keep your eyes open – not unless you wanted to be consumed by the spring ridden sofa.
As Rico gestured at him, Nathan nodded politely at the man – Brian? And extended his hand in greeting. “Nathan Greenwood. Pleased to meet you.” He said warmly.
He continued to study the posters listening to the banter between Rico and Brian. It seem Enrico was one step ahead of the game here. It hadn't even occurred to Nathan that the current Minister's wife was their big bad boss – he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer was Nathan. Even more to the point, was the fact that they would need to go through Getti and/or Mona about getting the ad in the paper in the first place! He gulped at the mere thought of this . “My colleague here has a point.” Nathan chipped in, his eyes filling with genuine dread and fear at the prospect. “Surely this would be better coming from the person in charge – er, you know... you?” He scratched the back of his head nervously. “They're more likely to listen to someone of... of significance.” hah! Flattery will get you everywhere... maybe.

Brian nodded with a smile both at Nathan who got assigned in advertising area and Samantha a nice lady who's in charge of speech. "Oh..thank you guys, but I feel It should be much better.." he said, as he looking at the banners. Ms. Reagan Taylor looked confident in those banners. He smiled to himself before got distracted by the Prophet guy.
"Thank you Mr. Enrico. No no..I'm just fine with Brian and nobody has never ever came up with that much weird name...." He laughed, the prophet guy is funny seriously, No wonder he's working in Daily Prophet. "Um.." he scratched his chin as he looked up at him, "Can I call you Enri or just Ri for short if you allow me?" he asked casually as he gave his own laughing medicine back to him. Oh come on..two can play this game. But wait, was he unwilling to go to his boss or something afraid of the ladies?! He had no clue. But the result was nothing. He waved his hand as he was trying clarify certain things about his stand, "Well..I don't know I've that much charm to persuade them, " he chuckled, "anyway thank you for the compliment again..and..I wont mind to do that.." he said confidently.
"Minsiter's wife or not, business is business. If they do not accept it, we can play differently, " he said as he tucked his hands into the pockets. Not wanting to make the prophet guy more uneasy he asked in lighter vein, "Could you give us some hint about them atleast?" His attention was on Ben now totally after he said a warm "Thanks,I'll try do even better next time" he said to both Ben and the guy named Jack. "If any one could come up with some caricature it would be fine" he turned and said to both Nathan and Enrico who were also in the advertising committee. He had no idea about the two other assigned persons. Hmm..
Ben was on business now. An experienced and quite an older guy than Brian. Brian took his seat back, listening his small speech. He patiently taking his words in his mind until he finish it. "Excuse me Ben, I've an idea. when we speaking of the speech materials, I guess Ms. Reagan's presence is important here at the time of discussion at least for a while. We do need to know her thoughts before we finalise anything." He crossed his arms across his chest and continued, "It will save our time and energy. Just a thought," he suggested.

Madison made her way down to the campaign headquarters. As soon as she opened the door, her eyes fell upon new members, some she recognized while others were new and fresh faces. This was a wonderful way to meet new people and to know other members within the Ministry. She smiled as she entered the room to find out what position she could help out with.
"Good day," she said as she caught the tail end of a request with thoughts everyone had for the campaign. Well, at least someone was thinking properly and had answered before she had time to speak. Having Reagan here to gather her points of view would work out well, but using advertisement in the Daily Prophet with little missy in control was not a good thing. There had to be a way around that.

| curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog Ben leaned his tall frame against his desk and tapped his finger on his chin. Enrico and the other Daily Prophet employee, Nathan Greenwood, if he remembered correctly, both seemed a little more than hesitant about bringing the flyer to the newspaper. Sure, there were a few intimidating employees there--umm, HELLO, Mona Quigley worked there and that woman was SCARY--but what about freedom of the press?
"Since there is obviously something preventing you from wanting to bring these flyers to the press, please spill and let me know what it is," Ben said, blue eyes staring down on Nathan and Enrico. "I'll be willing to go to the Prophet and try to get them passed myself if no one else is willing to," he added. Mona Quigley didn't scare him THAT much. In fact, he was pretty positive that he just got on her nerves, although her reactions to his lovely origami figures might have changed no that she was a big boss lady over at that paper.
"Oh, good idea Brian!" Ben said with a grin. Why hadn't he thought of that earlier? It only made sense to bring Reagan in here, just for the first few hours of planning so she could get a general feeling about their attack plan and make any changes to the general outline if she wanted. "I'll send her a memo right now," he added.
Reaching onto his desk, he grabbed a notepad and quill and quickly scribbled a note to her. Once he was finished, he crumpled it up into a little origami swan and waved his wand, charming it to magically levitate like all the others. One more flick, and the swan zoomed out the door via the tiny window over the door. "I asked her if she could spare a moment to come down here...she is a very busy woman and if she can't make it down, I'll go to her office and give her a quick briefing within the next day or two so we can keep things moving." he said.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sloane W. Fordyce First Year | Cheesy Mac Reagan had been only one block from her campaign headquarters when an origami swan flew right into her forehead. Rubbing the area with one hand, Reagan continued her walk toward the door with swan in the other hand. Before opening the door, she stood outside to read the memo, which coincidentally enough requested her presence at headquarters. Ahhh, already she and her team were so in sync!
Attempting to refold the swan manually and giving up after failing miserably, Reagan stuffed the memo into her briefcase and opened the door to her campaign's headquarters. With a smile and soft laughter, she announced, "Look at all you busy worker bees!"

"Can I just paint?" she wanted to ask. Instead, she admired the little swan Benjamin had made, her mouth forming a little O in awe. "Ohhh, can I get one of those?" she absentmindedly asked.
Just then, the Queen Bee herself strolled in. Bella wondered if she should get up and salute or something, but no one else appeared to be doing so, so Bella refrained. His attention was on Ben now totally after he said a warm "Thanks,I'll try do even better next time" he said to both Ben and the guy named Jack.
Mr. Enrico, now that was a new name, Rico thought curiously. "Actually Bri, you can just call me Rico," he chuckled back at the guy. He seemed pretty good-natured at least.
"A hint about the bosses..." Rico rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "You'll probably be dealing with Miss Getti Forde....soo I suggest you tread carefully. Or have a flask of firewhiskey in your pocket."
He shook his head, still laughing to himself. Hopefully Brian wouldn't mention to Getti that both Nathan AND Rico were helping campaign against Cooper...after all, Nathan at least had a family to support and definitely couldn't afford to lose his job. But surely GettiMona wouldn't be that evil, would they? Could they?
Rico really didn't want to find out. He liked the sound of Ms. Taylor coming in to talk instead. "I really like that idea," he said quickly, trying to seem positive so the Cobblehead man wouldn't yell at him again. "You seem to have a lot of good ideas, Bri." Heheeh he was going to have fun with that nickname. Quote:

But noooo never mind, Cobblehead wanted to be very hands-on. "By all means, be my guest," he shrugged at the guy. "I mean, Bri here wanted to but," he tried to smile a little. Oi this man was intimidating too - it had to be the freaky blue eyes. "But if you really want to make a statement, please swing by the Prophet. We've got a wonderful break room if you do stop in."
Riiiiiiiiight...one stop there and maybe he'll understand.... Quote:

Rico didn't even know what to say - why, she was going to be the next Minister. He was sure of it. And he was just a lil worker bee trying to avoid being squashed by the people in charge. Ah, life.

Brian shook his hand to Nathan the another Daily Prohet employee. He seemed more calmer than the other guy Enrico. "Nice to meet you Mr. Nathan, " he spoke to him, "I hope you can help us with this caricatures. You see I'm not familiar with that..not even one percent." He smiled at him before teasing Becca.
"Mhm, then you should wear a invisibility cloak or something..for keeping me focus on the Work," he smirked and laughed mildly only to hear Becca, not giving any inconvenience to others. She was so refreshing. Seeing her itself a great pleasure for him.
Ben's voice brought him back to earth again. "No..no Ben, since you have lotta works in hand, I'm all willing to go and deal this Daily Prophet issue..postively, I hope. After all what's the harm in it to give a shot?. " he said, staying positive on that issue. Actually he was so excited to see them after all the hypes. Meanwhile Ben was sending a message to Reagan as per he suggested. He smiled at Ben, "She'll be here soon, I know her.." he said, shifting his position and talked to Ben again, "Well..Ben, we do need a sign too. A star or eagle or something like that.." he had some ideas about the signs in his mind already but he decided to give a chance to others to voice their views and ideas.
Gah! This's guys is never going to give up with this funny name. Brian shook his head as the prophet guy called him Bri. It sounds like a brand of cookie of something. Sigh. Brian coughed, decided to play along with him as he raised his brow at him, "Honestly, I cant wait to see them in person Enri.." he ran his hand through his hair, unaware of making it more messier that it was.
And he grinned as he complimented him. "Well, sometime..my brain works overtime.." he said casually with a mild laugh, his hands went over the head to stretch up.
It was her. He knew her voice. And yes he was right, hundred percent. He waved as Reagan entered the room, "Hi Rea.." he stopped, "Ms. Reagan," he addressed her differently. Ofcourse he had worked with her a while back but now she was contesting for the minister and they were standing in the room full of people. "Then we can call you our Queen bee, right?" he asked with a smile.

Samantha stood up as she saw Reagan enter the room. "Good morning, Ms. Taylor," she said, using the more formal title since she saw that everyone else was doing this and it seemed the more proper form of address in this setting. "It's wonderful to have you here, and to have so many volunteers turn out who want to work for you. We're all just kind of working together right now, gathering what we need to make sure you are elected as our next Minister of Magic, as you can see. And Ben is doing a wonderful, absolutely amazing job, as I think you will see for yourself."
Samantha turned to the volunteers. "As many of you know, I am Samantha Rose, Head of the Department of Magical Education, but I'm also Ms. Taylor's Head Speech Writer as well as her Head of Research. A lot of you are here to help plan with me on these two things, and I really need your input so that I might be able to prepare the proper speeches we need for this campaign. There isn't a whole lot of time, so we need to get moving on this right away." She smiled. "So, let's get the suggestions and ideas coming. Also, a slogan for the campaign, any thoughts on that? These things are very key in times of election, as well."

When Nathan came here he thought this was voluntary work. He didn't think his actual place of work would come into play here. “Urm..” He started. Maybe they could sneak the ad into the paper when the bosses weren't watching. They were the Layout team after all. They were the last people to see the paper before it went to press. “It's just, you know, work and politics should never mix. It would be better coming from a neutral source and not actual Daily Prophet employees.” He said trying to sound confident in his own words. He looked at Rico... at least he had a ally here... and then back at Ben. Quote:

He listened to Rico's advice and chuckled. A flask of firewhiskey? Rico, it seemed, was a man after Nathan's own heart.

Brian watched Samantha too addressed everyone with her lil speech. He stood up and looking at the volunteers once she finished. " Well..I hope you know me already as I introduced myself before," he paused, tucking his hands back into his pocket, "So..I'm all ears for your opinions and ideas..etc.." he said in a pretty casual tone, "Advertising committee people can present their stuffs. I already recieved Ms. Julia's work already..eventhough she's not yet assigned here, " he looked at Julia with such a hope.
His attention turned to Nathan as he looked bit scared. Why was that?! Oh..he misunderstood Brian's words. Brian shook his head, "No..Nathan, I was not asking the caricatures of your bosses, I asked a general election carricatures.." he smiled, hoping he was explained it well this time.

Andrina kept her place near the back of the room, she didn't know.. well anyone besides Ben of course. And that was only because he was the head of her division. She twisted her delicate silver bracelet on her wrist as Reagan herself walked in. She got very nervous and tried not to freak out. Goodness, it would be so much better if I was invisible..or with Thomas..She thought absently, at least with him she felt wanted or needed.. Here she felt out of place. She noticed Samantha speaking and she tried to pay attention. Slogan campaigns? This could be fun.. but I don't have any at the moment... A vote for Reagan Taylor is a vote for change??? Why do I feel like that has been done before? She sighed..

Brian sat back on his chair, spoke to Ben as he suggested something about the Prophet ladies. He had to admit that Ben had more experience than him. But he wanted to get experience like him. And he didnt want to miss this good chance. "I totaly agree with you Ben. I know it seems bit difficult by all these informations we gathered about them. But still..Yeah I hope to finish that process successfully. Just let me try to my level best.." he smiled at him, curiously.
"And for the slogan part..how about these?"..he asked and listed out on the parchment.. Quote: All the way with RT Together, Fight for Change In Your Heart, You Know She's right Enough is enough Then he turned to Becca, "Sure, in my next visit to DA.." he laughed.

Garry knew absolutley nobody , not that it overly bothered him, it was just apparent that everyone else knew each other, he glanced up at the cieleing before the campaign posters caught his eye. He was in the Research Committee , he saw this as the perfect excuse to camp out in the leaky cauldron and get slowly sozzled, then again given that it was afterall his first week of work, maybe he should do just that ..... work.

She handed Brian the list containing some points she thought of. Quote: REAGAN TAYLOR CAMPAIGN - MY PLANS (1) Decide what we want our tag line to communicate. (2) Begin brainstorming preparation. (3) Tag Line Decisions > We can have something like:
# "Reagan in Action" or "Women for Reagan" and others. (4) Find our competitors' tag lines. > We are looking at others' tag lines only to spark ideas, not copy them. We must come up with our own, original tag line.
> Look at them and strive to be better and different. (5) Gather together books and resources to help us come up with different ways to phrase similar ideas. (6) Conduct a brainstorming session. > After brainstorming, go through all the ideas. Pull out those few we think have the best potential. Try to reduce longer tag lines to fewer words. (7) Choose the one best tag line and stick to it, we can also have some multiple tags, in case we need them. (8) The most important of all, everyone in this campaign must be active! - Julia "Thats what I thought would be some essential points to conduct this campaign in a successful way. We can assign different works to our already assigned members." She looked at Brian and Ben hopefully, thinking what they'll say about her so called 'plans', whether they were junk or good. She kept her right hand over the left and waited for a reply.

Lucy Steadman hurried to the Headquarters. She had been lost for a while and she sighed of relief when she finally walked through the door. There were a lot of employees there already. Of course she recognized some: Jake and their boss, Samantha, and... Reagan Taylor?
Not wanting to interrupt the discussions in there, she silently made her way to an empty desk where she placed down her things to join all the other members to start planning the election campaing. "Good morning." she greeted politely. She would be working in the writing part and she had high expectations to do a good job. She didn't like to be called perfeccionist, though.
She accio her reading glasses and put it on.
She overhead some ideas that probably weren't meant for her ears. A young woman had apparently made some planning herself; some preparation. "It's a good idea." she heard herself saying. "We need a clear division on ideas to plain the campaing." she point to the small list of parchment and made her best to sound slightly friendly: "May I?" she asked to see the list. Making lists was probably a good way to start the planning. But Lucy was suspect to talk about that. She made lists for pretty much everything.

These things are very key in times of election, as well." Liam looked at Samantha who he had meet a few times before he smiled as he tried to think of somethings they could research and soon he had a listfull of things, he quickly wrote them down and then he passed the list to Samantha to read hoping she would be happy. Quote:
List
1. Research how the past winners won and what was simular in there victories.
2. Research what the local community want.
3. Research how much the campaign is likely to cost.
4. Research the history of Taylor and why she would be better that Cooper as Minister.
5. Research what went wrong in the years Cooper was Minister so that everyone knows why Taylor is the best chose.
6. Research the past minister so we have a understanding of how to run this campaign.
He hoped that Samantha would be happy with what he had wrote and that he was on the right track.

Samantha looked at the note Liam had passed to her. "Yes, these are all very important matters for us to research, I agree. Thank you, Liam, for your diligence in listing these things out, it makes it easier to get the research project underway. This information is useful in our campaign and speech writing preparations, without it we truly are unprepared." She smiled.
