Rebecca walked into the office "Wow" she murmured, this was amazing, bigger then Hogwarts classrooms!! she chose the desk nearest the head of departments desk, she might be better working next to someone who can help her, and Rebecca knew she was a perfectionist, so the desk would be nice and tidy if the HoD came by, she sat down and sighed contentedly looking around wondering what her first case would be

Erin O'Connor walked into her offices, Drressed in a beige Chanel suit and matching pumps, carrying a black leather briefcase and a Coffee. She sat her things on her desk, and opening her briefcase, she removed a notepad, a black leather bound Business agenda and folders that held the Resumes of her employees. Finally she spoke to the young woman at the desk next to hers. "Good Morning, you must be Rebecca Todd." She smiled. "My name is Erin O'Connor and I'll have assignments as soon as I get back from my meeting with my boss." She smiled. "Meanwhile, get comfortable, there is coffee and Doughnuts in the breakroom and I'll be back in a few minutes." She picked up her quill and agenda and walked into Syd's office.

Samantha knocked on the door of the Office of Improper Use of Magic and waited. She was responding to an owl which she had received from the Division Head, who she already knew, asking if she could possibly stop by her office to discuss a few things. Samantha was intrigued, wondering what she was about to find out. She knew that this was a busy day with all the new employees who were coming to the Ministry, but she figured she could take a few moments to see what was happening here. "I'll just wait for a few moments," she said to herself.

Erin opened her office door. "Hello," she said to her friend Samantha. "Come in!"

"Hey, Erin," Samantha said, taking on a far more casual attitude with her friend than most people usually saw. "What's up with you? How is everything going with your indoctrination of the new employees in your Division?"

"So far so good!" She smiled, leading her friend onto her cubilce. "I haven't had much time to decorate in here yet, I'll probably be in here this weekined doing that." She smiled. "So I see you got my memo that I needed to talk to you."

"Yes, I did," Samantha said, wondering what the memo could be about. "I must say, it did raise my curiosity a bit. What is it that you had in mind, Erin?" Samantha always found it best to come straight to the point rather than beat around the bush.

"Ok, My Niece Monica wrote me about a spell that her boyfriend Ray put on her after she tried to save the young Mosier boy at the lake. And it mademe very concer0ned about some of the spells the students are coming up with on their own, I thought we should have some kind of legislation about safe spells and some type of application process for the creation of spells."

Samantha had heard about the incident that had happened at Hogwarts. "I was quite concerned when I heard about that. My heart goes out to the family of that poor boy," she said. "Oh my, that was your niece? She is a very brave young lady. I quite agree with you that there should be some type of legislation passed regarding what spells are safe as well as regulating new spells that are created. This is not the first time an incident like this has happened, I believe there was a similar type of incident last term, was it, as well as another unfortunate student death."

"Do you think we could possibly get our people together for a meeting to Iron out all the wrinkles before we pass this on to Dainsie?" She asked. "Oh, and I will need to coordinate with you on disciplinary actions for the Reasonable Restriction of underage Wizardry."

"That sounds like a feasible suggestion to me," Samantha said. "I think we should arrange the meeting soon, since it is a very important matter to the wellbeing of all wizarding children. The best course of action is to act quickly."

"How is a week from today for you?" Erin asked, consulting her calendar

"That sounds perfect, exactly what I had in mind, really. It will give all the new employees a chance to get settled in a bit before we hit them with this," she said. "Not that I don't think they're all up to it, of course, but it's best this way, to give them a little time."

I agree, It will also give us a chance to think it out and get some ideas on parchment." Erin smiled.

"Yes, it will. You never know what input these new employees might have, they seem a bright, enthusiastic group and they could well have some excellent ideas of their own," Samantha smiled.

Rebecca smiled at her head of department "yes ma'am, I am Rebecca Todd" and as the HoD told her to make herself comfortable Rebecca smiled happily "thankyou ma'am" and she then pulled out her wand to start writing a letter to her mum

Fredrick walked into the office that from the looks of it would be come his home away from home for the near future. The future he had learned since graduating from school was far from certain. One could be walking down the street when all the sudden a muggle seeming trickster was rolling craps with magical dice. Swindling money from muggle bystanders who had no idea.

Another day one could find themselves wand point in an alley decorated only in the soot of the factory next door and the dirt trafficked in by the wind of the abandoned lot on its end. When he got this job he figured it would bring more days of random occurrences that most did not notice. As the general world population knew there was no such thing as magic.

The magical community had no desire to correct the general population of the world of that slight mistake they made on a daily basis. As most misuse of magic cases were just that keeping muggles in the dark it worked to be pretty normal looking. Hair short and neat with a muggle pair of jeans and a black leather jacket. Not to fancy and not something one would remember the next day.

He walked into the office and looked around seeing some people about he said nothing. He stood to the side and decided to observe his new coworkers as one could learn more by paying attention then by being noticed.

"Thank you Samantha, we'll be meeting with you in your offces in a week then." She smiled and turned to the young man. "Good morning Fredrick, why don't you select a desk and we'll be meeting soon." Erin said briskly.

It was obvious that the lady was in charge or at least was organizing things at any rate. She was good recognizing him usually he got away with lurking in the background of the traditional opening day banter longer. This was the British ministry of magic though so one could assume more organization and through checking of backgrounds than at his last post. Not that he had much experience in the field graduating about five years ago.

The field was very different than his basic schooling at Hogwarts and even a contrast to the muggle college he attended after it. However both in there way prepared him for this position. More the muggle college as his interest was in criminology and even though he was working with magic people were people.

Fredrick took a seat towards the side and to the back or as close as he could get with the provided chairs. Fredrick said " I don't believe we have been introduced. You would be? "

"Erin O'Connor, Division head." She held out her hand for him to shake. "Why don't you make yourself comfortable, there are coffee and doughnuts in the break room, and we will be meeting soon." She replied.

Fredrick stood up and shook Erin's hand. He had a good hand shake solid but not to tight that it would hurt the other person. One could tell alot by a handshake from how much confidence a person had. To whether they were nervous or clueless. It was the little things like that he had learned on the job.

Fredrick withdrew his hand from Erin's hand. Then took a few steps over to where the food was. Taking a cup and pouring some coffee in it adding only a little bit of sugar. No milk to water it down then took a plain donut. One that would not make a mess or cause a sticky mess on his hands from the glaze. It was never good to make that kinda first impression.

When he started at his first job he did not take the offered food. However he learned taking the food while feeding you was not the purpose of it. It was to make the atmosphere more relaxed for whomever was presenting. It was also to distract people from what they were listening to which he would not allow himself to fall for.

Walking back to his seat taking a sip of the coffee. Fredrick said " The coffee is good" Then took a seat. The coffee was typical office coffee nothing to write home about. A bit colder than he liked it and not the best beans were used to make it. However it would do.

"Just to let you know, I used what the office provided, but I don't really like it myself. I'll be making a trip to the store for better beans and a better coffee pot, tomorrow's coffe will be much better." She smiled, hoping that she did not reveal that she was an excellent Leglimens.

Rebecca smiled as Fredrick took some coffee "Hi, I'm Rebecca Todd, I am your co-worker" she smiled extending a hand out to him shaking his hand a little nervously

Fredrick heard Erin comment on how she did not like the coffee. Either he was a losing his touch or there was more to Erin than appeared on the surface. He figured the later was most likely the case. Not that it really bothered him as he would figure it out soon enough. Plus it was his first day on the job at least he was happy the boss had some brains.

Another co-worker held out her hand to be shook. Fredrick placed his cup on the table and his donut on a napkin he took from the food stand. Then shook Rebecca's hand. Rebecca's handshake definitely did not display an air of confidence from the looks of it she was nervous or at least that was the impression he got.

Fredrick said " Pleasure to meet you Rebecca" Hoping to put his new coworker at ease. After all this was going to likely be a long day with paper pushing and briefings. Being relaxed and alert was the thing that was going to get him through his first day which was reconnaissance to get to know his coworkers better. As the paperwork would always reappear in a nightmare like it usually did.
