Rachel smiled shyly at the man. "Hello, Mr. Andrus," she said, remembering the name from the sign on the door. "Um, yes, I do actually," she continued, going slightly red. Of course I do, everyone always has questions here! She thought for a moment how to phrase her question properly and then asked, "Well, I just wondered - have things changed in the status of werewolves since the time of Harry Potter? And how do you decide whether animals are beasts or beings?" She had more questions, but figured that he might explain them as well so she just waited for his reply.

Samson entered the office.
"Mr. Andrus?", he asked, approaching the desk.
"My name is Samson Vane, I´m the new employee for the werewolf registry, we`ve been writing - I just wanted to introduce myself in person."

Violet nodded. "Yes, of course. I think I might have to go back to Ms. Laurent ad ask what she found out about the wandmakers and et cetera." She stifled a yawn; it had been a very long day. "If there were Dark wizards involved. There might not be, although it is very likely. Perhaps the wandmakers are just ignorant." She shrugged. "Yes, that was a problem for me also. My daughter needed somewhere to stay while I was gone, and my husband is too busy to be home very often, but Maura's going to stay with one of her friends from Hogwarts for most of the summer, so problem solved." She tucked a stray hair behind her ear. "Yes, I think it only logical to wait until after the conferences, but maybe it might be better if we don't bring it up." She checked her watch; only a few hours.

Wow, that was an insightful question if there ever was one, Samantha thought to herself. There was no doubt in her mind now that Rachel was a sharp one, and she wondered if she was typical of the students who were now attending at Hogwarts or an exception. From what she had seen she was very impressed and very happy, and knew that Jake would be very, very impressed when he did happen to meet up with Rachel, and she had a feeling that Rachel would be impressed with her uncle, as well.

Teal nodded to Kasandra, “Great, well if he doesn’t show up soon I’ll just have you fill him in.” Sighing slightly, he whipped around in his chair and filled a file out of his filing cabinet and opened it up. As she started explaining what she found from her observations, Teal wrote everything down and wrote a few side notes down next to each Dragon type. They were different species and had to be treated differently.

Just as the purple egg had confused Teal, it seemed to confuse Kasandra and Pablo too. “Yeah they are tricky. I have seen a few in my years, and it’s almost always a mix breed. Peruvian Vipertooth’s have a fuschia colored egg sometimes but not a deep purple like that. I guess we’ll find out when it hatches.” He said with a nod. “They should be hatching in the next 7-10 days, you two need to live in the Holding Rooms to make sure they are in optimal shape. Can you cast a decent incubation charm?” Teal asked with a brow raised, that was extremely important too.


Then there was that little girl, and Teal gave her a warming smile as she addressed him. She didn’t look old at all, maybe three years older than his Cy. As she said she had a question, Teal nodded. Ah yes, the question she asked was definitely a tough one to answer. In order for it to be truly answered, he would have to sit down with her for hours. It was a touchy subject that was still being debated by experts by himself to this very day. He was going to be discussing it in the conferences in the next few hours, in fact. “Honestly Miss Rider, werewolf classification has been one of the most controversial topics in Wizarding History. We have really hit a standstill. Creatures are defined as either a beast or being depending upon whether or not they have sufficient intelligence that can understand the laws of the magical community and bear responsibility of following those laws. Creatures that you are familiar with that are beings would be Goblins, Hags, Vampires, and of course us humans.” He gave the girl a moment to digest all the information, it was probably a lot to take in. “Beasts don’t have enough intell to understand the laws of our community, and thus aren’t responsible for their actions. Fairies, pixies, gnomes, hippogriffs, manticore’s and the like are some creatures you would know as beasts. The ministry is is more concerned with regulating beasts. But with beings we are usually arguing issue’s concerning other creatures ‘rights’. We just now ended a big dilemma with the house elves.” He said with a deep sigh, Teal was SO glad that was over. “So, back your first question. We can’t technically classify the werewolf as a being, because at full moon it looses all sense of human state. Thus, it would not be human. New technologies such as the wolfsbane potion are helping werewolves come closer and closer to being status. Although, since not all werewolves choose to take wolfsbane, we can’t legitmize werewolves into the being category; I for one am an advocate to Wizengamont that favors putting werewolves being placed in the Being Division. The next court hearing is in two months I believe.” Teal winked to the girl, he had hammered her with some facts, and he might have to repeat some things. But she seemed clever enough to understand most of the concepts he was expressing.



Yet another person busted into the room, and Teal knew the face as his new employee in Werewolf Registry. Teal sighed, this had been one of the busiest days of the year, and it had to come on the day of the conferences. “Ah yes, Mr. Vane. I just finished filing your application.” He said professionally with a nod, “I was about to head down to Registry myself to meet you after I finished in here.” He said with a wary smile, nodding to all of the people around him. ”How’s the first day goin?” He asked, the guy had to be a bit confused on his first day of work.

Turning back to Violet with a bit of a furried, tired expression, Teal nodded in agreement. “Good, yes I think we need to keep in contact with Laurent. Do you think you could head down to Diagon Ally tomorrow before work?” They really needed to finish that up. “True, but the wandmakers intel is usually accurate. I’ll memo Forrester on my way out of the Ministry.” Forrester was the head of auror offices. Teal laughed, “Good thinking, I’ll just simply tell the foreign ministers that we’ve got it under control. I really don’t want them to get their Ministries involved too.” Too many people venturing into the forest to talk to the centaurs would severely upset them, and squander the little hope they had of restoring their trust.

Violet nodded, her brown bun bobbing up and down. "Yeah, of course. Although last time, I think I may have intimidated the poor woman. She might not be too happy to see me again, but she does understand that this is important. I'll go tomorrow before work and see what she found out." Violet hoped she had actually gotten around to it. "The poor lady runs a busy shop, especially this time of year when all the first years are getting wands. So it's possible that I might arrive here a little late." She nodded again. "All right. Owling Forrester is a good idea." She smiled. "Good. Centaurs don't like people so we don't want to involve the other Ministries," she mused.

Kass chucjled and nodded. "Of course I can." She said. She had only worked with dragon since she got right out of school, sone would thin she knew how to do one. "I will do my best to keep these eggs in tip top shape." She said with a nodd, before walking out of the room and back into to holding room.

Frida had arrived to work especially early today, so she figured she might as well introduce herself to the Department Head. It had been a couple of months, and Frida had never even properly introduced herself...or gave thanks for the opporunity she was given. Frida pushed some of her long, light brown hair behind her right ear and knocked softly on the door; hoping she wasn't interrupting anything important.

Teal nodded to Violet as he took a minor swig from his coffee mug yet again. The Ministry did tend to intimidate some of the Diagon Ally shopkeepers, that was no lie. Nodding to what Violet had said, he turned around and pulled out a file that included all of the Diagon Ally shopkeepers. As he flipped through it, he noticed that the Ollivander’s file had been purple-flagged, which meant something had changed. “Wait a moment-“ he said to Violet with an eyebrow raised as he gazed over the page.

“Damn.” Teal said in a disgruntled tone, as he saw that the Shopkeeper’s name had changed. Everytime they began to make strides, something had to change. Otavio Beezwick was the new Shopkeeper’s name, if he wasn’t as understanding as Ms. Laurent things were going to prove difficult in the upcoming mission. Teal’s dark blue eyes met Violets as he read aloud what he had just seen. “It looks like Ms. Laurent has resigned her post at Ollivander’s, and the new head over there is a man named Otavio Beezwick.” Sighing slightly, Teal then went on. “It looks like you are going to have to take him up to speed on the situation now, don’t worry about being late to work. This is more important for the time being.” Teal finished with a definitive nod, they really needed to get things going on this development with the centaurs.


Teal nodded to Kasandra, good thing she did. They were not an easy charm to teach, and he by no means had the time to teach it. “Great, get to work then.” He said with a wry smile and a nod, he knew she was going to handle them superbly.

Just as Kasandra had left the office, there was yet another knock at his door. Busist day of the year, for sure, ran through his mind as he squeezed in a quick sip from his coffee mug. “Come on in.” He said in his deep, gruff voice. It was nearing the end of the day, and Teal could only hope it wasn’t something perilous that would be keeping him here overnight…

Right as the door opened and whoever was behind the door began to enter, a memo swept into the room and landed on Teal’s desk. Ah yes, he had already seen a copy of this earlier in the day. The events were truly horrifying, he’d notify his Department formally first thing in the morning. For now, the memo was heading for the Level Four notice board. With a casual flick of his wand, the document folded itself back into a plane, and darted out of the room towards the notice board.

Frida opened the door slowly and entered silently. She gave a smile as she spotted the man in front of her, "Hello, Sir." Frida said politely and giving a nod and then extending her hand to shake. "I'm Frida Bok, of the Goblin Liaison department. I just wanted to introduce myself and thank you for awarding me with Employee of the Month. It was a pleasant surprise for sure...made my day."

Teal smiled broadly as he spotted as he recognized the woman that entered the room. It was Frida Bok, the extremely talented girl from Goblin Liaison. “Yes, Ms. Bok, it’s a pleasure to meet you formally.” He droned slightly, with a wary smile. Nearing the end of the day, Teal always began to look tired. Teal nodded again, “Ah, don’t thank me. I’m thanking you, your work in the Goblin Liaison Offices has really improved our productivity in that Division. The records came out just last week, I was very impressed.” He said with a smug smile, crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair for comfort.

Oh yes, then another thing came to mind. “I think whenever I owled you I said that the awards room was going to be placed on his level. It was here for a little while, but it had to be moved. Whoever did the expanding charm messed up royally, and all of the awards rooms in all Departments had to be relocated to Level eight. So your plaque should be hanging up there now.” Teal yawned quickly, and downed a bit more of his coffee.

Frida watched him for a moment, not knowing what to say at first. "It made that much of a difference...what I did?" 'Wow.' She laughed shyly and continued, "I'm sorry, Sir. I had no idea that I made that much of an impact. When the owl delivering my congratulations letter reached me I thought it had been sent to the wrong individual." Frida recognized the smile that Teal gave her, it was almost the same as her father whenever Frida placed highly in anything during school.

She blushed a dark red on her cheekbones when Teal mentioned the awards room. "That's alright, Sir, I--haven't actually visited the awards room yet..." 'Sounds like I could have done a better job with that charm...' "I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to go and view it though." Frida said quietly and trailing off slightly as she watched him yawn; it was uncomfortable, and she felt as though she was intruding and actually stared at the floor for a moment. "I think I should go, Sir. You look a bit tired."

A familiar piece of pastel pink parchment zoomed onto level four and slipped under the door of the Department Head. Instead of its usual showing off, it was in a clear hurry and just landed on the desk of Teal Andrus, unfolding itself to reveal a familiar sprawl:

Violet watched his face passively. She knew she wasn't the only one who intimidated the shopkeepers. Violet hid a smile as he took another sip of coffee; that mug seemed to be a bottomless pit. She leaned back in her chair as he pulled out a file with a purple flag and nodded as he told her to wait. "Certainly."

She raised an eyebrow as Teal read over the file. "What happened?" she asked, but he was already answering. She frowned, a dent forming in between her eyebrows. "Ah. Ah, I see." She met his eyes and frowned again. "That could arise some complication. Er, I've never even heard of this...Mr. Beezwick. I hope he gets intimidated less easily than Ms. Laurent," she said with a sigh. "And knows a bit more about what's going on. Very well, I'll go talk to him first thing tomorrow morning," she promised. They really did need to get hopping.

Violet read the memo upside down. When she saw that it was about Monsieur Benoit, her stomach swooped with discomfort and pain again. His death had been a terrible tragedy, and she had been there when it happened. She should have been able to do more to prevent his death. She watched the memo zoom back out of the room with solemn violet eyes.

Teal nodded to Frida as she seemed to be surprised, all the very best seemed to be halfway oblivious to their talents… Teal knew how that went from personal experience. Her next comment made him laugh, “Oh no, the Ministry OWL’s rarely find the wrong person.” Taking a quick sip from his coffee and looked back to his employee.

Nodding as she said she’d check it out later, Teal have a warm not. “You should, I stopped by there the other day, it’s nice.” It really was, the new employee of the month system was working pretty well, before long he would press for a pay raise in accordance to Employee of the Month. After a long, drawn out yawn Frida seemed to catch on to his drowsiness. He wasn’t exactly tired, just worn out of the workplace. It had been a long past week, busiest week of the year by far. Nodding, Teal put his tone back into a friendly volume, “Yes, I should get going as well. My son is at home with the house elf, he’s probably torn apart the place by now.” Teal was dead serious too, Cy was that kind of kid.


After he began to put papers and files away, a memo slid through the door and went straight for Teal’s desk. Sighing at the thought of more work, he unfolded it and smiled instantly as he noticed the handwriting. Lorraine. A little work party over in Transportation? It didn’t sound too bad, plus it gave him an excuse to leave the office and we with Lorraine. Shaking his head slightly with a smug grin, Teal folded up the paper and slip it in the top most drawer at his desk.


Teal nodded ruefully to Violet, he didn’t know a thing about Beezwick either. “I don’t know the guy either, his file didn’t tell me anything.” He said with a shrug, it wasn’t very comforting really. “Just have to hope for the best.” He said with a hint of a grimace as he put away the last file laying on his desk. “Thanks Violet, I’d do it myself but we have a new development in Dragon Restraint that I have to keep an eye on.” So much to due, Teal could almost feel his hair getting grayer.

Looking around the office, Teal made sure everything was resolved before standing up. Ah, no, there was that student, Miss Rider. Giving the girl a forced-friendly look, Teal took a step towards the door. “Miss Rider I’m afraid I have to make a trip down to Transportation, if you’d like to head down there with me I can finish answering your questions. Plus, once we get down there I am meeting with the Department Head of Magical Transport, I’m sure you’d have a few questions for her.” Teal gave Samantha a quick look and a wink before turning to the rest of his employee’s.

“Alright, well good work today. I’m going to head over to Transportation before going home. I’ll see you all tomorrow.” With that, Teal threw away his coffee in the nearest trashcan and walked out the door, on his way to see Lorraine, and he couldn’t have been more excited about that fact.

Violet grimaced as well. "I'll just have to do my best," she said with a sigh. "Just when you feel you're getting something done, they have to go and change something!" she said diplomatically, shaking her head. "It's no problem," she assured him. "It's what I must do, and this definitely needs to be solved fast." Violet smiled tiredly and, following his lead, she stood up and left the office.

Violet approached Teal's office door still holding the memo he'd sent her. She knocked and opened the door. "It's me," she said, stepping into the now-familiar office. She gave Teal a smile and sat in the chair opposite his desk. She smoothed a stray hair behind her ear. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?" she asked curiously. The last time this happened, Teal had told her about the centaur situation, so she figured it was related to that.

A familiar looking businesslike memo zoomed under the door of the Department Head's office and flew straight towards its destination. The desk of Teal Dawson Andrus. Once there, it unfolded itself to reveal a simple script below the previous message:

The last time he'd been coming to this office was certainly a very different one. First of all, it was to discuss something related to Goblins, probably, and second, well, his resignation was nowhere to be discussed.

Jack still knocked on the door. Even if Teal already knew why he was coming and all he needed to pick up was his signature, it was still nice to be polite and not to run into the office.

This will be a good time to focus a bit more on his family, after all. Or more likely, himself.

Jack waited for Teal to answer the door and sign his resignation letter.

Violet smiled in relief. She had to admit these past few days were getting to her. She was glad to have someone to talk to. "Thanks, Teal. I..." She trailed off as there was another knock on the door. She glanced at the door in question and then back at Teal. "It's no problem," she said with a flexible smile. "Let me know when to come back in." She stood up as the door opened. She gave a friendly nod to the man coming in and slipped out into the hall, closing the door behind her. She pulled a chair over, a few feet away from the door so that she could be sure not to hear what was going on inside, and waited patiently.

Set got off the elevator from the 5th floor and marched up to the office. He walked in and said, "Quick question, from Magical Cooperation. if we find an Augurey in our house, what should we do?" Set asked.

Squeezing itself through the door, a folded paper airplane memo zoomed around Teal's office before coming to a rest on his desk and unfolding itself. It read:
