Office of Teal Andrus: Department Head At the end of the Level Four Corridor, you spot an emerald green door with a large central window that has been tinted and fogged for privacy. You almost wonder if anyone is present inside, but many charms have been cast upon it to make it soundproof. Right at eye level, there is a plaque showing the full name of the Department Head that works within this office, and read as follows. Department Head (and Chief of Coyness) Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures After knocking on the door and entering, you find yourself in a rather ordinary office. Posters are draped around the room of Teal’s favorite Quidditch team, the Puddlemore United. The inhabitants of the posters are constantly zooming in an out of the pictures doing dazzling tricks. You look at some of the smaller and more personal pictures, and see the majority of Teal’s family. Once you reach his desk, there are two comfortable chairs facing it to have a sit in. Teal himself has a large, fine wooden desk. Papers are in neat stacks across it and many different quill’s are in the furthest corner. A few photographs of his family cover the back row. Teal is usually behind his desk, waiting for his employees to come and ask him about various problems and ideas. If he is absent, please just take a seat in one of the vacant chairs as Teal will certainly be with you soon. |
James looked again at the memo. He was to report to his Department Head’s office immediately. He nervously made his way down the corridor towards the emerald green door. He paused to look at the door briefly. He knocked then entered “You wanted to see me sir?’ he asked rather curiously. He couldn’t help but wonder what this meeting was about. A new assignment perhaps. He was hopeful. |
Teal was scanning over some documents robotically, his face glazed over. The new position was definitely a greater work load, but he was enjoying the power fully. After signing his signature at the bottom he stamped and folded it up, planning on delivering it to Wizengamont later today. Just about at that time, he heard a knock on the door and watched as James Randall entered the room. Ah yes, he was a fantastic employee and Teal was pleased to see him. Teal nodded at the man, "Ah yes James, please take a seat." he said, straightening himself in his chair looking professional as possible. Teal pressed his lips together tightly and eyed the man, he was a hard worker, strong, perfect for the Head of the Beast Division... hopefully he accepted. "So James, do you have any idea of why I've called you in here?" he asked, mythotically. He wanted to see what he had to say, get to know him a little better perhaps. |
James nodded in response and took the offered seat. He looked at Teal as he asked him if he knew why he was here." Well, I'm not exactly certian. Things have been a bit Slow in the centaur liason lately, mostly it's been paperwork and routine observations to make sure there hasn't been any further situations... something didn't get over looked did it? Is there something you was needing me to look into?" James asked seriously. That was one thing about James he worked hard at everything even paperwork. It was just his nature. It was why he was always the first to arrive in his department and and often the last to leave just so he could make sure he understood every angle of his assignments. |
Teal gave the man a small smile as he began to list off all of the reasons why he thought he was here, boy he was quite off. Teal took a sip from his mug of coffee and looked back up to James. "Yes, It's been rather slow lately but none of this is the Divisions, let alone your fault." Teal finished with a small smile still playing on his lips. "As I see it, you are the hardest worker within the Division. You're talented, and as far as I have witnessed, you seem to really love your job." Teal said, going on to take a very quick look at one of the pictures on his desk to built suspense. Looking back up to James after just a split second, Teal nodded before finishing. "This is why I'm offering you the Beast Division Head position, I know you're the best man for the job." he said with a small smile, hopefully the guy accepted, Teal couldn't picture anyone else taking the place. |
Compliments. Wow he hadn't really expected that. Not that he had been expecting to get into trouble either. James looked across the desk trying to figure out the man it was proving difficult. " I do enjoy my job very much." Surely he had heard incorrectly, Teal couldn't have just.. I know you're the best man for the job confirmed it. He blinked letting it soak in for a breif moment. " I would gladly accept the position as Beast Division Head." James said unable to hide a smile that had formed on his face. " Really it's an honor Sir." |
Having made his way down from the Magical Maintanance and Security office, Alec opened the door to the Department Head's office, he flashed his identity parchment "Alec Dumond, Minister's Office; I have some information for you regarding the Foreign Minister's visit" |
A pleased smile formed across Teal's face as James accepted his post, what a relief. He nodded slightly and took another sip from the coffee on his desk, "Exellent, glad to have you." he said with another swift nod, before droning on to the other business aspects that were forthcoming. Teal pulled out a few papers from the side of his desk and offered them to James, "As you should know, the convention is coming soon and we need to be well prepared. A meeting will be held in the conference room within the week and I will memo you telling you the times as soon as I have them figured." he said with a swift, businesslike nod to his new Division Head. Right as he finished explaining, another man seemed to pop into his office as well. Information from a foriegn Minister, as yes, Teal was expected this. "Yes, please, Mr. Dumond have a seat." he said, gesturing towards to chair in front of him. |
James nodded as he took the papers from Teal he listened as he continued on with other work details. " I'll get started on this now." James said as another man returned saying he had information regaurding the foriegn minister. " Do I need to stay a bit longer or do you need me to get started with this james ask holding up the papers he had in hand. |
Teal nodded to James as he said that he was going to get started right away. Good, hardworker, Teal knew he had made a fantastic choice right away. "Exellent," he said with a curt nod in James' direction. When asked if he needed to stay for the meeting, Teal pressed his lips tight together in thought before deciding against it. "Ah, no I think that will do for now, I'll catch you and the rest of the Division Head's up later once we are through here." Teal said, nodding to Mr. Dumond and giving James a small smile, "I think I hear screams down the hall though James, you might need to stop by there and sort that out." he said with a wry grin, that Sphinx was will out and about. Teal would normally tend to something as dangerous as a sphinx by himself, but he knew James was more than capable. |
James shifted through the papers and looked at Teal as he told him that was all he needed presently. James nodded " Right.." He turned gave a quick nod before he hurried off to see what the trouble was. |
"I'll get right to the point; first of all for the visit of the Foreign Ministers the Minister wants these tasks accomplished. He wants you to work with the Accidents and Catastrophes department to appease the centaur uproar in Bulgaria over muggles going on their land. Secondly, the london centaurs are taking over parts of the Dark Forest used for wand making. Maybe an appeasement involving certain parts of land for the centaurs whilst keeping the trees available for wand-making Also, the Minister wants the Werewolf Classification System re-clarified for their split status. The Minister wants a solution particularly if there is a way to reconcile two into one. Lastly, Department and division heads will be required to present reports regarding new and improved methods of dragon concealment in countries like Peru, Australia, Norway and China; rebellious house elves and discussion with the French Minister of these troubles and lastly the accusations that ghosts from other countries are haunting American Qudditch players, a liaison will be required with the Games and Sports department. The countries participating in the conference are Peru, USA, France, Bulgaria, Australia, India, Japan, China and Norway." "That's it from my end" and with that Alec left the room. |
Jack saw one man leaving the room and decided to take the opportunity of an open door to step inside, but he stayed on the doorway, not wanting to intrude too much if Teal was busy. "I'm sorry to interrupt you, Andrus" he said, considering they were almost the same age he didn't call him by his first name out of respect of him being the Department Head, but placing the 'Mr.' in front of his last name wasn't something he felt like doing. "I've just received this" he said, handing over the letter from the goblins, and waited for Teal's reactions to it. |
Teal nodded as Dumond said he was going to elaborate on the Convention coming up soon. Teal was very aware of these things, and was hoping to get his list of duties very soon. He brought out a small bit of parchment and a quill and he began scribbling away, each and every word that man spit out. Once he was through, Teals paper was highly illegible, but he himself could read it and thats all that mattered. "Thank you, have a good day now." he said, looking to Dumond from the corner of his eyes. He rolled up the paper and sit it in the uppermost right hand drawer. Teal sighed after he had left and began to pull out his paperwork again, but only managed to go through about three pages before there was another knock at the door. Teal smiled as it was one of his long time cohorts, Jack Lockhart. He hadn't been referred to as Andrus before he was appointed Department Head, and he had to admit it felt a little strange. "Ah, no worrie's Jack, come on in." he said, purposely saying the mans first name to make it clear that there was no need for last name adresses. Jack pulled out a highly professional looking document and handed it over to Teal, and he narrowed his eyes as he scanned over the parchment. It was about that sphinx, her court case was long time over and she was due at Gringotts ages ago. This was definitely a bit of a problem, their Department had always been good with the Goblins and he couldn't let such a simple matter as this upset them. The reason for the sphinx's delayed return was due to the House Elf rebellion that was currently taking place. The sphinx was currently in the Break Room at the moment, and that in itself was a problem. "Bullocks." he muttered as he set the letter down on his desk. "Yes this is a bit of a mess isn't it." he said with a sigh, standing up from his desk. "Alright, well I'll see to it that the sphinx is returned within the day myself." he said with a heavier sigh, looking back to his desk, picking up a piece of paper that was located under a paperweight in the form of a dragon. He scanned over it slightly and made sure it said 'Lockhart' at the top and offered it to Jack. "Here, this is for the upcoming convention. We need to prepare our employee's, and we also need to fix some problems in the field." he said, thinking of the enraged centaurs. "So just read over it, and I'll talk to you later about everything." he said with a swift nod, walking around his desk towards the door. "As for now, we need to fix the problem with that sphinx." he finished with a weary grin, and left his own office for the time being. |
Jack nodded, "A mess. That's an understatement" he said, clearly worried, he didn't need any more problems with the Goblins at the moment, the Elves were quite enough for now. He looked at the piece of paper that quickly was at his hand, "Good, I'll look over it soon" he said, and half-smiled when he mentioned the Sphinx again, "Yes, the Goblins want it back" he said, again. And left the room in the opposite direction of Teal, walking towards one of his offices. |
Raven walked up to Mr. Andrus' office and knocked on the door, she wondered exactly why he wanted to discuss issues with her but she wasn't too worried at all. |
Teal looked up to the door as a knock came from it and knew it was one of two people. Once the girl emerged he identified her as the one he had just memoed. He gave her a swift nod and gestured her to sit in the chair opposite him. Teal pulled out a small folder and opened it, furrowing his brow slightly. After reading over it for a moment, he looked back to his employee. "Good day Ms. Athlon." he said hastily, "I've called you in hear to get you're input on some international issues. As I'm sure you know, our Ministry is holding the International Wizarding Convention this year and it is imperative that we get to the bottom of this controversy before the meeting." he said with a sigh, pulling out a paper within the folder. "As we are both aware, you are very blessed with a talent in the Spirit Division, well, it seems that some Japanese ghosts have been interfering with American Quidditch players. The American minister is furious and we need to find a way to prevent the spirits from entering the United States. Any thoughts?" He finished, taking a large swig of coffee and laying the detailed paper in front of Ms. Athlon. |
A small pink paper airplane flew down the halls of level four, until it found the destination of the Department Head's office. Slipping under the door, it then zoomed around the office itself, avoiding the two occupants. The fact that one was male, made it easy to identify one as Teal Andrus, the Head of Creatures. The pink plane circled his head a few times, then a few more the other way, before zooming around the office again. Twirling and spinning, the little paper plane flew backwards and finally came to rest quietly on the wooden desk. The letter was written in distinctive purple handwriting: Quote:

Teal looked over Ms. Athlon's head and noticed that something had come into the room. His stomach bounced as he spotted the pink paper airplane and a small grin reached the edges of his mouth as it circled his head a few times. Finally after taking another roundabout of the room, it settled on his desk. Teal looked to Ms. Athlon and muttered, "Ah, one moment please." as he softly unfolded the paper to see what it said. He knew that color and Handwriting instantly, and supressed a smile as he read through it. Of course she had been busy, but it was good that the Portkey was being approved sooner rather than later. Teal had to try his very best not to laugh at one of the last little parts of her letter, 'men buying her drinks'. Of course not, well, hopefully things were changing now. And at that thought more thoughts of Lorraine began to want to fight their way into his mind but he made himself force them out for the time being. He had an employee in the actual room with him, wrong time. Teal got out some parchment and jotted down a quick note. Taking out his wand, he tapped the paper twice and watched as it magically folded itself and zoomed out of the room. Teal looked back to Ms. Athlon with a sympathetic expression, "My apologies." he said professionally, "But as I was saying, what are you takes on the ghosts haunting American quidditch players?" |
Rowan closed the door to the Werewolf Registry office just as a pink memo went soaring by. She watched as it soared right the end of the hall and inserted itself below the emerald door. Rowan grinned and walked down the hall till she was right in front of the large door. She was about to knock, when she hesitated. Brief images began to flash before her minds eye. She Mr. Andrus sitting at his desk as a small pink memo flew around the room and another witch was sitting in front of his desk waiting patiently. She saw him read it and then tap the parchment twice. Then she saw him look up at the woman and continue their conversation. Rowan blinked twice and then took a deep breath. The images had been brief and she didn't hear what was being said. She wasn't concentration however, because she didn't want to eavesdrop. Deciding not to interrupt him, she folded up the note and cast the small charm. It rose steadily into the air and then flew gracefully under the door. Sighing, Rowan nodded her head and headed back down to her office. The green memo soared under the door and flew swiftly around the room and landed finally on the edge of the desk, waiting to be opened. Wh Quote:

Her bangs were a deep plum today, making a rigid marquee over pounds of eyeliner. Roxie instinctively ducked her head beneath copious amounts of jet black hair as something pink whizzed past her, scowling so deeply it looked painful. That's all I need--some pansy of a woman running me around. A plaintive thud thud drummed a heavy bassline against the innocent floor---Roxie's age-old, way-past-vintage combat boots. Cinder blocks would have been lighter, but optimist Roxie saw them as an anger management course with soles. Plus, not a bad thing to chuck at someone's head, she mused, with clear amusement as she glared down at Reason and Persuasion---almost---affectionately. Bleary eyes snapped up to the vulture-like creature that stomped her way through the maze of cubicles and Formica, a scene out of her vilest, most bile churning horror movies. "Get back to misfiling your reports, mates," she growled, the head's door reflecting challengingly in her galvanized metal eyes. It too seemed to recoil at the astounding apathy the going-on-21 exuded...or didn't exude. Flicking back the flowy chiffon sleeve of a peasant sort of top that ended in a chokehold black corset, Roxie cooly checked the time; the glittering bone of the skull on the read-out pointed out that she had five minutes to make herself decent before the department head. The punk smirked, looping a pearl-white hand into the spiky loops of her belt.Should've shopped at some place like Jane's or Lacey's then. Good thing I wore the eyebrow rings this morning. And the tongue bar. Bobbleheads and other personal momentos rocked and ruffled; she clunked the homestretch toward Teal Andrus's name. Even better; he's got a doting mother. C'mon, who else'd name their kid Teal? Bloke got off easy, come to think. Could've named him Ecru or Vermillion. Eh, mebbeh she'll bring by brownies. Roxie uttered a bark-like laugh at Chief of Coyness, pressing her pale rose lips firmly as she kept the chest convulsion at bay. The thorny, onyx crucifix 'round her neck dangled ominously. Christmas early! Maybe he still wears a cape and Dumbledore pajamas! Bless! Tilting her head to the right to reveal multiple piercings, Roxie hinted at a black smile, a fingerless gloved hand snatching eagerly toward the door with bullets of highest mocking caliber loaded in that machine gun mouth. Wait! The black-haired crow paused, recalling the few manners her otherwise unfit 'mother' taught her, amongst: Don't smart off to the dodgy ones after dark...and don't laugh when an attempted murder misses you... Roxie did learn the fundamentals of 'please' and 'thank you'. Poising her wrist over the shiiiiiny plaque, the door tremored slightly as Roxanne's manly knock made contact a trio of times. It was a good thing wood didn't bruise. The new addition to Dragon Research pivoted gracelessly and slouched her emaciated back against the wall, staring down a cow-eyed blonde who toughness cracked before Roxie could even snap her jaws. Yeah, that's right, get to writing your will. Because I'm soooo dangerous. Honestly, people. A bit of black and you're suddenly Voldemort. |
Teal's eyes perked up as yet another memo flew under the door, however this one was green. As he saw the green, he sighed inwardly knowing that it wasn't Lorriane's. He watched it softly land on his desk and he instantly unfolded it and read the contents. Ah yes, he knew Liz was transferring to Mysteries but he wasn't exactly sure when. Bad timing indeed, the same day as Ms. Cromwell came in. Well, there was definitely work to do so he got out a piece of paper very quickly and wrote down a list of instructions on the paper. He tapped it twice with his wand and watched it zoom back out of the room. Merely seconds after he had sent that off there was yet another knock on his door. Teal sighed slightly and gave Ms. Athlon a apologetic look, "Come on in." he said in his deep, gruff voice. |

Teal was underlining something on that piece of paper when he heard the door begin to open, he glanced up from the top of his eyes to see who the newcomer was. He was overcome with darkness, and it seemed like his pupils had to dilate to the different hue. However, as his memory began to go into full force he remembered the groggy night just a few days ago where he did see this woman. And with that thought, he pressed his lips together tightly as his face gathered a sort of involuntary grimace. He couldn’t believe that it was this girl, small world indeed, he couldn’t help to think. Teal nodded as she presumed that he was Mr. Andrus. “That would be me.” he said rather professionally. He didn’t however, attempt to give her the option of calling him by his first name as he did with most employee’s, that would be absurd. It seemed, as she looked up at him and saw his face, that she had recognized him instantly. Her voice went to a sort of polite to something rather hostile. Yes, she had definitely recognized him. She approached the desk, and Teal looked up to her with a blank, unreadable expression. However, dislike was definitely burrowed deep inside him. At the question of him being her new boss, Teal nodded once again. “I am indeed.” he droned, but as he was about to guess on what her name was she introduced herself fully. She sounded hateful, not changing the way she dressed? That might pose a problem, she was going to be wearing her badge though; Ministry regulations, she couldn’t avoid that. “It’s a pleasure, Roxie.” he said, wondering if the first name address was going to bother her. “The Division is busy this week, so I’ll be stopping by your office to brief you later.” He said, then looking to her apparel. Although he wished she would wear Ministry robes, he couldn’t make her. Teal merely looked up to the woman blankly and laid her new badge on the desk before her. “Fine, you will be wearing this though.” he stated, looking back over to Raven Athlon, wondering what was going through the girls mind at the moment. |
Alex strode up to the emerald door and knocked three times. He didn't get an answer at first, so he opened the door a crack. Peeking his head in, he noticed someone who was presumably Mr. Andrus sitting at a desk, and several other people either sitting or standing around. "Sorry." he said. "If this is a bad time, I can come back later." |
