Madeline nodded, "Yes, and he brought cupcakes..." she added, but then her voice trailed off. She looked at the cupcakes for a second, wondering if she should mention their slightly salty taste, and then back at Ivan. "So, did everything go alright with your report?" she asked. She glanced at the door after she spoke, then lowered her voice, "You just missed another outburst from George. Poor girl. She seems so uptight lately," she added with a sympathic head shake.

Trism started laughing the moment Ivan's feet flew up into the air. "Hahahahahaha! oh you! You are so - you did that on purpose didn't you? I think, no ale for you tonight. Not at all." Ivan popped up muttering something about a remembral. He sucked in a breath getting his laughing under control at the mention of the cupcakes. "Well, I did bring them, but you're lovely wonderful neighbor tossed them in the bin." He shrugged and licked some frosting off a finger as he looked at Madeline. "Well, I think I would be mad too if I had to replace the wand someone stuck up her bum."

Ivan burst out laughing. Such an apt description. He wasn't sorry to have missed George's outburst, but he would have been interested in seeing Trism and George going at it. "Sorry about your cupcakes. Shame to have missed them." Although, he wasn't really sure about that. Trism wasn't the best baker - based on his cookies anyway.

Ivan nodded. "Turned in my report and I'm all done." Ivan looked at Madeline. "Jamie and Marius are going to dinner." He waggled his eyebrows meaningfully. Department rumor had it that Jamie and Marius had a flirtation going. Some gave it that Jamie had the hots for Marius and some gave it the other way. Ivan had even heard a story that the two were secretly married. He personally liked that one. Probably because it sounded so implausible. Ivan did his best to spread that one around. Unfortunately, he could never remember the supposed 'supporting' details and his story varied from person to person.
"Ready when you are," Ivan said to Trism, kicking one last book under the desk. He was ready for that ale!

"Excellent!" He clapped Ivan on the back with a hand and then quickly straightened up a pile of papers on his desk. "Let's be off. Nice to see you again Madeline." He winked at her and then turned Ivan around to face the doors. "Onward! Those porkchops and applesauce are waiting."

Ivan found himself being propelled out of the room, he hardly knew how. "Night Maddie!" Ivan waved backwards, bumping into the doorframe on his way out. "You really don't want to run into George again, do you?" Ivan grinned, laughing at Trism. Their voices faded down the hall.
