Davina continued to listen attentively to her department head, nodding slightly on occasions.
It was only when employees burst through the door in dramatic lateness thaty she took her eyes or focuss off her boss, even though he mentioned nothing of her areas of specialty Goblins, Werewolves and House-elves.
However, she continues muttering to her pen what little notes she could take that might be relevant to her in anyway.
Then he mentioned something to her that she had already known. Britian would be hosting the world cup, well England. The other ministries were all quite disappointed for missing out on it. She was too, but now she was here, in england so much ado about nothing.
Sighing lightly, she wondered when he would get to the good stuff.

He paused and watched as there was a sudden influx of employees into the office. He smiled as each one of them took a seat at the table. "WAIT. Let me guess," he smirked, folding his arms across his chest. "A black hole opened up in the floor and mystical monsters from the planet Never never land appeared and attacked, HENCE, why you are late. Please, I understand," he laughed, waiting for the rest of them to sit down. "Oh please, no killing yourself," he added with a worried look as he peered around to look at the woman who had tripped.
"Moving on!" Chad said, addressing the slowly growing crowd. "I am pleased to announce that we have once again been given the opportunity to host the quidditch world cup!" Chad almost bounced in excitement, but he managed to contain himself. "Exciteeementtt!" This boss dude amused Gideon. Rest in peace. Oh man, good one. Gideon chuckled loudly at Chads ghost joke and then his explanation for people's lateness. Mythical monsters - isn't that what this department was all about really?
Hearing Chad announce that the Ministry would be hosting the Quidditch world cup made him slap the table with his palm in amusement. He whistled through his teeth before practically yelling out, "Well hawt dawg! That's excitin! Been a long time since we dun had that honor." Not quite sure how capturing and registering werewolves fit in with the world cup, but at least he'd have an event to take the family to. Especially since his wife was always complaining they didn't spend enough family time becuase of his job.

Clearing his throat and deciding that it would be best to calm down so that he could continue, Chad ruffled a few papers, to jog his memory about what exactly it was that they had to do. "Ah....oui," he mumbled, finally remembering and then looking back to the crowd.

That was very unladylike. Still smiling slightly she reoriented herself to the conversation and the fact that there seemed to be quite a few people coming into the meeting late.
Well better late then never. Kaylee pouted, not appreciating the snorting from her colleagues as she described the ghost support group! Hmph! How rude! She was just about to pass comment on how they were smelly or something of the like when Chad butted in and came to the rescue, calming her slightly. Quote:

She grinned, pleased that he had managed to laugh it off and she did very much enjoy his joke (although she was unsure that any ghostly beings would share the same views. But she let this pass.)
"Oh we do?" she bounced up and down, excited. She LOVED Quidditch. "Before I started working here," she said, beginning her lifestory, "I traveled the world, getting to experience different cultures and how different wizarding communities function! And I would never miss a game no matter where it was. It's so exciting to see how different countries represent and host the tournament. I hope we are doing something spectacular."
Yep, she just went on and on and on and on. Quote:

"Beast division employees: What are your feelings or thoughts on this?" "Well, my names Jack Berusen and I just got a job in the werewolf registry and Capture Unit. Thus when it comes to werewolves I think if werewolves are to be allowed to attend we have to have to have a way of ensuring them leaving atleast 30 minutes before midnight of the fullmoon cause even under the wolfsbane potion they will still turn into a werewolf and even if their not vicious people may freak out at just the same at just the sight of one and we can't have chaos like that at an event as big as this.".

"Beast division employees: What are your feelings or thoughts on this?" Rhea frowned. She really didn't like that fact werewolves were classified as beasts. Weren't they human's before werewolves? She preferred to call them sick...thats it. They were sick, infected by a horrible uncurable disease. Maybe someone should work on finding a cure, instead of working on restraining them.
Though Mr. Berusen did have a point. It would be unsafe to have them out during the full moon. She thought for a while unsure of whether or not she should speak up.
"Why couldn't they just change the date though to two days after the full moon. The affected werewolves would be tired and worn out after transforming a night or two before and would be completely harmless.
She bit herself. Maybe they wouldn't want to change the date but she figured she would raise the point anyways.
Straightening the front of her suit she cleared her throat and spoke.
"Could we shift the world cup to perhaps a few days after the full moon?" she asked.

"Beast division employees: What are your feelings or thoughts on this?"
Rowan listened intently as not only did their new Department head drop the bomb about the Quidditch World Cup but also mentioned that werewolves wished to be present. WHAT?! Well, okay first reaction was a little abrupt but then she started thinking about the implications and such. Interesting. Listening to a gentlemen who was apparently also in her division she nodded her head slowly but had a few more points that needed to be discussed and broached. "Excuse me. Rowan Cromwell I've worked in the Werewolf Registry and Capture Unit for a while now. Pleased to meet you by the way..." She gave him a small smile and then continued along her train of thought. "Exactly how close to the full moon are we talking. A couple days prior a werewolf may exhibit some restlessness and irratiblity. A day before they can be a tad aggressive, moody, and little territorial but nothing unmanageable. It isn't till the actual full moon that they become unbearable. I was just wondering at out window here."
Being in this division had given her a lot of insight into the lives and natures of werewolves. It also seemed that she was the only senior member of the Unit present at the moment so, the questions needed to be ask in order for her to be ascertain whether it would be possible and what kind of percautions they would need to take.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Blake Rouyn Second Year | you live your life just once, so don't forget about a thing called love. Chad shook his head. "Unfortunately the date stands...I don't think Mr. Rex Vindictus would really like to be asked to change the date for a group of people who'll throw a hissy fit because the can't attend the event of the year." Okay, so he was being contradicting a little...but, he wished werewolves were regarded equally in society.
"And no," he shook his head gently, "you can't ask a group of people to leave before the full moon. They paid a lot of money for those tickets...we'd REALLY have a riot on our hands." He leaned against the wall, thinking about everything else that was getting thrown out there.
"Here's the thing," he said gently, "Even though there are good werewolves out there...there are those who, unfortunately, have soiled the name and made it hard for the wizarding world to accept that they really can live among us. You have to remember, the wolfsbane potion has not been around for that long...there are still MANY years of terror that people don't want to forget.
"Plus, we are talking about being very close to the Full Moon," he said, nodding towards Rowan. "I believe it's the eve of the Full moon that the match begins." Ugh...this was tough. "I do not want to scare the people either..."

This was so confusing. Why did the date for the world cup have to be so close to the full moon, I'm mean really! Who ever picked the date for the cup should have at least consulted a calender that told him when a full moon was. Werewolves definatly deserved to attend the event of the year just as much as everyone else did, it wasn't fair that they would have to sit out cause of their disease, if thats what you could call it.
But since Kaylee couldn't think of anything, she remained silent, listening to others, trying to elaborate their ideas to make it work.

Rowan nodded her head. Well it was a definite concundrum that they were dealing with but it certainly wasn't insurmountable. Of course they couldn't ask the Games department to reschedule, the date was already set therefore they were going to have to work around it. "Well, I think we would need a list of those werewolves who plan on attending with the usual information: when they were bitten, whether they use wolfbane, and all that. Then we can clearly come up with a plan of action. As much as I would hate having to separate them from the general public, I think that may be the best option. That's granted we have the proper protection placed with them, both for their own safety and for the others present."
It would take some organization but it could be done. Coordination and cooperation would be key.

But one thing worried her.
" But," she hesitated. " But how does that effect out department?" He brow furrowed.

She was new yes and wasn't sure how they treated werewolves in England but back home, they were people....people. Obviously that woman had never met a werewolf. She was bubbling with anger at the woman's suggestion but she kept it under lid and spoke in a clear calm tone.
"So you're suggesting that we keep them away from everyone??? Quarantine them like some things with a contagious plague????? Werewolves have feelings ma'am and they deserve to share in the atmosphere of a quidditch world cup just as much as any other wizard in here. And locking them in a cage would be the most embarassing thing ever. You can't treat people like animals! A cage is definitely out of the question and keeping them away from everyone else is prejudice. It would only give rise to more problems. The last thing you want to deal with when hosting a WC is a group of angry werewolves." She slid back into her chair and toyed with her pen before speaking generally.
"Have any of you even met a werewolf?"

Hogwarts RPG Name: Blake Rouyn Second Year | you live your life just once, so don't forget about a thing called love. "RELAX," Chad frowned. He had wanted a discussion of ideas of what to do, not the possibility of people jumping down other's throats. "Just...take a breather. Drink some coffee. Move away from those whom you think you'll end up throwing bread at. Okay? Okay..."
Chad took a breath himself and started to mull over things. "I understand, that everyone has their own person thoughts and ideas about werewolves, and I respect that. But, this is NOT about us. This is about every person out there, werewolves or human, and we have to look at this objectively, putting our OWN personally feelings to the side.
"Yes, I have met a werewolf and he was very nice, especially under the wolfsbane potion. Unfortunately, he was the victim of an accident..well, it's not being regarded as an accident. Anyways, there was a possibility that something could go wrong and it did. A innocent man now has an incurable disease and he's going to have to live with it for the rest of his life."
Chad took a breather before continuing. Blah, this talking stuff was hard! "Who's to say that that could not happen at the Quidditch World Cup. It's such a LARGE event, the TINIEST thing could pass us by and turn the cards in the game and it would be bad.
"There are good werewolves...and there are bad...and then there are those who aren't werewoves, but they're weird. I'm not saying anyone in this room is evil, but if we were to do ANYTHING that made it possible for werewolves to attend, the possibility of sabotage is there. They believed nothing would go wrong at Hogwarts...but something did. They went to ALL lengths to make sure that the students were safe...but still, something went wrong.
"I do not want to take that chance at the Quidditch World Cup...it could end up being very very disastrous. Hmmm..I will go over all your thoughts and think about this in the comfort of my office. We need to move on..." he looked down at the sheet of paper and found the next creature up. "House elves! Thoughts on that?"

Larry thought about house elves, and read about house elves but he never thought that he would get to this situation to actually talk about them. He cleared his throat and stood up," I'd like to say something about house elves, I think that we should expand the house elves right because I met many pure-blood families this summer and most of them treat the house elves like garbage and some of them treat them in a very kind way and you can see the difference in between the house elves. The good family house elves are more healthy and they work faster, but the bad family house elves are very pale and unhygienic, so then their masters get angry on then and force them to work, so I thought about expanding the house elves rights." He was about to sit down until he forgot to say his name, "By the way my name is Larry, nice to meet all of you," he felt awkward about saying that in front of so many people.

After the earlier scolding for being late, Derfel was content to sit at the back and listen to the meeting. It was his first day so how could anything he say be of significance. He began to have seconds thoughts. Maybe he should have introduced himself at the spirit division first?
He quickly dismissed these thoughts and concentrated on the discussion. Ghosts, werewolves and house elves so far... Another thought struck him and he raised his hand, waiting for an opportunity to speak.

Thoughts on that?" Derfel quickly let his hand drop. Perhaps his views might be better expressed through his head of division now that the conversation had passed him by...
Realising that he had nothing to contribute and any further information could be gathered from departmental memos or gossip, Derfel quietly left the room, figuring that setting up his desk would be a more productive use of his time.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Blake Rouyn Second Year | you live your life just once, so don't forget about a thing called love. Chad stared as an employee walked out of the room without so much as an "excuse me" or explanation. How...rude and very unprofessional. Not impressed, Chad slowly moved across the room to where Kaylee was sitting and bent over to whisper in her ear. "I believe he's yours? If you could be so kind as to inform your new associate to see me in my office as soon as possible, hmmm?"
Straightening up and moving to the front of the room, he put a smile on again. "I meant what do you think about house-elves attending the QWC? Those who belong to a family, of course," he shrugged, returning to pacing the room. "Discussion of elf rights are a matter strictly for the division itself, so you'll have to discuss that with your division head."

Rinatta was very displeased. She had been delayed with transfers, this office that office, ugh she absolutely hated paperwork. Things like this were supposed to be easy with magic. Worst of all she was now going to be late for the meeting , LATE! on her first day at her new ministry.
Rinatta had no trouble finding her way to the conference room at least. Upon entering she passed a rather pale man that struck her as being very strange, and hoped that he wasn't in her division.
She quietly seated herself towards the back of the table so that she didn't interrupt the department head as he spoke, as she found such rudeness intolarable. She took a sweeping glance at her new co-workers making small mental notes about them. She found herself quite interested in her new department head and couldn't help noticing how cute his accent was. She waited eagerly listening so that she could gather what had already been discussed and prepare herself.

So thats what he had meant by house elves! Kalee hadn't been sure if he was talking about house elves going to the world cup or house elves in general, 'cause then that would be something that the people who worked for the house elf division would have to talk about. "Well of course the house elves deserve to go to the QWC. They deserve to go just as much as us wizards do." She said. "Well...if they like qudditch that is..." Kalee added after the thought occurred to her.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Blake Rouyn Second Year | you live your life just once, so don't forget about a thing called love. Chad chuckled at the new . "Well...seeing as House Elves without a home do not have the financial ability to attend...I think we're pretty much safe to say that all families that have purchased tickets for the event may bring their house elf. Sounds fair and reasonable?" He liked it, but he was one person. He liked equality.
But, while standing there and waiting for reactions, all the while throwing a wave to the new employee to the department as she took a seat, a thought hit him like a ton of bricks. A thought that IF he had thought of it earlier, would have saved him from accidentally sparking a debate.
It was a thought that made him put his face in his hands, rub gently and laugh to himself. He was very amused that he hadn't thought of this before. And he was the department head!
"Mademoiselles...and Monsieurs," he finally started after a minute or so, "I am sure...you are all aware of the International Statute of Secrecy, non?" He looked around the room; hopefully they were all aware.

Cursing under his breath, Derfel re-entered the room. Angry with himself for being such an idiot, he kept his head down until he heard "International statute of secrecy." instantly grabbing his attention. He looked up and nodded. Who hadn't heard of it?

He looked around the room; hopefully they were all aware. Demelza nodded along. She thought that was a briliant idea. But then he seemed to change tac. This confussed her a little. "Of course," she said when he asked the question, as if she had been answering the question "is one and one two?" If anybody was working in the ministry who hadn't heard of it, then they ought not to be here. It was, afterall, the whole reason that wizards and whitched lived as they did today. Without it...well, she didn't want to think about that. It was too horrible. The Statute was the whole basis on which wizardkind lived. Demelza could see what this had to do with quidditch, obviously they would have to take the oppropriate measures to ensure that nobody found out it was happening from the muggle worl. But what about magical creatures??

Kaylee nodded her head in agreement, but she did wish that the house elves who were free and enjoyed qudditch could have a chance to come to the game as well. But she pushed the thought aside as the head asked if they were aware of the Statute of Wizard Secrecy. "Yes, I'm aware." Kaylee said. Realeasing that she hadn't had any coffee in about 10 minutes, Kaylee picked up her mug and took a sip, setting it back down when she was done.
