Violet looked up as more people filed in. There were a lot of late people today. The memo had been up for awhile; they should have checked the board earlier. A few of them were even talking while she and Tetrus were talking, which was most disrespectful. She shot them a warning glance and turned back to the meeting.

Jordyn smiled, shook her hand and said, "Yes I am, hello." She gestured for her to sit down and asked, "I'm curious, how exactly did you know who I am?"

Tetrus watched venomously as three employee’s walked in late. There faces engraved into his mind, and yes, he’d have a word with them alone after the conference.

And the fact that they were talking, oh no that wasn’t going to work. Not one to loose his cool completely in front of everyone, he merely put his index finger to his lips in response to the late comers introductions. His deep set eyes looked deadly. Quite deadly indeed.

Well, Silvermoons introduction was underway. “What a foolish man.” Tetrus wheezed, thinking of Andrus’ actions. “He obviously does not seem to have much experience with those creatures.” The dark eyes floated around the room.

“We will return, brotha’s and sista’s, and we will not fail. Do you understand?” They obviously were unclear… at least.

“Centaurs are very proud creatures. In case you have not noticed.” Tetrus looked about the room methodically, his presence becoming more intimidating. “Why would you not bring them an offering? Have you all lost you minds?” He laughed his wheezy laugh, “Andrus obviously had no brains, yes?”

The Department Head shrugged and sat back in his chair… putting his hands behind his head in comfort. “No no, I don’t let foolish things like that slide, brothas and sistah’s. Before we head back in we need to find something of high value, not only to Wizards. Something that is identifiable in worth to a centaur.” Hands leaving the back of his head, he stroked his chin. “Goblin steel. Preferably armor. Yes? The centaurs can use it in battle. Basilisk venom? Ohh yes, they could use that at their disposal as well. That, my friends,” Of course, he didn’t really consider them friends at all, “is how we are going to prevent a future attack.”

The Department Head coughed into his robes yet again as a few more people walked in. A few of them decided to carry on a conversation? Bad idea.

Looking to the one called ‘Jordyn Lupin’ and ‘Ellis Kingman’, as they had stated, Tetrus’ dark eyes burned with anger. “If you two continue to talk, I’ll be forced to lock you in the holding room for the next two months.” Nothing about his tone was funny or ‘joking’.

He looked back to the rest of the room, almost DARING them to start feeling conversing.

Well, time to move on with the meeting then, eh? “So, any questions?” He asked, strumming the table with his long fingers. Surely there were…

Kass smirked and laughed inside her head at Tetrus threatened the chattier two of the meeting. They really did need to be quiet, did they know no manners? Just basic work ethic in general was something it looked as though they lacked.

"An offering would be a good idea." Kass pushed her glasses up and began to talk. "But we may need to be careful on what we offer. Not doubting the centuers or anything- but we don't want to give anything that they may turn around and use on us. That I don't think would be a very pretty sight."

Violet nodded. "I agree, an offering was something we should have thought of the first time. I guess we were so caught up with planning everything else." She tilted her head and thought for a moment. "But I agree with Kasandra," she said slowly. "We should present them with something of high value, but not a weapon. Centaurs are wise, but they are also stubborn. They might not want to listen to us, and we don't want them to attack us again." she mused. Violet looked towards the girls who had been talking as Santana scolded them. It was what they deserved for being disrespectful.

“Yes, I quite agree. But it would take them hours to harness a vial of Basilisk venom. And even a shield made of the finest Goblin steel always has it’s weaknesses.” Tetrus tapped his head three times, smug expression on his face.

“I have felt through all the options sista. Maybe even giving them Dragon hide would be clever, yes? I do believe you could supply us with some of that on quick demand?” The Department Head’s eyes looked at her her deep speculation.

He then looked to that Division Head. Beasts.

“Apparently Mista’ Andrus was not as adept as you all could have hoped, eh?” Tetrus wheezed his laugh. Picking at Andrus’ credibility was one way to build up his own type of respond in the mind of his employee’s, right?

“I agree, Silvermoon. We shall be much more defended in our next excursion. The Ministry offers scarf’s and caps equipped with shield charms now, do they not? I for one, will see to it that we have them” Sure, people can do their own shield charms. But he proves as a VERY solid first line of defense. Oh yes.

Pandora knocked on the door and then opened it. What looked like every member of the depatment was already in there. She stood up tall and walked around the table to an empty seat. She sat, hold her head up high.
"Sorry I'm late, I was just talking to Mr S..." She realised that She was looking straight at Tetrus Santana. How had he done that? "I'm Pandora Fortunea, I'm the new recruit in the Goblin Liaison Office." She looked around, waiting for someone to speak.

Pablo quietly slid into the conference behind a fellow late employee, careful not to draw attention to himself. He nodded at his fellow Dragon Department friends, and began to take notes on the centaur case.

Samson raised a hand.
"Sir, I don`t think offering the centaurs something is a good idea. I`m sorry to disagree with you, but I don`t think it is going to work. You said yourself that the centaurs were very proud, but they are also clever. Very clever, so I think they won`t listen to us more if we bring a present. They will think we want to bribe them or something. They would not trust us. They are not stupid, they will not listen to us more or like us better if we give them something." He paused for a few moments and straightened up in his chair. "Maybe these dark wizards who broke into the forest have tried giving them something, too, so that they could do their illegal work there without the centaurs attacking them? If the dark wizards did so, it did not work very well. I think the centaurs would not trust us if we brought a present, Sir."

Pandora thought that Samson had a point, the centuar herd were bound to view any approach with contempt, and a gift could be seen as a bribe. "Offering the opportunity to renegoitiate their territory rights might prove more presuasive. It would show that we are genuine, that we take them seriously. Dark wizards are exteremly unlikely to offer that and the centaurs know it." She felt slightly uncomfortable, haveing them look at her, but she knew she was right.

Looking as someone new entered, Tetrus eyed the new girl in dissapointment. She was BRAND NEW, but that was no excuse for tardiness. And she was talking in the middle of the meeting, bad bad news. The Department Head merely put a finger to his lips, saying "Shhhhh." He'd talk to her and the rest of the late comers AFTER the meeting, in private.

It wouldn't be so pretty.

Oh any there was yet ANOTHER late comer. Tetrus' pulse escalated a bit in frustration, so he gave the employee a look of death as he found his seat. How did Andrus handle this, had the employee's not learned ANTHING?

Oh well, Vane was piping up. And he was DISAGREEING. Not that Santana minded a second opinion, just, in the end he'd always believe that it was his way or the highway. That new girl, Fortunea, seemed to agree with him as well. While they had valid ideas, they didn't understand the big picture. Tetrus had been in horrible situations like this, much much worse situations actually. "Maybe the dark wizards did, brotha. But of that, we cannot be too sure. If you ask me, the average dark wizard is going to avoid the centaurs at all costs. Because if spotted, the centaurs are going to exhaust all measures to see that the wizards are expelled. It is my guess that the centaurs have not actually encourted the human, they are just aware of it's presence. Otherwise, we would not be facing this problem, yeS?" Tetrus strummed his fingers and eyed Pandora.

"This Ministry has given the centaurs very broad land agreements, more than they could have asked for. So what you suggest, is most likely, not the issue we face. They have been enraged because an unknown, party we shall say, has encroached upon their lands. Stealing their wood. Our mission is not to create land agreements, but to extract the outside force that is causing all the irritance." He looked around the room with his deep set eyes, the feeling of animosty was surrounding the man.

"The problem, brotha's and sistah's, that we seem to face is getting past the centaurs before we can find the offending force of dark wizards. If we are lucky, we will find the dark wizards before we come in contact with the wizards. ALthough since that is highly unlikely, we'll have to find means of appeasing them until we can complete our mission. Alas, my reasoning for having an offering as back up. I am not against spiking their rivers with the draught of living death," His eyes glinted malevolently, "But my friends, I believe that is indeed illegal."

The Department Head interlocked his fingers and set them on the table, eying his Department in speculation.

Panodra sat back and listened to Santana. It was becoming rapidly obvious that although he gave the appearance of listening and evaluating the opinions of the team, here sat a man who would only accept his own view parrotted back to him. She sighed inwardly, feeling slightly disapointed. She kept her features neutral so no-one would be able to tell what she was thinking.

If she hadn't heared it herself she could never have believed it possible. before she could stop herself, Pandora was speaking.
"Excuse me sir, do we know if the draught of living death has the same effect on centaurs as humans? The last thing we need is the other herds banding together and attacking because we have poisoned this herd. I realise we need a strategy to fall back on, but accidental poisoning would not be prudent."

Samson Vane looked at the woman sitting next to him, Pandora.
He didn`t think that the new Department head would poison the centaurs rivers, even it it was legal, so no need to worry.
Tertus didn`t seem to take his point very seriously.
He seemed confident that he himself was right.
Know one knew to what that might lead...
"Sir, what about using spells to find out about the wizards in the forest? You know, like the revealing-charm? We could find out about human-presence inside the forest. We have to find a way to make the spell work only for the forest though, because of course there a humans in the castle, but we only want to find out whether there are others in the forest..."
He looked at the others.

Tetrus put his hand up to his defense, as Fortunea seemed to take it the wrong way. “Not only does it break ova’ 8 Wizarding laws. It is also extremely cruel. I sistah’, was attempting a joke. Bad attempt, yes?” He wheezed his strange laugh.

Now eying the other man that had spoken up, he narrowed his eyes. Had the kid not graduating from a proper Wizarding school. “Yes, my friend, there is a charm that is needed to be used. Homenum Revelio. You seriously didn’t use it on your last bout into the forest?” It was VITAL in finding other human life forms, without it, you were just stabbing about in the dark.

Samson looked at Tetrus and raised an eyebrow. "Sir, we didn`t use the spell when we first went into the forest. We should probably have thought of it, though. This time we are going to be better prepared."
He was not sure what to think of the man yet, but he seemed to know what he was doing, and that was agood thing.

Katalin was taking notes, of course she hadn't been on a mission yet and she was excited about it.

Pandora continued to make notes. She listened to the young man next to her say that they had not used Homenum Revelio the last time that they had ventured into the centaur's territory and barely managed to restrain her incredulity. Surely that would be the first step in finding the dark wizards? She wondered who exactly had gone on the mission the last time.

"Sir, do we know of anyone with an existing realtionship with the centaurs? Someone that they trust? If so they may be able to broker the negotiations between us and the centaurs. It may be that if such a person exists they would be worth finding"

Lenae decided to continue to listen quietly, at this point it was the best she could do.

Glancing down at her notes, she listened for the answer to Pandora's question.

Violet tilted her head slowly as she took in all that was being said. "You forget that centaurs do not trust easily. Finding someone else who they trust will solve nothing. Trust can be easily lost if loyalty seems to waver. We need to earn their respect, which is why a gift is prudent. It isn't about them liking us as much as them respecting us. Otherwise, there is no chance of them pausing long enough to listen." She slitted her eyes for just an instant. She knew what she was talking about.

"Can I say something, I am new to the centaur liasion office, I don't mind volunteering to meet with the centaurs. I use to wander around the forbidden forest by myself" she wanted to do something for her department and show them what she can do.

Violet turned her head at the sound of a voice. She met Katalin's gaze levelly. "Everyone in the Beast division is being asked to go," she informed her. "Thank you for offering, though I must say that wandering around the forest unaccompanied is quite dangerous. When on the mission, it will be required that you stay with the group unless instructed otherwise." Her voice was kind but firm.

Pandora listened to Violet speak, and finally realised where she recognised her from. Although a few years older, she remember that her fellow Ravenclaw was a passionate person not to be crossed. She also remembered that Violet had a reputation for liking to know exactly what she was talking about. "Thank Heavens" Pandora thought, "someone I have a chance of seeing eye to eye with."

She listened to the young girl who was sat further down the table. She sounded excited at the prospect of her first mission. Violet rebuked her for having wandered in the Forest alone, pointing out that all members would be required to stay together during the mission.

Pandora kept her face inscrutable, something she was well practiced at. While it was her personal opinion that offering the centaurs any kind of gift would be met with haughty mistrust and perhaps raised bows, she knew that restating her point would not ingratiate her with her new collegues.

Pandora continued to make notes, waiting for some kind of decision to be reached.

"There is a chance they will think we are tricking them." Kasandra spoke up- looking around the table. "They don't trust people easily, so why would they trust a group of wizards and witches giving them a gift? Especially while all this trouble is going on in the forest. There is a chance they might think us fishy and get hostile."

Samson nodded towards Kasandra. That was excacrtly what he thought about the situation and he hoped that if the others agreed, too, they could persuade their new Division Head.

Violet now turned toward Kass. "Yes, I quite agree that there is a chance of that. However, it is a rather small chance, and one we have to take. If we show them that we mean them no harm--in the form of a gift--they will hold their attack until we give them reason to relinquish the respect we have gained from them."
