AJ let out a laugh, a very strained one, but one enough. "Yes, Teal, that's exactly what I said when we first heard of this yesterday, was that the Quibbler can't POSSIBLY be telling the truth. That is the point of the excursion to The Quibbler's headquarters, is to get their source and information so as to research this before someone else gets hurt." She shuffled through some more of her notes and nodded, "Ahh, here we go. Attacks have taken place in Scotland, England, and Switzerland. No actual reports have been filed with any of the animal committees in any of the countries, but that's because they feel stupid saying an invisible creature attacked them."

She stood there, looking around, "I agree, with you on the Beast designation. Not because of intelligence bit, but because it is dangerous and doesn't follow the laws of the wizarding community. Beings try to fit in, this beast is no where NEAR fitting in." She said, and wrote down all this information on the board behind her with a swish of her wand. "I wanted the Spirit division's input here because it is invisible and they have the most experience with tracking and capturing invisible things that REALLY don't want to be found." she said, since several people seemed to be taking rather rude shots with saying this couldn't possibly be a spirit.
"We don't yet know how the Lethifold got here, but we can assume, at this time, that it was an illegal breeding experiment. It might have been a Demiguise that travelled out of its usual area and got pregant with a Lethifold, but it's highly doubtful considering their lifestyles. We are most likely, and we will treat it as such unless we get information disproving this, dealing with an illegal breeding team." This information appeared shortly after with another flick of her wand.

"In those 3 countries, there have been reports filed with hospitals of identical attacks, or at least identical injuries sustained, with various excuses such as: 'fell down the stairs,' 'tried to feet a crocodile,' and, my personal favorite, 'i just woke up like this.'' She looked to her workers. "Some were attacked in their sleep like Lethifolds usually take their victims, but none were fully devoured. Full injury reports haven't been released to us yet."

"Anyways, the purpose of this meeting is to determine WHO is going to The Quibbler headquarters to get as much information as we can on the nature of these attacks and so forth that MIGHT help us get leads on how to contain the creature." she looked at each of her employee's faces, one at a time, making a mental note of what division they were in.

"Since general consensus puts it as being a beast, someone from the Beast Division is going. I'm afraid I won't be going, because I'm just not able to at the moment, busy stuff going on. "Teal. If you don't mind, I'd like for you to go with them. You are most experience with dealing with dangerous critters, and since you have attended, you know what's going on. Find out as much as you can, about the victims, see if they have any connections, try to find out their injuries, names, places, times of day, anything could help us. The most important thing tho is to make sure the hospital reports exist, we don't need The Quibbler making this stuff up." she smiled at him. "Good luck." she said and made more marks on the board. "I believe they are congregating, as we speak, to head over there via portkey." she told him.

AJ waited until Teal had left (ooc: outside the ministry threads, just post as if you had just walked down from the portkey location), and addressed the other employee's sitting before her. "In the mean time, we are just going to assume all the reports and rumors are true, and discuss how we might be able to contain such a beast." she said, with a grim smile on her face, trying to be welcoming and pleasant.

"and ideas?"

Katherine had remained quiet during all the conversation after the Department head's speech. The creature didn't sound like it had anythign to do with her position, so that was one reason she hadn't said anything. Another reason was the fact that she pretty much agreed with what everyone had said.

Half speaking to herself, she quietly said, "How to contain an alleged creature that may be an illegal cross-breed of demiguise and lethifold . . . One of which is a relatively benign creature, while the other is anything but. This is definitely a conundrum." She had never really run into any lethifolds in her travels, even though she had spent time in the tropics. But she had heard stories.

Star Black slips in and finds a seat next to her co-worker Liz.
"Did I miss anything important?" she asks quietly to Liz.

So far we know there is a illegal crossbreed creature that they believe might be part Lethifold and Demiguise. From what I understand... They are trying to determine how to capture it, I think...

Teal grinned again as Aricca mentioned that she wasn't completely confident in the The Quibbler's credibility either. Teal took another sip from his coffee cup as Aricca mentioned that the excursion was heading the Quibblers Headquarters. It sounded important enough, as Aricca continued to go on about where the attacks were taking place, he pulled out a small pad of paper from his cloak pocket and pulled out a pen as well, scratching down the country's involved, while quickly triangulating a possible vicinity of where the beast could be. Teal nodded as he wrote down the nature of the attacks, describing how everyone had made alternate excuses for their attack, "Makes sense..", Teal said under his breath, as he wrote that down as well. At least the beast wasn't striking to kill... yet.

Teal looked to Jack and nodded his head slightly as people were finally starting to catch on to the fact that this could be a spirit, even though the beast option was much more likely. Taking another sip of his coffee, Teal jotted down a few more points on his paper before looking back up to Aricca as she explained to everyone how this Lethifold-Demiguise mix was most likely a result from the acts of illegal breeders. Teal gave a short sigh, he had dealt with many of these fellows over the years... and each case was truly a nightmare at best. Illegal breeders, the experienced ones that is... kept going and were always extremely difficult to track, and sadly, the seemed to evade capture more often than not. "Oh yeah, that's got to be the case here... can't wait to land those gits in Azkaban." Teal said, shaking his head as he scribed a few more notes onto his paper. Listening to the Hospital reports, Teal couldn't help but smile as some of them were extremely obvious to the fact that something more had definitely happened. At least there were no death's yet, and hopefully none would arise.

Teal continued to scribble down notes for a few moments as everyone else was, before he decided to voice his opinion on the breeder's. "If The Quibbler is indeed correct on this, we really do have a crisis on our hands." Teal said with a sigh, quickly taking a sip from his coffee. "If the breeder's keep producing this creature into the world, then this creature's are subject to breeding with each other. If this is to happen, we could end up having a whole new species on our hands, and this would obviously have a disastrous effect on the ecosystem. Not to mention that a dangerous, invisible creature on the loose would cause nation wide panic." Teal finished, writing a few more notes on his paper. He took another large gulp from his coffee and sighed, "So while we are trying to find this creature, possibly creatures, we are going to need the auror's trying to find the wizards responsible for the production of these beasts." Teal finished that with a shrug, he thought it sounded right to him. He wrote a few more things down on his paper before looking back up to Aricca.

Teal sat back in his chair as Aricca began to explain that they were going to send someone down to the Quibbler headquarters to find out more information on this investigation, really checking the credibility of the Quibbler. Teal gave Aricca a weak smile as she said that she wanted him to go for them, to find out everything they needed to know. He scratched the back of his neck and gave her a warm nod, before writing down all of the information down on a second pieced of paper. Once he had finished writing down everything, circling and underlining the important stuff, he folded up the papers and but them back in his cloak's pocket. "Alright then, I geuss I'm off then." he said with a wink to Aricca, he wanted to get this done the right way, and Aricca and the rest of his employee's had no reason to worry, he'd get it done well. As she bid him good luck, Teal grinning and nodded to her, "Thanks, looks like I'll be back with a full report soon." he said, walking over to the door. "G'day everyone." he said, taking a sweeping look of the conference room before departing for his mission.

Emily listened intently to the discussion, her brow furrowed slightly as she heard about the creature. She wrote notes down on her journal, underlining the Lethifold/Demiguise name. "Strange... If the rumors are true and there really is a creature like this out there, shouldn't we think of what possible motive the person, or persons have for creatng it? I mean, it doesn't sound like something someone does for fun." She said thinking about why a creature like this would be out there on the loose. "And are there any pictures of said creature? Surely someone would have caught something on camera, even if it is invisible, there's bound to be some trace of it?" She pondered.

She looked down at her journal and wrote a few things in the margin, not really understanding what she had to do here, surely the Dangerous Creature area of the department could handle this. She thought of a few ideas and knew Aricca would want her input. "Well, if I remember correctly there's a spell out there which will stop an invisible creature in its tracks without injuring it. I assume we wnt to keep the creature out of harms way so we can examine it after." She furrowed her brow, "I can't quite remember the spell right now, but there has to be a way for us to see the creature before we capture it. And are we sure on how many there actually are? For all we know they could be breeding right now or more are being made." She stopped to take a breath, feeling her heart begin to speed up as it always did when she faced a mystery.

"Couldn't we just use a smoke charm to find the creature, then stun it or something?" She said finally, her blue eyes twinkling slightly.

Joseph, staying silent for most of the meeting, finally spoke up. "Can't we potentially use a variation of the Aparecium spell, using the root appareo. If used in the correct way, it could be used to make them visible. However, what to do after that I don't know. I suppose that once we gain the nature of this beast, we can find out what to do about it."

Joseph regarded everyone's ideas carefully. Somehow, he needed to find a spell that would work. The problem was remembering the spell...

Violet listened to everyone else's thoughts. "Oh," she groaned. "I've never heard of anything like this before." She thought a moment. "Maybe we could sort of lure it into a trap. It may be invisible but you can still see if it moves something right? Why don't we set up a realistic dummy and when we see it being ripped up by an invisible creature, trap the cross-breed? I mean I don't know if it would work..." she said, realizing how stupid her idea sounded. "We would need to find out where it is now first, and that would be hard." Then she looked at Joseph Willowgreen, who had just spoken. "Yes! The root word appareo! You're right, that might help! We would need to figure out what to add to it to be able to make the creature visible...does anyone know Latin?" she asked the room.

"At least this is more interesting then our office is right now," Star whispers to Liz."

Star pulls out a basket of chocolate Hershey's Kisses.

"Hello, I'm Star Black from Werewolf Registry." Star smiles as she looks around the room. "Would anyone care for a sweet?"

"I know enough Latin to know that. We have three choices, apperere, apperui, or apperitum." He said searching everybody's eyes. "Anyone may work, but, they may not. So, let's see what we can do." Joseph continued to look around. He wanted to know who had input, but many people seemed to be shy. He looked over at the chocolate lady and smiled, 'this is no time for chocolate' he thought, but he said, "No thank you." instead.

Violet looked over at Joseph. She had no idea who he was, other than his name, but felt grateful towards him for listening to her. "All right...which one of those is the strongest?" she asked him. "It sounds as though we're dealing with an XXX to XXXXX rating, so we'll need a strong spell. And I think we should have more than one person go, just in case." Violet too looked over at the woman who had offered chocolate. She smiled faintly. "Not right now, thank you," she said to her.

"Curious, shouldn't we first locate it before casting spells on it? It could be anywhere in europe, so how is trying to figure what spell would contain it help if we can't track it?" I ask, patiently. "Also, I understand that they are both magical creatures, the Lethifold and DEmiguise, but how could an invisible simian like creature mate with a blanket like creature that would be more willing to devour it?"

"How did a tropical creature meet a far east creature? I think someone was playing Goddess in the Potions Lab"

"I'm actually a very good duelist." Joseph said, "I should be able to cast the spell, but we would probably want one person from every division. I'm not against someone else taking my place though. I'm just saying I can and will do it if I need to." He looked at everyone's faces. "We would definitely want somone from the Spirit Division, at least three from the Beast division, and one or two in the Being Division. No Offense to the Spirit Division, but we are looking for a beast here." He smiled.

"That is my reasoning to making a team. If we build a team of people, we can locate and capture this creature. I don't know how they would mate, but they quite possibly might have. No one will really find out how really." He looked over at the man. "Anything is possible when people meddle."

"It isn't likely that they met by chance. They most likely where, as you said, put together." He looked over at the Woman, the same one who had offered the chocolate. 'Now she's on task.' he thought.

Violet looked over at the man who had spoken. "I'm sorry, but it doesn't really matter how the two creatures met and mated. Not right now, at least. What we're facing is that it is here in Europe, and dangerous." She closed her eyes briefly; she could feel her temper beginning to rise in her frustration. But she mustn't lose her temper at this man. He had posed a very good question. Violet opened her eyes, having regained control of herself. "Oh! No, I didn't mean I thought you weren't able or anything! You are probably very capable of the job. I meant no offense." She wanted to be sure he knew she wasn't meaning to criticize him. "Anyway," she continued, looking around at the room, "He has a good point. Someone from each division should go. So...who wants to go and fight an invisible creature? We need volunteers." She looked towards the head, Ms. Silverstone. "Do you have any ideas?"

Katherine let out a tiny sigh as the meeting almost devolved into an argument. We aren't going to get anything done if people kept taking statements the wrong way, she thought.

Padme slipped into the meeting. She knew that she was very late and she would prefer to not be noticed being late. She saw a seat by the door and she quickly slipped into it. She realized everyone was arguing and decided to wait and see what the argument was about before she brought in her own comment.

"I don't really care what the motive is for anyone creating such a beast, honestly. I care that it's out there hurting people for no reason, and that it's my job, our jobs, to make sure that it is taken care of and disposed of." AJ listened as Emily put in her input, "No, the actual number of these cross-breeds is still unknown at the moment, but since neither of these animals really move that fast, we can assume there is at least 3. Yes, that's what I'm afraid of and is why we need to move quickly with this thing." Once more, AJ nodded, "yes, studying the creature would be best, but alive or dead we are capable of that, if we can see it." she smiled, liking how well some of her employees were thinking things through.
"That is one idea, but trying to create your own spell to contain an animal isn't exactly encouraged in our department, our expertise is creatures, not spells, remember. Perhaps someone from the Minister's office or the Department of Mysteries is more qualified to do that, just in case we get something wrong and end up doing something horrible..." she said. they had to be cautious about this, not just jump to any fast conclusions.
Nodding, Aricca spoke up once again, "This is the best idea so far, if we knew what was triggering the attacks. However, there is no pattern in anything they've done so far, at least as far as the information supplied has told us. These people being attacked are spread out, male, female, of all races and ages, there's... really no way to tell what about these people makes them a target for the creature." she shook her head, with a small smile, hating to be shooting down everyone's ideas.
AJ looked up, hearing whispering from the back, "Something you'd like to add, Ms. Black?" she asked, and nearly rolled her eyes, 'This is not the time nor place for greetings and chocolate, I'm afraid...' she thought, but refrained from saying that. As kind as she could at the moment, with everyone's tempers rising, she needed to get her employees all on task. "No thank you, I've got a more serious matter than chocolate can fix." she said with a weak smile.

AJ nearly laughed out loud, but instead gave an amused smile, "It is no matter to us how these things mated, even though it is more likely that it's an expirement or something, not something nature produced." she finished, still amused. "We do need to focus on tracking it, before we worry about containing it, really..." she said, looking to the doorway, hoping Teal would get enough information to help.
AJ gave a sarcastic smile at these people, "Oh are you done? I don't want to interrupt, please, if you'd like to run this meeting, by all means go ahead." she finished, very sarcastically. Everyone in here was losing their tempers and patience, which made her want to scream at them to be quiet, but that isn't very professional. She just wanted to get everyone to agree on something.

"Joseph, no offense, but I think the Spirit Division might be a wee bit more experienced with trying to cast spells to make creatures visible, so I'll probably ask one of them, or all of them, to do so when the time comes, and they might have more ideas than us on a spell we can use, anyhows." she stated, and turned her attentions instead to the points made by Violet.

"I am not just going to send any one of my employees to fight a potentially deadly creature, just because they have a large ego and a high opinion of their own abilities. I am going to send those of you who are most qualified and experienced with dangerous creatures like this to deal with it." she said, and looked down at her notebook in her hand.

"I think all 3 Spirit Divison workers, both Dangerous Creature committee employee's, perhaps a Pest board worker, and 2 Werewolf Capture people should go." after making mental note at how fast the tempers flared amongst her workers, she figured she should explain her ideas of why these people should go. "This is, of course, after Teal gets back with the full stories and we figure out how to locate it first. The Spirits need to go because they are most experienced with tracking and cursing invisible things. Dangerous Creature people because this is, obviously, a very dangerous creature. Pest board... probably because this creature has some pest qualities, as well... The werewolf capture unit needs to be present because they are the most qualified with capturing elusive, dangerous creatures. I think we all can agree on these assumptions," she said, looking around at her employees faces, trying to read their expressions.

Reading over some notes about both the Demiguise and the Lethifold, she nodded curiously. "So I think, with the Demiguise genes, that it's safe to say it isn't invisible at all times. Demiguises can make themselves invisible at will, so obviously whenever it decides to attack, it makes itself invisible. We don't know what it looks like, because of this, and I think that if we were able to track this thing, or follow any sort of trail, blood, debris, etc, back to the animals lair, or whatever, that there is a fair assumption in saying that it'll become visible when it arrives and thinks it's safe. For all we know it could be living peacefully with apes, since Demiguises are peaceful, ape-like creatures." She knew that at least one of her employees would have a problem with this statement, and looked all of them for input before continuing.

"Lethifolds, on the other hand," she began once more, "Lethifold genes could potentially make it look like a blanket. I think, since the attacks aren't deadly, nor specifically targetting those in their beds, it's safe to say the dominant behavioral traits aren't of the Lethifold, and rather of the Demiguise, which is supposed to be a peaceful being. That is a good thing. From the sound of it, it doesn't seem like a blanket-like creature, because Lethifolds smother to kill, they don't like leaving a trace, so no blood. With the attacks, there's been blood, ripped flesh, and stitches required. We aren't looking for some flat creature. Unless there is another creature partly bred into this, we're looking for more of a larger, Demiguise-like animal." she finished, "Can we all agree on that so far?" She knew that Teal's information could possibly make everything they're doing now completely irrelevant.

Violet blushed at Aricca's words. She had let her temper get the better of her again. Ashamed of herself, she spoke up again, wanting to make it better. "Yes, you're right, from what I've heard, it is behaving more like a Demiguise in its attacks. That is, it will hurt its prey physically rather than devour it the way Lethifolds will....As you said, it will become visible when it thinks it safe. We just have to make sure we're there when that happens." She said, looking around the room.

Jack sat very silently as he listened to the ideas and questions the others had, and eventually writing some notes on the piece of paper he had.

His attention was caught once more as Aricca responded to everyone's ideas, Jack listened carefully and nodded very softly at his boss's ideas, he didn't know much details about the 2 creatures, so he seemed to agree with what has been planned, "Yes, I think you're very right" he nodded, looking around.

Katherine nodded at the department head's words. That made the most sense to her. They needed to get more information before heading out, and then the most qualified people should be the ones to go. Qualified in the sense of their job descriptions, not their own egos.

While she was slightly disappointed that it meant she still had essentially nothing to do, she also knew enough not to question her superiors.

"I agree with Ms. Silverstone. I think that we need to focus, first on locating it, second on containing it safely and third on disposing it or reclassifying it. But I also think someone should be trying to find out and capture the ones who made it. Even though we believe that the original creatures did not mate themselves, the resulting creatures possibly can. and the ones who created it can do so again, if they have not already done so."

Star leaned back in her chair and placed a "kiss' in her mouth. 'chocolate does give you energy in a long meeting' she thought to herself. 'They don't know what they are missing'

Emily nodded, writing everything down in her book and not paying the slightet attention to anyone else as they bickered like school children. When Aricca mentioned who would be going to capture the creature, Emily looks up, a slight saddened expression in her young face. Of course she wouldn't be going, there were no dragons around, so why was she so dissapointed? Well, obviously because she wanted action and going to capture this thing was right up her alley, but that wasn't going to happen.

"I agree completely with you Aricca." She said, nodding polietely while ignoring the naggiing feeling in her gut. She twirled her quill between her fingers and looked around.

Joseph smiled, turning red. "I'm very sorry, Miss Silverstone, just offering the services I had. Anyway, I believe that is a splendid idea." He allowed his temper to cool. He had been very cautious, and did not realize that his temper had flared. "I do agree with you as well, a Demiguise makes much more sense. However, where does the Lethifold fit in?" Maybe he just hadn't been paying attention, but he was curious by why it was a Demiguise Lethifold.

AJ looked down the table at Joseph, "The fact that this creature can sneak up on it's victims without being heard, seen, felt, anything, and the fact that it's dangerous is what makes it a Lethifold... Well really I'm not sure on the specifics of how we know it's Lethifold and not some other dangerous creature, but that is what the reports originally given to us supplied by the Magical Cooperation team said." she honestly hadn't thought down that route...
