"So you're suggesting that we keep them away from everyone??? Quarantine them like some things with a contagious plague????? Werewolves have feelings ma'am and they deserve to share in the atmosphere of a quidditch world cup just as much as any other wizard in here. And locking them in a cage would be the most embarassing thing ever. You can't treat people like animals! A cage is definitely out of the question and keeping them away from everyone else is prejudice. It would only give rise to more problems. The last thing you want to deal with when hosting a WC is a group of angry werewolves." She slid back into her chair and toyed with her pen before speaking generally.
"Have any of you even met a werewolf?" Oh wow, enter the drama queen. This woman clearly wasn't thinking straight because CLEARLY Kaylee wasn't against the werewolves and wanted them to experience the world cup. Without these 'prejudice' precautions, everyone would be in danger! But of course, risking everyone's lives was far more ethical just so that the department could prove they were ridiculously PC. She was about to inform the melodramatic employee exactly this, but Chad had already got involved in a hope to cease any open fire that was likely to happen. Quote:

Chad took a breath himself and started to mull over things. "I understand, that everyone has their own person thoughts and ideas about werewolves, and I respect that. But, this is NOT about us. This is about every person out there, werewolves or human, and we have to look at this objectively, putting our OWN personally feelings to the side.
"Yes, I have met a werewolf and he was very nice, especially under the wolfsbane potion. Unfortunately, he was the victim of an accident..well, it's not being regarded as an accident. Anyways, there was a possibility that something could go wrong and it did. A innocent man now has an incurable disease and he's going to have to live with it for the rest of his life."
Chad took a breather before continuing. Blah, this talking stuff was hard! "Who's to say that that could not happen at the Quidditch World Cup. It's such a LARGE event, the TINIEST thing could pass us by and turn the cards in the game and it would be bad.
"There are good werewolves...and there are bad...and then there are those who aren't werewoves, but they're weird. I'm not saying anyone in this room is evil, but if we were to do ANYTHING that made it possible for werewolves to attend, the possibility of sabotage is there. They believed nothing would go wrong at Hogwarts...but something did. They went to ALL lengths to make sure that the students were safe...but still, something went wrong.
"I do not want to take that chance at the Quidditch World Cup...it could end up being very very disastrous. Hmmm..I will go over all your thoughts and think about this in the comfort of my office. We need to move on..." he looked down at the sheet of paper and found the next creature up. "House elves! Thoughts on that?" And, again, he was talking sense and speaking exactly what was going through Kaylee's mind. She felt like giving him a standing ovation just to express how much she agreed, but that would make her like the over-dramatic harpy, now wouldn't it? Quote:

If you could be so kind as to inform your new associate to see me in my office as soon as possible, hmmm?"
Straightening up and moving to the front of the room, he put a smile on again. "I meant what do you think about house-elves attending the QWC? Those who belong to a family, of course," he shrugged, returning to pacing the room. "Discussion of elf rights are a matter strictly for the division itself, so you'll have to discuss that with your division head." "Oh he is?" Kaylee whispered back, looking after the man who had just left. She hadn't had a chance to introduce herself, but she couldn't believe the only other member of her department had openly just walked out in the middle of the meeting. "Will do, Chad," she assured him. Quote:

But, while standing there and waiting for reactions, all the while throwing a wave to the new employee to the department as she took a seat, a thought hit him like a ton of bricks. A thought that IF he had thought of it earlier, would have saved him from accidentally sparking a debate.
It was a thought that made him put his face in his hands, rub gently and laugh to himself. He was very amused that he hadn't thought of this before. And he was the department head!
"Mademoiselles...and Monsieurs," he finally started after a minute or so, "I am sure...you are all aware of the International Statute of Secrecy, non?" He looked around the room; hopefully they were all aware. She nodded in recognition, wondering where he was going with this. She took it that caged seating or a private projector viewing was out of the question? But, she truly did hope he had a decent solution for them - poor dears. Quote:

Davina continued to listen to the department head. Sure she didn't agree with everything being said and everyone but she was apart of a team working to make the magical world better. She knew there could never be complete equilibrium but hoped everyone would be some what happy at the end of it all.
She listened as her asked about House Elves...what harm could they do? She didn't have to give an input, no house elves were what werewolves aren't..submissive to wizards. Lovely moving on.
She tapped her fingers against her leg as he continued on.
Ofcourse they knew about the statue of secrecy. Ten year olds knew about it. Was he going to prompose not telling some magical creatures? Nah..she continued listening. What exactly was this man on about?

Violet nodded. She'd heard of the statute. After all, she did work at the Ministry. If she ever met a Ministry employee who hadn't heard of it, she'd probably have a heart attack. Or indeed most Wizarding children, who were bound to have heard of it even if they didn't know what exactly it was. "Of course," she said. She took a sip of her hot cocoa, which thanks to a clever spell on her mug was still the perfect temperature.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Camden Ashcroft Fourth Year | Gideon shook his head as he listened to everyone battle back and forth. Werewolves in? Werewolves out? House elves in? House elves out? Did it matter, really, what the creatures thought? Not in Gideon's opinion.
Finally! Someone mentions the Secrecy Statute. "'Bout time we got roun' to that lil' issue. It is hard enough to hide thousands and thousands of magical folk from the Muggles. Now you wanna go an' add a whole buncha magical creatures to the mix too? At least wizards and witches can think fer 'emselves and try to hide from the Muggles. You think a magical creature is gonna have that same mental ability? I dun think so."

Hogwarts RPG Name: Blake Rouyn Second Year | you live your life just once, so don't forget about a thing called love. Chad smiled as he looked around the room. They all knew the statute...but none of them knew how it applied to the quidditch world cup and creatures. Oh! A beam of hope!
"I'm amazed, Mr. Spence...one of the newest employees to our department...and you figured it all out before those who have been here a long time. And you've explained it right, too! Good man," Chad chuckled sitting back in his chair.
"Well, if you knew the Statute of Secrecy, you would understand why Werewolves shouldn't be allowed to the QWC. Everytime there's a QWC, the stadium is usually placed in an area where muggle towns and villages are not too far off. Why do you think the campsites are meant to be NO MAGIC? On top of being close to muggle villages, we are riding precariously close to a full moon. If we get a werewolf at the QWC and he or she decides to run off and accidentally or purposely goes into a village...that spells trouble for us.
"House elves are okay still, though," he nodded. "They have no choice but to follow orders...if they're told to stay in the tent, they stay in the tent. Werewolves, unfortunately, may not be so rule-abiding." Chad shrugged and stared at his paper; as far as it went in his head, that was the end of that issue.
"Any other cares or concerns?"

Rhea leaned back in her chair again after he gave his decision on the matter. Well at least that awful woman got what she wanted. NO werewolves at the world cup. At least they wouldn't be locked away in cages for eevryone to gawk at.
She wanted nothing more than to just leave the meeting, but her facial expression did not betray how she was feeling. Infact she kept a politely interested face on, while they spoke.
She whispered notes to her quick notes quill. Quote:
1.Ghost-cleared
2. Werewolves-banned
3.House elves with owners-cleared
4.Employees-not all nice
She sighed. Then scratched out her number four. It was only the first meeting after all. Maybe she ought to feel them out a bit more.

"Any other cares or concerns?" Rowan was listening to all the arguments going around the room when Gideon spoke up and stated the obvious. After a few other odd and end comments the new Department Head praised him for his insight! What rubbish! Well of course she had nothing against her new colleague it was just the point of the whole conversation and discussion now came to nothing.
Rolling her eyes, she crossed her arms and her legs and waited to be dismissed. Her opinion wouldn't count for much at this point, therefore saying anything would be pointless as well. Glancing over at Gideon she raised her eyebrows and rolled her eyes. This meeting was turning out to be extremely odd.

Well...his first conference had been...a waste? He made them waste all that time arguing and discussing something that could have been solved with the matter as simple as a bloody law.
Fantastic.
"Mes amis," he said softly, smiling gently, but not fully. "I apologize...this conference appears to not have gone as well as I hoped...I am new to this...delegating, so please, forgive me." Another sigh and weary smile, he organized the papers on the table. "You all may leave...except for the division heads. May I speak with you three for a few minutes more?"

Rowan smiled softly at the man, she couldn't help it. He was quite handsome and his accent only accentuated that point. She patted his hand gently. "It okay. I apologize if I seemed disrespectful at all. If there is anything I can help you with please don't hesitate to ask."
She wasn't quite sure how he had gathered what her thoughts were but it didn't matter much anymore. She gave him another smile, one that in hind sight was probably more then a little flirty and then rose from the table. "Good day sir." Well, she might or might not see him later but it was the proper way to say goodbye for now.
Quickly before she could make any bigger fool of herself, Rowan gathered her things and exited the Conference room and headed straight for her office.

"Not at all," Kaylee tried to reassure him. It was always healthy to strike a little debate and have their minds working. Besides, the obvious was to NOT have the werewolves there, but it was good to brainstorm to see if there was any potential loopholes in the situation - it was just unfortunate that there was none.
"Sure thing boss," Kaylee consented, remaining seated, wondering how on Earth this would go being in a room, practically alone with that WOMAN/BEAST.

"Don't be so hard on yourself," said Violet. "None of the arguing was your fault anyway. There are bound to be some conflicting opinions within the department, and when they meet, an argument is inevitable." She drained the rest of her cocoa. So good...but now gone. So sad. Violet nodded at Chad's request to stay back a couple of minutes and leaned back in her chair.

It was totally unprofessional and I promise it won't happen again."
Derfel said all this with a look of misery on his face. His expression a mask to the much more damning thoughts inside his head.
This was going to be a long day.
About to leave, he paused; should he wait for his boss to chastise him there and then or knock on his door later?
Not wanting to be alone with the division heads, Derfel fled the room.

She didn't think he did too bad it was his first time and she felt guilty about not being there for the whole thing. "Sir I may not have been here for it all, for which I am terribly sorry and I apologize, but I don't think you did badly at all. Debating often brings you closer to your peers and lets you understand them better than simply socializing. You made us all think and that is always a good thing in my opinion.",she said gently with a hint of her accent showing. She then said with a little color to her high-boned cheeks, "I apologize Sir". She then left obediently with a bow and headed towards the break room.

She couldn't be having the very little staff she did have walking about and disrespecting their superior, HER superior! She gave an encouraging nod as he finished off, before heading out. Unsure whether or not there would still be a need for her to send him to Chad's office, she made a mental decision to 'forget' since they had talked it over, right? If it concerned Mr Stryker that much, he could come looking for the man himself. Yes?
Anyway, back to the top secret Charlie's Angels stuff.
"Wellll," she began. Wait, he got a comfy plushy chair? Sooooo not fair! She would have to raise this problem at the next conference meeting. "I think I am going to pass on your offer, Mr. Stryker. I have some new employees to attend to, a report to right up and i'm sure we have some ghosts still floating about in the division, still unaware that the meetings are over... so basically, i'm swamped and you don't need me for a werewolf-themed statement, right?" She gave her best puppy dog eyes, even though he HAD said it was optional to help him out. |

Should.... she leave?
Unsure of whether or not that was Chad's intent, Sarah stood up and glanced around herself rather awkwardly. "I guess I'll be heading out then. I'll see you all in the next few days. Working on the Quidditch Championship project," she said, nodding her head with a small smile as she inched towards the door.
Well, she wasn't a Division Head so she was allowed to leave, right? Riiiight. Sarah made her way out the door as her mind was set on the fliers that she would have to prepare.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Blake Rouyn Second Year | you live your life just once, so don't forget about a thing called love. "It's fine," he smiled at his spirit division head before looking to the next. "Thank you, Miss Silvermoon," he nodded, still smiling. He then looked at his third; he couldn't tell if she was all here or not. "Alright, well...that's it then. You may return to your wonderful working schedule. Miss Silvermoon, please feel free to drop my office when you've got a moment free and we'll get to work." With a smile and a nod, he waited until they were all gone before leaving himself and shutting the door.

Haven't changed that much to say. But man, I still think them cats are crazy.
They were askin' if you were around. How you was, where you could be found....
Tailz is back in town, Tailz is back in town. =) |
