Located off the Elevator Lobby, the Cafeteria is a large room with numerous round tables,lots of comfy chairs, large (albeit fake) windows and constant background noise. On the left wall of the Cafeteria is a counter selling fresh sandwiches and salads, while a range of hot and cold beverages (and junk food) is available from the table-top vending machine.

The table top vending machines work using a table-mounted menu of items. You touch the item you want on the list, then watch your head! as your selected item descends from the ceiling. The cans of Pumpkin Juice can be particularly painful if one hits you on the head.

A team of busboys (and girls, and possibly some House Elves) will clear your plates as soon as you are done.

Sophie looked down quickly as if to check something.

Her question was answered when Luriken asked her is she was Sophie. That name was very important for Estelle. It was her mother's name. She smiled softly at Sophie and repeated her words. "Nice to meet you, Sophie."

Free super-sugary food. "Still. You are Head of the Cafeteria. And Head is nice." She flashed a smile at him and took a bite of her sandwhich.

"Unfortunately, I admit, I don't know much of you. I spend too much time locked away in my Department. I come out to eat only now and then, I'm sure you've noticed. The Department of Magical Law Enforcement is always crazy busy and now we have zee Quiddith Cup on its way. Ayiyiyiyi. It gets intense down there, I assure you."

And it certainly did. All the fliers flying through the Department, people running around all over. Goodness, it was a crazy place and she absolutely loved it, thrived off of it.

"Would you be allowed to have a seat?" the woman asked. "Allowed to take a break and meet your fellow co-workers?"

"Vincent is eight, and one of his favourite hobbies is hiding my name badge and jewellery all over the house so I can't find them" Sophie said to her new acquaintances.

At that moment Sophie managed to glance up at the clock on the cafeteria wall.

"Oops, well i'd better get going. Nice to meet you both" she said, standing and making her way quickly towards the exit of the cafeteria, long pale gold robes flowing out behind her.

Estelle grabbed her cup of coffee and took a last sip before it got over. She finished her cookie and placed a bookmark on the page she was on and placed her book aside. When she looked back at the table, she found her coffee cup was gone along with the cookie plate. A house elf must have taken it.

She smiled at Sophie as she got up to leave. "Bye!" She said. "Have a nice day!"

Shylo briskly walked into the Cafeteria, her stomach rumbling. She had not had any breakfast and was hoping to grab a bite to eat before she started work. She was, as usual, 15 minutes early and so she walked straight up to the counter and ordered herself a cup of coffee and a cheese toastie.

Carrying her food and drink, Shylo went to sit down. Glancing at her watch, she saw that she only had 10 minutes to get to the office, and so she quickly ate her toastie, and took her coffee with her to level six.

Otis didn't exactly know how to react to her "unfair" comment; it was more his rule than the Ministry that he was constantly alert while on duty. At her invitation to sit next to her, he slowly lowered himself into a chair, sitting as rigid as he did when he sat in his hard wooden chair behind the counter.

"Alright," he said tentatively, his eyes flicking around the cafeteria, half-hoping to catch a little punk who thought bewitching the coffee to pour itself on people's heads was funny. And yes, he had dealt with that before.

"I've heard of your break room, mostly from the house-elves." The ends of his mouth twitched slightly as he continued, "They seem rather...insulted that you bake your own food."

He gave a nod to Sophie Wolstenholme, head of his department, as she passed by, and then turned back to Verona.

"Someone from Magical Games and Sports was in here the other week. Ordered a gallon of peanut butter-marshmellow ice cream to relieve the stress from the Quidditch Cup." His nose wrinkled at the memory of the result of the ice cream. "Bloke didn't feel so good afterward."

Estelle blinked. Emma? Hadn't she just told him what her name was? Boy did he have a short memory span. She smiled and waved at him as he walked out. "See you!" She said, not bothering to correct him.

She turned back to her book. As she read through, you could see her eyes were dancing with laughter.

His red curls pounced as he walked into the Cafeteria, excited about the thoughts that were flying out of his mind. If only he could find a quill and some parchment to write them down, but he couldn't even write with the excitement that could be spotted by the way he was walking.

Actually, he wasn't walking. Alfie was more like skipping from the joy that he was in. Now he needed foooooodd.

Walking, okay , more like skipping around the Cafeteria, Alfie decided that he should ask for some paper. Standing up on a chair, he hollered around the Cafeteria.

"Anyone got Parchment?! Maybe a quill?!"

Estelle was just reading the part where Mr. Collins was about to go and speak to Mr. Darcy when a voice echoed in the cafeteria. Blinking, she looked up and found herself looking at a male, with bouncy red hair, standing on top of a chair and looking around the cafeteria, looking very happy about something. She stared at him for a few seconds before she realised she had the things he was asking for.

She grabbed her foulder and drew out a parchment and placed it on the table. Then reaching for her bag and drew out a self-inking quill.

She waved to get his attention.

OH. We should have a pirate themed Qudditch game. Arrrghh Maties!

Alfie thought manically. This is a brilliant plan. Having Qudditch players wearing pirate dressings and act like their brooms are ships. Amazing.

Looking around the Cafeteria, he spotted a young woman waving at him. "Hello to you too!" he laughed. At that moment he realized she had a quill and some parchment on her table. "Oh dear oh dear!" he laughed at his stupidity.

Jumping off the chair, he ran towards her table and before he reached to her he did one twirl. "Yes, you have parchment?!" he asked enthusiastically. "Brilliant! Bloody brilliant!" Alfie laughed as his hands zoomed into his hair, poofing it a bit. "Do you know how brilliant is this?!"

Looking at the guy, Estelle was certain that if there was any enthusiasm in the Ministry, it seemed to be filled in this guy. As she watched him hop around the place, a smile spread onto her face. That reminded her of someone she knew.

She laughed as he did a small twirl before he reached the table. Something told her he worked in the Sports department of the Ministry. "Hello." Estelle replied to his greeting.

Bloody Brilliant? She looked around the room. Nothing looked out of the extraordinary to her. Everything looked like it was, everyday. A little boring most of the time.

"Not a clue." She said when he asked her how bloody brilliant 'this' was. Whatever it was.

"Not a clue?!" He gasped as he took a seat while he took the paper and the quill from her. "See this is what I'm thinking!" Alfie said his eyes glinting with enthusiasm. Everything about this guy, the way he looked the way he talked, showed that he was a fun guy. Maybe a little crazy for his own good.

"See there's this Qudditch match coming soon, and it's bloody brilliant!" Alfie told her as he started scribbling on the paper. "The idea of Qudditch players being pirates! That's just bloody brilliant!" He laughed as he kept on scribbling, "See they would not play as pirates, would be too risky! But a theme of being pirates, that would blow peoples minds away!"

His bright blue eyes shifted around the Cafeteria, not looking for someone, just watching the people. "Everyone looks so sad and business-y" Alfie told the girl who had never seen in his life here in the Ministry. "This is why I rarely come down here, people are just mellow!"

Yup. This person was someone very different from the others. As she was sitting and watching him, he looked like one of those scientists, well, they don't have to be scientists. They could be anyone really. Anyways, the point was that he looked like on of those people who had just made a new discovery or come up with a brillient idea which they knew would work.

Aha! She knew it. He was from the sports department.

Quidditch players being pirates? She imagined one of their players dressing up as Captain Jack Sparrow and flying on a broom. Denial. Wouldn't work. That idea definately goes in the trash can. "You mean audience dressing up as pirates to watch the match?" She asked him as he scribbled his ideas on the parchment. That might work.

Estelle glanced around the cafeteria again. She was with him there. This place was boring. People just walked in and out, minding their business or talking to people they knew. So unlike Hogwarts.

Blinking at her for a while, he furiously shook his head. "No no! not the audience, that would be too ridiculous!" he laughed at her idea. "Please, the audience!" Scribbling a bit more on the paper he started to nervously bite his nails, as though he was trying to think very hard about what to do next.

"They'd only dress up and do a few tricks for the audience, maybe sing a little tune!" He exclaimed as he scribbled that thought onto the paper. Scribbling a few more ideas, he gave her quill back, folded the parchment and pocketed it.

"Lovely day, isn't it?" Alford as trying to sound a bit more business-y. Instead he sounded like a five year old ready to eat his ice-cream.

Now she got what he ment. That was a really good way of entertaining them. But will they sing? Do their players even know how to sing? She doubted it, but then again, this was the wizarding world. Even the most musically challanged person could learn how to sing.

"I'll have to pass that." She grinned as she took her quill back and placed it in her bag again.

He was trying to be more business-like. She could tell. She could also tell that he wasn't getting very far. "Lovely day." She said and then added with ridiculas smile on her face. "Want an ice cream?"

Alfie eyed her a bit at the mention of ice-cream. "Why would in blazes would you mention ice cream here? And yes I'd like an ice cream." He huffed folding his arms. "Nothing wrong with a 27 year old man having an ice cream swirly, isn't it?"

Taking out his wand, he started to twirl it between his fingers. "So, you people--" he said pointing his wand at everyone, "What do they exactly do here other than eat. Can't even imagine anyone can chat in this silence."

Resting his wand on the table he looked down at tie and decided to take it off. "Ruddy thing, don't even know why I should wear it!" he laughed taking it off and pocketing it with the parchment.

Realizing something, he eyed the girl. "Sorry, didn't catch your name." He snorted. "Sorry again. Just saying catch your named reminds me of the days I would play with the snitch."he sighed remembering his old school days.

Estelle watched him and laughed. Twenty seven? He was behaving like a tewlve year old. "Since you haven't actually visited this place that often, you wouldn't know that we actually get ice creams here." She told him. "Nope. Nothing wrong with a tewnty-seven year old liking ice cream. My dad loves it and he is about forty." She informed him.

She found her gaze wandering around the room again. "Nothing." She told him truthfully. "People speak to people they know for a little while and then bugger off to their work." She watched his wand twirl between his fingures.

"People call me Estelle." She told him. She had never really played quidditch before, but she liked watching it sometimes. There was one element in Quidditch whe loved doing though - flying. "Didn't catch your's either."

Her eyes hovered on the buttons. "Which flavour ice cream do you want?" She asked him as she decided on chocolate.

Biting his nails, he shook his head. "See the only reason I don't come down here is because I stay and work in my office!" he told her joyfully. "The best job I have" Alfie remarked with a firm nod. "Nothing wrong at all! Ice cream make us feel like children again!" he laughed.

"Bugger off." He repeated after her, "Sad, very sad indeed. We need games down here, it's a wonder why the magical sports haven't came up with something for this place. Need to speak to the boss about this."

"Wonderful name, bloody brilliant!" Alfie said enthusiastically, as he looked at the girl. "Ahaa using that catch thing again. Name's Alford, call me Alfie. Alford just makes me feel like an old wrinkly man in a hot bath tub." he laughed.

"Ohh...Umm...Never liked chocolate, so anything else would be fine." He sweetly smiled at her. "Preferably a swirly thing."

Estelle didn't say anything when he mentioned work. She avoided that topic. If she doesn't ask people about their work, nobody would ask her about her work. I worked most of the times. In fact, she had never seen it fail.

"Why thank you, sir." She said with a grin. "Nice to meet you, Alfie." She added and laughed. 'Old wrinkly man in a hot bath tub'. Hahaha. Alford did sound a little old. In fact, she could recall there being an Alford in her family somewhere. Argh. She hated it when things didn't place right in her head. Probably one of her great grandparents. She never remembered their name.

Didn't like chocolate? He was one of the very rare people she has met in her life who doesn't like chocolate. Her eyes hovered over the buttons again. "Butterbeer?" She asked him. The was another one she liked, but he might not like it. After all, she loved chocolate.

Walking back into the Cafeteria John smiled as he polished an apple on his sleeve and looked around to see if there were any familiar faces. Running on of his hands through his hair John started walking over to one of the bewitched windows and taking a seat smiled and bit into his apple.

Russo wandered rather lazily into the cafeteria, his mind was still spinning, a dozy, yet delighted smile on his face. He flicked his shoulder length brown hair back out of his eyes subconciously, and smiled once more. Deep blue eyes sparkling. He was thinking about Genevieve again. He couldn't get her out of his head.

Sitting down at one of the tables he smiled to himself again, dropping his bag on the floor, but careful of the things inside it.
