The door to the Minister's office is heavy wood and quite imposing. Aside from being a carved masterpiece detailing the history of the founding of the Ministry of Magic, it was also charmed with innumberable spells intended to provide the man or woman inside the office with privacy and safety. It had worked, too, as no Minister had been killed or spied on within these walls in years. Outside of these walls... that was a totally different story.

Once inside the office, the furniture was dark wood and forest green leather. It was a somber place, but very dignified and important. The desk was massive, wrought with brass detailing and a variety of drawers with several locks each. The plate on the desk had scrolling letters:

Brennan A. Cooper, Minister of Magic

The most significant aspect of the office, though, was that it had the traditional magnificent view associated with a man of such rank. Two large windows looked out over the city. It took a careful eye to realize that the first view of London was much higher than any building should be, especially considering the office was underground. The second view revealed itself to not even be a view of London at all. It was Paris, as the Eiffel Tower was visible in the distance.

Just as Reagan opened the door to the Minister's office and stepped inside, she heard him threatening to remove someone from the building. Reagan immediately apologized, "I'm so sorry Minister Cooper. She must have snuck by me when I was handling matters with three other Ministry employees at my desk. I'll take care of her."

Reagan then stared at the woman and said with forced politeness, the strain evident in her voice, "You'll need to follow me out to my office immediately. It was incredibly rude and improper of you to just go barging in on the Minister of Magic without permission. He is an incredibly busy and important man and does not have time to deal with random and unnecessary interruptions. Outside please."

Corvus muttered "Sorry" then walked out of the room as fast as she could go.

She felt as if butterflies were flying in circles in her stomach now. The fact that the minister called her by her first name, excused any rudeness the man had shown her earlier, or anyone else for that manner. She nodded understandingly.

She watched him handle the intruder not with rudeness, but grace. Sure his words may have indeed been unpleasant, but the manner in which he handled himself was graceful, dashing and just all around charming. She sat and waited for Ms. Taylor to escort the girl out.

"Now," he steepled his hands and looked at the young woman. "What can I do for you today? You're new, I understand. Did you have an issue to discuss, or did you just want to introduce yourself?"

Chiara blushed a little embarrassed. "I merely just wanted to introduce myself to you, Minister Cooper," she said with a smile looking at her hands still resting on her knees. "I have read so much about you, and I truly find your speeches enthraw-"

She stopped mid word and looked up at him. Way to go Chiara... FanGirl much? she thought to herself. "I don't mean to take up all your time. I realize you are busy. I do apologize."

"I'm glad you stopped by," he nodded at her. "I am quite busy. I'm getting married this summer, and we have a lot of work to do." He gave her a sort of apologetic smile.

"Oh..." she said her smile faltering a little... so, he was going to marry her... She took a breath... no matter... it's only a road block... She smiled at him again, "Then I will take my leave of you sir." She said extending her hand again to shake his.

He stood and bowed over her hand as he took it. "I appreciate you coming to visit, and if you need someone to speak for you when you're looking for opportunities in other departments, please let me know."

Chiara smiled a surprized smile. "Oh... of course, thank you very much."

He took her hand... he bowed over it. Was he going to kiss her hand, or merely shake it...

International cooperation, huh... she thought...

He let her hand go and seated himself again. "Enjoy your day, Chiara. TAYLOR," he called at the open door.

She was a little disappointed he didn't kiss her hand. Oh well. She smiled at him as she left his office. She'd see him again... soon.

After all... Engaged didn't mean married.

Reagan quickly entered the Minister's office with a folded piece of parchment in hand. She approached Cooper's desk, nodding to Miss Quorra on her way out, and spoke quickly, "What can I help you with sir?" Reagan smiled, knowing that the letter in her hand would likely put the Minister in a good mood.

"Perhaps we need some sort of Muggle turnstile installed at my door, Taylor," he sipped his tea and sounded utterly calm. "Have we heard anything lately about the wedding plans? I've decided on what end of Hampstead Heath I want the ceremony. I realize this will go down a great flap with the boys in Law Enforcement, but if the Minister of Magic can't get married in the middle of a Muggle park... what good is the office, eh?"

Reagan thought about the turnstile and silently agreed that it might be a good idea. It certainly would help her out and prevent her from getting in trouble when employees neglect to remember to stop at her desk before barging into the Minister's office. She replied, "We certainly have had a bit of a problem lately with employees neglecting to follow the protocol. I'll see what I can do to prevent such things from continuing to happen."

Reagan smiled at the Minister's comment on his power and replied in agreement, "Absolutely sir. If anyone can get married amongst the Muggles, it should certainly be the Minister of Magic! I'll let Ms. McPherson and Ms. Raine-Larousse know that they need to the meet with the Heads of their departments to make arrangements for that location." Reagan pondered how much difficulty Alison would have getting such increased security, when Wordsmith was already resistant to supplying a few aurors to prevent Dark wizards from trying to sabotage the ceremony. You'd think the man would be more than willing to protect the Minister of Magic!

Reagan then added, "Speaking of weddings, I have a letter here from your blushing bride-to-be. It was sent up from the mailroom just a moment ago." She unfolded the letter for the Minister and handed it to him. It read:

Though Reagan had not read the letter, she had a feeling the Minister would be quite pleased to hear from his fiance. Perhaps he would be in a good enough mood to give her the afternoon off? Nah. Not likely.

Brennan brightened considerably. "I want lunch set up in the conference room for two, Taylor. Send the Girl down to make it so. I want Duck a la Orange, at least two side dishes... sparkling water on ice. Something ridiculous for dessert that a woman would like." He grinned at her. "And none of that mushy macaroni nonsense from the caf. If they can't provide food, we'll send out. Have you heard anything lately on the tasks we've set forth?"

Reagan couldn't help but grin. No matter how proper or emotionless the Minister appeared on all things political, when it came to his fiance, he never could seem to contain his excitement. Reagan found it endearing and certainly thought the pair was adorable. Of course, she would never say such things to her boss. Can you imagine if she ever used the word 'adorable' in the same sentence as 'the Minister'? WEIRD. But nonetheless, she truly thought they were an ideal match and wanted to help the Minister with his lunch any way possible. She replied with a small smile, "I'll see to it that Bella makes arrangements for the food immediately. And I'll help prepare the conference room to make it a bit more... personal." Reagan already had an idea in her head to make the room much more pleasant and hoped the Minister and Ms. Belle would enjoy it.

In response to the Minister's inquiry about the liaisons tasks, she replied, "I have heard from several of the liaisons that they are working dilligently on their tasks, though none have completed a report as of yet. I was just about to speak with them again to urge them to work more efficiently and get those status reports into me ASAP." Reagan thought about letting the Minister know that the Law Enforcement Head was being a bit resistant, but decided against it for the time being. She had high hopes that Alison would be able to sway his opinion, and if not, she'd just have to take care of Wordsmith herself.

"I hear word that Branxton is in the building," he said, trying to be conversational about it. "The portrait told me. I don't like him sniffing around in business that is not his."

Reagan nodded and confirmed, "Yes, sir, I heard that as well. What kind of an education are the children getting if he is here dawdling about the Ministry, instead of teaching?" Reagan hoped her showing of solidarity and siding with the Minister would please him, for while that wasn't the reason she agreed with Cooper, she certainly wouldn't have dared told him any different. She continued, "Despite his presence, I think you'll be pleased to know that I already have the liaison to the Department of Mysteries set to tail Doyle, preventing him from getting involved in the plans for the wedding. I warned the liaison in advance to be on the lookout and keep him distracted. I will issue a reminder now that Doyle has arrived. Is there anything else you would like me to do pertaining to Mr. Branxton?"

"I think I'd like to speak to him, actually. Let him know where things stand." He ruffled his hair and grinned a boyish grin at her. "You're a good egg, Taylor. Think we can get him up here?"

Reagan raised her eyebrows ever so slightly and replied, "I'll have Isaac retrieve Branxton and bring him up to your office whenever you'd like." When the Minister called her a good egg, Reagan fought back a grin, smiling ever so slightly and replied, "Thank you sir. Just doing my job." Reagan began heading for the door, knowing that she probably had a line of people waiting for her in her office, and when she reached the door asked, "Shall I have Mr. Branxton sent for now?"

"I'd actually like you to retrieve him yourself, Taylor." He straightened up his desk. "Immediately. Leave a note on your door if you can."

Reagan was about to head out the door, assuming that the Minister's answer would be to have Branxton sent for right away, when she heard him request that she retrieve him herself. "Me, sir? Sure, absolutely. I'll post a note on my door and head down to the Department of Mysteries right away, sir." With that said, Reagan exited the Minister's office and stepped into her own.

In his mind, Brennan had been waiting way too long. "TAYLOR." He was not happy with all this waiting. Clara would be here any minute.

Reagan knocked once as always to inform the Minister of her presence, then opened the door and entered the room. Despite knowing what he was going to say, she asked, "You called sir?"
