With a wave of his wand, all the books flew off the shelves and landed into neat piles on the floor. He couldn't stand it anymore, these books were pointless. "Mademoiselle Reagan," he called, looking very business like in HER chair. It kinda made him feel special.

"Mademoiselle, I officially declare ces livres a waste of ton..time," he nodded, looking serious. "Therefore, I say that...maybe you and I can go on a book hunting expedition?" He smiled gently; he liked shopping trips with her. Made for a nice bonding moment.

"I promise not to play with your clockkk," he tempted, before adding in a quiet mumble, "foratleastamonth."

Angelina knocked once at he minister of magic's office door before opened the door and entered the room."Minister Reagan, I'm sorry to disturb you, but Samantha Rose and Jake Rider, from the department of magical education, are here and they have a rather urgent matter to discuss with you."

Samantha waited with Jake outside the door of the Minister's office. She was grateful to Angelina for bringing the two of them here, as the matter was quite urgent. It was lucky she was around, as the Undersecretary's desk remained vacant the entire time she and Jake were there. She began to rehearse what she would say in her head.

Reagan sighed. "No, I suppose they aren't worth keeping, are they? We definitely will need to schedule that book hunting very soon then." Reagan eyed the enormous book shelves and contemplated just how many books she'd need to fill it. That was a LOT of shopping!

About his promise, Reagan retorted, "Yeah, I bet. You wouldn't be able to resist messing with that thing for a whole month. I'd give you less than a week if I was a betting woman. Lucky for you, it doesn't look particularly good for the Minister of Magic to be gambling."

Reagan abruptly turned her attention from Chad to Angelina, her smile dropping gradually as she listened to the words Angelina was speaking. Something urgent? From the Department of Education? That can't be good. "Thank you Angelina, send them right in please."

Turning to everyone else in her office, Reagan requested, "I'm going to have to ask that you all step outside for a moment. Liaisons, if you could help the other liaisons in the Undersecretary office with cleaning things out? That would be great."

Angelina watched Reagan's smile gradually disappearing and then , after nodding with a polite smile at the minister's words, turned around to step outside the office. "Samantha, you can come in. Minister Taylor is going to see you now." she informed the woman that was waiting outside the door .

"Coffee in the Leaky Cauldron says that I so can leave your clock alone for a week. Loser buys," he smiled, raising an eyebrow to see if she would go for it. "It's not gambling, more like a friendly competition, mmm? You know where to get me," he chuckled, getting up out of Reagan's chair and walking out of the office.

Samantha smiled again. "Thank you very much, Angelina. I appreciate your helping us get to see the Minister so quickly.” The office was clear now, so it was time to begin.

She took a breath as she stepped into the room. “Hello, Re ---Minister Taylor.” She caught herself at the last minute. Everyone was still getting used to the new Minister, and calling her by her official title. “I’ve been meaning to stop in personally and congratulate you,” she said. “But sadly, this is more than just a social call. Just a little while ago I received an owl from Hogwarts, and it contained most disturbing news. I know your time is valuable, so let me summarize this for you.

Just a little while ago, there was a general assembly held at Hogwarts to discuss the topic of lycantrophy. Of course, the Magical Creatures Department already knows that Professor Alessia Lupa, Ancient Runes professor, suffers from the disease, but has been under control for years and was thought not to be a danger to anyone. Well, as part of the general assembly, it seems a decision was made to demonstrate wolfsbane on Professor Lupa, and something went terribly wrong.” Samantha shook her head for effect. “Professor Lupa transformed and became quite aggressive, actually breaking the enchanted cage she was apparently being housed in for the purpose of the demonstration and attempting to attack a few students. But someone stopped her. That person was Headmaster Bontecou, and both are now at St. Mungo’s.” Samantha shuddered. She didn’t know how either of them were doing, and she feared the repercussions were going to be great. What if the Headmaster had been infected with lycantrophy?

“You can see why we were so concerned about seeing you so quickly with this,” Samantha summed up. “My Division Head, Jake, actually received a first hand letter from his niece, with a full and detailed account of the incident. Jake, do you have anything you’d like to add?”

Olivia smiled at the Minister as she passed. "Well we do try our best,ma'am," she replied warmly to the compliment.Upon entering the office she stood by the side awaiting her instructions. "I see,yes," she nodded,looking around at the furniture that currently occupied the room. "I can understand that you want to make your mark on the room.....and remove those chairs," screwing her nose up,Olivia could see exactly why she wanted them gone.Smiling,she glanced about,trying to work out how she would move it all.Turning back towards the Minister Olivia cleared her throat. "I'm just waiting on one of my collegues and a new recruit from the Security department,to do the protective charms for you,and then we can start.If that is OK with you ma'am?"

Before she had a chance to get an answer there was a knock on the door.Looking round,Olivia listened as the woman mentioned an urgent matter.Right that means not for her ears.With the Minister asking if they could all leave while she attended to it,Olivia nodded and turned on her heal to go and wait in the Senior Undersecretary's office.

Following Samantha into the Minister's office, he wasn't surprised to see that it was under construction. He had never been in here before when Cooper was Minister but from the remnants of what his office had been, he could tell at once that it wasn't the style he would have picked for Reagan.

Right. Werewolf. Attack. Headmaster. FOCUS! Listening as Samantha told Reagan - er, he should probably call her Minister Taylor now - he fiddled with the letter inside his pocket, already deciding to show it to the Minister. However Rachel may hate him, his logic told him that it was probably for the best.

"Erm, no, I think you've basically covered everything - but here you go, Minister. That's the letter that my niece sent me and it explains everything in a bit more detail. Excuse the handwriting, she was in a hurry," he explained and handed Rachel's slightly crumpled piece of parchment to Rea Minister Taylor, waiting to see what her verdict would be.

Reagan took a seat behind the desk as Samantha and Jake entered the room and began speaking. With her hands steepled in front of her face, Minister Taylor listened carefully, her heart and stomach plummeting as she heard the brief description of the chain of events. Reagan swallowed, her throat feeling very dry, and with a steadiness to her hand that even surprised her, she accepted the letter from Jake. Reading over it quickly, Taylor's first question to Samantha and Jake was, "What is the status of Headmaster Bontecou's condition," followed very quickly by, "How extensive are his injuries? And was anyone else hurt during the assembly?"

Jake, feeling a bit more confident now, replied to the best of his abilities. "Well, I know that a progess report hasn't been released from St. Mungo's as far as I am aware of apart from the owl they sent to inform Samantha of the current situation," he began, and felt in his pocket for the owl that they had sent, having kept it after Samantha had given it to him.


"That's what Samantha got," Jake added as he handed it to her, and then tried to answer Taylor's next questions. "I don't think anyone else was hurt. . . But from what Rachel described, it sounded pretty bad. The headmaster got in front of the werewolf to prevent her from attacking the students," he said, not really wanting to go into detail as he hoped the Minister would understand what he was trying to say without going into all the gore.

"That pretty well sums things up," Samantha agreed. "At this point in time they are both still confined to St. Mungo's, and right now none of us are really certain of what is going to happen with either one of them. It's probably safe to conclude that Hogwarts currently lacks a headmaster." Samantha had a really bad feeling about all of this, there was bound to be concern even if Headmaster Bontecou was okay. After all, he had been attacked by a werewolf. But maybe she was thinking ahead, maybe things would be okay.

Fat chance!

The Minister shook her head, "That is simply not enough information for me to do anything with. Please contact St. Mungo's straightaway and tell them I need immediate and frequent reports on both Headmaster Bontecou's and Professor Lupa's statuses. And if they refuse to do that, tell them they are to contact me as soon as either one of them is conscious enough to speak with me, especially Bontecou. I will be visiting St. Mungo's if I do not hear from them in the next few hours."

Reagan jotted down notes on a piece of parchment that she retrieved from the top drawer of the desk. "I'd like you to contact the Law Department immediately and have them start bringing in witnesses for questioning. We need to launch a full scale investigation. And I want guards at St. Mungo's outside of Lupa's door at all times. I don't know what happened at that assembly, but I'm not taking any chances either way. I don't want guests able to get in without verification and approval and she is not to leave until she's given a sworn statement." Oh man, the parents were going to go beserk! She needed to take quick action to mediate the situation. Why couldn't the first month of her term been EASY!?

Jake nodded as Minister Taylor talked. She was right of course - she couldn't do anything really until she knew the full situation. Looking at Samantha, Jake realised that he should be the one to do these tasks. She was the Department Head, Taylor needed her more. "Right, I'll go do that straight away unless there's something else you need me for. And erm, what about the press? I saw a journalist heading towards Samantha's office just as we left," Jake asked, slightly apprehensive.

Parents were not going to like this at all - he didn't really, and he was only an uncle. So imagine what everyone was going to say once they read about this incident in the Daily Prophet! Oh man, poor Reagan!

Numble gets of the lift and walks to the door that reads minister Reagan Taylors office as he takes a breath before walking into his first assenment he knocks on the door a few times and opens it to see the minister at her desk and a few people inside he nods at oliva he looks at the minister and says hello mrs.taylor my names numble marcus and im here for the security department mr.Lee sent me to help oliva..

"That sounds good," Samantha agreed as Jake said he would handle finding out all the needed information and taking care of things. Samantha groaned as she heard that there was a reporter headed towards her office as they were leaving. She wasn't ready to speak to anyone from the Daily Prophet, it sure didn't take them much time to get wind of things! Quite amazing, she thought with a shake of her head.

"Thank you again, Minister Taylor, and we will keep you advised of this as the situation changes," Samantha promised. "And I'm really sorry your term is starting out this way." She was genuinely apologetic about that. "I'm going to go back to my office and try to deal with any questions that my employees have and try to brief them on the situation, plus trying to head off the Prophet. Thank you, Jake, and please keep me advised of the situation as well."

Jake nodded to both woman, feeling sorry for both of them equally. The press were not fun at all and as for Minister Taylor... Well, let's just say that he would not like to be Minister right now. "Right, I'll get going. No time to waste," he said and turned towards the door, noticing for the first time that someone was there.

A spark of curiosity ignited in him, but he shrugged and left the office, having more urgent matters to attend to. First, St. Mungo's. Sky should still be in my office...

Ugh. Press already? How do they hear about these things so quickly?! Reagan pursed her lips before deciding, "For right now, don't let the press know any details about the attack. You can mention the basics because I'm sure they already know them anyway, but no specifics. Let them know we are launching a full-scale investigation to get to the bottom of this regrettable matter. If they ask about Lupa or Bontecou's condition, let them know that that information is priviledged and could not be released to the public, even if we did know it."

Reagan was startled by the interruption of her meeting. Seeing as how she was familiar with most of the faces in Security, after having worked with them so often for events, Reagan figured this employee must be new and didn't know the way things worked around here. She explained, "Thank you for responding to my request so quickly, Mr. Marcus; however, I am in the middle of a very important, very private meeting, so I am going to have to ask you to step outside until I am finished. And in the future, there will soon be a newly hired Senior Undersecretary who will sit in the office just outside mine. If you ever need to meet with me, you will need to check in with him or her first."

Reagan returned her attention to Samantha and nodded solemnly. "I appreciate your support, Samantha. And actually..." Reagan made a decision that she had been contemplating very much in the last few days and now felt confident with, "Before you return to your office, I would like to discuss another matter with you..."

Reagan's eyes narrowed in thought and before Jake could leave the room, Reagan exclaimed, "Wait! Jake, could you please wait outside my office for just a few moments. I want to discuss something with Ms. Rose privately for a moment, but I may need you again before you return to your department."

Samantha was pleased at the way they were to handle the press, that was the exact approach she would have taken with them. At this point, they probably had more knowledge than she did about the matter, anyway.

She was just about to leave the office when Minister Taylor asked her to stay for a moment, that she had something she wanted to discuss with her. "Certainly, Minister Taylor," Samantha said, wondering what this new issue could be. Whatever it was, she was ready to find out.

Jake had in fact already almost swung the door shut before he heard the Minister address him. Popping his head back in, he nodded and slipped back outside. He reckoned that whatever Minister Reagan and Samantha had to talk about, it would take longer than the minute it would take him to go across the hall and send his owl to St. Mungo's. He'd be back here in no time.

Running back, and panting heavily, Jake let himself lean against the wall of the Minister's office, glancing at his watch and grinning as he saw that it had taken him a total of five minutes. In the end, he had also gone up to Syd Wordsmith's office to get things started from that front. There really was no time to waste, and if that meant that the Minister waited a minute - which was only sixty seconds really - then it's worth.

Now all he had to do was to wait for Taylor to ask to see him again - although for what, he could not imagine - and hope that Sky came quickly so that he could deliver some news from St. Mungo's as well.

Right. Door firmly shut? Yes, it appears to be so. Time to get this settled. "Ms. Rose, as you are aware, I vacated the position of Senior Undersecretary upon my ascension to the role of Minister for Magic. That position is currently still vacant and in desperate need of filling."

Reagan moved the timepiece on her desk a quarter of an inch to the left before pressing on, "You've been in the Department of Education for quite some time now and, I must say, you've done extremely well there. The department appears to be running smoothly and efficiently and I want to congratulate you on those successes.

"However, I think your skills might be better utilized elsewhere, if you're open to change." Reagan surveyed Samantha over her steepled fingers before finishing, "How would you feel about becoming my Senior Undersecretary and overseeing the liaisons? I could use someone of your intelligence and dedication in this office."

Samantha was surprised, she had no idea that she was being considered for such a position. She smiled warmly and answered sincerely, "Why yes, Minister Taylor, I would be honored to accept the position of Senior Undersecretary. That would be like the fulfillment of a dream for me, to be able to work so closely with you and supervise the liaisons."

Samantha paused a moment. "But what will happen in the Department of Education? I have a feeling we are going to be very busy there, and we are going to need someone who is on top of things there." She stopped for a moment as she realized that there was someone who would fit very well into the position, and quickly. "Oh," she said. "I think I understand. Very good, then, and when would you like me to start?"

Samantha knew that she would have to go and let her employees know, perhaps there could be a little party before she left and assumed her new duties. She was looking forward to it, but she wanted to show her appreciation to her employees before she moved on.

Reagan awaited Samantha's response with nervous excitement. Upon hearing her acceptance, Reagan's face broke into a genuine smile and she tapped both her hands down on the desk, "Well, I'm quite pleased that you've said yes! I admit, it is a very big job - lots of facets and responsibilities. It isn't always glamorous but it is definitely rewarding."

Reagan's vision wandered to the door, outside which Jake was most likely standing. Reagan replied to Samantha's concerns about the Department of Magical Education. "You are quite right about the level of activity in that department increasing with this latest train wreck of an event. And we need someone heading that department who can do the job as well as you have done it." Dropping her voice to a whisper, even though it wasn't really necessary as there were Imperturbable Charms and a whole assortment of other sound-blocking spells placed upon the door and office, Reagan inquired, "I need your absolute honest opinion, do you feel that Jake would be a suitable replacement for you as Department Head. Can he handle all that this position would entail at a stressful time such as this? He seems promising to me, but as you've worked much more closely with him, your opinion will weigh heavily in my decision."

Right outside the office, where Jake was patiently waiting for Minister Taylor and his boss, a white owl flew in through the open door and made its way towards the man with a note attached to it's leg. Quickly holding out his hand for Sky to slow down, Jake swiftly untied the note and sent the owl off back to his office where he had a regular spot on his fireplace.

Reading the note, Jake's first reaction was immediate relief. First of all - no one's going to die. Second - . . . Well, he couldn't really say everything was ok, but things certainly did look a little -just a TINY bit- better than before.

Sighing, Jake resumed his leaning position on the wall and succumbed to his thoughts as he waited impatiently for the two women to let him back in.
