The door to the Minister's office is heavy wood and quite imposing. Aside from being a carved masterpiece detailing the history of the founding of the Ministry of Magic, it was also charmed with innumberable spells intended to provide the man or woman inside the office with privacy and safety. It had worked, too, as no Minister had been killed or spied on within these walls in years. Outside of these walls... that was a totally different story.

Once inside the office, the furniture was dark wood and forest green leather. It was a somber place, but very dignified and important. The desk was massive, wrought with brass detailing and a variety of drawers with several locks each. The plate on the desk had scrolling letters:

Brennan A. Cooper, Minister of Magic

The most significant aspect of the office, though, was that it had the traditional magnificent view associated with a man of such rank. Two large windows looked out over the city. It took a careful eye to realize that the first view of London was much higher than any building should be, especially considering the office was underground. The second view revealed itself to not even be a view of London at all. It was Paris, as the Eiffel Tower was visible in the distance.

Chiara knocked on the Minister of Magic's door. The moment she did, she immediatly regretted it. She hoped she wasn't intruding. She was a new employee and just thought she should introduce herself to the man in charge. But now that she'd knocked, she'd not had his assistant notified... she'd forgotten to check if he had an open door policy... What if he wasn't a nice man and fired her for her insubordanance.

Oh dear... Oh dear. She didn't know whether to run, hoping no one saw her, or if she should just wait and face her fate like a Gryffindor... She thought about it one moment then realized there must have been a very good reason for her to have not been sorted into Gryffindor. She should just listed to the hat and leave.

But she didn't... not yet anyway.

"Marin! No." The door swung open and Brennan tugged at his chin for a moment. "Ms. Taylor. There is someone knocking at my door." He looked down at the woman in front of him as if he couldn't possibly speak to her without Ms. Taylor's assistance.

Reagan had heard Cooper's voice from the liaisons area and hustled to his doorway as quickly as she was called. She had spotted the new Ministry worker standing at the Minister's office door from across the room and immediately was dreading his reaction. No one, NO ONE, was meant to directly approach the Minister without seeing Reagan first and now this woman was completely abandoning protocol!

Glaring at the woman briefly, Reagan first addressed the Minister, "I'm sorry, sir. The new liaison to the Department of Magical Transportation arrived this morning and I stepped out of my office momentarily to welcome her and explain to her our high expectations and standards for our liaisons in this office." Reagan emphasized that last part with the hope that his knowing that she was enforcing strong leadership would slightly appease the Minister's unhappiness and then continued as she gestured to the woman standing in his doorway, "She clearly must have entered while I had very briefly stepped out of my office and instead of waiting at my desk for me to return, took the liberty to knock on your door. I assure you, I won't let it happen again." Reagan added a bit of crispness to her voice, as if to emphasize to the woman that if she dare tried knocking on the Minister's door without going through her first, she just might be faced with the meaner side of Reagan, a side she most certainly would not like.

"Well," he flashed a charming smile at them both. "You go talk to Taylor and set things up with her. You have to talk to her before you talk to me. I'm quite busy, you know. Obviously. Taylor, send the Girl down to the caf to get me tea?"

When the Minister smiled, Reagan knew he wasn't terribly angry and nearly sighed in relief. Had he used his stiff 'I'm just being polite' smile, Reagan might still have been a bit edgy, but his charming smile? She was in the clear! And since her forecast had no chance of an anger rainstorm, Reagan decided to ease up a bit on the new girl who clearly had no idea how things worked in this office. With a small smile, Reagan asked the woman, "Why don't you follow me and come around to the front of my desk and we can address why you've ventured up to our office today." And without waiting for her answer, Reagan turned on her heel and walked to her chair.

"And TEA, Taylor," he called after her before returning to his desk to work on a bit of paperwork and a lot of wedding plans. He'd have to make sure Taylor called the florist for him.

"I... I..." Well this was beyond rude! She understood that she should have maybe announced herself, but to talk about her in the third person as if she wasn't even there. That was rude.

She followed the senior undersecretary to her desk glaring over at the minister.

Reagan balanced the tray with the Minister's tea on her hip as she knocked on the Minister's door to announce her presence. After giving him a couple moments, she entered the Minister's office as usual and set the tea tray before him on the side of his desk. She spoke, "Your tea, sir. Also, there is a new employee from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement who would like to introduce herself. I believe she said she was from the Equipment division. Her name is Chiara Quorra. Will you have time to meet with her or shall I send her away?"

"You can send her in, but I have all these... things I need done," he sorted through papers on his desk with distaste. "I need that Girl to clean my desk and file things. And..." He gestured at the tea without glancing at it or Miss Taylor. "I'm not pleased with the speed of service. Is it the Girl or the caf?"

Reagan could see that the Minister was a bit distressed and offered gently, "Well, why don't I take the paperwork for the things you need done? I'll sort through it all and figure out who needs to be doing what to get it all completed promptly. And I'll schedule for Bella to come in and organize your office. When would you prefer her to do that? While you're in the office or while you're out on lunch? Or perhaps after you've left for the day? I could make her stay late." Reagan knew Bella probably wouldn't like that too much, but such is life when you're the Junior Assistant to the Minister. Besides, that would mean Reagan would have to stay too in order to lock up properly. Not that she minded, she had plenty of work to attend to.

In response to the Minister's dissatisfaction with the speed of delivery of his tea, Reagan frowned ever-so-slightly. She wasn't sure which is was, though she had a feeling the cafeteria was the problem. "Well, Bella left for the lifts just as soon as I requested that she retrieve your tea. And it was still steaming hot when she arrived back up to the office, which probably means she came back up to the office as quickly as possible. So unless she dawdled on the way down to the cafeteria, my best guess would be that the problem is with how long it took the cafeteria to get your tea and not with Ms. Brown. But I can do some further investigating. Would you like me to look into it?" Reagan stared inquisitively at the Minister, calculating in her head how many minutes would need to be spent determining who was at fault, and adding them on to the end of her day.

"Taylor," Brennan gave her a warm look, but there was a sternness to him. "We simply do not have the resources available to allocate someone to run up and down the lifts whenever I need tea. Issue a memo to have tea delivered daily. They certainly have time to do that."

He stacked the notes he'd written to himself and pushed them towards Miss Taylor. "This is my only priority right now, Taylor. It has to be done well and done correctly or we might as well not attempt it. I want a press conference in the conference room in the next few days, and I'd like all those issues dealt with before that happens."

Reagan knew that look all to well. She should have realized that having his tea delivered would have been the easiest and best option but the thought hadn't even crossed her mind. Was she losing her touch? She was normally very good at reading what the Minister wanted before he asked for it. This time, she was blindsided... and by something as simple as tea! With a serious look on her face, "Absolutely sir. I'll write the memo right away and send it down to the Cafeteria staff.

"As for these" Reagan lifted the notes off the Minister's desk, "if they are your top priority, they'll be my top priority, as well as top priority of all the liaisons. I'll see to that. And I'll make sure the conference room is prepped for the press conference. I'll add to that memo to the cafeteria staff that we're going to need a spread of pastries and coffee, tea, and an assortment of beverages. Is there anything else you'd like me to do for the press conference?" Reagan had a feeling that question could leave her open to accepting a whole slew of tasks, but if things needed to get done, she would be the one to do them.

"Oh and when would you like Bella to come organize your office?" Reagan wondered if Bella would need to be at the press conference. If not, she could easily organize the Minister's office while he was out of the office, thus keeping her out of his way and preventing any issues. Then again, maybe if she was in the office with him, he might actually learn her name and stop calling her 'The Girl.' On second thought, that's not likely anyway.

"You're amazing, Taylor," he started to work on a scrap of parchment in front of him, his attention clearly off her. "I think we'll take care of a lot of issues if we get the caf to deal with us directly from now on. I'm glad we thought of it." There, that was awfully generous of him, considering how mucked up his tea time had gotten.

Reagan realized the Minister would not likely answer her question about when to send in Bella to organize his office. For some reason, when it came to his Junior Assistant, it was almost as if she didn't exist. To him, she didn't even have a name. It seems any questions about her didn't exist either. Reagan decided she'd find a time to send Bella in to organize his office when the Minister was out and not bother asking again.

Instead, Reagan just replied simply, "Yes, sir. Directly. And I'll send Ms. Quorra in right away." Reagan turned on her heel as she so often did when she exited the Minister's office and approached the door with paperwork in hand. After adjusting the papers so that she didn't drop them, she opened the Minister's door and exited his office.

Chiara showed up at the Minister's door again. Memories of him treating her as if she wasn't even there were flooding her mind. She pushed the thoughts out her head. She was going to meet the minister of magic. THE Minister of Magic.

Chiara smiled to herself unsure if she should knock... or just walk in.

She opted for knocking. She ran her fingers in at the sides of her lips to make sure her lipstick was alright, quickly ran a hand in her hair, making it fall in its proper place to frame her face. Now she was ready. She then straightened up and knocked. A light but determined knock.

Cooper hated knocking. If they weren't supposed to be there, he didn't want them, and if they WERE, then they ought to just come in. Knocking was tedious. "Enter," he sighed, scratching at the parchment once again. "Ah... Miss Quorra? That's an unusual name. Is it Welsh? I understand you're new to the Ministry."

"Yes, indeed I am new. Equipment control." She wasn't dressed like you'd think an equipment control specialist would be, she was rather professionally dressed. Not that there was a uniform in her department's section, but equipment people were considered grease monkeys, equivalent to a glorified muggle mechanic.

"My name is Italian, Sir... I am of Italian descent," she flushed a little bit, her cheeks turning a pretty pale pink. "Thanks for asking. I merely wanted to introduce myself," She said with a sweet innocent smile. She extended her hand hoping to shake his.

Brennan leaned back and reached for his tea, giving her a long measuring look. Wales was always foreign to him, but Italy... hm. "And do you speak Italian, Ms. Quorra, or is it a more distant connection?"

"Fluently Sir," she said awkwardly pulling her hand away from where it had hung, waiting for his to shake. Bringing it down to her side she wanted to fidget, but refrained from doing so. This was the Minister of Magic... he didn't want to deal with a fidgeter. She kept her hands by her side.

"I was born in Rome, and raised in Milan," she said keeping a smile on her face. He seemed different close up. She'd been him speak once. He was so eloquent, not to mention handsome... she had already forgotten the way he'd treated her when she first showed up. "Though my family is spread over the boot. My father's family anyway."

Corvus walked into her office and walked up to her "I have a question to ask" she said politley "I want to become an auror.....can I" she asked quietly "It's okay if you say no, because I was just wondering"

"It's a shame you're not in the Department of International Cooperation," Brennan winked at her. "We could use a witch with your talents, especially considering some of the dolts we've got wandering around in..." He paused at the interruption.

"TAYLOR."

Chiara blushed as he winked at her. Oh dear Merlin, he was so very charming. "I will keep that in mind when a position opens in that department." She moved her hair behind her shoulder with one, slow motion, before they were interrupted.

She turned towards the door and saw the woman... woman... she looked like a girl. Then the minister called his assistant and the memory of being thrown out now flooded her mind... no... she was ok. She's gone threw the undersecretary and they were having a nice conversation.

"Excuse me, Miss... Chiara. I'm afraid I'm going to be exceptionally rude." He peered past her at the young woman by the door.

"You... you there! You can't just walk in here. If you don't remove yourself immediately and go check in with the senior undersecretary, I will have you removed from the building."
