Alina was still smiling as she entered Patents. She placed the parchment she was carrying on her desk, before taking a prominent position in the middle of the room.
"Afternoon everyone," she said, loud enough to catch people's attention over the hum drum of their work. "We've got some important work to do for the Convention coming up...and we've only got a week to do it in." She smiled and looked around at the employees. "We've been waiting for some stuff of interest, and I hope everyone can give their all so we are representated well as a division."

This Being her First Job Remy was more than usually quiet. She walked towards her assigned cubical. She walked with confidence and ease but deep inside she was scared to the bones. She wore a midnight blue robe the signature look of all Wicks. The inside was lined with black lace . When she felt uneasy or afraid her eyes were blue and when she felt at ease and calm they were gray. They were blue now and she look forward and hoped she wouldnt be noticed. Reaching her cubical she sat down and exhaled. This is gonna be a long day she thought.

Alina cleared her throat, before explaining their assignment. "We have received rumors that India is giving patents for objects that already exist." She paused, in case anyone was taking notes. "We need to find out what has occured, and what inventions are being claimed as new... We also need to list some possible reprimands that we are willing to put in place to stop this from happening further. The memo is on the noticeboard if you want to see the exact assignment."
She smiled, and ran a hand through her curly hair to tuck it back behind her ear. "I know this will be hard to research, but finally we have something more interesting than biting teapots!" She gave a small knowing laugh, and cauht Liam's eye. "Perhaps we should break this down into three main areas and break it down? We need as much input as possible for us to get all the information in such a short time."

Liam who had been taking notes heard about the bitting tea-pot and could help but laugh he then regained his composser and hoped the other ones hadn't notice him laughing, He looked at the boss again when she said about splitting it into three different section "I think breaking it into three area's is a good idea boss" he said slowly hoping the boss would mind him saying so.

She opened the door and walked in slowly ''Hello guys, My name is Isabella, im in the Obliviators office, just wondering if anyone here has ever had scarlet fever?My boss, Ivan has asked to ask ministry empolyees as a kind of survey for muggle excuses for seeing dragons and centaurs, Scarlet Fever anyone...''
She looked around waiting a response... ''All in need is symptoms and reactions to the fever.'' She put her pen in her mouth and the scrap piece of paper held tight in her hand felt like her only friend at this point in time...

She guessed the newcomer was quite nervous having to go round all the different departments, and her motherly nature wanted to help her. "I remember seeing the symptoms as a sore throat, fever, something on the tongue and a rash, or along those lines, when the kids were younger. The doctor gave me a leaflet...I can have a look for you at home if you like?"

Alina let her gaze go from the scarlet fever research person, and returned to her previous task. "Okay, we'll split it down." She grabbed some parchment from the nearest desk, and took a quill as well.
"So, the three main sections are...what has happened, what patents have been given mistakenly, and possible punishments." She wrote the three areas down as she spoke. "Liam and Kahylee, which of those sections would you each like to cover? Anyone else got any preferences?"

"Sure go ahead," Alina replied to Liam with a smile. "As far as I understand, you need to draw up a list of possible reprimands and punishments that we can put place to stop the problematic patenting." She wrote Liam's name on the list.
"Feel free to find someone else in the division to help...and come up with lots of possibilities that can be discussed. Perhaps research fines and the like. I'll leave it totally up to you."

Liam smiled at the head then turned to his desk and started to put some ideas down and waiting for someone to come in so he could ask them if they wanted to help him. a couple of minutes later he was away with his work nothing could disturb him now. about 2 hours later he was finished. Quote:

1. A great big Fine
2. make them show someone what they are allowing to be an object before they can do anything with it
3. ban them from patents any object
4. have an inspecter visit them everyday and put him incharge of them
5. ban them from taking part in any compertions until it is all sorted out.
6. make them pay all the people who's ideas they have stolen
7. ban them from any more confrences until they can be trusted
8. have someone look at all the patents they approve.
Liam passed the paper to his boss.

3. ban them from taking part in any compertions until it is all sorted out: this would be they are banned from taking part in any events such as the quidditch world cup and others until they decide to follow all the rules/
4. ban them from patents any object: this would mean they are not allowed to patent any items until they can be trusted to do it properly

I think finding out what Patents have been falsely given might be a hefty task, and wondered if you'd like to join me in getting to the bottom of how it happened and what has slipped through the net?" She tilted her head to the side, and studied his face. She had a very good idea what his answer was going to be.

Alina had returned to her desk, and was reading through another report she had attained that was linked to her current task. She frowned slightly as she read it, and made notes here and there in the margins with her quill.
Liam's movement across the division caught her eye, and she smiled as he came and handed over the list. "Phew! That's quite a lot, and that's only the ones that clash with our records." She shook her head. "Now we've got to work out how this happened, and who over saw it all. Could be quite embarrassing for a few at the conference!"
