"There doesn't appear to be anyone here," Doyle said and started looking around the department.

"What do you wish to do, Sir?" She was very careful about not calling him professor. He seemed not to like being addressed as such. She was tired, and hungry now, but she wouldn't dare leave his side.

"Is there a reason we came to Obliviator Headquarters and not somewhere else?" he asked, tapping on the faceplate outside the office.

"Uhmmm, uh... I..." What was this? A trick question? She wasn't at school, he didn't know he was a professor, and yet still he was testing her. "This was the first place I thought of..." seeing as I obliviated you... Oh... Flobberworms! "...because it was just outside the lifts..." She wished she could bang her head on the wall... but that would seem suspicious.

"Doyle!" Clara called in her sing-song voice. She waved her fingers at him, her nose already scrunched up and ready to smell out the story here. "What are you doing here, darling?" Clara went straight up to him and placed a kiss on each of his cheeks in greeting. They were practically family these days!

He shook his head at the girl and had a sudden idea as to what might have happened. It should not have taken him this long to suspect it but... He couldn't finish his thought because the lift opened and he turned to see who would emerge.

Doyle was always cautious around Clara since leaving Hogwarts Usually he managed to avoid her by simply staying where he belonged in the Department of Mysteries. But, on those occasions when he did find himself in other parts of the Minsitry he invariably bumped into her. Of course today would not be the exception. He refused to give her any reason for gossip mongering so, decided not to inform her of what was happening. "I am waiting for a member of the obliviator squad," he replied the 'of course' evident in his tone of voice.

Cassandra hid behind Branxton and remained quiet. Maybe the strange kissing lady wouldn't see her...

"Oh...," Clara smiled and nodded at him, sending her curls bouncing like springs from her shoulders. How very boring. "You really should be ashamed of yourself, you know. I distinctly remember asking you to bring the girls by more often. Bren and I miss them so much." Clara sighed and bent around Doyle to see his little friend. "Who is this? Hi darling, Clara Belle, Daily Prophet."

The Prophet?! FLOBBERDUNG!

"I'm... his... apprentice... student apprentice." Cassandra lied. She stuck out her hand and said "Cassandra Trelawney, Slytherin. This is a field trip." She looked at him, "for me..."

"The girls?" Doyle asked, confused and then looked at the girl and back to Clara. Oh it would be awful to admit he didn't know the girl with her hanging all over him and speaking of field trips.

Clara blinked a few times, though her smile was unfaltering. "The... girls...?" Clara repeated his question slowly. "Little Sophia and...," Clara always had a hard time remembering the one that hadn't been named after her. "Your girls?" Clara laughed at him. "A field trip though? Was this BrenBren's idea? He's been trying so hard lately to get good quality recruits." Clara gave the young girl a look trying to decide if she was good quality or not.

"No... This was the Headmistress's." Change the subject, Cassandra, get her of 'The Girls!' "She selected a few of her brightest, and I came out on top." She beamed a little, unsure of why she was doing so.

"I think I have the wrong floor," Doyle announced suddenly. He was being targeted in some sinister plot. The girl couldn't keep her story straight. Something was definitely wrong. "I need to go up one more level, excuse me." He started heading back for the lift. He needed someone from Law Enforcement.

Cassandra grabbed a hold of his arm again. "Please" she whispered begging him, "Please please... don't leave me." Tears formed in her eyes.

Clara's face went blank, totally blank. First off, all ideas were BrenBren's and this girl needed a serious dose of modesty. If Clara had never heard of her, and she hadn't, then clearly she was nothing all that special.

That was, of course, until she clung to Doyle's arm and begged him not to leave her. She became something quite special then. "I see," Clara said, her new smile saying that she clearly did see what was going on.

"You don't see anything, Clara. You never have," Doyle briskly replied as he attempted to shake off the young witch. She had a serious need for classes in manners. "I do not intend to leave you. No, indeed I think you need to come with me." He started cleaning his glasses and kept heading for the lifts.

Cassandra breathed a sigh of relief but realized by his tone he was displeased with her. Great. How was she going to fix this. He would be FURIOUS when he found out. She's never seen him furious, but she was sure it wasn't a pretty sight.

"It was nice to meet, you Ms. Belle." She said following her professor, unsure of where he was going to take her... one floor up? She wished she'd been into politics and studied the ministry's layout now.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," Clara's chin jutted out. She would most certainly be telling Bren all about how Doyle had talked to her. "When you go back, be sure to ask Cassandra about the girls being flower girls for us? And get some rest, you really look quite heinous today." Clara smiled brightly at him and followed him towards the lifts. She was going up, too, after all.

Walking toward where all the sound was coming from, Lance was wondering what the heck was all this. Recognize at least two of them, he eyes the girl wondering why she was here instead of school. Turning his attention toward Doyle. "Is there something I can do? I know it's not my division but I was wondering what was all this."

"Ah yes, you work in this department?" Doyle asked, not recognizing the wizard. "Someone has cast a spell upon me and I need it reversed immediately." He stressed the "someone" and started cleaning his glasses again.

Clara's ears and quill perked up at that. "Why didn't you tell me that, Doyle darling?" Clara reached up to feel his forehead as if he were sick.

Blinking at Doyle's respond, he was wondering what kind of spell this most have been. The strangiest thing was he knew Doyle, not personnaly but he had crossed his path a few times and this wasn't the way he usually acted. "Yes I am. I'm in the office just next to it."

Shaking his head when he heard it was a spell gone bad, he was sure he knew what spell it was. "Can someone tell me anything about how this had happens?" Eyesing the student, he was wondering if she had something to do with it.

Madeline was headed towards her office when the sound of voices stopped her. Who could that possibly be? she wondered. She turned around the corner and saw a gathering of people. Nothing out of the ordinary, except the fact that a student was with them. What on earth was she doing here? Shouldn't she be at Hogwarts? Madeline had no reason to keep track of the school calender but she was quite certain that she was not on holiday. "Hello?" she asked, approaching the group, "Can I help you? I'm Madeline Grau," she said, introducing herself, "I'm the Head of this Department."

Cassandra was ready to just break down and cry. "We... we were in his office... just he and I." She looked over to Clara and said "We were just practicing a spell," she then turned to the two new people and continued. "Then he started acting like this..." she said, "I... I didn't know what to do!"

She held back her tears as best she could.
